After experiencing a terrific exterior detail of my suv using a Groupon, I scheduled an interior detail a few weeks later using a Groupon. When I arrived, I was told the service provided for that Groupon would be vacuuming and wiping down the interior, no leather cleaning, no detailed cleaning, nothing else. Even though I used a Groupon, for $70 (that I couldn't cancel), I could've vacuumed and wiped down my interior myself...I was really bummed. When I picked up my car, I found that even the wiping down of the interior wasn't done well, there were areas in plain view that still had dust and crumbs left (& my car really wasn't dirty, it's well maintained). The staff was very nice both times, but I felt like I was ripped off with the interior cleaning service, don't know if I'll go back for anything in the future. read more

Remote Start Attempted Purchase: ** Usually I only review after services rendered, but I didn't make it that far. I found a remote start on their site for $299 with free installation. (nothing on the site said additional cost, I looked) I tried to use their 'chat' where they put in on a text with the local store. They refuse to use this and tell you to call in, when you call in they don't answer. So you go visit the location an get treated like junk. I walked in and got a harsh "HI" from the from desk kid, I said, "Hi, how are you?" but no response. I walked over the the desk he was at and said I was interested in a remote start. He says, "Let me guess, the $299, free install on our site?" I say "Yeah, that is the one" He says, "That is not the actual price, there are part that cost more, it says on our website" - like he is already super irritated I asked. I show him his site on my phone to show me, and tell me "Well its not on our mobile site!" For real?, that was his response! Ok, additional costs - I am thinking, sure maybe a wiring harness or something. Then he proceeds to walk around the store for about 3 minutes going in and out each door, I wait thinking he is doing something. He comes back and says he is going to look up my car. I ask if he can give me an idea of what I am looking at for price, just ballpark. He tell me "You are not getting out of here any less than $750 for that!", I ask, more than twice the price of the unit itself? He just looks at me like I am so idiot, that is when I just said I will take my business elsewhere, He says "Whatever, I was looking up your price." Anyways, the services hasn't changed ever. They lie to you on their site to get you in the door and try to sell you other things, classic marketing BS. read more

I stopped by to find some pricing and get some trouble shooting information, the shop was empty aside from a tech and a manager. I mentioned that my fuses were blown and asked if they could assist me in showing me where and what the correct fuse type and/or replace them. I was quoted 120 an hour for shop time and a one hour min. The pricing they gave me for the remote start was $600 over what I was quoted at their competitors up on north division on this SNOWy day. Guess who is getting my business. The competitors even while busy and a line of people waiting to get help took me out to the vehicle and showed me where to locate the fuses and possible other trouble shooting tips. 9 bucks at the auto parts store and all was fixed. read more

Bought a complete upgraded system for my truck. Had an issue with the unit. Just stopped working. Went in to have it checked out. Was told it would be a week before they could look at it. In the meantime I was suppose to drive around with out any sound for a week.after spending all that money. It wasn't worth a look see. Save yourself the headache of buying from here. Went here to have remote start installed in my Lexus. What a life saving idea! No more getting into an icy car with cloudy windows. Do it! It is affordable and I did not feel like they were trying to cheat me. They are good about making adjustments too, like if you want it to start for 20 minutes rather than 15 minutes. They are good about researching your make and model of car. I used my own fob. I do not like the idea of the phone to control the remote start "brain" (the device that they install that turns on the engine). Then Google can follow you around and Siri too. Who wants that kind of surveillance? Like they don't already know everything about you. read more

