06/11/21 - I was out here in Hampshire IL today when my engine light came on. Hampshire is 40 miles from where I live so I thought I should probably try to find out what the cause was instead of trying to drive back to Chicago. Someone told me about Bunge's Tire & Auto. This schmuck that answered the phone told me (Bunge'e not Casey Auto). That they might be able to squeeze me in to plug the diagnostic machine sometime today (it was 9am). He said the diagnostic cost $140 then said that even if they found something that was wrong they wouldn't be able to fix it today. I mean WTF? I'm 40 miles from Chicago what the hell am I suppose to do? I called Casey Automotive. They were also overloaded w/customers but Joe was able to squeeze me in plug in the diagnostic machine (no charge) & determine that it was a P3400. I'm not sure why the oil was low but he put a few quarts in reset the engine light 5 mins later & $15 dollars, I was on my way. Thank You Casey Automotive & Joe for helping me in my time of need . Best place to take your car for repair. I was using my brother's car and heard a noise coming out of the wheels. Took it there and they tied a few nuts and checked the steering wheel. The problem was in the steering wheel. They fixed it on the spot for an extremely reasonable price. They are very professional, fast and honest. They got my business. read more

I went in to get my car checked for power steering pump groan, and leak. And they said it was the rack and pinion that was leaking. I took it to 2 other mechanics and they all said it was just a simple hose and the pump itself. Ether these guys just don't know what they're doing or they're scammers!!! read more

I've always had the best service here at Casey's Automotive. The team here are honest and trustworthy. I recently woke up to a flat tire, tried to air it up and it was a goner, drove straight to Casey's and they popped on my spare for me. They've also helped me find great priced tires, and took care of everything else car related. I've gone to other places before but no one makes me feel as confident as Casey's when it comes down to it. They aren't pushy, they just let me know what needs to get done and they will even prioritize my list so I know what I can afford and what's most important to get taken care of right away. Two years ago it snowed a lot and I left my car outside. The next day I drove my car and it began making a loud noise that increased with frequency the faster I accelerated. It also vibrated and my car wiggled side to side, which also increased when it went faster. I feared the worst like something serious was wrong with the suspension or wheels or something (I could tell that's where it was coming from). I went to Casey right away to see if they could figure out why that was happening. Darin immediately looked at it in the garage and discovered that there was snow packed in the wheel wells, so he dug it all out. I offered to pay but he insisted it wasn't necessary. Then a week later I asked my mom to make home made egg rolls so I could properly thank them and they were supremely grateful. I've come here to get oil changes for like four years too. All of the mechanics are nice and professional. The waiting area has a TV, clean restrooms, and comfortable chairs. Oil change service doesn't take very long at all, and for my car it's only like $24.95. read more

They also mounted tires that I purchased online. Very good mechanics, honest and fair priced.They have always been professional with their diagnosis and repairs. If you like stereotypes, head here. I was told I had a radiator problem and the ONLY solution was a $600 replacement. My question was responded to with "Well... people don't do that cheaper fix anymore." Vague and lame. When I asked for my keys back the price immediately changed to $480, hmmmmmmm. I am now having it done at Bullet Auto in Mt. Prospect for $360 including labor, and I didn't even talk them down. Places like this are the reason car mechanics get caricatured. Avoid. read more

I had my car towed here because it wouldn't start. I was told it was a starter problem and paid $400 (not including the tow) to have the starter replaced. I took the car home and had exactly the same problem the next morning. I called to report this and was given the line that, well, I was given the mechanic's "best guess" and "recommendation." They did eventually say they would pay to have the car towed back if necessary. However, obviously, I want better than a "guess" what the problem is and will be taking car elsewhere. read more

By far the best shop I've ever used. My Lexus has 173k miles on it. Needed new brakes, exhaust, alternator and A/C... finished in less then 6 hrs, picked me up at the train station (the owner Darin did it himself), and the price was beyond fair. Every guy in the shop looked like they were in a pit crew and you could eat office the floor. If you don't get an estimate there, you are running the risk of getting second rate work. Best little auto repair shop in town! They are super fast and honest, which is tough to find these days. They will only fix what needs fixed and will even bring you into the shop to show you what needs to be done. And I almost always have the car back the same day! The prices are great! Joe the manager was great. He not only looked at the car for free he then showed me what was wrong and how it was going to be fixed. When there was a question about a repair at the time of the quote he lifted the car again to make sure that we both were talking about the same thing (He was right and it was fine.) I felt they were very honest about what needed to be fixed. The car has 140k on it and needed front end, struts and shocks. He found a problem with the exhaust I didnt know about and showed my why and what they could do to fix it. The quote was $1000 less than other shops. He had to order parts and when he asked for the deposit of $400 I offered to pay in full at that time and Joe said that we only take a deposit and payment in full when work is complete and you are happy with what was done. The quote was Tuesday, The parts came Weds and my car was 100% done by noon on thursday . And the best part.....Free T-Shirt. read more
