This small business provides personal reliable service. I took my 2015 Honda CRV in for a second opinion on a dealers inspection. The dealer had recommended thousands of $ of work and upon detailed inspection and discussion WW recommended only the necessary items, which was about 25% of the dealers price. Their work is fair and done quickly. They have a good system for scheduling appointments and follow the schedule pretty closely. I plan to come back in the future when I need help. read more

Had to add to my previous review! After having my 2015 Ford Fiesta serviced by Wicked Wrench, one fix at a time, she got me to AZ !! The folks at Wicked Wrench literally handled every service I required for my trip and the cost was fair and accurate!! When I arrived in AZ, I immediately called and let Katy know I made it and expressed my gratitude!! I am sure I will never find another auto place like The Wicked Wrench and am so grateful to all of the staff!! Thank you!! read more

From start to finish it was a positive experience. They quoted me fairly and billed accurately as well. In addition they fit me in for an additional service on short notice. Thanks for the transparent and honest business experience. read more

This is officially my go to car shop safe haven lol I started by only getting oil changes here. You can read my first review below. But this second review confirms I'm a loyal customer for sure now. I finally decided it was time to get some brakes replaced. My preferred method is text and for that alone, makes this place 10xs better already for an introvert lol Texted them on a Monday and was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday. Which I'm surprised since it's close to the holidays so I was mentally prepared to get a slot for the next week. I was able to drop off my car Wednesday and got a quote Thursday morning by 9am. It was a reasonable and fair price to me so all I had to do was confirm and sign from the email and my car was ready for pick up by 11:30am. Also, it came with a warranty. I also liked and appreciated that they gave me measurements on how much I had left on my brakes. I honestly would have never thought to ask or had a clue sadly. So it gave me a better understanding instead of telling me, yea they need to be done lol. They told me new brakes are 12mm and I was at 4mm for my rear brakes and my front brakes were at 6mm. So I just did my rear brakes for now. Will definitely come back to do the fronts. And I got another air freshener :) read more

Being your "Average Joe", I want to give credit where credit is due, and other average Joe's out there my experience. 4 different times I've gone to Wicked Wrench. 4 times my truck has been diagnosed properly. 4 times my truck has been fixed properly. Not only at a respectable price, but respectful timeframe as well. Other garages have misdiagnosed issues, taken days on repairs, and costed me outrageous prices. It's refreshing to have a mechanic to trust. read more

I'm consistently impressed every time I visit Wicked Wrench Auto Service in South Elgin. You can actually hear the mechanics walking customers through what their car doesn't need, instead of pushing unnecessary repairs or upsells. That level of honesty is rare in the auto world. It's clear they value integrity, transparency, and their long‑term reputation over making a quick buck. Working with a shop that genuinely puts the customer first is incredibly refreshing, and it's why I trust them completely with my vehicle. read more

I learned about Wicked Wrench from a newspaper article showing sisters that used to help their father repair his cabs. They know their stuff and they are the most honest car repair business I've ever encountered. Very transparent...(will try to get your part from a junkyard, but if not, it will cost this much, etc) They have kept my whole family's cars running for years. I have to laugh when I'm checking out because it's the only business I ever say " is that all you're charging??!" They also support highschoolers & college students that want to learn the car business from the inside out. I cannot say enough positive things about this company! read more

My BF and I moved to the area last June and needed to find a new go-to car repair shop closer to home and we're so thankful this shop is basically walkable. They are prompt with getting back to you about scheduling service and great with communication. Very knowledgeable staff. They're also very upfront about cost and estimates. I got an oil change on my 2015 Chevy equinox and it was SO INEXPENSIVE I almost didn't believe it. They did a great job and were very thorough with any service they've done on our vehicles. Will definitely be going to them for a long time! read more

Quick response with car issue, very fair estimate and quality repair. Great face to face customer service as well.

