Michael owns this business and does the work himself. I am intensely detail-oriented and am super-picky and usually on top of any contractor that does work for me. Michael is a perfectionist with his work so I was able to sit back and let him work without interrupting him. It was great having a contractor who cared about the finished product as much as I do! Michael wasn't pushy like some contractors have been with me. I felt comfortable asking him questions about the project as he and his helper worked. As you can see in the photos, I still need baseboards. Once I have my baseboards & door moldings purchased and painted I will call him back to install them. Wow! Carraway did an exceptional job on installing our crown moldings. Every cut and every joint is just about 100% perfect. Can you believe that they installed them and then spray painted them? I am giving 2 stars, because, before our in-house appointment for measurements and "an exact estimate", Michael was very responsive and detailed. Then, during our appointment, he was very nice and approachable. Very proactive when it comes to giving advice. I felt comfortable giving him my business. But then, I got totally ghosted. I did not hear from him again; I did not get any estimate... Which is why I am not giving more than 2 stars... I wish I had the good experience that others have described. I just wanted to give my highest possible recommendation to Michael and his team at Caraway's Cabinets. They just completed a job for custom cabinets with bookcases on top for my home office and they are absolutely beautiful! My project consisted of 4 cabinets on the bottom with bookcases on top that go to the ceiling with crown molding around the top. I got multiple estimates. His price was competitive and now that I have the finished product I'm sure he has delivered the highest quality regardless of price. Michael is the nicest guy you would want to meet, is very professional and delivered ahead of schedule. I'm a hobby woodworker myself and I can tell you he treats his projects like a work of art he's making for himself. You can tell that great care went into selecting each piece of wood and the construction and finishing are absolutely beautiful. I am equally impressed with his installer Tyler. Building beautiful cabinets is only half of the job. If not installed properly, it will be look mediocre. Tyler is absolutely OCD about making things perfect! He takes his time to make sure everything is just right. He told me he installs cabinets as if they were in his own home and I believe him. All the miters on mouldings are tight and look great. He took great care not to ding anything in the house or the cabinets and finished up by polishing them and vacuuming my carpet. Where do I start. I contacted Caraway's cabinets to install my new dual wall oven, but the existing cabinet was too narrow for the new oven. So, Mike had to replace the existing cabinet with a wider one. This is where things got interesting and quite frustrating. I was initially quoted 4-5 weeks for the cabinet to be built and 3 days for the install. Around 5 weeks later, he brings by the unstained cabinet, with no drawer or cabinet doors. He tells me that he will stain the cabinet in my home and, I was fine with that but was concerned with the fumes. He installs the cabinet, puts in the dual wall oven, I was extremely excited with the progress thus far. Here's when the problems started and last for around 4-5 more weeks and are still going on. First issue was the cabinet doors were not the correct one. He said he received the wrong doors. He says the correct ones will come in the next day. Well, that never happened. The person who Mike was using to fabricate the doors, stopped responding to his calls. So, he decided to use another contractor for the doors. Now on to the staining of the cabinet. The initial stain was not the correct stain. I'm not sure how he got it wrong because he picked up a door to match the paint a few week earlier. my wife noticed the discrepancy, so he had to get the correct stain. Once he found a comparable stain, he had to again re-stain the cabinets subjecting my family to that smell once again. Also, the person who he contracted to complete the stain failed to show up to for the touchup, citing he wanted to do it all at once, but he never came back. Mike continued to assures me this has never happened and he was extremely embarrassed with the delays and workmanship. But he would get it fixed. Mike then tries to fix the touch up, but it got worse. He then had to contact someone else who did a really great job to fix Mikes failed touchup effort. This person had to restain the entire cabinet with an additional coat due to the previous stain being too light. At this point we are several weeks over schedule and getting really close to Thanksgiving. This entire process started at the end of August. Mike has had to come back several times before it was close to being finished, but it's still not completely done to satisfaction. I texted Mike a few pictures that show areas that still need addressing and he has yet to respond. Other issues we experienced: Door patterns don't match existing. Mike lost the original door hinges. He didn't repaint the floor molding; they still have stain on them. The wall still has some stain spots on it. He didn't leave the touchup paint. He said it had too much lacquer in it. Mike is a really nice guy, but the work he did for this project, including the delays, was very disappointing. read more

Caraway's Cabinets I initiated all contact about the cad drawings, contract, and installation. He only gave me a two days notice of when he would be installing the office. The cad drawings lacked a file cabinet and a pencil drawer. I caught the error with the file drawer and later verbally stated I wanted a pencil drawer, but not a keyboard tray. He completed the office and there was still no pencil drawer. He installed a bookshelf that had shelving that was too short in height (7") to hold any books. His response was that the height of the bookshelves was included on the cad drawing, but that information wasn't included on mine. He charged me to remove the middle shelf to make the bookshelf functional. If you hire Michael, be sure you know how to read cad drawings. He installed the hardware for the hanging files an inch off each drawer and didn't have the hardware for all the drawers. He also charged me to install the pencil drawer, which doesn't look right, but it serves it's purpose. After giving him money for the cad drawing, he upped the estimate by $500 without any changes on my part. His estimate was already higher than the others I reviewed. He comprised initially to half way between his original estimate and the new one. However, upon completion (with all the extra charges) I ended up paying him $550 over his original estimate to repair errors that I think he should have noticed. The office is now finished. The drawers on the desk are not flush. The edges are rough. The overall turnout of the office is okay, but I should've went with another company. I would not recommend using Caraway's Cabinets. read more

After a major master bath remodel, I wanted to have a professional installation of a linen tower, a over the john cabinet, and a mirror. I checked online for reviews and found Caraway Cabinets. I sent message and was immediately contacted by Michael. He scheduled for me quickly. Being that the cabinet was large and heavy, I instructed it would need two people to move. Tyler showed up at appointed time to get cabinets ready to move by taking off cardboard, removing drawers and doors so that it would be lighter to carry. Michael arrived a short time later. Both Michael and Tyler were very personable and efficient. I immediately felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. They moved the cabinets into my bathroom and kept me involved to make sure they were where I wanted them to be installed. They reassembled my linen tower once it was in the bathroom. You can tell they are professional and have been doing this long enough to be efficient and thorough. They made sure all the doors and drawers were fitted properly.
