I really don't know why this place is still in business. The first bad Experience I had with them is when I had a new radio and head unit installed there. The job wasn't done correctly the bluetooth on my radio didn't work correctly. When I brought it back to them they tried to tell me that the problem was my phone and not their instalation. I knew that wasn't true I ended up going back and forth with them for them to finally take the radio back out and fix the issue. And just as I said there was nothing wrong with my phone they just didn't do a good job. After that experience I vowed never to go back there. I made a mistake and when back there to get my car interior detailed. I thought to my self it's detailing not an installation so I'm going to give it a shot. They did a bad job with detailing also. My car door pocket was still dirty, looks the same as it did when brought the car to them, they didn't even touched them. Dirt was left in between the seats. I mean all over the inside of the car was as if they did touched it. Which is sad I really wanted to have something good to say about this place but their service just sucks. I had my car detailed. I didn't realize I should have inspected it before leaving. I had to bring it back as they completely missed cleaning the 2 back windows covered in streaks of dog slobber, and vacuuming under the drivers seat. They also took down my pet barrier that was tied in. There was no need to take this down just to vacuum. They said it came down while vacuuming...Wow! It holds in my monster of a dog no problem, but a vacuum can take it down? What kind of newfangled high tech knot un-tying vacuum do they use? This place sucks period! Avoid this hell-hole at all costs. They damaged my brand new car and refused to accept responsibility for it. These clowns decided I made the whole thing up. Here is their scenario: *I scratch the paint clean off my brand new car then bring my car to Everett Cartoys for a $300 detail and then concoct some stupid lie to blame them for the damage? Recently purchased a new stereo system for my car with backup camera. The prices were fair and the staff was knowledgeable. Had to order a kit for my car to install so got it installed a couple days later. There was an issue with my kit coming in but management went out of their way to get the kit elsewhere and make sure my install wasn't delayed. I love the new system that i had installed and am very pleased with the service that i was provided. This location does get VERY busy so sometimes you may have to wait but that's standard anywhere you go. I did not deal with the phone sales but from hearing others ask questions the staff seemed very knowledgeable on the subject as well. read more

I just got back from picking up my car from getting detailed by the wonderful employees at this location. I bought an interior detail package from Groupon but decided to pay extra to have it washed and polished. The previous owner of my 2001 BMW tried to buff/wax it himself, and left it with strange, white, swirl marks. The amazing employees at car toys, no doubt worked their butts off to get my car sparkling inside and out! It looks brand new! It wasn't an easy task to undo the previous horrible wax job- they went way above and beyond what I expected, to make my car shine! It looks a million times better than when I bought it! I recently had a new car stereo installed by Car Toys. My appointment was for 11am. I was told it would potentially be a couple of hours so I came prepared to wait. Two hours after my scheduled appointment time, my car was still sitting in the parking lot. I went to the counter and told them that I wanted to cancel my installation since I had been waiting so long. They told me they would take my car right back and they took $30 off my bill. About an hour later my stereo was done, but I was not offered any knowledge about it and I still cant figure out how it works :( read more

I brought my vehicle in to have a deck, amp, and 4 door speakers installed. I was told my vehicle would take 2 days to finish. I never received a phone call with an update, instead I had to call too see if it was going to be finished. It took 5 days for the install to be completed, and I had too call in on the 5th day to find out. After having the vehicle back for 2 days, the deck mount is loose and moves around, one of the backing to the speaker mount has completely fallen off, and the marine carpet they wrapped it with has already started to peel off. And to top it off, simply turning the radio on with it turned down all the way there is alot of static. For how expensive it was to have this done, I got VERY poor quality craftsmanship. Even though I paid for the lifetime warranty, this experience has made me not want to bring my vehicle back to them. read more

