To order from Carneval is a hit or miss! Either with the food or the drinks,. This place is never 100% They do have a good service and cool Ambience. The other day I order Chicharrón de pollo and they served me chicken nuggets with no flavor lol You never know what your are getting on this place few bad experiences ;(
Amazing customer service. Food and drinks are amazing. We ordered the double crab cake, shrimp mofongo, chofan, carneval chicken and carneval shrimp were absolutely delicious. The Blue Hawaiian, Saturday Night Fever and the Passion Fruit Margarita were really good. Great music with great DJ's. Amazing security team as well as the servers. Bathrooms are downstairs and are kept very clean. Great atmosphere with amazing vibes. Great hookah as well. Definitely recommend to check Carneval out of you are in the Williamsburg area.
I have to say with as much as you go through with this restaurant I was expecting a five-star experience. To book a reservation you have to leave a credit card - not sure why but ok (they even ran it for $1.00 to ensure it worked). Even though they do brunch they don't open until 1:00pm. I received a text a day or two before confirming my reservation. The day of I received another text saying my reservation is in 30 minutes. I arrived early and was told I had to wait outside (I guess sitting at the bar wasn't an option). So at 1:00 my party was escorted in. The restaurant is cute but all the tables were high tops so if you're sitting in the aisle side you're going to sit on a bar stool with no back. They have an unlimited drink brunch for $47 and you get 90 minutes of your choice of mimosas, or red or rose sangria. The menu indicated that your entire party had to participate which was ok with us. I had the red sangria but it was SWEET very sweet. I switched to the rose and it was sweet as well. The surprising thing is that I didn't get any "kick' from the sangria (other than sweetness). We started with an empanada appetizer - one beef, one chicken and they were both good. For my entree I had the Tiger Shrimp which is like a shrimp fried rice. Now at this point the restaurant is empty - we were the only ones there. So imagine my disappointment when I got my rice and it was lukewarm and dry. I've mentioned here all the time that I don't send my food back so I ate it that way but I don't understand why it wasn't hot because it's not like they had to rush orders. My friends had the steak and eggs and they said it was good. For dessert I had the lava cake - it came with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It was ok - no better no worse. I definitely was expecting a better experience.
Happy hour alllll dayyyy on Monday. Free hookah with a purchase of food and drinks. 2 TVs . Ac was on blast on this hot day
If you're ever in Williamsburg and looking for a dope spot with amazing food and great music, look no further! I was really impressed with the DJ's mixes, ranging from Hip-Hop to R&B to Afrobeats. The service was efficient, and I have to say, the skirt steak was cooked to perfection--honestly, the best I've ever had. Highly recommend it for brunch!
Came for dinner on a Saturday and stayed until it changed into more of a club. For dinner you can have the table for two hours if it's busy. Servers were nice during dinner. It was harder to get their attention when it became a dance bar. I got the Carneval Chicken which was tasty. The three of us shared a passion fruit margarita pitcher which was very strong. People can smoke hookah there. When it becomes clubbier, they replace dinner tables and chairs with bar tables and stools. The Latin music was a lot of fun and people were dancing, but the music was very loud where I couldn't hear my friends next to me and when we left, our ears were ringing. It wasn't packed and overly warm which was nice. They switch to charging you for water and giving water bottles when it's a bar, which is a money grab. I'd come again for the party vibes.
The first time I came here was with some co-workers after a staff party. I had the hot wings and some fries. Wings were crispy as requested. However the wings don't come with a sauce. They charged me $1 for the initial blue cheese and then $.75 for each additional one. They also charged $1 for the aioli with the fries. The tamarind margarita was delicious. The service I received was much better than then second time I went. The only difference was there was Latino people in my party when I went the first time and it was on a Saturday. The next time I went was on a Sunday with my boyfriend. They played nothing but Latin music and they had a live Latin band. The place is pretty small and it was jam packed. I came in for a table and the busser was very rude when I tried to ask him how does the seating work. Finally I was able to flag down a waitress who was nicer and was able to get me seated. It was extremely loud and full of hookah smoke. They even had sections and bottle service. Way too small for that in my opinion. My boyfriend got the fried red snapper with tostones. It was delicious and worth the $30. I got a shrimp Caesar salad. It was okay. The Caesar dressing could have been better. We got a picture of margaritas that was like $40. We wanted it made with don julio and it was a $35 up charge. My boyfriend got hookah, it's not really my thing. They don't automatically add on gratuity. If I dined again it would definitely be early afternoon. I don't like restaurants with club vibes.
Walked in on a rather busy night. I reserved a table and I must say I was seated quickly. The staff was very nice (big smiles) and helpful. Upon walking in the restaurant is a lot bigger than I anticipated. I didn't get the see the back space but seemed like a vibe. If you don't like loud music this is not the spot for you. The music was on 100 and I was okay with that. The vibes from the drinks and the hookah (yes they have hookah) were the perfect combo. So yes the drinks were good! I think they've def curated a great cocktail menu with amazing flavors. The food was so so. I had the Sushi and it was a complete throw away. The sushi was dry and didn't deliver on the Latin flavors at all (points for presentation). I was a fan of the Mango Guac, the hint of sweetness was a perfect touch. Altogether the vibes were cool, drinks were cool, food was okay. Would I go back mehhhh I don't know. Go for the turn up!

