I recently had a very challenging problem with my car and I am very pleased with the excellent service provided by Dan and the team at Cardinal Plaza Shell in resolving the issue. My car was leaking brake fluid, but it was not obvious as to where the leak was coming from and it appeared to only be leaking during really cold weather. After an initial investigation it was thought that it was within the bracket holding the brake lines, so that was replaced and as the part had to be ordered, I was provided one of the loaner cars in the meantime. Having received the car back one evening, the next morning I noticed the leak again, so I took it back and was given the loaner again. Dan worked with the technicians to perform another investigation which determined the master cylinder was leaking and eventually discover that it was related to the clutch, not the brake. As a result, it was necessary to perform another complicated procedure to repair this. Rather than charge me for this additional repair as well, Cardinal Plaza Shell decided to not charge me any additional amount as the original repair didn't resolve the issue. Not only was there no additional charge, but I also had the loaner car for a whole week at no charge. I sincerely appreciate the decision taken here as it demonstrates an utmost commitment to a loyal customer that has been with them for many years. A big thanks to everyone at Cardinal Plaza Shell. I cannot say enough about the customer service at Cardinal Plaza Shell. I don't usually write reviews but my experience yesterday prompted my joining Yelp in order to get the word out about this service station. I brought my bike to the station to fill the tires, and when I arrived I saw one of the employees helping an elderly woman fill the tires in her car. When she drove off, I brought my bike up to the deck, and the employee explained that this particular pump didn't usually work on bicycles, but suggested that we give it a try, and if it didn't work he had a hand pump in the office. While he was assisting me he explained about max. tire pressure - I had always filled my tires to the maximum pressure - wrong thing to do! I have brought my vehicles to this particular station for over 20 years and this level of customer service is typical for them. When my last car did not pass inspection, they advised my that it was probably time to get a new car - it was going to cost a bundle to fix the car, and it was at an age where it would "nickel and dime me". I really liked this car and did not want to get rid of it - I can't imagine another service station advising me to trade in a car that would bring them income. Very honest and trustworthy. read more

This is our neighborhood service station and I have been taking my cars to them since 1994. The service personnel have always been patient, courteous, helpful and very good about coming through on a last minute request. When I was travelling frequently, it was very comforting to know that if my wife had any car problems she could just drive in and they would take care of her concern and I could trust them to deal with her honestly and fairly. Several times they corrected or fixed problems at little or no charge such as replacing light bulbs, checking tires for leaks and adding air, or diagnosing unusual noises for potential problems. Several times my cars have failed inspection and I appreciate that they gave me alternatives and options to resolve problems. I appreciate the estimates they provide for service and the fact that they have no problem if I take my car to another service station if it offers me a significant cost saving or other benefit. read more

Cardinal Plaza Shell is tops for great service and big savings. As a loyal Cardinal Plaza Shell customer for over 30 years, I highly recommend them for their honest, top-flight service. Also, I have had all of my new vehicles serviced at Cardinal Plaza Shell, enjoying big savings in the process. Here's how... Cardinal Plaza Shell is certified to provide all the periodic service necessary to keep your vehicle current for warranty purposes. In doing so, you can save thousands of dollars by not having to pay dealership prices for factory-warranty service. So there you have it...top-quality, professional service and big savings. Plus, they provide "white glove" service, meaning that, for no extra charge, they will come to your house and pick up your vehicle for you and take it to the shop for service. Then they'll bring it back to you when it's done. You just can't beat that! That's why I highly recommend Cardinal Plaza Shell! read more

Cardinal Plaza Shell has high service professionalism that extends help to customers even when traveling. For example: We inspected and prepared the car for a trip to the west coast and in California the brakes failed. The local repair shop wanted to charge an outrageous amount and we were also concerned that something went wrong with the inspection. Cardinal Plaza Shell contacted the local repair shop, got them to itemize their work estimate and based on their own inspection of the problem authorized only a fraction of the work--work really needed only. Cardinal Plaza Shell was our advocate and expert and prevented exploitive charges for us. They also provided confidence in the quality of the diagnostics being done. This is not the first time they have advocated for our family members who are on military assignments around the US. Its more than business--now its friendship. I never thought the supply chain would impact me to the extent that it did. I have been without a car for 3 month 5 days (but who's counting). My 2012 Fiat's onboard computer died on 4/17. I had it towed to Cardinal Plaza Shell and since that time they (and Level 5 Solutions) have been working diligently, patiently and persistently to get my car up and running. It involved shipping the computer back and forth to California, but success at last. My car was built before Fiat was owned by Chrysler which made the programming beyond difficult. This station is in my neighborhood, the owner coached my son's soccer team when he was 4 (26 years ago). I trust them to do right by me. It makes me feel like I live in a small town where local merchants know you. Do yourself a favor and visit Cardinal Plaza Shell! read more

