The staff and managers are unhelpful, and they don't care if you don't come back! They do nothing to improve that. I was looking for a sabiki fishing lure and went to the front to ask for assistance and they said that someone would be there to assist. I waited but no one came over to help. I have bought dozens of sabiki lures in the in the past from this store so I went back to the front staff said they don't have them anymore. I'm so tired of Apathy doesn't sell but only motivates customers to walk out! Your in-store staff doesn't like customers but the feeling is mutual! I bought a sabiki lure elsewhere and will buy sporting goods on Amazon free from having to endure inept, non-service, no can do BS from in-store staff.

Wanted to add a safety check for skis and boots going into new season. Filled out all paperwork, passed inspection and paid for both upfront. When I came to pickup nearly a week later, and past the date I was told they would be complete, there was an issue that the heel plate was worn down just over the allowable threshold. REI will not make adjustments or anything to skis/bindings. I was told I got a voicemail, but I never received a call. Pulled up my cell phone record on the spot. Worst of it all, they did not even do the wax. So my skis just sat at this location for a week, with my money, and then I picked them up and got my money back and nothing but wasted time.

She gave me the same response and I explained it was a Christmas present and that I JUST needed the size (which was also the last one). I also explained that I live far away and it's hard for me to get over there in which she responded "well I commute from san diego so I think you'll be fine..." It ended up with her telling me she'd put it back on the floor after they closed and I might want to be there at 7 am on Christmas eve so I could get it...Christmas eve is my only day off from work besides Christmas, I really would rather not wake up before the sun to trade a shirt. Honestly, I work retail to so I understand the stress of the holidays but their customer service is probably the worst I've ever had. Not only that but the first guy I spoke to never told me their hold policy to begin with so had I known that I wouldn't have even bothered.

The young floor staff were quick to check on you if you needed anything or had questions. When we asked a question, they were quick to answer with enthusiasm. For the most part the store is clean and organized. I still find some of the merchandise to be on the upper end if you were to do comparison shopping. But, it looked like they had some good deals. But when you've got 20+ pieces of non-sale items sitting in the middle of a rack clearly marked for a discount, that's just bad practice. Feels less like shopping and more like a setup. First asked for clarification about how discounts work. Then a price check. After the sale I walked over to confirm sign. Someone asked me "can J help you", I Asked if this is how they normally do things? And got a casual "yeah" and a shrug. No effort to make it right, no attempt to meet halfway. He took the time to perform a fit test to evaluate her stance and better understand what type of shoe would best suit her lifestyle and needs. My mom is always hesitant because most stores never have her shoe size in stock, but Adam patiently listened to her concerns and managed to find three different pairs for her to try. What impressed us most was that all three were styles she never would have considered on her own, yet they were incredibly comfortable and fit her perfectly. There is nothing more important than having comfortable shoes. Our feet support our balance and mobility every day, so finally finding shoes that provided both comfort and style meant the world to her. She was so excited that she immediately changed into her new shoes and wore them for the rest of her vacation, constantly commenting on how comfortable and stylish they were. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience or outcome.