I've been here a few times and last night I could not believe the bill. Almost $400 for something we have normally paid about $200. I really could not understand the amount. This was insane. I'm not sure if we were taken advantage of or what but this is definitely our last time here. Between gratuity and tax was almost $100. Shots were over $150 and we paid for something other than what we asked for. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm done with this place. If you decide to come here I suggest you WATCHING WHATS BEING POURED. Bartender super shady. Only place I've been to that a manager was not available. I so much wanted to dispute this bill. At one point we caught the bartender watering our drinks and filling the glasses up with nothing but ice. Repeatedly we asked them to stop doing this. Absolutely disgusting. If you decide to come to this place be on point and record everything trust me. read more

The service was really good. I made reservations on Resy for a girls night out. We needed to amend the reservation and had to call to make the change but they were friendly and amended our reservation without any problems. The place is a little smaller than expected but we were seated in the covered outdoor patio which was really nice. Thankfully we got there early before it turned into a party spot. The food was ok and the drinks were good. read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a while now and decided to come here for happy hour with my best friend on Monday. While I waited for her, I sat at the bar and ordered the La Vega and the empanadas. The bartender was so nice. She helped me decide on what to order while I waited. She also let me know that the hookah was FREE since I ordered off of the happy hour menu, and since my friend was taking a while to arrive, she didn't want me to miss out. The music was playing loudly. It was mainly "Latintrap", with one or two afrobeat or dancehall songs in the middle. When my friend arrived, we moved to a table. Our waitress was friendly, but it did not come off as genuine. She was nice in her delivery but wasn't helpful at all! I ordered the La romana and hated it. I should have googled what cambur was because I would have known that I wouldn't like the drink. When I asked our waitress if I could swap it, she let me know with the biggest smile on her face that she is unable to make any changes. It seemed like anything we asked for, she was unwilling to help us, and in a condescending manner, which really turned me off from the establishment as a whole. My best friend ordered the sweet chili wings and they were soooo bomb and bursting with flavor. I ordered the three musketeers, which was okay. I really liked the shrimp one. I also ordered the double crab cakes, which were decent. What really elevated the dish was the mango and green apple slaw that accompanied it. So yummy! Although our waitress made our experience less than enjoyable, I will definitely be returning for their happy hour! read more
I went to Carneval in Brooklyn for a quick bite and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did we share an amazing platter but we also had some amazingly creative and delicious drinks . Had this spot on my to-go-to list for a couple of months now so I was thrilled to come here last Saturday night on a date. We were seated right away and was approached by the waitress minutes later. Although my date already had a Long Island Iced Tea, we ordered two Blue Hawaiians. Unbeknownst to me, the frozen drinks came in a plastic bottle (kind of like a Nutcracker), I prefer my drinks in a glass. On top of that, you can barely taste the liquor in the Blue Hawaiian. As far as the food is concerned; pretty good. I ordered the empanadas (1 shrimp, 2 chicken) and he ordered the crab cakes) and for our entrees, I ordered the Salmon with mashed potatoes & spinach and he had the Shrimp penne pasta. Everything was delicious and was cooked hot & fresh. No complaints there. We had hookah at the end (only mint was available).... kind of disappointing since it's better to have a variety of hookah flavors to choose from in my opinion. But hey, overall a good Brooklyn spot to try out at least once. read more

Carneval is a popular local spot that serves brunch, lunch and diner and of ofcourse drinks. They have a healthy inside dining space with outdoor seating in the back and nice size bar. They are a hookah friendly restaurant/bar so be prepared to see some hookahin' going on. We stopped by this time around to have brunch. We had the French toast and pancakes. Both came with fresh pieces of fruit to add to the dish. My pancakes were accompanied by bacon and eggs. Everything we had was tasty with a decent size portion to fill our stomachs. No complaints here, give it a shot. read more
Went in April for Happy hour. We ordered: Chicharon de Pollo- sweet Chilli & Fries Guacamole and plantain chips Montadito - mini beef tostones sliders Frosé Guava Mule Mojito I really enjoyed the chicharon and the Guacamole. I would order those again. Loved the frosé. Wish I got one to-go. The montadito needed a tad more flavor for me. Reservations are recommended. The heaters were a nice touch. This place can get crowded. Hookah is popular here. Worth visiting. read more