I have been a customer of Cardinal Plaza Shell for almost 20 years. For nearly 20 years, I have received excellent service. The staff have integrity, honesty, and know true customer service. They are always kind, friendly, and efficient. I also love how they give back to the community through their coat drives, stuff the truck, and contributing to Operation Starfish and other great organizations helping others. I have not used anyone else nor would I trust anyone else as much I trust Cardinal Plaza Shell. I also highly recommend them to friends, and colleagues. Thank you for the many years of service and awesome work. read more

We buy gas here all the time and love the holiday decorations to boot! I brought my Toyota van in for repairs because I knew I needed an axle replaced and my experience with this shop had been good in the past. My neighbor has brought her vehicle to Cardinal since the early 1980s and raves about their service. Although it took a second visit to get my repairs completed, Cardinal did not charge me for the additional parts or labor. The technicians, Chris and Zach, were courteous and genuinely interested in making sure everything was right. I plan to return for service in the future. Brian B. read more

We've been loyal customers of Cardinal Shell for more than ten years. We've stopped going to the dealer for anything other than warranty items because of how much integrity Cardinal Shell has. They recommend work according to whether it's immediately necessary or something to keep in mind in the future. Their staff is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. In this day in age, so few service companies as trustworthy as Shell. They've earned our business indefinitely as long as it continues to be honest and reasonably priced. read more

Outstanding place! I've been a customer since 1988. Over the years, they have proven reliable and capable. They do what they say they'll do at the estimated cost. Also, if it turns out that there's no problem, they tell me straightforwardly, even if they've already ordered a part! Most recently (July 2017), my car had a "problem" that I was prepared to pay to diagnose, let alone fix. They found the "problem" -- I'd overlooked a switch. Problem solved, at no cost! I recommend Cardinal Plaza Shell very highly. read more

Absolutely fantastic! First time using these guys and I'm coming back for all services. Mr. Tire in Fairfax Station ruined my car by misconnecting two spark plug wires. After keeping the car for 4 days they gave it back with a check engine light permanently on. Nothing they could do. Cardinal Shell found the problem immediately and was quite inexpensive. The owner gave me a ride home to Burke and said they would pick me up when the car was done. Fantastic service and very friendly staff. read more

I've used these guys for almost 25 years. They stand behind their work and I strongly recommend them. I had one minor issue with them about the wrong work being done, and they fixed the problem immediately and to my complete satisfaction- and at no charge. They may not be the cheapest around town, but they provide quality for value. Unlike a lot of other stations, they've never tried to add on "extras" or sell me something. They are always courteous and professional. read more

Highly recommend this Shell Repair Shop. My family has gone to them for service for a very long time and they have been able to fix any problems we've had with each of our cars. They take pictures of problem areas and give estimates out so you know what is to be done and how much before you ok the work. If not, you can take their estimate and pictures and have a second opinion. Never had a problem with them and their customer service is one of the best. read more

I was concerned that my battery might be ready for replacement during the polar cold snap. The team at Cardinal Plaza Shell ran a quick free diagnostic on it and found it to be functioning on almost complete capacity. Now I can drive with confidence that my battery won't fail me. I've been a Cardinal Plaza Shell customer for twenty years. They're the best at what they do, and they also help out many great charities --- local and national. read more

I have used Cardinal Plaza Shell to keep my aging Infiniti running like a top for the last 8 years. They are considerate, helpful (thanks for all the rides to and fro, guys!), and knowledgeable. I do not fell that anything they've worked on has ever been unnecessary. Prices are not cheap, but I feel they are fair and in line with other work in this area. I will stick with them as long as I live here. read more

Family owned and operated, and you can tell! From the thoughtful decor they use around their building (with seasonal rotations too!), to the sparkling clean lobby area, to the helpful staff - this station came highly recommended by many, and it's easy to see why. I didnt have an overall good experience here in the last few visit. The basic like oil change and flush radiator is fine but you should reconsider when its time for an inspection. They will use scare tactics and up sale you like crazy. I come to learn that they charged me more for welding/repair my exhaust than buying a new one, should have advised me that since you are the experts. read more

My experience again was stellar. Cardinal Plaza Shell picked drove me home after dropping off my car and picked me up after to retrieve it. As always, they were prompt in completing their work, respectful of my time; expectedly informative and most importantly, did not attempt to sell up, rather, they told me what I didn't need. Great work team. read more

I had a variety of maintenance jobs done (radiator flush and fill, belts replaced, front brakes replaced, oil change, cabin air filter replaced, etc.). They were friendly, efficient, dependable, and seemingly honest. They're not the cheapest, but I think the value of their work and their attitude towards the customer are exceptional. read more
