I understand the prices of things have gone up. But how do you charge $3.98 for a bagel WITH cream cheese but there's a literal smear. Is the cream cheese in the room with us? I understand most bagels stores put 1/4 lb slab of cream cheese on a bagel. Now I'm not even asking for that. Maybe just a normal amount ? A happy medium? Something that woukdnt have made me choke while swallowing a dry ass piece of bread lol. Had I opened this bagel in the vicinity of the bagel store I would've taken it back. Do better. read more

The woman that answered my phone call couldn't understand the order I was placing. I repeated it 4 or 5 times emphasizing hot sauce to go on the sandwich. When I got home it was LOADED with ketchup. We asked for everything bagels and the bagels were stale and had no seasoning on them. I called back complaining and asking for a refund and spoke to a women at first who again couldn't understand what I was saying and passed the phone off to a man. The man was extremely rude on the phone and told me there's nothing he can do to help me and that the bagels had seeds on it so it shouldn't be an issue. He spoke over me, and told me he was too busy to take care of this. When this was Carmel Bagel- this would've NEVER happened. I've had BEC sandwiches from Dunkin that were tastier. Since the ownership has changed this facility has gone down hill and is no where near what they used to be. I will not be coming back here ever again- the language barrier is too frustrating to order with and the customer service is truly horrific. read more

Local deli with all types of menu items. They make fresh bagels and all types of breakfast items as well as burgers and wings. It's a bit confusing. They serve coffee and you can get fries with that. This is your local little family owned-ish deli (a lot of people call it bagelicious). Prices are decent, coffee is ok. Bagels are fine. Nothing extraordinary but if you're in Carmel and want basically anything even a dozen eggs, this is your place to go to. A lot of parents come here with their kids after football/soccer/baseball practice and it does get busy. The reason I'm not a huge fan of this place is because it just has way too many menu items it gets confusing. The quality isn't anything out of this world nor extraordinary. A little basic for my taste buds. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. Other than that sure, give it a try. read more

Sandwich had very little deli meat. Will not return for lunch. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches are better quality

I never leave reviews for yelp, but it's time I share my bad experiences here. I ordered two HEC(Swiss cheese)on gluten free rolls with spinach. I was charged 20$ for two HEC with American and no spinach. I had a smoothie here yesterday that had no taste. There are better delis in town, don't go here. Too expensive for people to not make what you ask for. read more

Ordered inside for to go and had to wait 30+ minutes for my food when there was only maybe 3 people in the store. They put avocado on my sandwich without asking me and when I realized and told them, the person on the phone started laughing. It used to be a good place, but it has gone downhill. read more

The bagels are great and hold up well. I've refrigerated them and just popped them in the toaster oven to bring back the freshness. Now for the negative. I get the same order every week and rarely get charged the same price. The price varies by as much as $4.00. When I've called the server on it, the common response is, "Oh they must not have charged you tax". My order is a very simple one, under $20 so how could there be $4.00 tax? Also on at least one occasion I was shorted 2 bagels. The next week when I returned I brought it up to the girl who had served me the previous week. Her response was, "Oh I must have miscounted" giggled and walked away. She didn't offer to give me the 2 bagels she shorted me the week before. Bad business practice. read more

This little place makes the BEST egg sandwich bagels ever. Often times I find vegetarian breakfast sandwiches dry and under-seasoned, but this place puts flavor and time into what they make. Bravo!!! Very pleasant ladies behind the counter at this deli. It is my go to deli in the area because the bagels are very good, the sandwiches are delicious and a good value, and they have excellent taste in cake! There's nice seating; my top choice read more

I placed an order over the phone for 4 bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches all with scrambled eggs. To my surprise when I got home, all of the egg sandwiches were fried and not scrambled. I called them to inform them I was given fried instead of scrambled, the person on the phone began to argue with me that they saw my order being made and they are scrambled. They do not know how to follow instructions from their customers nor do they have people working who understand customer service. read more

Very slow. Incorrect prices posted and the guy at the register is very very slow. They need to get it together!

