It is with great ease that I give 5 stars to this wonderful business. My car was sideswiped while parked in front of my house, leaving it with a destroyed sideview mirror and the hull pretty badly scratched by the right front end. I took my car here after reading previous recommendations and was immediately happy to have done so. Justine, who I spoke with first, was specific, thorough and kindly answered any questions or concerns I had. Soon after driving my car over, she estimated the repair would take about 4 days. Marco, the owner, came to talk to me soon after and estimated the same amount of time. I left the place feeling calm and knowing I could trust them to do a great job. They called me a day ahead of schedule. Everything looking great. They took the trouble to take my car for an alignment! Wow, again, great service, great people. read more

Messed up my front bumper pretty good with a curb that jumped out at me. Marco fixed her right up, took a couple days, but she's good as new. read more

Unbelievable service. Seriously. Marco is amazing, kind, friendly, honest and caring. I had a hit and run and no idea what to do. I got a referral from Patti's Auto Shop across the street and I am so grateful they sent me to Marco and car craft. He made it all so easy, handled my insurance company for me, got me the best repairs possible and even gave me a ride home after I dropped my car off. He was perfectly on time with the repair schedule and always friendly when I called to check in. Do not hesitate to bring your car here. In my mind and heart there isn't any where else to go. Oh, and my car looks amazing. read more

I don't know how my wife found Fernando's place, but she had some work done on her Volvo Wagon and it was a great experience. I read a review that said this is the one of those wonderful Berkeley small business experiences, and I have to agree. I had some road debris whack my car, and I brought it in for an estimate. Fernando fixed it in 30 minutes, shook my hand, and told me it was free but to remember him. So, I am remembering here for all yelpers. This place is certainly as good as it gets. Support this business! read more

Fernando was super patient and explained the whole process to me. His quote was also about $400 less than the five other places I checked out. He even detailed the inside before he gave it back. I won't go anywhere else! read more

Like the other reviews, I had a fantastic experience with Marco and Car Craft. My car was hit twice in a short period of time, with 2 different sets of damages and 2 different insurance companies. It was complicated and Marco was so incredible going to bat for me--helping me figure out the best strategy to get both accidents covered and when to get a rental car for each accident so that I would maximize my insurance coverages in addition to dealing with the insurance companies so that I didnt have to. Also, there was one part that couldn't be found easily for my 1999 Toyota Celica. For well over 6 weeks Marco searched endlessly for this part so he could save my car. In addition and completely unheard of, after my insurance company maxed out on the number of days I could get a rental car paid for, Marco lent me a loaner car for the duration of this time, saving me a bundle in money I otherwise would have spent on a rental car. I couldn't believe how generous he was. And available. Every time I called he was right there for me, helping me figure out the best way to deal with each problem as it arose. And humble and very loving. And honorable. Marco is a man who clearly loves his work and completely loves to help other people. Without his generosity, I would have not only spent a lot of money on a rental car, but also I likely would have had to have my car totaled which I didnt want to do. I can't give enough praise for the amazing experience I had with Car Craft and Marco. I am so grateful my mechanic referred me to him. read more

OK, after a year and a half of living in the East Bay I just found my favorite car guy. Fernando at Car Craft. He's super awesome. I went to get my license put on and he charged me less than he first estimated, even though I was missing a part and he had to search forever to find it in his magical car part drawers. Plus he fixed the side of my car which was jutting out without my asking and at no charge. Plus he gave me some sweet car tips and was really nice. He made my day. I would recommend him for any car body work. read more

A++ service at Car Craft! Don't look any further for a body shop in the east bay. Marco is a miracle worker. My wife ran our car into a wall and Car Craft went above and beyond my expectations fixing the accident. Since we bought our car used, it came back looking batter then ever. Amazing quality and quick turnaround from an old school family business. I highly recommend Car Craft. read more

Woah, Marco is just so.. nice?? I don't think I've ever had such an open and honest experience at an auto shop before. Usually they take one look at me (young, female, and clearly clueless about car stuff) and start quoting me crazy prices... but Marco totally understood where I was coming from. I know I shouldn't be making blanket statements like this, but he really just seemed like a good person. I'm so used to getting ripped off by auto shops that my consultation with him almost felt unreal. I asked another shop for the same estimate and they gave me a price that was literally more than double what Marco quoted me. I didn't end up getting the body work done, because what the heck, my poor car will probably suffer worse by the time I'm done living in Berkeley, but If I ever get into a major scrape, I am definitely going to Car Craft. read more