I have had car toys change lights, car stereo, and do the clean and polish on head lights. They did an excellent job except for the following. First car stereo failed and had to be replaced. When the car was returned the dashboard light where out. The manager promised on five different occasions to call me, he has never called or return a message. This has all taken a year to complete. This is the first time in my life that I've had my car detailed courtesy of my husband's gift to me. Even though the Groupon expired on August 31st, they still honored it. They explained the add-ons that I wanted and the cost associated. Scott was very personable and knowledgeable. I arrived just before open, as did half of Spokane, but Scott gave each of us the personal attention we needed. Shane went with me to check in the car and explain all the add-ons and what they would do. He also explained what the limits of the service were such as not being able to get all the pet hair out. When I arrived at closing, Shane was still hard at work. He made sure to finish as much as he could and asked if I wouldn't mind bringing it back to have the protectant applied since the seats were still damp. No problem! ***People, do not fall for car toys gimmicks. My children purchased me an interior detailing for fathers day in which I had to wait all summer to do. When I finally walked in today to get it done I was not greeted politely. The manager lacks customer service as well as his detailer/installer and front associate. Ok maybe it's just morning and they have not had coffee. I asked questions about exterior detailing to the manager who seemed to me didnt have time or want to answer it. I was even considering getting a small installation done as well as a stereo purchase and install. All he would say is I have people that will talk to you. So...I'm not important enough to sell to? We went outside and was told I need a pet pack. Mind you, they only looked at my back hatch where I store my kennel for my dog. Which mind you, is the only place she goes and had very little hair around where it sat. They never looked at the rest of the car! They did not look at anymore of my car and said it would be an additional 45.00 for a pet pack. Even when complaining to the manager he didt go look. $45.00 to vacuum a little hair...wtf really? The detailer and associate both said whatever cancel then. I tried to talk to the manager and he did not even make an attempt to work with me. Just simply said cancelling... we dont care. At that moment I am furious because there was little customer service. When I mentioned it to the manager he didnt care and neither did associate who clearly was following his lead. I cannot believe groupon does business with Car Toys. I have heard the horror stories but now I am convinced. If I were the owner I would take immediate action, call me, work it out otherwise I will be telling everyone to take their business elsewhere. Which by the way, the manager said and I quote, "I really dont care. Go somewhere else". That's what you have representing your business... Sad to say this is my second bad experience with CarToys. When you go in it is like waiting forever to get help every time. First time the sales guy argued with me about stuff and told me it would be too expensive to replace some speakers in my new van. What? Then I made an appointment for 3:30 to swap out a dvd player nothing fancy no wiring or anything. They told me 2 hours to be safe. 3 hours later I walk back to the store from Starbucks and I thought they forgot to call me to say it was done but after waiting for them to help another customer and take a call they tell me they haven't even got it in yet and then ask me if I want to reschedule. When I made the appointment they said it wasn't busy and it shouldn't take long at all but they quote longer times to be safe. The issue is it was like no sense of urgency. What is the point of an appointment if you aren't even starting after it is supposed to be finished. I don't know if they understaff or just don't give a care about customers. Service is just not good and no hustle or customer focus whatsoever. Not sure how they are staying in business. Could have offered a discount, upgrade, hell a cup of coffee, anything as they just wasted my whole night to unscrew 4 screws and plug some wires in. read more

I have used Car Toys for years and they have always done me right. They are not the cheapest but they also don't gouge. I take my cars there because I want it done right and they always deliver. Recently there was a problem with my laser shifters and even though it meant a complete rewire they did it at no charge. This team exemplifies professionalism and customer service. The whole team had exceptional product knowledge and never tried to sell us something we didn't need. They reviewed every item with us to ensure we understood what we were purchasing and spent time with us after the install to demo all of new products we purchased. Had a horrible experience. Had an auto starter put in that stopped working intermittently after about 6 months. They sent me to get the battery replaced in the fob and that didn't help. Called them back and was told they could only help me if I could come in before 4pm M-F which is difficult with my work schedule. I asked if I could at least have them look at it first; on the weekend. He cut me off and said no, that all I can do completely curt as if I was putting him out. I called the North Division store and they got me in the next day (Sunday) and fixed it. I will never go back to the Valley store. Went in just to grab an air freshener and an iPhone holder for my car the mechanic that was in there initially talk to me was actually more friendly and helpful then the guy who is at the front desk to ring me up. I found what I needed pretty much right away even though he was trying to gather a bunch of items that looked pretty excessive to try and sell me on. I went up to the front desk and he asked me for my full name I thought that was weird since it was a debit card purchase but I told him my full name and then he asked for my address and I said in a calm tone do you really need that because I just moved and I don't have my memorized nor do I want to give it out for a debit card purchase. He proceeded to look at me with an attitude and asked me if I got enough sleep last night? I was a little bit shocked and said I don't need to give you my full address for a debit card purchase still remaining calm and mono tone per my usual deminour. He proceeded to make things super awkward by getting all worked up and I left without saying a word after I paid. Customer service really is dead. read more

