I've been a customer here for almost a decade, but I am FIRMLY committed to no longer doing business with anywhere that charges this 3% fee instead of simply including it in their prices. Also, the 3% surcharge is not mentioned anywhere on the written estimate I was given, and wasn't point out until after the work was done and I was about to pay. Then, after I indicated that I wasn't happy, I was told by the guys working the desk that EVERY shop in the area is doing this. So I decided to call, and after 5 shops that are all within 1 mile of this shop, literally NONE of them are doing this. Don't get me wrong. I like the guys at Douglas. But Even more than that, I really don't like being lied to. I won't be going back.

Brought vehicle for diagnosis. Air conditioning stopped working. 2020 Subaru Forester…read more Paul was very friendly when we dropped vehicle off. He calls the next day to lie to my face and tell me that it is the blower motor(which was incorrect) that because it is a newer vehicle I could not get an "aftermarket" part. This was most likely done because I was a woman. Paul didn't realize I was raised by my dad who is a mechanic. So I finished the call with Paul playing the "damsel in distress" begging him to save me. I then hung up the phone and called autozone. When Autozone confirmed they had the aftermarket part in hand for 50% less than Paul wanted to charge me, I called Paul back Initially, Paul ate crow and agreed to install the part I purchased. But of course wouldn't guarantee the work. I said, It is a simple install. The part has a lifetime warranty its fine. So I dropped off the part. Paul of course was nowhere to be seen. The mechanic grabbed the part and walked away. Paul was quick to call me up as soon as I turned out of the parking lot to tell me the part was wrong. I told him I would be picking my car up. I walked in, they had supposedly my blower motor(from my vehicle) on the counter next to the one I purchased, however, it had an extra piece protruding from it to make it look different. I told them to give me my car and it escalated into a screaming match. They were going to charge me 149 to diagnose after giving me a 488 total charge which included parts, labor and diagnostics. Luckily Paul's temper got the better of him(he didn't like being called out for his lack of integrity). He said he didn't want my money and I waited in the parking lot for over 30 minutes while they"put my car back together" Hey Paul, it wasn't the blower motor you moron! Don't assume every woman who walks in the door knows nothing about cars. Integrity goes a long way in life Paul. Chalk it up to a lesson learned and do better next time! Be blessed!

I visited this shop for the first time with a rattling sound in the front end of our minivan. Ron,…read morethe owner, said he would be happy to take a look at it right away and give me a quote. Since I don't know much about automotives, I figured I was going to be taken for a hefty bill. Ron took a look at my vehicle and within 30 mins had diagnosed the problem. The Sway Bar Link on the right side needed to be replaced. To have it replaced, it would cost me $98 (parts, labor, and tax included). Ron could have told me anything and potentially charged me my left kidney AND my first born. Yet, Ron was honest and very quick. I definitely trust him and his wife, Laurie the "treasurer", for all my future automotive repairs. Please give Ron a chance and you won't be disappointed. Hopefully this review helps others. Take care and God bless!!! Subsequent Review: I had a situation arise last summer where I needed to drive down to Carbondale for an important family event. Naturally, the check engine light comes on a day before our departure. I took it in immediately and explained my dilemma. Ron said he'd give it a quick look (despite being really busy). Shortly after lifting the van, he told me what the issue was. I told him there was no way to do the work at this time, due to both the finance of the repair and the time restriction. I asked Ron, "Would you feel safe driving your family 600+ miles on a 3 day getaway despite what you found?" He said, "It'll be fine! See me when you're ready and have a safe trip." We went on our 3 day getaway and got back safely without any issues. I believe his decision to encourage us to go on our trip speaks volumes about his knowledge of vehicles, his confidence in his evaluation, and their comfort of knowing I was coming back to them for the repair. While the repair was expensive, as automotive repairs can be, I am confident they gave me the best possible price they could (of course Laurie was able to help out with the price). More importantly, they are a Christian couple and I truly trust them!!! Hope this is helpful. Take care and God bless!!!