This place lives up to its reputation as a five star location. Fernando is a really nice guy who seems like he truly cares about his customers. The estimate he gave me was more reasonable than his neighbors, he gave a very detailed explanation of exactly what he would do, and the work was timely and impeccable. The car left that same afternoon looking great. read more

Amazing experience with Marco and Car Craft! My FJ Cruiser was got dinged in a hit and run and they went above and beyond to care for my car (second child) and it came back looking brand new. Marco dealt 100% with the insurance company which made my life easier and you can tell he puts so much effort and pride into his work. They put the customer first and had great advice on how to make the process as painless as possible. I'd recommend Car Craft to anyone. This is my first Yelp review so it takes a lot for me to get me involved - they were that good! read more

I decided to put a good paint job on my 1995 Toyota Corolla in 2005. The car had 63K miles on the odometer but the exterior was horrible. I heard about Fernando from a friend, so there I went. I have never worked with such a meticulous person. He called me several times during the process to get approval for this and that. He wanted my car to look beautiful and oh boy did it when the job was completed. It looked like a brand new car, and I was getting compliments left and right. Someone just hit the rear door on the drivers side last week, left a note on my windshield, and I told his insurance company that I would only work with Car Craft. Fernando's son Marco is now involved in the business, and is just as precise as Fernando. Don't bother going to others for estimates. Car Craft is the best auto body shop in the area. Trust me. read more

Fernando was so great to work with. He was very quick to respond both by email and phone. He was very professional and sincere! Even though my car needed a very easy fix, he examined a few things to prevent the problem from happening again. I felt like I was in good hands, and would definitely go to Car Craft again if I have future problems with my car! read more

Fernando gave great service, fair pricing, and drove a balanced sales pitch. He doesn't contract with any specific insurance company, so I trusted that his pricing and recommendations would be in line with what was best for me. He also seemed refreshingly eager to share car knowledge. Overall, I had a great experience here! read more

These guys are really the best. I would recommend anyone to take their car here. I went to Car Craft (based on the excellent yelp reviews) a few weeks ago because I needed a quote on getting my car fixed after an accident. I especially needed my headlight fixed. Fernando got me a quote within a half hour of taking a look at my car, and said that if it went any higher than what he quoted he would still fix everything with no extra charge. It was more than I could afford, but then he called me right back and said he could take a look at my headlight and maybe fix it so that I wouldn't get a fix-it ticket. I went back the next day, he and his mechanic replaced the bulb and made sure the light was secure, and didn't charge me a thing! Fernando is one of the most honest, kind, and generous businessmen I have ever encountered, and I will definitely be back! Thanks Fernando!! read more

Great shop, great service, great work! Marco didn't just do the work, he considered what needed to be done and presented options. He made sure the timing worked for me. I wasn't paying, but he worked with the responsible party to make sure she was happy, too. I wish everyone understood customer service like Car Craft does. And the car, of course, came back perfect. Can't recommend Car Craft enough! read more

How is it even possible to pick out the number one Collision Specialist on San Pablo other than having a word of mouth? Look on Yelp! And yes.. driven to perfection once again, it is the place to go for any AAA adjustment. I was referred to Car Craft by Patti's Auto Care, after a truck smashed in to the back of my 2012 Honda Fit and destroyed my rear bumper and hatchback door. Marco is professional, kind, fair, and informative + the team did a *fantastic* job advocating for me and totally fixing my vehicle. My car was not only repaired, it was also returned to me cleaner and better-looking than when I dropped it off. The team was communicative about their timeline, coordinated rides for me to/from Enterprise down the street for my rental, and truly did a wonderful job with my car. Thanks Car Craft - you all are fantastic! read more

We got rear ended and our insurance company wanted us to simply call it a complete loss. I was referred to Marco at Car Craft and he was awesome. He worked with us and made it clear that safety was his priority. However, he also was not into wasting a car that could be safely back on the road with some work. He provided a good assessment and followed through. There were no surprises and we got our car back on the road. Great customer service, great prices, and great work. read more

I had a very positive and pleasant experience with Car Craft! Marco and his shop did an excellent job of repairs on my car, and within reasonable time. Marco and his assistant Justine were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Car Craft. read more

