Had an 8:00AM appointment for an oil change with a Groupon I purchased. Arrived on time only to have no one there. Finally someone showed up at 8:15AM to open the garage for myself and another customer who was waiting. Upon finishing my car at 9:00AM I was given a bill for another $60. Apparently my car needed a "special" filter for an extra $10, another 1.5 quarts of oil over and above what the coupon covered, ect.. When I asked why I wouldn't be informed ahead of time was offered a "sorry sir". Also the service check list indicated they washed my windows (didn't), vacuumed (didn't), checked filters (didn't), again ect. I know this because I watched the "tech" the entire time from my chair. This place is unprofessional, lazy and not worth anyone's hard earned cash. Run don't hide to anywhere from Pit Stop Elgin. read more

Please don't go there!!! The crew recommended to flush the antifreeze from my 2017 jeep Cherokee and now I have to change the radiator!!! They put the wrong antifreeze! Even though the cap shows that it needs a specific antifreeze, the manufacturer told me the antifreeze and transmission oil don't ever need to flush and change. They accepted the error, but now they won't pay for the repair! Avoid this place at all costs! Save your money and go to the dealer or someone who actually knows what they're doing! read more

This place is a rip off. They advertise a $19.99 oil change with rebate. Then after I get the service done, the guy doesn't want to give it to me. I fill out the information and send it in and I received a $2 rebate after paying $40 for my oil change. I called and left a message for the manager. 3 weeks and I didn't hear back from them. I called again and caught the manager on the phone and he would not let me get a word in edgewise. This place is Shady with a capital s. I would never recommend this place to anyone here. I purchased 2 Groupons for brakes and after dropping the vehicle off they called me TWICE to say they wanted to up-charge me then said that i would have to reschedule when the boss came because she wanted to up-charge me more even thought they already gave me a set price. This place is ran by crooks. I called and scheduled an appointment for a Groupon I purchased for brake pads and rotor replacement. When I called I gave them the make, model and year of my car. The next day I drove 1hr for this appointment and when I arrived the place looked sketchy to say the least. I told a guy I was there for an appointment and he said ok. My lady and me went to the 7/11 next door for snacks and when I came back they hadn't even started working. Long story short they tried to up charge me an additional $250 on top of the Groupon and tried hand me a bogus itemized receipt . I've never had my intelligence insulted in such a way by such unsavory characters. I called Groupon and filed for a refund. I also have a 4 door sedan that is not a luxury vehicle so they couldn't even explain the extra price. They were more concerned about the price I paid for the Groupon which its original price $335. I hope this Pit Stop gets investigated because I'm sure the manager is stealing money by up charging people. read more

Please god sake don't even go here. the guys don't even know about the repair. I came here with my honda pilot with a noise coming from my brakes. That stupid guy just gave me a estimate of $600 for changing the brakes and rotors. I double checked with honda showroom and and get my brake alignment done for $40. That stupid guy told that all my brakes are worn out and need immediate replacement. I cross checked with honda and they said all my brake pads are fine. I recommend PLEASE DONT GO there...They are not HONEST...!!! read more

My car developed an oil leak after having the oil changed. I took it back to the shop and was advised that the drain plug needed to be replaced. They would need to order one for me. I came back 3 days later as planned and they had forgotten to order the plug. I was told to come back later that day but I was unable to. I showed up a week later and the owners brother in law told me that he couldn't do it because he need 2 people for the service. He was just irritated with me. He was alone when he initially changed the oil. When I told him that it doesn't take 2 people to replace a drain plug he said nothing. His mind was made up. And so is mine. I will never return to the Pit Stop for any work. read more

hello, i had a really bad experience. took my vehicle here for a found out 3 weeks later i had a oil leak. my vehicle was damaged due to the oil leak one of my belts were ripping. went back took the broken part etc explained to the gentleman i wanted the oners number. he then asked why and i explained when they did the oil change they damanged the filter and still put it in broken. the kid then decided to tell me nope i am not giving his number out under the owners order. i said look just give me his number and i will talk to him then the kid got so hostile and started swearing his butt off. we shared words and i called the police. i told the police i think the kid is pissed because i interrupted his pot smoke break in the shop. by the way that place was filled with marijuana burnings. long story short police came the kid was rude as heck to the officer as well. officer set his butt straight made him get me the number to the other shop at least. once the kid went back in the officer then explained to me they get calls on this shop all the time so recommended for me for not to come here anymore and to tell anyone and everyone i know. so stay away from this place. ps i also called the other ahip and left a message for the owner several times and still havent hear from him! poor customer service. if he would have called me back we could of worked this out and might have been a different review. read more