They were honest, honored my appoint time and had a few valuable suggestions to take care of in the near future . I would highly recommend the Wicked Wrench' read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic shop. They charged me $2,000.00 to fix my oil leaks on my lower oil pan and rear main gasket. The day I pick my car up I get back home and noticed all my transmission fluid leaked out in my driveway literally within minutes of getting back home. They try to tell me they do not know what happened and that my car got disturbed whatever that means... They gave me attitude and made me wait another week to fix the transcooler line they damaged on my car because they had other cars to fix and damaging my car with their negligence was not a priority. Then I noticed my car started leaking again from the lower oil pan and rear main seal I paid them to fix. I called back to let them know I wanted my money back since they did not fix my oil leaks.. The owner Niaomi could care less and gave me nothing but attitude. Wicked Wrench refused to give my money back. They offered to try again to fix it. Why would I allow you to try and fix my car again when you couldn't fix it right the first time and then also damage my car since they do not know what they are doing and it was the two owners brother who was the mechanic. I had 3 other mechanic's two of whom have been in business for over 40 years and all 3 said it was the worst job they have ever seen. I still plan on filing a report with the Attorney General of Illinois. Do not buy into the postive reviews like I did, I should have listened to the negative reviews as they were all spot on with the experience I had. read more

Great communication. Fair pricing and my work was done quickly. Set up appointment through text which worked well for me. You can call as well but text was my preferred method. Confirmed appointment through automated text and email. 2018 Mercedes GLC 43 brakes and rotor replaced. I will do business here again. read more

I am in my mid 40s and not once in my life have I ever felt comfortable taking my car in for repair. Multiple reasons really, but overall it's a trust issue. I had gotten wind of this place when we moved to the area and to date I hadn't had a reason to go. But finally my car had a leak on the garage floor so we took it in. It's a MB so not everyone will work on it, much less charge appropriately. We got a quote on Monday and by Thursday my car was fixed. The price was beyond reasonable. The quote was explained to me clearly. And it was a great experience. Who has a great experience getting their car fixed?? Not many! Unless you go here. Highly recommended and will back next time no question! Thank you for making this process so easy. read more

I have brought my car in 4 times over the last couple of years for various issues. These folks are fantastic in quickly finding the problem and suggest what needs to be done. Very affordable and fast service. And everyone there is very friendly. Do not take your car anywhere else. read more

Just moved to the area and am so happy to have found wicked wrench. Fast responses, quick quote and work was done in a few hours the following day. Fairly priced and they also warranty the parts. The after hours pick up is amazing too. Will definitely be bringing my car here for all my repairs. read more

I really like that their business is owned by women. They are extremely knowledgeable and I feel comfortable there. I also find out their prices are much more reasonable than others. I was charged $20 less at Wicked Wrench then I was at my usual place. read more

Didn't fix my daughter's car correctly and when she called them out on it, they basically said she was dumb.

I was in the process of selling my 2007 Ford Escape 4WD when the alternator crapped out. I called around and several shops quoted me over $1K to replace it because it was 4WD and that took more time to do than FWD. I decided to call Wicked Wrench and was quoted under $500. I let them know it had 4WD and they told me that it didn't make a difference. They got my business now and in the future. I had to wait approx. 1 week to get in for the service but that appears to be the norm for any good repair shop. I heard this place was very good from feedback on a neighborhood app called NextDoor. Now I know why and they saved me a lot of $$. Thank you Wicked Wrench. read more

After years of taking my vehicles to many different auto repair shops I have finally hit the jackpot. They are honest, reliable and friendly. Time is taken to explain exactly what needs to be done, different options if available, and at very reasonable prices. read more

Just here to echo the sentiments of other reviewers. I'm new to the area and needed an oil change and to have my car diagnosed for overheating. I picked Wicked Wrench based off other reviews and was not disappointed. Super easy to schedule an appointment and the after hours drop off and pick up made it very convenient. They were extremely communicative and my car was done quickly. I rarely walk out of a mechanic feeling like I didn't get ripped off but not here because pricing is transparent and she actually talked to me about what the issue might be and what to do if it persists. As if I needed any more reasons to come back- the fact that they are owned/operated by women is really just the cherry on top. I will definitely be back to support this business! read more

