Once it was over and in need of a delectable gin martini, Fausto's in Flatbush came to the rescue. This incredible Italian restaurant is making some lovely dishes. My son and me ordered: * Two London Dry Gin martinis that were a perfect timing beverage * Our Little Gem Salad with Red Onion, Marcona Almonds, Wildflower Honey Vinaigrette was delicious * Meatballs with Whipped Ricotta, Basil *Contains Allium, Chili, Egg, and Dairy was scrumptious * Orecchiette with Fennel Braised Pork was wonderful * Campanelle with Lamb Sausage, Rainbow Chard, Spring Onion, Pecorino was great * Olive Oil Cake with Strawberry-Rhubarb Compote, Whipped Mascarpone was a great addition to our meal The service was excellent, the ambience was marvelous and the noise level was very zen I loved this place, especially after a very long day working the load and I Love New York and what it does to me!

The owner agreed and explain that the extra salt originated from the clams themselves, and graciously offered us another dish, pasta with tuna, that was again delicious. By the end of the meal, we were extremely satisfied--not only with the food, wine and gentle jazz, but also with the warm, attentive service. Highly recommend Flora for quality Italian food, vine, and ambiance.

Some places don't ask for your attention. They just quietly earn it…read more Flora offers an extraordinary encounter with Southern Italian gastronomic cultures. The pasta dishes, octopus, stews, carrots with yellowfin tuna. Every plate reveals a distinct constellation of ingredients, techniques, climates, and histories. The menu unfolds as a succession of gastronomic worlds, each carrying its own material intelligence and cultural memory. The space is equally compelling. It combines the abstract continuity and refined materiality of Mies's architecture with furniture that feels patiently assembled from remarkable vintage discoveries. Rather than restoring the building to a single moment, the design allows different layers of time to remain visible and in dialogue. The outdoor spaces are beautifully composed and lovingly gardened, extending the same care and intelligence that define the interiors. The service is warm, attentive, and impeccably professional. Nothing here is performative. The precision of the cooking, the calm confidence of the architecture, and the generosity of the hospitality all belong to the same sensibility. A remarkably well-kept secret in Park Slope.

This cozy, family style Italian restaurant offers a warm atmosphere and an impressive bar. We enjoyed refreshing drinks, including peach spritzes, classic old-fashioneds, and Aperol spritzes, all while soaking in the inviting vibe. We ordered burrata and shrimp / calamari to start. Our meal featured a variety of entrées, and everything was delicious. The bronzino was a standout, while the ribeye steak earned rave reviews. The lamb chops and roasted chicken also delighted our taste buds, and we wrapped up with their delightful tiramisu. Barbalu truly made our graduation celebration special. Special thank you to Adriana and the staff for great service.

In fact, it seemed like practically every table had a baby or young child so it feels kid friendly. We ordered fried calamari and a Margherita pizza pie and a Parmigiana pie to share as our starters - all were tasty. FIL tried the Ribeye Steak and my MIL had the Wild King Salmon which they liked, but I thought their highlights were their homemade pastas. I loved my order, the Tagliolini with Maitaki Mushrooms and Tiger Shrimp in Cream Sauce - delicious without being too heavy. My husband enjoyed the Squid Ink Tonnarelli Allo Scoglio which had a spicy kick and my SIL liked the gnocchi. My daughter has an egg allergy and I appreciated how the waitress made efforts to double check with the kitchen which menu items were safe. They were able to accommodate with a spaghetti with ragu sauce for my kids to share. Dessert was alright. They were very sweet with birthday candles and singing a song for my FIL. My husband loved the affogato. The tiramisu was decent. The crème brulee was an interesting chocolate orange flavor. The kids didn't care to finish their chocolate cake though, which was pretty dry. All in all, it was a great dinner. The pasta portions were smaller than expected but they were delicious and feels just right if you get some appetizers and pizza as well. Would return again for the pastas.

My family has been going to Mazzat once a year for over 10 years. If we lived closer it would be a…read morelot more often. We live in Jersey and come to Brooklyn every year to get our taxes done. Its become a tradition to go to Mazzat after our tax appt. In all these years not only have we never had a bad meal, but the meal has always been exceptional! Today it was just my wife and I. Our two sons had other plans. Even though it was just us two, we ordered like there were four. We started off with drinks. My wife had the Mango Sunrise and I had a Mojito. Carlos, who does a little bit of everything at Mazzat recommended it and it was the best Mojito I've ever had! Well balanced, the mint stood out and the agave gave it just the right touch of sweetness. Mazzat is a place where food is meant to be shared so we ordered multiple apps and two entrees. We got hummus, merguez (lamb sausage), garlic shrimp and chicken cigars, which you can also order with lamb. All of it came with a basket of soft pita with crispy pita chips added. The hummus has the consistency of Gelato; smooth with the slightest of lemon flavor, drizzled with olive oil and paired perfectly with the pita. Chicken cigars come with an avocado crema that complements the smoky flavor of the chicken inside. Shrimp was fantastic and the merguez equally so. Both come bathed in olive oil and spices, perfect for dipping. My wife had shakshuka because she's a big tomato fan and was very happy with her choice. I got the half marinated chicken which comes with bulghur rice, a side salad and a garlic dipping sauce. The chicken had a deep smoky grilled taste that permeates the meat. It didnt need the dipping sauce but the dipping sauce was a great partner nonetheless. The bulghur rice deserves it's own paragraph to describe it but I'll keep it to buttery, soft and fluffy and unbelievably delicious! We also ordered a fattoush salad which is as good as it gets as far as salads go. We consider Mazzat our favorite restaurant pound for pound. When it comes to food quality, quantity, value, freshness, service and atmosphere, you'll be hard pressed to get any better than Mazzat. Apologies for the long read but I feel you have to give a restaurant like Mazzat it's kudos and that just won't happen thoroughly in a one paragraph review.