I bought my son a car stereo for his birthday on March 2 and set up the installation for March 16th. When my son drove to the appointment from Newport he found out they didn't order the right part and he would have to wait for the part to come in.  I was already upset that they dropped the ball so they offered to give me a discount on the parts. 3 weeks pass and I never heard back from them so I called yesterday  and they had the manager Jeff call me today saying the part never came in.  When I asked can we get free install Jeff's starts telling me there's nothing he can do about that only wanting to give me the same discount as before. I went in looking for an audio deck for my vehicle. Once I walked in I was greeted and asked how I could be helped. The gentleman who helped me gave me the information I asked for before moving on to a different customer. It was at this time I was approached by a different salesman who went over everything with me when I asked about the financing. I ended up walking away with a new set of speakers for my car as well as a very nice audio deck. They were super helpful and worked with me to get a sweet deal. My only complaint is that they were a little pushy with the sale but not uncomfortably so. If you're looking for a place to work with you and give you a quality experience I would recommend these guys. It's a little pricey but they usually have some sort of deal that helps lower the price. read more

If you are purchasing something from Car Toys on Sullivan, there is always someone available to immediately help you; however, if you return to this store because of an issue with that purchase, no one wants to help. In fact, they either deny its their issue and / or they state they're too busy. They stated they had no openings for 2 weeks! The WORST customer service we received is from their store manager, Rich! Probably the worst experience ever with a car stereo purchase. Found one, paid for it, had it installed to only find out it was different than what we choose. We were told what we choose last years model and we got the newest version. Whatever! Leave and 2 days later the stereo will not turn off. No matter if truck is running or not. Keys out, doors locked and stereo still booming. Blinker sounds now come through the stereo speakers. Unreal. Take it back and find out they installed it wrong. They fix it and it seems to work ok but now can't hear blinker at all. Again, whatever. Listen to stereo for a few days and decide that we really want one with a knob for the volume since it is so much easier. Call Car Toys and are told that they have 8 but none at the Valley store. They will call when they come in to valley store. Still no call after 5 days so we call back and are told that they forgot and can have one the next day. Show up to get replacement stereo and find out they have to remove the display for us. Probably the same display model we looked at 2 weeks ago. They insisted they put about 4 of them in the wall in that amount of time. Seems odd when this stereo was supposedly discontinued. Why keep putting a model on display if it is discontinued? The salesman Joe is a complete crook and blows smoke up your butt. Be warned people. I will never go there again and will share with any and all. read more

I brought in a stereo to get installed and I called the day before to make an appointment. I talked to Nick and he set the appointment for 3pm the next day. I went to drop my car off at 2:45 and nothing was set and stone, there was only a note saying I was coming in, He never set up and made an appointment. I talked to what looked like the manager and I asked how long it would be and he told be 2-2.5 hours. I said "great" and went on with my day. At the 2.5 hour mark I called to see if it was done and they said about one more hour, at this point I wasn't upset I just thought to myself "things happen, I get it." Then I ended up driving by the store to see my other car was still sitting in the exact spot 3 HOURS LATER! The guy on the phone said it was being worked on and it wasn't! After I ran my errand, I go to the store to see that it is finally getting worked on and I walked in very frustrated and talked to a nice man who reassured me that it will be done by 6:45. I got a call at 6:40 saying it was done and I picked it up. The man did end up getting me a discount but only because I asked for it. I'm only giving this store a 2 because of that man, but if he wasn't there I would give it 0. Their communication needs to be better and they need to give more of an accurate work time. Will never use them again. I had car toys install a upon adapter for my girlfriends car 9 months ago. It's stopped working now. She bought me a remote start from here and had it installed in march. Thinking this is a quality place and they knew what they were doi g after the install I drove away. A week after the install, when i turn the car on with the remote start, i cant turn the car off after driving with out using the remote. About a month later someone told me my break lights were out. I took the car to a mechanic and after he spent all day trying to Find what was wrong with the lights he looked under my steering colum, apparently when car toys installed my remote start they cut into a wire they shouldn't have and my break lights had not been working since they installed the remote start. This cost me $130.00. I called car toys about this and spoke to serge. He told me they couldn't do anything for me because they didn't get to look at the car 1st. I replied with well when my break lights are out I don't think of my remote start being the cause of it. Serge then told me I was lucky he was going to Seattle the next day to speak with the regional manager and he would bring this up to him and call me that Wednesday or Thursday. I also told him about my car not being able to be turned off without using my remote, he said he would schedule to get this fixed for me when he called me back. It's been 2 weeks since I spoke with him and I have not received a call back. I will never buy another thing from car toys. read more

