Wonderful service, and indoors where the warmth cab envelope is. Every precaution is being taken for the Covid, but everyone is taking it really seriously. Wonderful people serving and the kitchen is taking the same precautions. The food is as you would expect. The steak was juicy and amazing. My fiancé had the gnocchi and it was, as she says, better than anything she has ever had. The wine was phenomenal did the selection is what you'd expect from a 4-5 star restaurant. I was hungry for a good Bolognese! I went to a few places which was not quite what I was looking for. My pasta was delicious! The service was good, not that much wait for my food, and everything was great. The only thing I didn't like, it was my lemonade glass, that I thought it could fall on me at anytime since the table had some pad underneath so didn't keep the glass straight, and the table kept moving side ways. This was our first visit and food was yummy here, that's not the problem. We ordered the calamari, which was the typically calamari plate, nothing special but good. I got the squid ink plate and my husband got the veal, both good in their own ways. Staff, well... kinda sucks. Took 15 mins before the waiter came to the table, wasn't very polite, didn't give recommendations really, and kept leaving with no where to be seen. Whole meal took about 2 hours. read more

I was really craving black squid ink pasta for some reason and Carmine was one that is close to the hotel that serves them. After reading the reviews here on Yelp I decided to give it a try. I'm actually fairly disappointed. The pasta wasn't flavorful as I thought it would. It was pretty good serving size with abundant seafood but it wasnt flavorful. I had the shrimp appetizer with tomato sauce and both dishes tasted like the seafood was cooked in hot water and mixed into the sauce last minute. You don't taste the sauce in the seafood unless it had a spoonful of sauce. The waitstaff are really nice and follows up with you as the food arrives. It definitely have an old school Italian restaurant feel to it where most of the diners on a Tues night are regulars who the wait staff knows by name. I can't say I would come back and if I do ill stay away from seafood. read more

Everything about this meal was phenomenal. The salads are a great portion, the wine list is extensive and has something for everyone, and the pastas are delicious and cook perfectly. Ambiance is upscale, and I would recommend coming in for a special occasion. With that being said, the bar area was lively for a Monday afternoon, with the bar area practically full. It's a fancy place, and it's really good at that. The décor is very beautiful, you come in through the under-the-vine heated outdoor dining area and the interior is gorgeous too. Parking is easy under the building and they validate it. Unfortunately I found the food rather bland and expensive for what it is. The bread was great. I had the cream of mushroom soup and the rigatoni bolognese. The soup is blended, similar to what you could make at home with no mushroom chunks in it. It tasted alright and was good to eat with the bread. The bolognese was al-dente which is good but the sauce really needed garlic, salt and herbs to make it pop. It wasn't bad or anything, just that I can definitely make way better sauce myself. I also tried my girlfriend's ink squid and didn't like it, but I won't judge since seafood isn't my thing. Tonight was our second time at Carmine's in a many months. We were celebrating our anniversary and based on our previous experience here we expected a great evening out. The food was exceptional - the steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta was delicious and the charcuterie & fromage plate was a nice start to the meal. What let the experience down this evening was the service. We were greeted by a cold hostess who barely grunted as she showed us to our table in the patio. This was followed by a waiter who could not spend two seconds to hear your reply, assumed your food was "OK" and "delicious" as he made passing comments dashing by and seemed to innocently miss your request as you tried to utter a "pardon me". Our drinks came out after our stater course, which was finished and cleared from the table before we were even able to order main courses - 90 minutes after arrival. With a babysitter on the clock and a 2hr table turn around the pressure was on! The celebratory tiramasu was appreciated but it'll be a while before we visit Carmines again. read more

2 words: COVID Fiesta I set a reservation for 7:00 for my fiancé's birthday, I specifically indicated I have asthma and would require outdoor seating with the recommended guidelines. They asked us to wait until 8:30 so that we could have an outdoor table with room. I arrived and the entire restaurant was full to normal capacity and the entire patio was full of tables that were within 3 feet apart from each other, often with several tables clumped together. Not a single one of the 40+ patrons had a mask on. I also saw a party of 7 which is clearly a violation of the current guidelines. When I went to the manager with my concerns, they simply said "we cannot control the masks of our patrons and we are sorry you 'feel' this way. Thanks for ruining our celebration, I hope you get shut down for violating Inslee's orders. Fortunately I worked in an authentic Italian restaurant in my youth so I was able to quickly save the day with a home cooked pasta dish. Save yourself $$$ and mix up a ratio of 100g 00 flour and 1 egg and you will get better pasta on your own. read more

