We're locals, and a few years ago this was our absolute favorite pizza. Then something changed and it just wasn't the same, so we stopped coming. I am *sooooo* thankful we decided to come back tonight and give it another try! We ordered our favorite--the Grandma pizza--along with an order of garlic knots, and everything was amazing. It's officially back to being our favorite pizza on the Treasure Coast! And trust me, we're pizza snobs, so that says a lot From the crust, to the cheese, to the sauce (the sauce is *the best*), it was all 5-star perfection! Thank you Carmelas! just got a margarita pizza tonight. it was poor, no cheese, little tomato, too much crust. I used to rave about this pizza, not any more.

Service was lackluster. we waited an hour for our dinner. There was no ambiance. They stuck us in a back room with no windows and weird paintings on the walls. The food was abysmal!!! They brought out our entrees with garlic rolls that were so burnt that they were black. I could have used them for hockey pucks. The fact that our waitress even brought them out was unreal. My husband's chicken marsala was doing the breast stroke with his side of broccoli it was so soupy! our leftovers went into the garbage. As soon as we got home. Not doing this restaurant again. It was my birthday dinner, and I'd been to the same old Italian restaurants in the area but wanted something new. Carmela's is not really new to me...but I kind of forgot about it. It's been probably 4 years since my last visit, but I used to go there all the time. The pizza is phenomenal...they are known widely for their Grandma pizza, which is a thin crust Sicilian pie...very large and extremely delicious. I had one with eggplant last night, and it was fantastic. I don't quite know what kind of mozzarella they use, but it sure beats any other pizza joint--it has a fresh and creamy taste that you just don't find elsewhere. The same can be said for the pasta dish I had (I know...just how much carb-loading can one person do--but it was my birthday!) I ordered the Shrimp Angelica, a great dish of rotini, artichokes, red peppers, mushrooms, and shrimp--all in a very light cream sauce. No heavy, gluey Alfredo sauce here, I don't know where they're getting their dairy products, but keep it up! The difference in taste is quite noticeable between the mozzarella on the pizza and the cream in the pasta sauce. Maybe there's a dairy cow out back, I don't know. What I do know is it's a great small place with an excellent menu. It fills up quickly, so either get there early or you might have to wait. Prices are very reasonable, and it's a warm atmosphere. The only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that the rotini was a tad over cooked. Al dente works best in pasta dishes. Try it...you'll like it. read more

I'm sure the safest bet is to just order pizza from here. Anything else may be a mistake. Not only did they get one of my orders wrong (gave me chicken parm hero when I asked for plain chicken cutlet) but there was actually hair from a pig left in my meal of pork osso bucco. My fault for ordering that at a pizza place I guess. For the price, I would have hoped they'd leave the hair out. Waste of money read more

Not a bad place to stop for some Italian themed entrees and pizza. My wife and I enjoyed the dining room, it was pleasant and comfortable. Ordered a sausage and peppers hero and a grandma pizza. All in all it tasted fine. One thing you need to understand when you go here, younger folks are your servers. Very younger folks, not that it's a bad thing, it is a bit different but I cannot say they hadn't done a good job! read more

The food was very good and the service was excellent. The 4% charge for using a credit card was a bit excessive compared to other places in Stuart that charge 3%. Look around because there are still many places that do not charge their customers for using a debit or credit card. We were not told of the fee up front. The booths were very small. read more

Absolutely love this place. The only reason I did not give it five stars is it's very dark. We are older people and it's hard to see. We had a pizza and an antipasto. I love Carmela's! Sometimes the chicken pizza tastes a little dry but I love the overall taste. My last two orders have been a large pizza half chicken half pepperoni. I love the taste of the cheese and that it always tastes fresh. It can get pricey though. But the ordering process has always been simple for me, just calling and then picking up and always in a timely manner. The garlic knots are a nice touch. Very filling! read more

So this review is only for a takeout pizza but oh my gosh was that take out pizza incredible!! Whenever we're in my boyfriend's hometown, we usually try to go to places he remembers loving as a kid and we finally got around to a pizza night! He mentioned Carmela's first but we didn't pull up that menu at first because he was worried things were going to be really expensive. After all other near by places were over priced or had bad reviews we finally dug into the Carmela's menu and WOW! Such reasonable prices for huge pizzas! We were sold! We ordered a Neapolitan Pizza with Italian sausage on one half, and four garlic knots! The pizza was $13 and an additional $1.25 for the sausage and the knots were only 25¢ each! We placed our order online and it said the food would be ready in 40 minutes. We arrived to Carmela's around 8:15 and were a little surprised at how empty the place was. Our food was ready and we asked for some Parmesan and crush red pepper to go. The staff was super quick to help us get what we needed! Everyone thanked us for our order and they were all so kind. Again WOW this pizza was so so good. Huge slices, lots of toppings, the sauce was tangy and sweet at the same time, the crust was cooked perfectly, even the bottom of the pizza was nice and crispy! But those knots *insert drooling emoji here* SO GOOD! If I could go back in time I would've paid another $1.25 for sausage on both sides to the pie and I would've ordered 10 more knots, not even joking! If you're looking for a great pizza that's reasonably priced, this is your place! I will definitely be trying to Grandma Pizza next time! Keep up the great flavors Carmela's! read more

We had dinner here the other night. Our salads were nicely sized and fresh. The pizza was delicious. Our waitress was amazing and the rest of the staff stopped by to make sure we were taken care of. Carmela's has the best pizza I've ever had outside of Naples Italy. True, thin crusted NY style pizza with a fresh tasting sauce and just the right amount of pizza and toppings. We started our meal with the chicken wings which are delicious and crispy. Our pizza was the Neapolitan style and too big for the two of us to finish. The beer was nice and cold. It was a very simple, unplanned meal out but we are glad we went. I have found my go to for pizza when in Stuart. read more