Wicked Wrench - Auto Repair Near Me - South Elgin, Illinois

This is one of, if not thee best service organizations I have ever experienced. Every time I use them they amaze me even more. I've had brakes on two of our Cadillacs serviced, front end alignments done, front wheel bearing replacement and they even offered to help me with a rear hatch door I was working on myself. Their prices are better than competitive. I go to the Wicked Wrench first before I'd consider using anyone else. One last thing, they're fantastic, good, honest folks with very knowledgeable mechanics. read more

We highly recommend Wicked Wrench. We've had nothing but great experiences. I love the communication, and they're an honest repair shop. I've never felt ripped off on both cars we have serviced there. I also love that they offer basic car care workshops for free, and plan to send our teenager to one soon. read more

Best car repair experience I had in last 25 years! My car is is now reliable In fraction of the cost what others had quoted me for . Thank you to Jaime (and her group) for providing me the VIP service from the time I entered her shop. I can certainly state that honestly still exists in this country. The long part of the story is below: A year back we purchased convertible from dealer. Within few months the car was not happy and started giving all kinds of issues. The toyota dealer quoted me for 5K for fixing it. I tried to be smart and bought few parts online and had it installed from one of the different repair shops. Fast forward to last week and my car again started giving issues! I took the car to pepboys. The guys there were great and quoted me for 2.5K to fix the issues. The sad/frustrating thing was that they asked me to buy and install a costly part which I had recently replaced(rack pinon). During such times one tries to reason with himself as to which car mechanic is faithful. I was advised of Wicked wrench and with not much confidence I took my car there. The folks were very friendly and they made my car not only reliable but fully operational with just $400. If you are still reading this then you do the maths for the cost savings. Good luck read more

Cannot speak highly enough about this company. Straightforward, honest and quick. Excellent price for Excellent work. Had a horrible shaking that "FireRock" said was just a tie rod. Charged way too much for not fixing the problem.. Nope sorry, not it. Jaime and the team checked and Rotors, pads and caliper, fixed for way less. Car drives and stops smoothly. Will be back with both of our cars from now on. You should come here. read more

I'm so glad I came to Wicked Wrench!!! My breaks were starting to grind, so I went to a place near my work. After they tried to rip me off, I decided to get a second opinion. Jaime was really accommodating, gave me a really great price and was able to fit me in despite my crazy schedule. She and everyone at the shop were really kind and earnest, and I will definitely be coming back here. Highly recommend! read more

The mechanics and owners here are very knowledgeable and friendly. Their rates are extremely competitive and I recommend this place over your local franchise mechanic shop. They quote you fair prices pretty quickly using apps and you can choose to accept or decline the service through your device. They keep constant updates through this as well. I bring my car to people I can trust. read more

they did exactly what they said they would do!!! What a surprise that they did NOT add needless repairs that other repair shops said I needed done. It is surprising to find a repair shop that is fair and honest. I will bring in my other car soon to have them look at it. read more

What can I say that hasnt already been said in the reviews. Ok, ill tell you. My wife was concerned about our CRV having brake issues, so we "thought" that Wicked Wrench did our brakes a few months ago. So we called and they said bring it in. We explained the situation. Brakes feel like they are slipping, and pulsing and car pulls to the right. Well Jaime's team took it and started working on it. First off due to my mistake...the brakes had been done somewhere else. No record of it being done by Wicked. Regardless, Jaime and her team took the time to take apart all 4 brakes to check them to make sure all is ok. They were all ok, but a minor rotor issue that may be taken care of by warranty. Her recommendation..take it back to where i got it done. I will. But what i was most impressed with..and will have me back again for sure...was her taking the initiative to look at all 4 brakes...take it for a couple spins to try to mirror what i thought was the problem, and take the time to do it even though brakes were done elsewhere. She also explained the setup of my brakes, how they were, deterioration level and future recommendation. And the topper..no charge. All because my wife was concerned. If you are reading this review...give her your business. You wont be dissapointed. You have my business for sure Jaime. Thanks Wicked Wrench...awesome customer service...and awesome mechanics! read more