Stop hiring incompetent teenagers! And closely manage any teens you do. Teens shouldn't be cooking. Only experienced short order cooks should man the grill. All too often my order is screwed up and the bagels are consistent with regards to freshness. I wish Carmel had a bagel store competitor to keep this place on its toes. They're starting to fall behind in quality and service. read more

Poor customer service skills at this establishment. And $20 delivery minimum for food and coffee to be delivered far from hot?? I wish we had more breakfast places around. Also tired of the attitude on the phone every time. read more

This is the only available option in the carmel area and its a damn shame. The bagels are small and hard as rocks. I ordered a everything bagel and had to put on my glasses to find some seasoning on it . After 10 mintues of inspecting the bagel i found that it had a pinch of poppy seeds that stuck to it . We also had the misfortune of "enjoying" a BEC on a bagel that was made so shitty the (1) egg they used was hanging halfway out of the bagel. This was a friendly reminder that bagels in Carmel suck ... oh wait all food in Carmel sucks. read more

Hands down best breakfast deli in town. Best selection of fresh bagels around. Only downside it is is often packed, but that's to be expected at such a great deli. They tried to curtail the crowd by opening a new one about 3 miles north up 52. Just as good. read more

You can't beat their selection, it's awesome! Their sandwich combinations are great! However depending on who you get to make your sandwich the quality is lacking. Sometimes we get a person that knows how to make the sandwich and sometimes we get a sandwich that is gross ingredients are old and yucky. So it all depends you can get a great sandwich or a bad one I have both when I've came . read more

I've lived in Carmel all my life, and used to love coming to Carmel Bagel. About a year ago I completely refused coming here because the customer service was so terrible. I recently came back a couple of times and was met with the same horrible service. I've never gone to an establishment where you walk in and are not greeted by the employees when there are several behind the counter that are chatting, sitting on their phones, etc. The employees looked at me and continued chatting without acknowledgement. I'll never be back. read more

Great deli! Very convenient for before work or school and is in a easily accessible location. They definitely work with you on what you want and make sure that your food is perfect for you. The pricing is cheap and great quality food. They have a ton of choices for coffee and tea as well as all other types of beverages. The employees are decently friendly to a point, but could also be that they're very busy usually. I definitely enjoy coming here and usually is a quick visit. I always recommend Carmel bagel when people don't know what they want or are having trouble deciding where to g lo for breakfast. read more

You have to have a lot of time on your hands if you want to get a breakfast sandwich here. The staff doesn't even turn around to acknowledge customers. This place is really run poorly. It's a shame. The food is decent, but I dread going there. It's the only bagel place in town, so that's what's keeping them in business. I feel it could be a great place if someone would overhaul how they run things, read more

First time trying this place today for lunch. I ordered the Veggie Lovers wrap. The guy behind the counter started making it right away but then took forever to put it together. He had to look around for each ingredient and it took a long time for a cold wrap. When he rung me up, he didn't speak or make eye contact with me. He was talking to another customer the whole time, which felt a bit rude. Still, I was happy enough to find a veggie wrap in Carmel! Unfortunately when I went to eat it at home, I found that the wrap is missing the carrots and pickle that is on their menu. Tastes like a lot of dressing. Very disappointing. Also, I was not offered the side of salad or slaw that was supposed to come with it. Yet the wrap plus a soda cost 8 dollars and change! I will not be going back. read more

A surprisingly great bagel place. A group of us stopped here on the way to the Catskills to load up on some delicious carbs before our hiking trip. We weren't expecting much but we were pleased with our breakfast at Carmel Bagel Deli...licious. There was plenty of parking in the front so we just pulled straight in. The place is spacious with several tables to sit in and a section in the front where you dispense your own coffee. There's a wide variety of interesting bagels including Pumpernickel, Egg, Sun Dried Tomato, and French Toast Bagel. I had the Everything Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese ($2.75) and my bf had the Egg Bagel with Butter and Swiss Cheese ($1.75). The bagels were fresh and well made and the cream cheese . I tried some of bro-in-law's Pistachio Muffin ($2.25) and it was excellent. Big, fluffy, green, soft, and luscious. It was sweet and very scrumptious. We also had the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin ($2.25) to go and it was yummy as well but the Pistachio Muffin is by far the best. Needless to say, if you're a chocolate lover yo won't be disappointed with the Chocolate chocolate chip muffin. Great bagels and great muffins. read more