Went into the store to have a new car stereo installed. I was given a quote over the phone for $84. When I came in, the quote went up to $110. They told me to come back in 1 hour. I showed up on-time and the price quadrupled to $450. The most shady place I ever dealt with, ever! They had a big job scheduled to come in that cancelled and they tried to make it up with me. Went down the street to Aspen Sound and they completed the job with no questions for $120. I think it is really sad that a company can operate in this way. I urge everyone to go elsewhere. read more

I purchased Christmas presents online for members of my family. The first was a Bluetooth stereo for my daughters Jeep. I inputted the year and model of her Jeep and the webpage showed me stereos that fit in this car. The webpage said the standard install was $50 and if you had bluetooth it was $70. But when my daughter went in for install they charged her over $200. The second was a remote start for my wife. Again I provided year and model. This time the install is included. My wife spoke to them on 3 occasions to schedule the install, but when she arrived they told her they could not install because she did not have the invoice number from the internet. If this is policy, during one of the three conversations with them they could have let her know. At the very least the online site is misleading. The manager at the store is less than helpful and borderline rude. I am in customer service and this company falls short. The store manager could have completed the install and had us send the invoice number later or helped my wife in some way, instead he was unfriendly and has lost car toys any further business from my family. I tried them after a friend's recommendation, turns out my friend actually goes to the one on Division. I called this one on Sullivan twice, talked to two different ppl. Once just for info on remote starter and then second time to schedule an appt. Both times I asked how long would it take, they said 3-4 hours. I scheduled one for right when they open so I could make it to work in the afternoon and the first thing he says when I got there for my appt is, you know this is at least a 5 hour maybe all day job? I told him I didn't have that long otherwise I would've scheduled it on my day off, and that he needs to get on the same page as the ppl who answer the phones, and walked out. I got my interior wrapped and the installer was a really nice guy understood what I wanted but it peeled up within 24 hours and bubbled I went back as it states they guarantee there work I booked in to get it fixed and they tried to charge me I already paid 200$ to get it done to begin with the manager acted like an extra 150$ to fix what they didn't do right the first time was a bargain I was very disappointed and to be honest the fix up job isn't much better at least the first time he lined it up now the carbon fiber is in multiple directions, has pieces sticking up. I also got my new stereo installed there it is an awesome stereo and he straightened it up when I went back but it just looks horrible and they pretty much doubled the cost of the equipment and install and I never got a receipt for the alleged 380$ I paid up front on top of 600$ for the stereo and the 500$ for installation of the camera and stereo. Originally I was told 1,200 for the lot 1,100 was on the leasing and stated an 80$ down payment so unsure where the rest of the money went. Just very shady I'll never go back, with not getting a receipt for that other payment it's like they pocketed it. read more

Prices kept moving and couldn't get installation accomplished. Website shows $129 for installed remote keyless entry. Called and they quoted near $400, then I explained I only wanted keyless entry, and quote changed to $275, then I explained the web price and they agreed. Wouldn't take an appointment, so it was recommended I show up first thing in the morning. First one at the door, and they give me a $250 quote again. Finally, I get the web price plus an up-charge for installation parts. Shop doors didn't open up for an hour. Saw one tech doing a truck detail and nobody else working in the shop. Waited 3 hours and my car never moved. Had to cancel out of the service. Nothing accomplished. They did refund my money, so no issue there. I will try Aspen Sound next. I went in to purchase a simple car stereo (no touch screen or anything) and was told I needed to purchase the stereo we picked out, wire harness, and a dash kit ($60) for my vehicle. The dash kit seemed off so I called Aspen in the valley to be sure and was told that I definitely did NOT need this, so I returned to the store anyways to inform the guy helping me, Joe DeArth, of the news. After coming out and giving a quick look at my car he agreed. He then proceeded to sell me the stereo and the INCORRECT wire harness he grabbed from the back. Me not being experienced with cars spent quite a while before realizing that the wire harness was for amplifier integration and not what I needed. I went back to the store, didn't get so much as an apology and was told that we had a "50-50 chance of picking the right one". Nah dude, you sold me the wrong things and were misinformed TWICE. Refunded my money and bought one at Walmart since everywhere else was now closed and Car Toys would have to order one (like the dash kit I apparently needed). Anyways my one day off was spent entirely on figuring out this crap and I'm pretty mad about it. I give it a "WouldNotShopThereAgain/10." read more