This is a super hot restaurant, it took me one month plus to get reservation. This is an expensive place, $50 per person is the minimum. This is a nice decorated place, I love that. With all these facts, my expectation to the food and service is very high, but it's not meet my bar as a "highest quality food" "best services ". Don't get me wrong, they have great food and great service, I'll definitely rate it as a 5 star if I don't need to wait one month and pay a lot for the bill. So, it's 4 star on my opinion. read more

It pains me to give 3 stars (read all the way through) because the staff were incredibly hard working but I feel compelled to share my reasons: The Pros: 8 months into COVID era, my aunts and I decided to get together for a joint bday. The ambience was wonderful, the food was delicious (with a few exceptions on some dishes my aunts had), and the speed of service was efficient. The customer service was overall very friendly too. We even received surprise birthday desserts. Such a nice treat. They were also kind to divide our appetizers and salads onto each of our plates. We left joyful and with our stomachs full. The ambience, service and my beef tenderloin :) deserve 4 stars. The cons: I hate to say this but the entire restaurant became dangerously busy and jam packed. When we first arrived, we all were spaced out with empty tables between full tables so at first, it seemed the proper social distancing was in effect. All the tables were very close to each other at which point you kind of have to maneuver around the tables and chairs without hitting them. Again, it appeared the empty tables spaced us out. Then as the night progressed, every single table became occupied. The table to my right was a couple of feet away. All of us didn't really realize how packed it was (because we were caught up in lively conversation) until we started to look around. With infection rates at an all time high in King County and COVID restaurant regulations in place, unsure how the proper infection control procedures were overlooked. I have a picture of the restaurant filled but certainly want to respect the privacy of the guests and my intention is not to shame anyone. I hope this is review is seen so that there could be some reflection of how to effectively implement proper social distancing and possibly glass partitions for the overall safety of guest. This is where I ding one star. Lastly, I understand we all are at risk of exposure whenever we go out. In some respects, (and perhaps naively), I trust restaurants to take protocols to full measure but I also understand it's my responsibility to not dine in should I feel uncomfortable. I definitely do understand that balance and this experience has made me reassess my future choices during covid. I do appreciate that guests entered and left with masks and of course, remove them while eating. All in all, if it wasn't for COVID, it was a fun girls night out. Food okay, not great but, the service was terrible. Servers are racist and it was very apparent--other reviews says the same. I don't normally write a bad review and this happened months ago but, never got the chance to write this review. It was a Friday evening, we made a reservation and got seated inside a pretty busy area. The waiter went to every table around us to take their order and would avoid eye contact with us everytime we waved to someone. Finally he came and took our order and that was the last time we saw him or any other waiter. They all walked past us and continued serving others who I noticed were all Caucasian. We were asian and my step dad is Irish so I didn't think we would get racially profiled but it was so apparent and after reading other negative reviews, it looks like others have experienced the same thing. The turning point was when we asked if they can lower the AC or have it run on swing mode so that it was not just blowing at our table and he didn't even answer, just walked away and then the AC blew even colder!!! We couldn't even enjoy our meal so it was a whole thing to wave down someone so finally, I got up and had to ask the check in girl to give us our check. We left half of our food and half bottle of wine. It was the worst experience and I am sad that we are still experiencing racism in today's world. It was a horrific experience having gown up in downtown Bellevue and then having to experience this in my own neighborhood on my mother's birthday. Racism should not be tolerated and the restaurant should take necessary steps to re-evaluate their morals and staff. read more

You can always tell how good an Italian restaurant is by their classic bolognese. Noodles were perfectly al dente, the sauce and sausage were an even serving -- all in all, not too bad, but nothing to die over. The pizza menu (which isn't immediately given upon being seated) is probably the best deal. Between the hours 4-6 (or maybe 5-6, and only in the bar), the pizzas are $10, which is a fantastic deal given the quality and ingredients used. I judge a good pizza by two things: ingredients used and the crust, which was baked perfectly. I'd opt for the pizza over the pasta. I think more than anything, I appreciated the service more than anything. The bartender was absolutely fantastic and attentive. The establishment might be a little uppity but the bartender wasn't partial to anyone. I give HIM 5 stars. read more