A fun Latin American restaurant with a really cute indoor and outdoor dining setup. They have authentic food, cocktails and decor inspired by carnivals from all over the world! The music is also very good and dance-y. It's great for groups, a date or a girls night out. I like to come here during happy hour because they offer discounted food and drinks deals. Their happy hour is Monday-Friday from 4-7pm. You can get the beef sliders and the mac & cheese for $7 each. So cheap! The beef sliders are covered in cheese and 100% delicious! Some of the best sliders I've ever had. The mac n cheese is also really good and covered with cheese as well. They don't skimp on you which I appreciate! The cocktails are also very well made: strong and flavorful. The Spicy Latina and their mojitos are my favorites. They also offer hookah and have a big screen in the outdoor area to show movies, sports games, etc. read more

We had reservations for a party of 8 on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived at 3pm and at this time there wasn't a dj but just music. The staff were friendly, attentive and always checking in. There are some music quotes to go downstairs to the restroom, and Dominican carnival art on the walls. The empanadas came with a side of melted warm guava sauce that was the perfect combo for the cheese one or chicken, full of flavor. The mofongo was garlicky and the shrimp tasted fresh. The waiter stated that it was white sauce but he was incorrect it's red criolla sauce. The margarita presentation threw me a little off, but I appreciate the cultural sentiment behind it. This place had a dj and has hookah available. Although we were expecting more entertainment for brunch (the Diablo) there was none. I Will return for the music and to try something else off the menu. read more
I went to holiday party on a Friday night with a coworker. The salsa and merengue music is blasting. People are dancing. Loud and happy conversations are all over! Lots of laughter and good cheer. The calamari was perfect. I hope they are consistent! Good time! read more

If we were kindly made aware that they weren't able to split both of my friend and I's cards, it would've been a solid four stars. I'll elaborate later but here's the details with the food/drinks: We started with the empanadas. They were very delish, we ordered carne, shredded chicken and cheese with salami in it. The cheese were definitely cheesing (lol), they didn't skimp out on the fillings either! Nice flaky yet crusty hot dough on the outside... BTW: Please update the advertised empanada picture on your site since it presents three empanadas -we were served two. We ordered two orders for this reason. Yeah we get it, INFLATION. Sangria was very sweet yet refreshing as the ice dilutes it a little. Def creeps up on you, so SIP IT! Their pitchers are $35 for a carafe, you get a nice 2.5 servings for two people. Entrees: My friend ordered the Toston Burger (the "toston buns" were rather too thick to bite the burger through, so she just ate the burger with a knife and fork, with one of the buns from the bottom. I ordered their Exotic Mofongo with Shrimp. Difference is the sauce was a Bechamel instead of the traditional tomato-based sauce. Presentation was very nice! It was very yummy and hearty, couldn't finish it all so I took half of it home to enjoy later. Service was okay. We weren't very happy where we were seated as it was in the front near the door with flies fluttering around.... We wanted to sit in the back but according to the hostess they were reserved. Idk what's the point in reserving on Resy then. The restaurant doesn't pick up the calls as I attempted to specify where we wanted to be seated. Waitress wasn't very attentive. We asked for the sangria pitcher prior to the empanadas to enjoy our drinks but we got the empanadas first. I asked her for Tabasco sauce before the food arrived and it took her near 20 mins after I received my entree before she realized that another waiter got the Tabasco for me... Finally when the bill came, friend and I went Dutch to find out that my friend's card was charged instead of mine (no issues with my card on my end whatsoever) but the waitress mentioned that apparently their merchant account couldn't process both cards which I found to be BS. -They didn't want the extra fees incurred when processing the cards. We were kind of annoyed that she didn't let us know prior to charging one card. Thankfully there's Zelle so I just sent my friend my part of the bill, but it doesn't justify we weren't given a heads up to charge without having the courtesy to ask first. Anyway, four stars on food but between service/where we were seated/extremely loud music/card they get three for that. Media of food and drinks below: read more
Been coming to this place for almost a year...when you find what works.... Stick with it! Fried snapper with goat ones and salad.... Passion fruit margaritas... and I'm in heaven. Servers are attentive when in the front and when it's not too busy. Not my thing, (so no idea about quality) but complimentary hookah with entree. Pre mixed drinks come in an nyc traditional nutcracker bottle... but DELIVER. Cute little corner for pics...great happy hour and well worth it!!! read more

Is is family friendly /can I bring my child?
This is more of a bar turned night club that happens to serve decent food. I do not think this is a family friendly spot for the weekends. It gets a large crowd of hookah smokers. I am not sure how the weekdays are. Crowds may be smaller but you'll…