This business is pathetic. I decided to check this place out since my usual stereo installer wasn't available. What a joke. They wanted $150 to install a simple Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner. Next the customer service guy that was barely assisting me kept leaving to ask his installer or boss how much they were going to charge me. He was gone longer than 5 minutes so I straight up walked out. Just being inside that store it didn't seem warm or inviting and felt like I was being taken for a ride down rip off lane! These people are so shady! Also the kid that helped me wasn't knowledgeable about the products they were selling. My advice is this! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE INCOMPETENT SHADY CHARACTERS, YOU WILL REGRET IT. I later found a better shop in Everett called Sound Advice. If the star scale could measure negative this place would get a -3. My experience was this past Saturday, Nov 17th. I was looking for nothing more than an inexpensive unit with an MP3 jack. Never seen that kind of hard-sell in my life and I've been a shopper for over 40 years. Also didn't need to listen to the sales guy diss my current unit for 5 minutes til I could get a word in and let him know that there was nothing wrong with it. The estimate came to $500+. My boy friend and I went in because it was time for me to upgrade my phone. Spoke with Ed, then headed to the ATT store to see what they had to offer. Walked out of there very unhappy, came back to Ed. Because of our lack of phone savy, he spent a lot of time with us and even took the time to break stuff down on paper. Ended up saving us money and got us the most bang for our buck. He could have sold us phones that were WAY above our needs, but went in back and found phones more our (specially my boyfiends) level. Very personable and friendly. We came across some issues in the following days (not any fault of his) and he was available and still as helpful as he'd been during the sale. Don C. from Loveland I replaced all interior lighting with LED's on my 07 F-150 it recently would come off/on by itself went to mess with it an it shorted out lil did I know it took out gauges,windows and radio tried to replaced specific fuses and nothing worked thought I'd burned up something.Ford dealer wanted $130 to check out electrical plus air bag lite came on which was another system for another $130 because was under a whole diff system , bottom line was looking at almost $300 bucks (keep things stock) I called cartoys in Ft. Collins they checked whole electrical system out an found the problem within 15 minutes Mechanic/Manager were great best of all it only cost $45 thank you cartoys read more

My friends warned me but I didn't listen. Big mistake. I asked for a "worst case" scenario installing a stereo in my Mercedes. The looked at my car and said it would be $400 to install. I left them my car and headed out to catch a movie. 30 minutes later they called me and told me it would cost $150 more than estimated. After some words with the manager they agreed to $50. An hour later they called me again saying my car needed a special adapter for another $175. Again another conversation with the manager. When I picked up my car the "special adapters" that the wanted over $300 for weren't compatible with my car. Looking over the bill they were still charging me for the adapters that weren't installed. I made them take everything out and put the factory unit back. They wanted $700+ to install a $250 stereo. I took my car to fry's and they installed the same stereo for $75 including the adapter needed for the Bose system. I had Fry's tech look at the final bill that Car Toys tried to stick me with and he noticed that they were charging me for an adapters that weren't required. The only adapters required for the car are wiring and fiber optic. They were charging me for amp, sub, and disc changer adapters when those items are not even installed in my car. read more

I had the unfortunate incident of being a customer here a few days ago, and I can say I won't be back. I went in to price a new reciever for my car. I had a particular one in mind when I went in, but only mentioned to the salesman that I wanted something compatible with my iphone and that worked with Pandora. I knew of one that I had my eye on from Best Buy and the internet priced under 200, but he immediatley tried to sell me something in the 350-400 range. When I told him I didn't want to spend that much, and showed him the 180 one I was interested in, his only response was "Oh yeah, that will work too". After coming out to my car with the shop tech to inspect the sizing for the fit, he tried to sell me detailing services. He then convinced me that my factory speakers would not be sufficient and upsold me with new front speakers. Essentially, he was extremely pushy. I realize that is his job, but it gets worse. When pricing everything out, he made a huge deal about how the 40$ install for the speakers was a "really big discount" from the usual $80. How corny. They told me to come back in an hour and a half, which I did. Upon returning, I was told my car wasn't ready. How convienient for them, because I had nothing else to do but browse the shop for a half hour, while in the meantime, the salesman tried to sell me leather conditioning for my seats ("on sale!" he told me) as well as a few other things. Finally my car was ready, and upon getting my itemized invoice, I was frustrated. All the charges were coded, so I had no way of knowing if the charges were justified. Finally, I was able to get out of there. They pulled my car around, showed me my old stuff sitting in the passenger seat, and I got in and got ready to pull away. *Knock on my car window* Salesman: "Umm.........I forgot to mention it, but just so you know, you no longer get AM frequency. We figured it wouldn't matter, but if you want it back you can schedule another appt. to have that taken care of." Great. Thanks but no thanks. The icing on the cake was, when I got home to pull out the instruction manual and remote from the box of the new reciever, I found a nasty bloody band-aid stuffed in there as well. I guess my whole point is, for the couple bucks you might save here, it's not worth it. Spend a little more and avoid this place. Up until yesterday, we were big fans of Car Toys. Have bought phones, accessories, car stereos and other electronics there. Took my son's car there to install a new stereo and when he got home he noticed that his passenger door lock did not work. So we took it back to Car Toys to have it checked - obviously a wire didn't get reconnected when they installed the new speakers. My son took the car in for a 1pm appt and asked that they call when it was done. Never received a call. At 5pm, we called and asked the status. Here's what they said. Oh....it's been ready for hours, we decided that it wasn't something we did, so come pick it up anytime. I called the Manager and he reitterates the same info. Not our problem. Not our fault. Basically said to me....I don't care about your return business. The good news is that his wish will come true. We will NEVER give them our business. Our son has plastered this same message across his facebook page and we plan to do the same if Car Toys does not do the right thing and fix their mistake. You have a choice in where you buy electronics. Please don't make the same mistake we did. read more