The veal ravioli was perfection as was the sausage for the pesto pasta dish (not gamey at all, I would like to know how they accomplished that). Second our entrees were a big disappointment $75 for lobster pappardelle small bowl and lobster was over cooked and not worth the price!! This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Bellevue, WA. It is located on a little corner right across from Bellevue Park (perfect for walk before/after dinner). There is seating both inside and outside and the people are so friendly. I have had a few different meals each time I've gone here cause the food is so good I keep going back! They offer complimentary homemade baguette and butter once seated. I love the brown brown sage gnocchi. Each bite was so delicious and enjoyable! I would definitely recommend having this dish if visiting. One large dish is the perfect amount and will leave you feeling satisfied and sad that there's no more once finished. The next visit I shared two meals with a friend of mine (better to try more things!). They were both so delicious I'm not sure which one was my favorite. We had the Fettuccine Al Pesto with chicken which I definitely will get my own dish next time! And we shared the Suprema Di Apollo Farcita which was probably one of the best ways I've had chicken! All in all I would definitely recommend this restaurant if in the area! read more

Food was ok: The bread in the complimentary bread basket was hard enough to risk breaking our teeth (no exaggeration here) and almost bland. When we talked to the server about it, they confirmed and apologized. I think this bread basket shouldn't have been brought out. The main course took a really long time to come out. The bread in our pizza was soggy - and the sauce would just slide off the pizza. I wonder if they rushed the dishes out. Makes me wonder about the quality control for the food in the restaurant. I was so excited to eat at this fancy looking restaurant and I was glad I did though check ended up fancy, too but worth it I ordered squid ink pasta as most people seemed to order. It has really lot of calamari and mussel, and cram. I suggest to ask ' al dente ' as my friend's vongole was a little soft but my capellini was perfect. Bread was crispy outside and chewy inside, tasted so good. Even water tasted good, too. I ordered cappuccino and Panna cotta for desert. Cappuccino was so strong and biscotti was very hard but so tasty. Panna cotta was a little sweet at first but just getting better and better and couldn't stop. However, pasta was so filling that I couldn't finish the desert. They gave us box to go with decorative paper bag. Servers were nice friendly Italian gentlemen( I assume). Yahoo, Carmine's is officially opened! Had an 8:30 reservation on a Friday night and arrived a bit on the early side. Due to my starvation level they were kind enough to squeeze us in. The entire place was JAMMED. We have celebrated many great dinners at the Seattle Carmine's over the years and were delighted with this new Eastside location. From the wonderful decor, to the large open kitchen (larger than the Seattle location) and stylish bar area (similar size as Seattle) with TV. We brought a few bottles of wine ($35 corkage fee). They do have a quite extensive wine menu with lots of options. Prices on a few bottles were regularly enjoy were higher here in Bellevue than Seattle?? We started with the Bruschetta sampler. Quite delicious, I highly recommend!! Our waitress was outstanding!! She went out here way, as busy as she was, to make sure we were well taken care of. Besides some menu items the only big difference between Seattle and Bellevue is the pasta is wet (fresh) in Bellevue and dry in Seattle. I ordered the bolognese with linguini and it was good but not outstanding. The pasta needed to cook more, or not how I like it? My husband and a friend had the beef special with gnocchi and it was to die for. Super good! Our other friend had the veal scaloppini and she loved it. We skipped desert. All in all we had a great night. We will be back soon! They have a great patio! Can't wait for warm weather to sit outside. read more

Wow. I've worked nearby for a year and finally have Carmines a try for lunch on a Friday. The rigatoni bolognese was amazing, the soda bread was crisp, warm, and chewy; the semifreddo....the perfect dessert to follow. Service was as you'd expect at high end dining, price was worth every penny. Make a reservation, inside is just as nice (if not better imho) as outside seating. read more

I've never loved a dish so much that I ordered seconds - until Carmine's. My coworker and I came on a business trip and wanted good Italian after a long day, and this totally hit the mark. We each had a small plate of gnocchi - mine with the brown butter, and hers with tomato sauce. They were so soft and fluffy, like little pillows. Our server came back, and offered a second plate. Where is the beef? I ordered two meals to go for Carmine's I made the mistake of not ordering the large I guess? My meal came in two leftover take home style boxes that you normally see at regular restaurants. This is how Carmine saves money I guess? The take home box and to go box are the same size box? The food was outstanding what there was of it? Paid $30 something for two take home boxes worth of food. I ordered the rigatoni it was like a half order and my girl order the carbonara which was pretty heavy so it just about right. I got screwed. I was still kind of hungry. I tried hers and it was actually really good too. I guess next time I need to pay the extra for the large.