I got into a weather-related accident while driving across the country to Berkeley. I hit a post in the snow after skidding quite a bit. The car had damage to both driver side doors, and the rear quarter panel, trunk and bumper. The car was declared a total, but I had grown sentimental with it and decided to keep it. Fernando, the owner of Car Craft, helped me deal with the insurance company, including disputing the car appraisals and helping me ask the important questions I needed to ask from my insurance company. After I told him that I wanted to get it fixed even though it was a total, Fernando tried to cut my out of pocket costs. The quality of the work was fantastic...I was amazed with how well the car looked. Fernando's estimate was spot on. Whenever he ran into an issue (parts delayed, etc) , he would call me right away and let me know what was going on. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs body work. I'm not sure how his prices compare to others in the area, but I thought what I paid was reasonable. read more

I'm happy that Car Craft is officially my 1st Yelp review. I really enjoyed my experience getting my car fixed up at Car Craft. I went in for an estimate because my Solara had a nasty paint chip that was growing. Even though Marco was not there at that time, the follow-up calls showed that they wanted my business. Once Marco analyzed the chip on my car, he gave me an estimate and followed through with the price. After a couple of days, the car body fixes were done as promised. The attention to detail was indeed crafty. My car looked beautiful, and I was proud of driving it again. All the staff were friendly and personable. It's hard to come by great customer service these days. So, when you do find genuine folks who love their work and providing service, it is a breath of fresh air. I would definitely go back in the future for repair needs!!! read more

Marco gave me helpful information about the insurance process, and what my choices were. I got multiple estimates and Car Craft's was the lowest. Saved me a bundle. The work was great. In addition, I asked for left over touch up paint so I could work on other areas of my car. He ordered bottles for him to put the paint in. And both Marco and Justine were so friendly. Great price. Great work. Great customer service. Thanks so much Marco! read more

Working with Car Craft was the best experience I've ever had with an auto shop. They helped me navigate a really tough time when my car had been totaled and I was being pushed around by the insurance company of the driver who hit me. Marco and Justine were able to provide expert advice and even advocated on my behalf as I fought to get paid out for my vehicle. I couldn't have done things without their help and I will always go back to Car Craft in the future. Check them out!!! read more

Car Craft did an amazing job! Car Craft dealt with the insurance company and kept us up to date. The price, in the end, for a lot of work, was very reasonable. Pleasant and helpful to work with. The car now looks amazing. I will come back if I need to! read more

I also had a great experience with Car Craft. I just (accidentally, haha) reaer-ended another car with my old Toyota, and when I called Fernando, he made himself immediately available. When I arrived an hour later, he immediately gave the car his full attention, and though we ended up agreeing that it wasn't worth fixing, he fixed up my light and even refused to let me pay him a little for his time!! Really, what a great guy. He strikes me as knowledgeable of his craft, very friendly, super honest, and just simply nice. I'd love to have him as my neighbor!!! I highly recommend Car Craft, if there was a sixth star he'd get it. ~ Carla read more

Look no further, Car Craft is the real deal -- a business dedicated to customer service and professionalism. Marco and his staff are great at what they do. They are kind, caring and a pleasure to work with. Remember the days when businesses where like this? I crunched the front end of my beloved 96 Toyota wagon and everyone at Car Craft was super helpful thru the process. The car -- and especially the new front end! -- looks better than it ever has and the process was painless. Justine was super helpful in navigating with both the insurance company and rental car agency to make things as smooth as possible. I live in Oakland so their San Pablo, Berkeley location is a bit of a schlep, but it's totally worth it. God forbid I ever need repairs again, this is where I'm going! read more

It's never easy when your car gets hit. Marco and team made it as painless as I can imagine. The car was in and out VERY quickly and looks better than I'd imagined. They coordinated a car rental for me, they were communicative, and they lived up to every commitment. I couldn't ask for better! read more

Fantastic workmanship, delivered in a timely fashion, with great service and individual attention. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is a local business, family run. Also, they speak Spanish. If you need bodywork done on your car, and you are in the east bay (San Francisco east bay), go here. The front left side of my 1995 Toyota Corolla was badly smashed. The back left side had been previously dented. I went in and talked to Marco, who is in the shop now while his Dad, Fernando, takes a health break. I've never worked with anyone who was so helpful and so careful, and also took my financial situation into account (no collision insurance on an old car.) The car looks great and I couldn't be happier. read more

