2 words WEDDING RING. On my way to work one day.... I took off my wedding ring to put lotion on, setting my ring in my lap.... then it happened.... it fell. My world is in shambles, it slips, I hear the metal on metal cling as it falls below the seat. As soon as we stop (my husband was driving calm down people!) I hop out of the car and look below the seat. NOTHING. I pull everything out, search. NOTHING. After months of anxiety, finally I think... I'm just going to run by car toys and see if they can help me. Luckily for me they were not too busy and they helped me out. Art was the tech on duty.... (are the even called techs? I don't know.) Art was a super nice guy who calmed me down, was compassionate about my pain and assured me it wouldn't take long. I impatiently watch from the waiting room, tears in my eyes. They were able to pull the front seats completely out I don't even know how they did that... I tried googling it before taking it in (there was a vw specialist who helped me out as well) again, they were just so so nice! They checked in, but unfortunately they couldn't find anything, they offered to cut open the carpet... of course I was hesitant.... this vw Tiguan was my baby, I didn't want to hurt her. Once again Art calmed me down, assuring me that they would make the smallest cut possible just large enough to fit their hand in. Again I wait at the window. Finally ( well actually just minutes but it felt like eternity) they returned with my RING!!! Omg the tears are flowing! They saved me! I was so happy with their service! But more than anything their customer service was impeccable. I know it can't be that easy dealing with an emotional tearful customers but these guys are great and you could not even see where they cut into the carpet. Thank you car toys!!! You guys are great!!! read more

Never come to the car toys on Everett mall way. Unless you want to come back 10+ times to get them to fix what they messed up. And in the beginning put in a used deck and not tell you. Also the sales guy Brendon. He doesn't care if you get upset. Its not his problem. They also won't call you and yell you they are ready for you to come get your vehicle read more

I had an excellent experience at this Car Toys. My visit was February 14th, 2013 at about 9 am in the morning, so right when they opened. I went in looking just for a new CD player/radio with Bluetooth for my 2006 Escape as the old one decided to stop working out of the blue. The standard radio and audio system in my car was absolute crap before so I was surprised that it even lasted almost seven years. Anyway, I walked in and I was immediately greeted by one of the employees, Jackson. Really nice guy, not pushy at all, very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the current market and was very understanding that I didn't want to overspend. Obviously every employee should be like this but Jackson stood out. I walked in wanting to spend under $275 for a new CD player/radio, but I left also getting new speakers for my car as well. The standard factory speakers were terrible and I am very satisfied with my new pioneers. I did have to give a little in order to get what I wanted, but it wasn't over the top; Jackson wasn't pushy at all and honestly wanted me to get the best deal I could in my price range. Overall, the service was great. I was told that the installation would take about one hour, and to my surprise, it ended up being only about 45 minutes. I have read other reviews and people complain about the little "waiting room." Honestly, it's not much to write about, there is a couch and a chair and a TV, but in the end, at least there is a place to sit. You are there to get your car serviced, not to sit in an in-home theater with surround sound and top of the market recliners; so there really is no need to complain about it. After the installation was finished, Jackson wanted to make sure that the system would sync up with my phone, so he walked me through everything and answered every question I had. In the end, I was very pleased with this Car Toys. If people want the best service at this location, they should seek out Jackson, the guy knows his stuff, is very helpful and isn't one of those pushy salesmen. read more

Very disrespectful and belligerent salespeople. Came in there to buy a car stereo and the salesperson helping me decided that he needed to help somebody else right in the middle of our deal and when he came back almost 30 minutes later he was very unhelpful and flippant. I can't remember his name some Asian guy in his thirties that acted like he was a teenager and decided to treat me like one as well. I decided to take my business to stereo warehouse where I can be treated like an adult. read more

