1st timer. The Maple Breakfast sandwich was very good. Service was quick and the staff was well tuned to the morning rush hour, I was out in no time. There are two drive thru windows one for driver patron and the other for passenger patron I thought that was clever and efficient. Plenty of parking and great options for walk up patrons. We ran through the drive thru at this Caribou Coffee and it was our first time trying it. I ordered a large oat milk sugar free caramel latte and my husband had the Açaí lemonade energy tea drink. The drinks were good, my husband said his was very flavorful and had a nice punch to it. My latte was good as well. The drive thru speaker on the passenger lane does not work well and we had to turn our vehicle air conditioning off to even hear them at all. It took a little longer for them to come to the window once we got up there but the barista was nice and our drinks were made quickly once she got our payment. This is a drive thru coffee shop so there is no ambience. We would come back if we want a beverage to go. I typically prefer sit down coffee shops but this is good if I am on the go. read more

This is for the customers service. I explained what I wanted and they said yeah we can do that. I wanted a hot nitro ( which is usually cold) and asked if they could steam the milk and make it in a medium ( with extra milk not extra nitro). I got a cold drink with room temp foam on top. I asked how to better order next time cause this is not hot. He said just the way you did ( which notice- did not get the drink I wanted or even asked for). He asked if I needed a straw and I flat out said "no this is wrong and I am pouring it out" and he said have a nice day. I poured it out in their parking lot. If i want crappy beverages I will go to Quik Trip where at least I can get it hot! This happened 5 minutes ago. I am hotter than the drink right now. read more

Clocking in at 3.5 stars, this Caribou Coffee wins on drive-thru convenience and A-OK coffee. We were heading out to a fall weekend event and our favorite local shop happens to be closed on Sundays. We Yelped into the Caribou drive-thru and I went with a cold brew that was tasty, and my wife went with a Mocha that was fine if not overly sweet. They got us through quickly and were friendly along the way. While I spend a lot of time inside coffee shops, I'm starting to find the appeal of drive-thru's as I move around town more often, especially with a baby and doggo by my side in the car. There are only two Caribou's in the KC Metro. This one is a Drive Thru and I frequent this one when I'm the area. It's a bit pricey for what you get. For the most part I like Caribou's brewed coffee and when they have Obsidian it is always a good day. Today I ordered a Medium Latte with an extra shot and wondered if I actually got my extra shot. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie to go with it and it was OK too. I do have to give this Caribou props for its efficient and friendly drive thru staff. It's the drive thru and the fact that I can get a consistent cup of coffee that is palatable that keeps me coming back. I am just finding that there is a focus on the super sweet fru fru coffee at Caribou and not so much attention to coffee for the purists, like me, who don't like sweet coffee. read more

Not sure why this got bad reviews, although I guess I haven't tried much of the menu. I usually stick with the thing I like the most and don't venture out. I have been going here in the mornings quite frequently and even though the line is usually quite long, it goes pretty fast. Everyone there has always been friendly (sometimes too friendly if you're a grumpy morning person like I can be). Either way, I have always gotten the Northern Lite Vanilla Latte with the Chicken Apple Sausage Daybreaker sandwich. Although it's not quite Starbucks when it comes to the coffee, it's still pretty good. Where this place beats Starbucks is the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich (daybreaker). We just visited this location for a cup of coffee & a latte. The order guy on the intercom told me "this isn't Starbucks" when I attempted to clarify the size I wanted by asking if their medium was comparable to a grande. Then the young lady at the window acted like a true smile might break her trite resting face when I asked if they do anything for birthdays and was told "no". When my fiancé jokingly asked if she would sing happy birthday to me, he was totally joking!, she didn't even crack a grin. It's freaking coffee. I'm not even a huge Starbucks fan BUT the nearest location to this Caribou Coffee has 4 stars vs their 3.5 AND they give you a free drink for your birthday! So there! My Tassimo makes better lattes. However, sometimes in the morning, I just don't wanna make anything for myself. I prefer to pay someone else to make stuff for me, and in this case, I wanted to try Caribou once and for all. The drive thru was quick and the service very friendly. And not overly friendly either, which always irks me when I'm in a morning 'mood' and I don't want to be effed with by the staff of any establishment. The northern lights latte was overly sweet but I got over it. I could still taste the espresso, so that saved it. I also got the veggie breakfast sandwich and it was fairly gross. It tasted like pesto gone wrong! Add a dash of cardboard, and you've got their veggie breakfast sandwich. Blah. I'll give them another try, only because the service was good and I didn't spit out the coffee and curse myself all day for getting terrible coffee. read more

Its my morning stop during my work commute. Two drive through lanes with quick service that is always friendly. I have YET to receive a burnt cup of coffee which I can't say the same for Starbucks. This location has two lanes for their drive thru. Being my first time there they were very nice in giving me plenty of time to look over all the variety of things to choose from. She also let me know to ask if i had any questions, which i certainty did! When i pulled up to the window it was a little odd. I was giving my money out of my right window! She was very considerate and giving me time to get my money. she also had to basically stick half of her body out of the window to give me my iced coffee! She made it very easy for me tho. They have really good coffee but my favorite is their matcha latte! I always get mine with coconut milk and it's the best in town.