I hate car toys. I spent over a thousand dollars on a stereo a few years ago. They tried to sell me a lot more and the speakers they recommended sounded like crap! Then I had them install a stereo in my Infiniti g35 and they broke the light for the dash clock. The installer was great and said he would fix it just bring in the bulb and he would put it in said five minute job and no wait. Two weeks later I went back in and they said the installer no longer works there and I would have to wait 1 to 2 hours till they have time! This was two years ago I thought I would give them another chance because I got another car and wanted a iPod adapter installed. They had the installer look at my car and they gave me a price, everything was fine until I told him I didn't have time today and would have to come back. He said I could pay now and come back later for install. I asked for a print out of the cost and materials and he very rudely said NO! And started with a attitude.I then asked for a card and to write the price on it and I would comeback when I had time to wait for the install he gave me a card with the price and then ignored me. The install guy was embarased of the sales guy and said he will do the install when i was ready.All the sales people care about is there commission.The install guys are great, they are very polite and helpfull and informative. I would spend a lot of money here if the sales people were the same way. I am done with cartoys and will never go in there stores again. read more

What is wrong with this location? I went in for a stereo install and I was shuffled between 3 different people who didn't know what was going on and trying to sell me something new every time. According to them, the person before wasn't an expert like they are and that's why they gave me the wrong price and didn't know I needed the more expensive part. They looked at my vehicle and after telling them several times that I wanted a certain item they finally gave up and started ringing me up. But to no surprise, they didn't have what I wanted in stock and I would have to upgrade at an extra cost of $100. I decided to just walk out and take my business elsewhere. So the experience started out great. They quoted me at a decent price on the phone for the Black Friday sales. I arrive and they ended up selling me on a upgrade for my sub and amp install. Long story short they ran out of the subs I bought so they "hooked me up" with a upgraded sub for free which was very nice. The sub was mounted nicely and sounded great! As I get close to my house I turned down the sub I notice the road noise is much more. As I turn around and turn on the light my rear seat is missing! I call the garage and they mentioned it's sitting in the garage yet they gave me the okay to take the car home. Yes I know I should've looked but it was late at night and visibility was low. As I come back and they made me wait 20 minutes they give me my keys for a second time. This time I go to my back seat I look to make sure it's in, to my utter dismay the seat is loose and almost falling off. So angrily I bring the installer out to align the clips properly and finally it gets done properly.... Before this unfortunate experience the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Made friends with one of the salesmen and I'm satisfied with the build quality. read more

After making an appointment - I waited 1.5 hours only to be told my car had not even been seen yet!!!! The manager said that walk ins get seen first so my appointment in the book was really worthless. It took 2 minutes to determine a blown fuse was at fault. Car toys in everett in the worst place ever! I bought my stereo system (5k) from them and had it installed by them as well and they did a horrible job! I had to take it to sound advice down the street so they could fix it. Car toys put my amp where it had no circulation and also did not center my bass knob. I had cords going everywhere, just a sloppy job done by sloppy people. Not to mention the people there are ridiculously rude. My bass knob came out of placement and my radio did not work anymore. I went to car toys so they could try to fix my radio and bass knob and they basically told me too bad even though I had paid a lot for my stereo system and my family also had 3 cars with stereo systems done there as well. After the guy was beyond rude to me and told me he could TRY to fix my bass knob but no guarantee he tried to get me to wait an hour and a half for it to be done. I then took my car to sound advice and once again they had to fix car toys mistake. The guy at sound advice had fixed my radio in less than 10 seconds no questions asks and let me know he could indeed fix my bass knob in 30 minutes. Thank god for sound advice! I am so mad with what happened I'm pretty much stuck with a broken phone because I wasn't given all the info. At the time. Of. Purchase I paid for an insurance plan that I was told I paid the one time fee and I could replace my phone twice in 2 years and not have to pay anything else oh no that's not how it really is apparently I have to pay 75 dollars and it's once a year I found that out after I broke it a second time and I was told hey why don't you go to a place that will fix your screen for a few hundred dollars I don't recommend getting Any type of cell phone without finding out ALL THE INFORMATION FROM THE BEGINNING the only thing they did do right was install my stereo they're great at that but it seems great at nothing else so bottom line know what your getting yourself into before you sign on the dotted line or you may be very disappointed like I am too bad I couldn't get my money. I took my car in for a interior detail after purchasing a Groupon. Upon arriving at the Everett location, they immediately tried to upsell me. When I declined they became extremely rude and unhelpful. Not surprisingly, when I received my car back over a whole day later, it was the most laughably bad "detailing" job I've ever seen. It was obviously--by the remaining spots on the seats--that the interior hadn't even been wiped down with a wet rag. I wasn't expecting miracles for a $100 Groupon deal, but I was expecting something. I do a better job cleaning out the interior at the car wash in 10 minutes than they did in a whole day. This was by far the worst service I have received when using a Groupon. I will never return to CarToys for anything. I feel absolutely swindled and disrespected by this establishment. CarToys needs to remember that customers use groupon vouchers to try somewhere for the first time to get an idea of the level of service they can expect from their business; sadly this experience quickly made up my mind that I wouldn't be returning. read more

