The worse customer service I've encountered in awhile. Have been dealing with service manager PJ and it's been a bit of a struggle. I am in Cincinnati OH and sent my son there to get his car repaired. Both front axle Long story short, after a few weeks, my son's left tire fell off because two pins where missing from the CarX repair, which also let to brake work. I have photos. When I called to report on May 20 after paying another 1k to get it repaired they promised to reimburse. It's July 19th and paperwork was submitted July 5th. Still awaiting approvals as of today. Every correspondence has been lead by me. No communication or just genuine "we wronged the customer, let's make it right" attitude. Very disappointing. So my husband decided to try and save money and do the brakes on my car and after his project there was a weird noise that would not go away in the tire. So we decided to drop it off over here because this was the only location that was open and I couldn't drive around with the noise. Within a couple of hours the issue was fixed come to find out it was just a small bolt that came loose. They did not even charge me that much nor did they try to sell another product. Usually when you go to get your car fixed you're lucky if you walk out the door spending less than $500. We ended up taking our pick up truck for an oil change and I was surprised at how reasonable the pricing is for an oil change for a large pick up truck. I highly recommend this place you'll definitely get honest service for your car. I will be bringing back another car to get the convertible top fixed. This is definitely the place to get your car fixed if you live in the area. Definitely will be returning ! read more

I was a loyal customer for over four years. This year I noticed about the dishonest and poor job after I got my regular oil changed. They charged high for synthetic oil, the moment I left the building, my car was running weird like I was pulling an empty metal. 3 miles away my car it did broke down..my car is only 4 years old, bought brand new. Stay away from this place. Kept my car for month trying to diagnose a charging issue. Had to tow the car out of the shop to the dealer, cause it wouldn't start after they couldn't figure out the problem. Dealer found starter was not wired back properly after this place tries to diagnose issue with a new starter. Cost me tow fees and repair from dealer. This place refused to reimburse me. Certainly 5-star, as good as it gets! Needed one tire mounted. Sam not only made it a very easy and pleasant experience, but also charged a very reasonable price. I get tires mounted often, change rims depending on several factors. Quite a few places try to sell me their tires, and/or charge unreasonable amount. But, this experience was different. Terrible service and very rude. I took my car in because it was mysteriously shutting off for no reason. When they "fixed" my car it shut off again while my brother was driving it. When I called them about it they mocked me and insisted that the repairs were necessary despite the fact that the car was still broken. I asked for restitution and the store manager hung up on me. When my brother and I went to the store the store manager again mocked us both. I made a call to the corporate office because of his behavior. I took my car twice and they did not fix the problem. and then he took them back to fix the suspension problem and they didn't want to because they wanted to charge me more money. for the same problem as they inspected it when I took it and they said that everything was fine and now that I have to change another part that is damaged they are the culprits who did not check the problem well. I do not recommend the car x of elgin at all. they are not professionals. Eduardo did not want to fix the problem. he wanted to charge me more. money. for something that they themselves did wrong they changed parts that were not. bad service. read more

My vehicle was sent to them by Carvana. The engine light is on and it sputter s as you come to a stop. By the way it is still doing that and thy have not fixed it. Now I don't want to take it back to them. Thursday afternoon I dropped it. they called the next afternoon. According to the mechanic or the person that called to let me know that two sensors are bad. They received approval for only one sensor. I suggested they change the sensor. He then explained that they would replace the second if needed, but that they will have to do a tune up and fuel injector cleaning. I asked them to change the sensor and I can do the other later. He the stated that if they did not do the tune up and the fuel injector cleanup. then they would not do the sensor either. I asked why must I do this now. I was told to come get my car if I don't want the full work done. I am a woman that knows about cars; I grew up working on them. Loved it. I figured I can do the tune up and fuel injector later, but they said now or never. I picked up my vehicle after all was supposedly done on Tuesday evening. My half tank gone. and after 20 Minutes of driving down Randall Rd. The engine light went back on and the car sputtered and died. I called the shop Immediately. He said to bring it back. When I got there I requested a full detail of what had been done to my vehicle and he offered to take it for a ride the manager. We got in the car and I was telling him that I feel that the tune up and fuel injector cleanup was not something of a must as the car is still doing the same. He then denied having said that. Then he said his mechanic was gone and could not look at the vehicle. I called the police to have record of my coming to request service the officer has suggested I file a claim as this is not the first time they refuse to take car of work they did. This was literally 20 minutes later. - Do not take your car here. read more