Wow !! So much to say. Marco and Justine are so so incredible. I have never had any collisions before, and one morning I woke up to my car completely smashed with no note on it. My car was an absolute mess. While waiting for insurance to get it together, I went ahead and called the mechanic I have been to in the Bay Area (Ed's best mechanic) that's literally a few doors down, and they gave me the recommendation for a body shop to come to Car Craft! Best advice I have ever gotten. I gave them a call, and Justine assured me that everything was going to be okay (because seriously, I was so stressed about dealing with the insurance and the fact that my car got hit) and they promised they would help me with everything every step of the way! Which they indeed did. So far I have gotten the "bare minimum" done to my car for the mean while, and they did such an amazing job!!!! Seriously never thought I would be writing a review for a body shop, because let's be real, the car industry is particularly scummy, especially when it comes to being a woman dealing with car issues. I felt none of this with car craft!!!! If you need body work done to your car you have got to go here! You won't regret it. read more

Car Craft is the best auto body shop I've dealt with-and I've delt with a lot! Fernando the owner is extremely professional and does an incredible job! My car looks great after having the bumper repaired. The owner also cleaned up some marks on my car and showed me some problems that were not fixed by a previous repair. I would go back in a second. I totally trust him and his work is excellent! read more

Since this is another 5-star review for Car Craft, I'll give you my impression of other places I looked after my car was backed into while parked. First, I went to my insurance carrier's (Allstate) recommendation which was Classic Autobody. It was the most technically impressive, by far, of all the shops. Large, clean, busy, with fancy equipment (e.g., device for straightening auto frames). I liked the guy who made the estimate (possibly "Howard," an African American) who was sympathetic as well as efficient. Next, I went to M&M on the basis of Yelp reviews. The guy seemed like he would genuinely help get my car back on the road. He took a picture of the car's ID information on the driver's door panel. He said that he would get back to me the next day. I never heard from him. Premiere Auto Body was too small and crowded to get into. I passed it up. Next stop was Koehler Auto Body. The shop looked almost empty. The guy came out from the office, seemed bored. He asked if I had gotten an estimated from my insurance company. I told him Yes; he said come back it I want them to work on it. Didn't examine the car. I wondered if they were still in business. Since I had a $600 deductable on my insurance, and the rest was covered, I did not compare prices. Because the place I take my Volvo (which I really like and trust is Model Garage), recommended Car Craft, I chose them. Everything (and a bit more) was done on time in excellent condition. read more

First time using Car Craft. Marco offered creative, cost-effective solutions for body work to our Honda Accord. He estimated a reasonable price, and that was the final price. He delivered on exactly what he promised in terms of the work, including on the completion date, and there were no surprises. He was also a pleasure to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Car Craft for body work. read more

Marco and his crew are so lovely and did amazing work on my car. I will definitely be back the next time I need anything done. They were really easy to work with, had great communication, and great service! read more

After a collision, Marco agreed to give an estimate to the other party's vehicle in hopes of repairing it out of pocket. It didn't work out as the damage proved too extensive, but I really appreciated the time Marco took reviewing the damage and calling me and discussing options and trying to make it work for me. Would definitely go to them again. read more

Fernando and Marco are simply amazing! This is the second time I've used them and the service they provided went far beyond my expectations. I was in an accident and had a lot of problems dealing with the insurance company. They explained how the whole process would work and kept in contact with me whenever they received information to keep me updated. If there was any insurance language I didn't understand, they explained it in detail and gave their honest opinions when it seemed like the insurance company was lagging. I'd definitely recommend them! read more

My car was stolen earlier this month. Whoever stole it took it for a joyride and banged it up pretty badly. Car craft is such a great shop. I feel so comfortable when I am here. Marco offered to come sit with me on my first accident. This, by far, is the best experience I have ever had and my car looks beautiful! read more

Now THIS is a quality business. Family-owned and operated, friendly and courteous, I had an amazing experience and will recommend them for years to come. No one ever wants to go to a body-shop, kinda like the dentist. I was looking on Yelp and basically calling and showing up at body-shops just to figure out which one to use. There was just something about Marco that said to me "this guy deserves your business." I knew from the minute I met him that I wanted them to fix my car, after going and meeting the folks at 4 other Berkeley shops. I'm so glad that I did. What an amazing job they did. The attention to detail was amazing, the car was fixed in a timely manner, the price was competitive too. I lucked out to say the least. I'm so glad I found them, and know exactly where Ill be going if I need another body shop again. Hopefully I won't, ya know, but 'if'. Thanks Marco! I'll hopefully be getting you word-of-mouth business from friends/co-workers. read more
