They know their stuff and they are the most honest car repair business I've ever encountered. This is officially my go to car shop safe haven lol I started by only getting oil changes here. You can read my first review below. But this second review confirms I'm a loyal customer for sure now. I finally decided it was time to get some brakes replaced. My preferred method is text and for that alone, makes this place 10xs better already for an introvert lol Texted them on a Monday and was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday. Which I'm surprised since it's close to the holidays so I was mentally prepared to get a slot for the next week. I was able to drop off my car Wednesday and got a quote Thursday morning by 9am. It was a reasonable and fair price to me so all I had to do was confirm and sign from the email and my car was ready for pick up by 11:30am. Also, it came with a warranty. I also liked and appreciated that they gave me measurements on how much I had left on my brakes. I honestly would have never thought to ask or had a clue sadly. So it gave me a better understanding instead of telling me, yea they need to be done lol. They told me new brakes are 12mm and I was at 4mm for my rear brakes and my front brakes were at 6mm. So I just did my rear brakes for now. Will definitely come back to do the fronts. And I got another air freshener :) read more

My BF and I moved to the area last June and needed to find a new go-to car repair shop closer to home and we're so thankful this shop is basically walkable. They are prompt with getting back to you about scheduling service and great with communication. Very knowledgeable staff. They're also very upfront about cost and estimates. I got an oil change on my 2015 Chevy equinox and it was SO INEXPENSIVE I almost didn't believe it. They did a great job and were very thorough with any service they've done on our vehicles. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic shop. They charged me $2,000.00 to fix my oil leaks on my lower oil pan and rear main gasket. The day I pick my car up I get back home and noticed all my transmission fluid leaked out in my driveway literally within minutes of getting back home. They try to tell me they do not know what happened and that my car got disturbed whatever that means... They gave me attitude and made me wait another week to fix the transcooler line they damaged on my car because they had other cars to fix and damaging my car with their negligence was not a priority. Then I noticed my car started leaking again from the lower oil pan and rear main seal I paid them to fix. I called back to let them know I wanted my money back since they did not fix my oil leaks.. The owner Niaomi could care less and gave me nothing but attitude. Wicked Wrench refused to give my money back. They offered to try again to fix it. Why would I allow you to try and fix my car again when you couldn't fix it right the first time and then also damage my car since they do not know what they are doing and it was the two owners brother who was the mechanic. I had 3 other mechanic's two of whom have been in business for over 40 years and all 3 said it was the worst job they have ever seen. I still plan on filing a report with the Attorney General of Illinois. Do not buy into the postive reviews like I did, I should have listened to the negative reviews as they were all spot on with the experience I had. read more

I am in my mid 40s and not once in my life have I ever felt comfortable taking my car in for repair. Multiple reasons really, but overall it's a trust issue. I had gotten wind of this place when we moved to the area and to date I hadn't had a reason to go. But finally my car had a leak on the garage floor so we took it in. It's a MB so not everyone will work on it, much less charge appropriately. We got a quote on Monday and by Thursday my car was fixed. The price was beyond reasonable. I was in the process of selling my 2007 Ford Escape 4WD when the alternator crapped out. I called around and several shops quoted me over $1K to replace it because it was 4WD and that took more time to do than FWD. I decided to call Wicked Wrench and was quoted under $500. I let them know it had 4WD and they told me that it didn't make a difference. They got my business now and in the future. I had to wait approx. 1 week to get in for the service but that appears to be the norm for any good repair shop. I heard this place was very good from feedback on a neighborhood app called NextDoor. I picked Wicked Wrench based off other reviews and was not disappointed. Super easy to schedule an appointment and the after hours drop off and pick up made it very convenient. They were extremely communicative and my car was done quickly. I rarely walk out of a mechanic feeling like I didn't get ripped off but not here because pricing is transparent and she actually talked to me about what the issue might be and what to do if it persists. Best car repair experience I had in last 25 years! My car is is now reliable In fraction of the cost what others had quoted me for . Thank you to Jaime (and her group) for providing me the VIP service from the time I entered her shop. I can certainly state that honestly still exists in this country. The long part of the story is below: A year back we purchased convertible from dealer. Within few months the car was not happy and started giving all kinds of issues. The toyota dealer quoted me for 5K for fixing it. I tried to be smart and bought few parts online and had it installed from one of the different repair shops. Fast forward to last week and my car again started giving issues! I took the car to pepboys. The guys there were great and quoted me for 2.5K to fix the issues. The sad/frustrating thing was that they asked me to buy and install a costly part which I had recently replaced(rack pinon). During such times one tries to reason with himself as to which car mechanic is faithful. I was advised of Wicked wrench and with not much confidence I took my car there. What can I say that hasnt already been said in the reviews. Ok, ill tell you. My wife was concerned about our CRV having brake issues, so we "thought" that Wicked Wrench did our brakes a few months ago. So we called and they said bring it in. We explained the situation. Brakes feel like they are slipping, and pulsing and car pulls to the right. Well Jaime's team took it and started working on it. First off due to my mistake...the brakes had been done somewhere else. No record of it being done by Wicked. Regardless, Jaime and her team took the time to take apart all 4 brakes to check them to make sure all is ok. They were all ok, but a minor rotor issue that may be taken care of by warranty. Her recommendation..take it back to where i got it done. I will. But what i was most impressed with..and will have me back again for sure...was her taking the initiative to look at all 4 brakes...take it for a couple spins to try to mirror what i thought was the problem, and take the time to do it even though brakes were done elsewhere. She also explained the setup of my brakes, how they were, deterioration level and future recommendation. And the topper..no charge. All because my wife was concerned. If you are reading this review...give her your business. You wont be dissapointed. You have my business for sure Jaime.
