Quick service and very kind after having to be towed off the highway! If I lived in the area, I would be bringing my vehicle back for sure!

Jason started it and knew exactly what the issue was and fixed right away. I just want to say that CL Transmission cannot be beat for their time, expertise, and customer service in helping resolve this issue on this old camper of mine. THANK YOU JASON Alexis Martel

A couple months ago, my Jeep started acting really wonky. The car would as they call it "slip…read morebetween gears". Weirdest thing ever. I creeped into my local repair shop-dropped the keys in the slot and hoped for the best. Remington"s (my trusted repair shop) have fixed everything on my car for years. They called me with crazy bad news,"It's my transmission and they can't fix it". The shop they recommended was an hour away and I thought ok Yelp will be where i find my answer. I must have sounded desperate when I sent the lonely message to Jason the owner of Crystal Lake Transmission. He texted me back in under an hour. He spent a great deal of time explaining all the details. I decided to trust him and we had AAA tow my Jeep to his location and it arrived within 3 hours. His communication was terrific through the whole process and He gave me a great price well under what I expected. My car is purring like a kitten and I am glad I trusted him. It's scary when something like this happens to your car. Keep in mind when something like this happens it takes a week or so to get your car back. The time went fast and I have a brand new transmission. One happy girl!!

The owner's dishonesty cost me almost 7 weeks without a truck. Steer clear…read more I brought my truck here to have a complete RevMax transmission kit installed because they told me that they could do the job and were familiar with the transmission on my truck (first lie) I was quoted around 4 days and a thousand dollars and when I called, the owner told me that they would take care of everything so I could get my warrantee from the manufacturer, this includes checking line pressures, clutch values, and some break in miles after re flashing the computer. After two weeks I was told that it was ready, and paid my bill of $1690. When I asked them about all of the pressures etc they hemmed and hawed and told me that a dealer needed to do that because they can't but everything is fine. They literally left me in the parking lot with a very NOT okay transmission. I brought it to the dealer who found fault codes and numbers that were way wrong. (Second lie, it was NOT fine, they didn't take care of any warranted stuff I specifically asked about. 3rd lie, they didn't even have the tools to check the pressures, let alone reflash the computer like they said they had) So, I brought the truck back and for the next 4.5 weeks I called and asked about it and kept getting stories about how nobody could figure it out. Finally they had another shop reflash the computer (which they said they already did, but did not) and the transmission started making pressures that made sense but still were far from right. So, I picked up my truck and brought it to a friend who is a mechanic. He had all the correct scan tools to work on the truck, and him and I were able to get the transmission running correctly after a long day's work. So, I was lied to about them being able to do the job, over charged, lied to that it was done right, lied to about what had been done, and in the end I had to call in a favor and fix it myself because they couldn't figure it out. I just hope that during the whole process they didn't seriously damage any hard parts in the transmission. I had a really terrible experience here.

Hey neighbors, I…read morewanted to share a recent experience with a Huntley business so others can make an informed choice. My husband's car was having trouble starting, so we took it to Coyote Auto Repair on Allison Ct. We've used them several times over the years, so this wasn't a random pick. Today, we were told the total was nearly $400 for a new battery. My husband doesn't recall authorizing that work when they called earlier to say the battery was bad. When I called to ask for a cost breakdown and to understand how the miscommunication happened, the person I spoke with became argumentative and rude. After accusing me of calling him a liar, he told me to come get the car and said we'd now have to pay in cash, claiming he didn't want to risk a chargeback or canceled check. I hadn't done or said anything to justify either accusation. I won't get into every detail of that phone call, but my main concern is this: as customers, we should feel comfortable asking questions, clearly understanding what we're authorizing, and trusting that the conversation will remain respectful. Unfortunately, this experience was none of those things. I hope this helps others make an informed decision if you're looking for a local mechanic.