If I could leave a zero star I would these people at Car Toys in Everett installed amp and deck and sub in my car which caught fire and what they did to make this correct with me is cut the part out of my carpet out slid some new carpet underneath the carpet they cut out and hooked up my Fried amp witch fried because of the fire and called that good. Left the 4 inch by 2 inch hole in my floorboard because of the wire that caught fire got so hot it burnt a hole in my floorboard and they just cover it up with the carpet poor poor service will never give them another penny again should sue them read more

So here it goes! They are the epitome of over promise and under deliver!! When I went in to Car Toys to get my son's Toyota truck a stereo in it, the back speakers did not work with the old one so I thought I would have them install a new CD and small amp in it. I asked if they can get the back speakers working when they install a new CD player and the sales man said no problem. Well you can guess it! They were not working when I saw it after work! So I called them and they said to just bypass the small amp that comes stock in the Toyota..... UH OKAY but you said you could fix the speaker problem. 2 weeks later I said it was acting up. He said no problem bring it in and we can look at it because we guarantee our work. So the next day I showed up and the sales man told me it will be $300. WHAT? Are you kidding? So much for guaranteeing it. They told me because they never did the work on the back speakers when the installed the CD player and new amp, they were going to have to charge me for more work.....Why when they were into it didn't they tell me that they needed to bypass the amp or ask me for $50 more they could rewire them? It would have cost me a whole lot less, and I would have said yes and still been a customer!! Instead, my son now did the work himself. Hopefully the other Car Toys are not ran like this one!! I spent over $3000 on my car's new stereo/navigation from them and I am not looking forward dealing with them again because my system is acting up now!!!! NOT HAPPY!!! read more

I recently purchased a Groupon to have my Jeep detailed at Car Toys. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Wil McFarland is a Detailing Specialist there and he is nothing but first class. My jeep had taken quite a few rumbles during off-road adventures, and I even smoke in it, but by the time Wil was done, the Jeep was back to new condition. I couldn't believe how great it looked. When my wife saw it, she said "It's back to new!!" She's insisted that when we need another car detailed, we go back to Wil because of the outstanding job he did. Not only did Wil do a wonderful job with the detailing, he was polite, in good humor, and professional. He provided some of the best customer service I've ever received. We came back the same day to get a stereo installed in my wife's minivan, because we felt we could trust this business. 5 Stars for Wil. We'll be back when we need one of our vehicles detailed again. I bought a stereo from the Everett store a few days ago. After two days it quit working, so i go back down to the store to talk to them. They said they will exchange it if i take it back out of the vehicle which i did because i installed it. I then took it into the store and they tell me they will not exchange it anymore. They refuse to help, now i am out of $300.00. They lie about 30 day hassle free return. They were being rude and refused to help at all. If there was a (no star) option I would hit it. I am sitting at a local gas station completely dead, waiting for a tow truck at 6 AM, why? Because I had an alarm system installed in my truck about eight months ago, originally the wiring was crossed just a little, the back gate wouldn't open the alarm would go off sporadically etc. etc. Took the truck back in the car toys, asked him to fix it they said they did, as I left I realize they had fixed absolutely nothing, so I made another appointment, they claimed they had fixed the problem, but they did not. You would not believe me if I told you, I have been in and out of this place nine times, claiming they fix the problem. This time some sort of wiring got crossed bad, my car completely stalls. The radio goes haywire etc. I'm absolutely fed up and will never recommend car toys to anybody. When I ask them to remove the alarm system, they tell me that they want to "" fix the problem", I told them I do not want the problem fixed, I want it restored back to factory settings... So what happens? They just "Disconnect "it, but I don't think they ever disconnected it given that the alarm still works... WTF, like I said it's 6 AM it's freezing and I'm waiting for AAA.... read more