Avoid this place. The staff is not knowledgeable. They over charge on installation at medical doctors rate. Do yourself a favor and" DO" the research first on sites like Crutchfield.com. And know what your buying so you can call out these kind up mistakes before you fall victim. Before you just go out and buy a stereo set up Car Toys recommends make sure the amp and speakers pair nicely. My brother paid $1200 for 2 subs and amp + installation of a brand new in box head unit, dash speakers, sound bar speaker with sub and amp. I have done this installation on my Jeep myself and takes less than 2.5 to complete, both dash and sound bar installation is essentially "plug and play" meaning you just disconnect /reconnect new and mount, had I known he was planning on buying stereo equipment I would have mentored him in the proper direction. Since he didn't know anything about stereo equipment, lets just say they sure didn't go out of there way to insure the speakers and amp meet the minimum requirement for a satisfactory audio experience based on manufacture recommended settings. First thing wrong with the set up was the ran the component speaker cable wires along side the ground wire, power wire and remote wire zip tied together. Any novice knows that's a rookie mistake. You run the component wires on the opposite side of vehicle when possible( which was possible!!!) to prevent interference in sound quality. Secondly, the subs they sold him require a min of 500 RMS per sub as recommended by manufactures with a peak 1500 RMS.( ( Car Toys bridges 2 channels giving each sub a meager pitiful 100 RMS)). They installed a 4 channel amp bridge the subs 100 RMS each. Also they hooked up the small dash speakers to the other 2 channels when the sound bar should have been connected because those are the second largest and have the most output potential but they choose the path of least resistance and took the easier route and did the small dash speakers while the head unite pushes 22RMS to the sound bar speakers. I did call and talk with the manager and they admitted the set up was under powered and its a popular package they sell. He offered to bring the Jeep back in and look at getting a second amp. Here is the problem I have with this. They undelivered on installation, didn't offer my brother best option but rather wanted to make the most money possible on installation v.s delivering the best sound experience and at fair installation cost. Beware, be educated and don't make the same mistake. Subs purchased were 2 Alpine S 10" Alpine 4 channel 400 watt amp. read more

When I first walked in I was greeted by one of the employees there. However, he was with a customer, but called over Thomas to help me out. Thomas was so helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I told Thomas what ideas I had in mind for my car, and showed me a few options that were in my budget. After, he grabbed Travis, an installer, and we went out to my car. Travis was just as helpful as Thomas. Travis explained where everything would go and how it would look. I handed them over the car keys and let them get to work. When I picked up my car, I was so happy with the results. My car looks and sounds great! I would definitely recommend Travis and Thomas to friends. read more

The guys at Car Toys are great! Arsh was super friendly and incredibly helpful! He really went the extra mile with customer service!

When I arrived to drop off my car for detail, they quoted me a price $100 over their most expensive package. After some complaint, the manager knocked it down to just slightly under the upper end package price for both interior and exterior. Don't get me wrong, I am not a cheap person, but the price did more than double from the phone quote to onsite and I don't even have pets. And I gave them 2 days to work on it. Today I picked it up, this was not a top notch job. It was just good enough to not be sloppy, and my handicap placard went missing. They spent an hour trying to spin the missing placard before just giving up and saying sorry. The placard had two pieces of original art attached to it, both sentimental pieces. They will be missed. All in all, for the price, you can probably get an equally as good a job, possibly even better somewhere else. I am disappointed with the whole experience. (This was the third time I used their service, no complaints from before) read more

I went to the Car Toys in Lynwood and this one in Everett asking for the same thing: 4 speakers, a head unit, subwoofers and amp for $1000. This store was $67 cheaper and was able to install it right then and there in 2 hours. Waiting room is tiny but it's functional (they have a flatscreen tv now) Labor is expensive but it was fast and I didn't have to do it myself in the cold! read more

Got a new stereo and enjoyed the experience at Everett Car Toys. The salesman (Keanu) and awesome installer (Mike) helped me find the perfect stereo for my truck and price range. Very low pressure and both were very knowledgeable on the products and technical details. Install was same day and complete in two hours! They even fixed my alarm that a different company had installed incorrectly (at no charge!) They rocked it - nice work guys! read more

Keanu was awesome. Didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. I'll be back. And I'll ask for Keanu!!!