I took my car into Car-x to get my blower motor fixed, dealt with Carlos Martinez. I dropped my car off around 2 pm on Wednesday June 24th. He called to inform me that it was in fact my blower motor, and it would take 90 minutes.. he called just before 5pm that the car was done, I missed the call, when I called back, he said how long until you're here? The stores hours are til 6pm, I said as long as it takes for a Lyft to get me there. When I arrive at 5:45, the lights to the lobby are off, and the worker is out of uniform, that's when he tells me he had to add another part that was $71.99, I've never had my car worked on and needed something without being informed prior to the work being done. when he sees me holding a carx credit card, he smiles and says we don't expect that card, I am dumbfounded because it's a namesake CC, he says he can try it, and does but doesn't go through, he says they use a different credit card.. doesn't offer to apply for me, which is how I got the useless Car-x CC I have but can not use at CAR-X, bank card it is. He never told me the actual total.. he said the part was $250. And labor is $65 tax will be about $30.. never tells me about a miscellaneous shop fee of $35 PLUS the part I was unaware he was adding.. what I thought was going to be $335. Came out to $421. Once I finally got to leave the dark lobby and into my car.. my OLD PART is just chilling in my car, and he giggles as I bring it back into the dark lobby.. thank god I paid that miscellaneous shop fee for me to have to walk back my old part to him. Thursday I call Car-x corporate what a whole joke that is, your only option is to leave voicemails.. I left at least 7. I call back the Elgin Car-x and the same worker answers the phone.. I ask him about the shop fee, he asks me if I can do math!? Well I can, and I remember exactly what you said to me, he never mention shop fees, he told me about tax. He never told me the total price before swiping my card. He never told me he was adding additional parts to my car. While I'm talking to him, he's laughing, like it's some kinda joke. He agreed to adjust my payment to take off the part he never informed me he was putting into my car, and half of the labor. So I should see an adjustment of $104.49 the man who asked me if I can do math CAN NOT in face DO MATH because he gave me an adjustment of $100. If that's what you were gonna do say that and don't say that you were going to give me half of labor fee and the full total of the part. After asking several times I finally was able to get the name of the district manager.. left at least five messages asking to please get a call back before noon, as I'd be unavailable til 10pm.. well Diane gave me a call back at 4:48. Luckily I was able to take the call, and now have heard NOTHING back since Thursday, June 25th. I have called leaving messages and have yet to receive any call back on the matter. Had I known that Car-x does NOT take their namesake credit card, and I'd be paying out of pocket, I would have taken it ANYWHERE else. This was the finally straw. We walked in stating we were from out-of-state and needed to get on the road to a family reunion as quickly as possible. The manager made our emergency his emergency, identified that our problem was a relatively quick and easy fix, and got us out of there as quickly as possible. Great customer service! Robert gave us the best quote out of five locations. We needed on our front tires new brake pads, rotors, calipers and a nail out of a back tire. We were quoted for everything except the caliper on the front left tire and the nail in the back tire. Robert called me to say for the EXACT QUOTED PRICE they fixed the other caliper and removed/patched the tire with the nail. Awesome job Robert and Car X, I will most definitely be coming back as well as spreading the good word on this location. read more

My girlfriend came home one night and couldn't remove the key from her car ignition. I have brought my two vehicles here many times and have always been treated well. We brought the car in and they said it was the ignition lock( or something ) which was a common breakdown on her cobalt. They were getting me a quote and came back only to tell us that it was a factory recall on the car and we could take it to any GM dealer and have it replaced for free. They could have done the work and charged us and we never would have known. I'm a total fan of this place and believe I'm not getting the run around when I bring my vehicle in. I was stepping out this afternoon and when I got into my car and turned it on, I got a warning that my two front tires were very low (at 26 psi). So, I called my car assistance (through my insurance, that I pay for) and, they couldn't find any towing place that helps with filling my tires with air but, they would tow me to a shop or send someone to show me where to find my car battery. I just learned that to get to the battery on my 2011 Chrysler 200 you have to remove the drivers side front tire, then the wheel well cover. Uggghhh!! Anyways... I decided to call a few muffler shops to see if they might be able to help. The first place I called could help me but they were very busy and it would be a while. Next, I called Car X and they said they could help right away and there would be no charge (unless they had to remove the tires, etc., which I understand). So, I drove the car to Car X (just a few minutes from my house) and they took it in right away, they filled all the tires with air and I was on my merry way. Replaced the caps (place I bought tires at used standard plastic caps) with correct caps w gaskets. Aired up the tires and had me on the road in minutes. Smile and handshake, no charge. Holy smokes if you're looking for a place to get your car worked on with honest mechanics, the is the place for you. These guys went well over their call to make sure my vehicle was ready to go. When I got my car back, my wife and I were trying to leave but the car kept dying... So instead of sending my on my way and telling me "good luck" they took the time to diagnose what was wrong. It turned out that a part that I had replaced the week previous was faulty. They not only took the time to remove the part for me so I could get it replaced, they took off the faulty part, kept my car in the shop until I came back with the new one, AND put it back on for me! This was just a half hour before they closed as well! These guys are top notch! They've got a repeat customer here! read more

