If I could give no stars, I would. This place gave me the worst car buying experience ever...I knew it was too good to be true. I went to CarMax in Sterling on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and bought a Kia Optima. My husband and I selected a car that had many many scratches on it but it looked pretty good for the most part...We asked the car salesman if we purchased the car would all of the scratches be taken care of...he stated yes but let me get a manager to confirm....he brought out a manager (yet no one knows who I'm talking about now at CarMax) who confirmed that all problem/cosmetic issues would be taken care of...we even spoke with their buyer Alek who also confirmed that all issues would be taken care of as long as we made an appointment with their service department within 5 days of purchase....Long story short, we spoke with 3 different and asked them all if the problems would be addressed in order for us to make a purchase and EVERYONE stated that they problems would be fixed. My husband and I mentioned more than once to all parties mentioned above that if they could not be fixed then we did not want the car and would continue looking. They all assured me that the issues would be addressed and all apologized profusely for the fact that the car on even on the lot to begin with considering the chipped paint, scratches and ripped leather, but again everyone said the problems would be fixed and that we needed to document precisely everything that is wrong on the work order and to point everything out. So we proceed with the purchase and I make the appointment for the service department. I meet with a nice lady who does not look as confident that all will be taken care of but notes all of the problems and says her team with do their best and she also apologized for the condition of the car. She keeps me posted daily and then tells me my car is ready. I come by to look at the car and 85% of the problems have not been fixed yet I was told a supervisor inspected the car...Hardly any of the scratches were fixed so she keeps the Optima another night and says she will have her manager look at it and will get back to me tomorrow...We now it's tomorrow, did I get a call? No. So I call her and she says they fixed some of the problems but she knows I won't like it and so I should just return the car. I'm livid because I was promised by multiple individuals, two who claimed to be supervisors, that this car would be fixed and we would be on our way...Yet I was lied to by everyone. My husband called and spoke with a night time manager who said to him that they would fix the car and if it they couldn't, then we could return the car, no problems...BUT when I get to CarMax and speak to the same guy he then started back tracking stated that he didn't know if that was really possible because he doesn't make "those kinds of decisions, that guy works during the day."....Nice.....So I asked well wasn't that person here today, because that is who was supposed to make this decision today yet no one called me and updated me. Lots of back and forth, lots of him squirming and doing anything not to talk to me or give me any kind of definite answer and lots of him passing the buck to this mysterious manager who is supposed to call my husband and I tomorrow no later than 10am...not going to hold my breath. So now that I'm am exhausted with the whole thing, I am I wasting my time? Are they going to do what they promised as part of the sale or are they just going to tell me to give the car back and pick something else.....Cue the Jeopardy theme song....He says they most likely won't do anything and will tell you to give the car back if you don't want it....I am so mad!! CarMax presents themselves as upstanding salesmen, that they aren't these shady, sneaky, misleading salesmen and that is EXACTLY what they are. They all lied to me and my husband and we feel completely manipulated... I know this was long and I left out a lot more that could be expressed about the run around and lies but I wanted people to get the gist of my experience...Please think twice before you come here, my family bought 3 cars from them before I made this purchase and they treated my husband and I like suckers...Oh and the manager that told me that most likely there would not be anything else done to make the car in perfect condition stated that they will put the car back on the lot for sale... I said when you do, and the next person asks about all of the scratches, tell the truth, tell them that you are not going to do one thing to fix it, allow that person to make the informed decision that your co-workers robbed me of.