Stay stay away from these people they're shady and do horrible non-professional installation in your vehicle as far as car alarms remote starts. I had a audio box remote start in car alarm installed by these guys paid them over $700 and has been nothing but a problem since the day they installed it. I actually got my issue resolved and taking care of from the store in Shoreline off of 130th St. in Aurora. They actually put me in a different system with alarm remote start and treated me with respect and good work ethic as well as made me a very happy and satisfied customer. I wouldn't let Car Toys and Everett paid me to touch my car or install anything not only is the work not good but the sales people are non-helpful and very unprofessional. read more

I am a car accessorie fanatic and needed a new place to start buying my car electronics accessories after my old favorite place went out of business. ...So I started looking around when I wanted to upgrade my amp and wanted upgrade my alarm from stock to aftermarket. My first stop was Car Stereo Warehouse on Aurora since I live in Seattle. I went in there and I felt like I just walked into a chop shop selling stolen car stereo equipment. There were 6 guys behind the counter all laughing and talkin like they were gangsters....yet they were all white and hispanic....comical. i looked around for like 15 minutes without being contacted and so I went up to the counter where everyone was hudled and saw what was so interesting to them that they couldn't help the 1 person in their store....It was a porn magazine they were all looking at. Geese, I'm glad I didn't send my fiance in there alone to shop....she probably would have gotten gang raped. They had an amp that caught my eye but the alarm I was looking at would have costed me $380 to install....forget that. Circuit City used to install them for free. Then I went to Best Buy. What a joke. The kid I talked to had no idea what he was talking about and everything he told me was read off the tag. All the car stereo stuff they had was low end crap. I'm not an illegal immagrant trying to pimp out my 87 carolla. I left dissapointed, as I ussually do when I go to Best Buy. Then later on that day I decided to stop by the Car Toys in Everett while driving down south from visiting my folks. Right away I was super impressed with their selection of mid to high end equipment and massive selection. The sales person that contacted me was really friendly, professional, and even walked out of the store to my truck to check out my equipment and find the right amp for me. When I found the amp I wanted I used my iphone to find the best price. Found it on amazon for 20 bucks less and they price matched with no hastle. I checked out their alarm selection and was pleased to see basic install was FREE! I spent the money I saved on a better alarm and a bunch of cool alarm accessories. Got everything installed the next day and have loved everything since. I even got a THANK YOU card in the mail the following week from my sales person. Now that is customer service. read more

Recently had my filthy outback detailed. Rich did a great job! 90% of the pet hair was removed. My dog took a dump in the back seat while on a road trip. My mother driving didn't notice him whining, so not only did he crap a huge pine cone size turd he stepped in it and rubbed it into the seat. Rich was able to remove the stain and best of all the smell.....Staff is super friendly! Thanks Car Toys when in need I'll be back read more

I came in to have my factory amp installed in my Lexus LS460 and the assistant manager Eddie was right on point in making sure that I was taken care of. He came out, checked my vehicle, took it around the back and PERSONALLY installed the amplifier himself. I was in and out in under 15 minutes and my music is sounding incredible! Crook alert! They only got one star because that's the least you can give. They went out of their way to not honor a Group-On detail even after we had already paid extra for an extended cab truck. Would not honor the detail. I also had a backup camera installed and it's out again for the third time. The last two times was because of a loose connection but I'll pay someone else to have it fixed correctly. read more

Last update. I received a call from the Everett store assistant manager who offered several very acceptable solutions including looking my truck over, a partial reinbursement for the sub downsize and a dicount on door speakers if I were to buy them at their store. Mind you all of this was pending me raising my review to a minimum of 3 stars. My understanding was I would receive an email with the appointment to look over my truck, never heard back from them again. Recently I purchased my door speakers from a local family owned car audio store and the pricing and service was amazing. Once my speakers were installed I noticed the right front sounded awful...I went back to the family owned store and they tested the speaker...it was fine but they swapped it out regardless....still played awful. Knowing the install at Car Toys was less than tidy I pulled my deck. Once the deck was out I found the right front audio was not fully plugged into the adapter, which caused the problem. While inside my dashboard I found two wires that had been partially sliced leaving exposed wire, almost like they were stripping wire with a knife. So my final experience, I will never go to Car Toys again nor reccomend them to others. read more