I used to like this place...but their quality is down. I ordered a grilled veggie wrap....I get my wrap and there is a fried eggplant in it! Mind you, I ordered the Grilled Wrap because I'm on a strict diet, where I can Not have any fried foods...lord only knows why a fried eggplant showed up in my wrap!! So once I opened the wrap and pulled the Fried Eggplant out I had a big mess...and an empty sandwich! I will never go to the joint again!!! I was starving and had to get lunch elsewhere after that episode!!! Thanks for nothing!!! And the absent minded guy didn't even offer me the pickle and Cole slaw that comes with it. I had to ask for it when he gave me my change.. And after that, he forgot to put the pickle in the bag!!!!! read more

Terrible. Came here to grab some late breakfast. Every time I come in here I am accosted the minute I walk in the door. "What can I get for you?". Just a minute, I need to look at the menu. This time, a very loud and sloppy looking young man just would not stop. "What can I get for you? What can I get for you?." Just a minute, please. "oh, well I can help you you know." A-hole wouldnt leave me be. Then I get the food...an omelette...immediately I smell a horrid odor coming from the plate. I tried to take a bite but could not. It smelled nauseating and the eggs looked like slop on a plate...gross. Like this guy rolled out of bed after a night of drinking, and just looked like a sloppy person who could not cook or maintain proper hygiene. I politely told him that I would like to take the food to go, so I wouldnt have to throw it away in front of him. Just gross. Gross food. Gross personel. Yuck. Even their bagels selection is gone every time I walk in. Never again. read more

Decent bagels. Absent minded/hungover dudes didn't toast my bagels after they asked if I wanted them toasted.

So i kept seeing this place on my way to church and the grocery store, every week. And i heard tyat the owner of the place is my neighbor ( can you tell that the neighbors in this area arent taht friendly other than a mediocre hand wave). Anyway after almost 8 years of living in this area, i decided to visit this place with my sisters and omgg my life was changed. I did not know what lox spread was up until that point but omg it just the most divine thing i ever put in my mouth! We shared the lox spread on a plain bagel and the veggie spread on cinnamon raisin ( i like the sweet and savory combo, ok!) Plus a corn muffin. 5/5 for all of them. They have chairs to just sit and relax and parking as well. Definitely will go back for more! read more

I don't live or work near this place, but whenever I'm passing by I make sure to stop in and get a bagel. They're always fresh and delicious - I've never had a bad experience here. I come here probably twice a month and never had a problem until yesterday. First, I tried calling my order in and nobody answered the phone. When I arrived, I asked if their phones were working and they said yes, but the ten minutes I was inside, the phone never rang once. I ordered the protein wrap, which I usually get. This time the wrap had hardly any meat on it and they didn't put cheese on it. The sandwich was about 80% wrap. I will probably give them another chance because the food is usually good. read more

First time going to this place. Waited almost 15 minutes for someone to wait on me. The three people behind the counter seemed more interested in answering the phone and making up orders that were phoned in. Finally, a younger woman took my order. As I was waiting for my order, I saw an older woman behind the counter LICK HER FINGERS THREE SEPARATE TIMES AS SHE PACKED ANOTHER PERSONS ORDER. Disgusting. Then, someone came in to pick up a DoorDash order that was made about an hour earlier. This same woman began complaining about how she did not want the customer to be "pissed off" at them because the order was now cold. Great language for an establishment to use. I will not go back. read more

I stop here sometimes for a quick breakfast. The bagels are as close to nyc bagels as you can get around here. The service is good when Ginger is here. She keeps the kids in line. This place is terrible. It could be a great place because it is busy so the food is fresh, BUT the staff is a bunch of kids who don't care what you order, they make whatever they remember which is wrong every single time. Always the wrong food and they write it down, WHY? I usually don't review, but this deserves terrible!!! They never get my order right. Another customer was in complaining about his wrong order and the owner asked him to leave. What a terrible business owner to do that especially when you're wrong. Don't waste your time or money they're also very slow. I wouldn't mind slow if they got my order correct ever. I've had enough. read more