I had my brakes done at a nearby dealership about 2 weeks ago. Came into card to get the oil change special. Cheap and quick. the manager came out and told me that my power steering pump was leaking. When into the shop and saw where it was leaking. I had been losing some fluid but not alot. Took them 3 minutes to check my car a find a problem, when the dealership I've been going to for years never bothered to check. They replaced my pump pretty quick and I was on my way I want a place that will check my car out and get it fixed. read more

Let me start by saying, previous Management no so good from about 2 years back. New Management is very good, and I have been pleased. I decided to give them another try after a coworker started taking his car back to them after they hung the new Management sign up. He used them 2-3 times no issue and was pleased so I figured they were close to work I would give it a try. Had them do an Oil Change first, they were quick and clean. Then a few months later my truck had a exhaust issue Justin listed to my problem called me timely with a diagnosis and a fair price, I gave the ok and they took care of it 1-2-3. I had the front end of my truck redone at a shop nearby. I went in to get an alignment done. They quoted $50.00 over the phone. The truck is lifted so I expected that there may be some added work/cost. It was in there 2 minutes and the guy came out to tell me the allignment was going to be much more extensive and was going to cost at least $400.00. That price is only IF they can use the existing control arms. I literally drove it straight from a shop where the control arms had JUST been done. I was told that they might have to replace the control arms, it would be another $360.00. I am now looking at a total of $760.00 pretax for an allignment. I took to a different tire place nearby and they hooked it up with an allignment for $50.00. It drives perfectly. This place tried to take me for a ride. Get some other opinions before you decide to have any work done here. read more

So I had a horrible sound coming from my front passenger side brakes. My husband is a mechanic but he was out of town. I called around looking for a free brake inspection. John Graziano at CarX volunteered right away. He was gracious and kind, even showing me where my brakes were bad and why they needed replacing right away. He didn't mind me on the phone with my husband talking me through the repair. He was even gracious about it when I told him I wanted to take my old brakes and rotors home so my husband could see them. Turns out they were pretty bad. I had estimates from two other entities for repairs, and Justin not only completed the repairs promptly and courteously, but for well below the other estimates. The shop has a pleasant atmosphere, and he and Miguel were taking care that the floors were clean and dry on this very rainy day. asked for a out the door price on water pump install was told $330.00 go it done the charged me $356.00 said it was for antifreeze ok well I can buy antifreeze for $10 bucks and it makes 2 gallons they might have used 1 gallon so that was bs then didn't put on water pump cover on correct gasket was sticking out on one end. forgot to put a bolt in oil dip stick that they removed needless to say I had to go back waste my time to get the cover and gasket put back on right and a bolt put back on SLOPPY WORK read more

I have been coming here for 7-8yrs. There has been a few times that I have gone in for my oil change and they don't fill the fluids.I finally got mad about it and decided to call and say something. And the managers response was come back and will top it all off, 1 and 2 reminds us to top things off next time.. I couldn't believe my ears, I pay to have my vehicle taken care of not blown off like it was nothing. Then while I was there I asked the manager, u guys just replaced 3parts but my vehicle is making a noise and the ABS pops on can u please look at them n make sure its ok. He says yes but if its something else I will charge u $50 for looking. Really??? How do I have a warrenty on something n u want to charge me to look at it if those parts r fine?? Makes no sense, I didn't ask him to figure out what's wrong w it I simply asked to check the parts they just fixed.. not hard to do. I feel like the past few times I have gone there they r getting greedy and want to charge for everything and fix things (without looking1st) that don't need to be fixed.