Went in with a groupon to get a detail cleaning done on my car and when I show up to pick the car up I get my keys and go check on how they did, VERY poor job there were still crumbs dirt and dust everywhere and when I open the trunk to see the car mats, MOLD still on one of the mats. They had to go back in and redo their job that was supposedly already done. NEVER going back here again. Besides it being expensive even with a discount, the cleaning wasn't even done right. So not worth the money. My husband could have done a better job! I really DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR CAR HERE. So disappointed! read more

My boyfriend had a stereo and back up camera installed in July. He drove the car for a day then drove our other vehicles. On day 3 he went to drive it & the battery was dead, so we charged it. Car started after the charge. Next day went to drive it again, dead. Charged it again, thinking maybe alternator, took it to Dwayne Lanes. They found that the car was drawing 200 ma so it should be connected to a comfort fuse. Called car toys were met with major adittude. Spoke with manager, he said to bring it in Sunday. We dropped it off, went to pick up Monday, and again met with adittude. They said nothing is wrong. So now we'll see if it dies, and then screw Everett car toys, it'll go to a specialist. read more

I took my Tundra quad cab to the Bellevue location to have a sub woofer installed was told it would be mounted behind the back seat. When I picked up my truck sub the woofer was sitting on the back seat floor making it impossible to sit in that seat. When I called to question why they did this their response was just come back and we will put it where it is suppose to go? Needless to say I was upset that they wasted my time on a Saturday after having the truck all day. That was just one of several issues with the install they did. They mounted the amp that powers the sub under the drivers seat so if your sitting in the back seat your feet will be hitting the wiring connections on the back of the amp along with another electronic device they installed there! You'd think they would have put it under the back seat that lifts up? The truck has to be on for the sub woofer to function it does not come on when the ignition is in accessory position? So I can't play the stereo if the trucks isn't running. I will not go back to the Bellevue location based on the poor work and attitude that came a long with it from their staff. Not sure who I can discuss this with high enough up the organization to get all sorted out. Oh and when picked the truck up the jack was sitting on the floor not where it is supposed to be mounted guess it was to much work for them to put it back. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE IF you are a jelly fish consumer that gets roped in easily. They press the hard sell and always try to get you to upgrade. That being said, since the mark up is so high and so much of the cost is in labor; there is a lot of room to wheel and deal. I went in for a purchase that was quoted at over $300 and got it down to $89. Which was great cause that's all I had. If you know what you're doing they are willing to work with you. Stay away from the Everett location!! If you want to get your car detailed this is not the place to go. It is by far the worst treatment I have ever gotten at a business. They treated me poorly! One of the guys even laughed at me and left me standing outside for 10 minutes before the worst manager in the world decided to acknowledge me! I ended up cancelling my appointment and leaving. I really don't know why this place is still in business. The first bad Experience I had with them is when I had a new radio and head unit installed there. The job wasn't done correctly the bluetooth on my radio didn't work correctly. When I brought it back to them they tried to tell me that the problem was my phone and not their instalation. I knew that wasn't true I ended up going back and forth with them for them to finally take the radio back out and fix the issue. And just as I said there was nothing wrong with my phone they just didn't do a good job. After that experience I vowed never to go back there. I made a mistake and when back there to get my car interior detailed. I thought to my self it's detailing not an installation so I'm going to give it a shot. They did a bad job with detailing also. My car door pocket was still dirty, looks the same as it did when brought the car to them, they didn't even touched them. Dirt was left in between the seats. I mean all over the inside of the car was as if they did touched it. Which is sad I really wanted to have something good to say about this place but their service just sucks. I'm never going back there, for real this time. read more