I absolutely LOVE this coffee shop. The flavor is great and the aroma is magnificent. I always get one of there specialty drinks like the campfire mocha. It has ground up chocolate bar in it to give it an even more robust flavor. The only negative I see is it is a tad bit pricey and it is only a drive-thur. You cannot go inside and enjoy a book or get some work done. read more

faceless starbucks clone, but a couple steps down. only went here because i drove like 3 miles along the hell that is SMP and couldn't find local coffee to save my life. wasted gas and had to finally settle on the original choice-- friggin caribou. coffee seemed fine. nothing special in terms of service or flavor. location is a weird, corporate coffee shack with two women working inside. some lame schedule in the background with motivational stuff written about which kinds of product the women were supposed to push to customers. shack looked it could've been a burger time in its former life. dear meriam/shawnee you're not that small and have roads with 596,000 cars going by every minute. isn't it time you have some decent local coffee? read more

I stop here when I am running really late and really need a mocha. The service is very fast and very friendly! The double drive through helps a lot!!! The mocha tasted great (a bit weak maybe but I am not a huge coffee fan so I'm cool with that). I loved that I could make it a dark chocolate mocha and use an alternative to milk! I tried their veggie breakfast sandwich - not impressed. The center was still frozen. Even if it had been thoroughly warmed it was bland, so it is still a no go for me. Very decent coffee if you like the sweet stuff, which I do. However, they tend to overdo it on the syrups, so one sip could put you in a diabetic coma!! My favorite is the zebra mocha, they let you pick which chocolates (milk, dark, and/or white) and there's no syrup, so it's only mildly shocking to the tastebuds. Coffee is of course a personal taste thing; some like S-bucks, some prefer Caribou, others Scooters. If you're looking for a top-shelf espresso pull, a drive through isn't going to be your best bet. I visit this location at least 3 times a week as I work very close. The staff is really friendly and always engage in conversation, which is certainly welcome. Sometimes I don't have time for my morning coffee and wait til the afternoon, and their coldpress is always fresh, unlike the burnt, bad taste of starbucks iced coffee by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I am impressed by most things about Caribou, except the price. It is usually about a dollar more expensive than starbucks, which is already pushing it for plain iced coffee. Overall, though, I wouldn't frequent it if I didn't enjoy it. Good job, Caribou, even though you're a chain. read more

I love iced Americano. It's a simple beverage but a hard one to perfect. But this place has managed to surprise me every time with a perfect, well balanced iced Americano, not overly bitter or watered down. Absolutely disgusting customer service!!! I ordered two large vanilla latte's no foam. Easy order. They forgot to put the vanilla sweetener in them. So I took them back (5 mile dr), and told them that they were not right. Instead of correcting the issue, this person that I couldn't tell if it was a male or female, handed me money back. I said I didn't want my money just fix the order. The person replied "I don't think I could make an order to your satisfaction". At this point I didn't care to let them try. This Caribou has great service and the coffee is not over roasted like Starbucks. The dark chocolate mocha is also the best I've had.

Limit their coffee types after 10am and then give you attitude when you ask them why. Will be going to coffee shops that offer what I want, not what the coffee shop wants to serve me when it is convenient for them. As for service, it doesn't matter what you do in life, if you do not give respect, don't expect to receive it. read more

The coffee and other drinks are fine, but service can be sketchy at times. I don't know if the times I've gone have different people on those particular days/times, but I think they have their fair share of employee turnover. If they want to make their daily trivia question a bit more fun, they should give more than 10 cents off for getting it right. How bout 10%? The small ski slope of an exit onto Shawnee Mission parkway isn't quite conducive to a very hot beverage. Make sure that lids on good, but be ready for your coffee to spit out the opening if you don't take the exit slow. read more

Caribou is on my way to work so I stop there regularly. Unfortunately the past few times, I have not had a good experience. In fact, I've been quite disappointed. I typically get a regular coffee with milk and sugar, and for the third time in a row, my coffee was lukewarm this morning. There's nothing like expecting a cup of hot coffee on a dreary day like today only to be surprised by a barely warm first sip! Also, last week when I pulled up, I watched the girl prepare my coffee and she emptied the packets of sweetener into the cup and didn't even stir it before putting the lid on and hanging it to me. That being said, I probably will not be returning to this location.. when I'm paying $3.60 for a regular coffee, it should at least be hot and stirred. read more