I've used Car Toys and their Groupon 3 times for detailing and I've always been satisfied!!! The first time I used them, my friend's old cat had peed in my car while I was helping her move. It was horrible!!! Car Toys did an excellent job getting the smell out and used the deodorizer a few extra times. I decided to give them 4/5 stars because my 2nd car's fabric seats were still pretty damp after being cleaned. Besides that, I will continue to highly recommend Car Toys Detailing to friends and family! I literally just picked up my Toyota Camry from Car Toys and it looks amazing inside and out! I had to get it detailed because my sister smoked cigarettes in it (without permission). read more

Since when has doing things the right way cost extra? Yesterday I went to the Everett Car Toys for an in dash unit and window tint. The staff was polite and the work was done correctly and looked good. However, now keep in mind I'm paying $125 for installation of parts that plug, snap or slide together, there's no custom work. No cutting to fit, no glueing, none of that. So part way through the installation I'm asked to make a decision; do I want the usb port cable to be just hanging out of the dash somewhere or would I like to pay $50 extra to have have it mounted correctly (drill a single hole and mount it so it's easy to use and won't get damaged. Obviously I chose to pay and have it done right. The kicker is that they really didn't have to do anything because I had them remove the cigarette lighter and use the open hole leftover. They expect me to believe this was a surprise to them? This isn't something that could have been gone over prior to beginning? No, this is how they squeeze you for and extra $50. They know full well, they just don't want you negotiating to have it included in their ridiculously overpriced installation. They want to present you with the option of having done right and look good or done half assed, but it'll cost you $50 more. Most people probably pay it when it's presented like that. Bottom line, it's a shady sales move used to squeeze every last nickel out of you. I will be having more added to my sound system but Car Toys will never be a part of any work on my vehicles again. read more

Got my wife's SUV hooked up with an amp and sub. Between the manager and a sales reps help I was able to decide on what I wanted. They were understaffed on the sales floor and the manager was up front about it (which was a refreshing positive), but they were able to still give me the attention I needed in making my decision. I was told that they were busy with the installs but they would get it done. They warned me that it could take them into the "after closing" times but would get it done. I left the SUV with them and they called me when it was done, which they were able to complete before the quoted time! The install looks good and complete. The sound is great! I spent the next hour driving around because I wanted to keep playing with my newly acquired bass! In a world of negative posts I give them 5 stars! read more

I purchased a exterior detailing on Living Social. I was so excited to get my car waxed and cleaned but when I got there the first thing they did is start trying to up sell me to pay for additional better wax. Not a good way to start out then tried to get me to have them do my interior. I was just there for an exterior detailing period. Then couple hrs after I left my car the same guy calls asking to take the oxidation off my headlamps for $50 each and then dropped it to $25. I said no just the detailing I paid for and hung up. I go back to pick up my car all four tire rims were still dirty not as dirty as prior but not clean and they had put all my stuff from my interior into two big plastic bags supposedly someone thought it was an interior detail also so needless to say I will never go back. Went into car toys thinking they are the masters of their craft. I have a pickup truck with a stock head unit and wanted to add on some door speakers and sub with amp. I wanted to possibly get a new head unit but had concerns that I would lose certain features like phone camera and steering wheel controls. The salesman said an aftermarket unit would work with everything... the shop manager was honest with me and said it would not keep all features so I probably shouldn't get aftermarket head unit if I wasn't ready to lose features. I really appreciated the honesty of the shop manager. I went ahead with just getting the speakers and maps but I had to get a special module to adapt to head unit. I left the vehicle over night and was told it would be ready 3pm the next day. At 5pm the next day the salesman said the adapter wasn't gonna work and I had to wait a week. The part came in and worked fine but I feel like they take on too many projects at a time and hurry through it and don't really give full attention to each car. They got the job done but it was really sloppy. Velcro and a rat's nest of wires everywhere. I was thinking this would be a professional looking install. I'm guessing management is very greedy and try to slam out cars as fast as they can. The shop manager got the job done but I feel like he was being rushed. But now i must rearrange the wiring so it doesn't look like a fire hazard. read more
