By far the worst experience I have had in my life with any type of service. I got my car towed there on December 20th for them to do an estimate. After receiving an estimate state farm went out on December 23rd and approved the work to be started. Goodyear said it would take a week or so at the most for all the work to be done and I got a rental car through State Farm. On January 6th which was already passed the estimated time, Omar (the manager) told me they sent it to the body shop and it would be another couple days and everything would be good. On January 12th I called back and it still wasn't done and Omar told me it will be another couple days still. I then told him it is way past the time they told me and that State Farm would not be paying for my rental car anymore and I need it done ASAP. I was doing this very commonly until Omar had the audacity to tell me to "be patient" when I wanted a date for my car to be done. I told him I have been patient and it's been weeks and the car should be done. Omar then "gave me his word" that he would cover the rental car payment just to pay it on my card and he would reimburse me and that it would just be a couple more days. After another week and my card being charged for my rental car, I called Omar and asked how he would be taking care of the rental car for me. (car still wasn't done) He told me to not charge anymore to my car and he would call the rental car place and he would call them and take care of it for me. Fast forward to January 26th, Omar then tells me that there is more damage done and they need to send a supplement out to the insurance for more money!. After over a month they are just figuring it out that they need more money! So now I had to wait another 4 days for state farm to go out there and approve it. During this time Omar calls me and tells me not to call the body shop to contact him that they are taking care of his car. I never called the body shop and didn't know what shop it was even at but found it very weird for him to be telling me this. He then tells me that they will take care of the 2 weeks of the rental car but not the time they are waiting for the insurance to come out and look at the car. I tell him that State Farm will not pay more than the $600 they already did and if they didn't take so long that we wouldn't be passed that already. After going back and fourth I just said fine I'll pay the 4 days if he covers the 2 weeks that he "gave his word" which he agreed. So State Farm makes it out and approves everything on the supplement except a new bumper because the body shop seemed to lose the old one. (state farm told me it's common practice for them to hold on to it until estimator comes out) Omar then tells me unless insurance covers it I will have to pay the difference which made me upset again. After going back and fourth with insurance and goodyear Omar texts me that "he saved the day again" and found the bumper like he did me a favor. He then tells me he will be paying the 2 weeks of the rental car at $10 a day which is there rate. Unfortunately the rental car was $30 a day so I was getting screwed with that like I knew I would. The rental cars total cost was $1200, $600 covered by state farm, $460 covered by me and only $140 covered by goodyear which he "gave me his word" he would cover. He was blaming the difference on my now saying that I rented from a different spot and I should've rented from his spot which he would have received that rate. I told him he never told me that and that he told me weeks ago he spoke with them which obviously he didn't so I was now paying $460 more than expected and now waited over 5 weeks for a job that was supposed to take 7-10 days. After the 5 week wait and stress of going back and fourth and being told to "relax" on multiple times and being lied to about my money I finally got to go get my car. I was trying to be as calm as possible because I didn't want to lose it and I wanted my car. I get my keys and go check it and 3/4 of the car was fixed but still a huge dent that occurred in my accident was not even touched. I go inside and Omar says that that wasn't on the estimate. I then ask to see it and see on the estimate the quarter panel is on there but Omar makes up some Bullshi& and makes up something and tells me to take it up with my insurance. I tell him no let's call insurance now that we are all together to figure this out. He calls state farm and the first thing he is asking for and giving state farm attitude about is when is he receiving the payment. (like state farm is going to delay or lie) After talking to state farm and him telling her his bullshi% about the quarter panel that he tells me, state farm just told me to get my car out of there and they will send me to a new spot and not to worry about it that they will cover it even though it should've already been done there! Specializing in only tires is more like it. Let me first say this much. If you are having you car serviced, anywhere for that matter, be sure you meet the mechanic who is servicing your car, make him show you what the problem is before starting work on your car, and after he is finished, let him show you the aftermath of the service! Ahem, now I can begin my RANT. AVOID this place! The manager drives a freakin' corvette and one of the mechanics drives a freakin' hummer. That there should make you think twice already. So, I needed tire work done, and I decided to go to this goodyear since it was close to home. Called before going in, since i like to shop around before spending, and asked if they did the work I needed done. They said sure and quoted a price for me, which I found reasonable. Went in two days later, got the work done, and as I was about pay for the work they had already done, I am told that I would need mounts. Really, I say? So, I figured since my car would shake roughly, maybe they were right and that I did need mounts. I went on, paid for the mounts and was told to return two days later to have that work done. Now all the while, I am thinking, gee, they specialize in tires and brakes, not engines, so should I really have them work on anything under my hood? I should have said NO. After getting the mounts done, a week later, I begin to experience the SAME problem. How could that be when I paid almost 1k for this? Went back because then, my engine light came on. Figured OK, let them see what was going on because the engine light had kept coming on prior to going to them, but since i was there, i figured why not let them see. They tested the engine light, and BAM! Said i needed a new coil. OK, easy, check! I say, No problem, but will this fix the shaking? THey said yes. After leaving that time, I still felt the shaking and the engine light kept coming on. Went back to them, and they said, "You need a new fuel injector for F.I #2." I said IMPOSSIBLE, i just bought one from my dealership two months ago. THey tell me, "NO WAY. You do not have a new F.I #2 because all 4 of yours are old." I say, "OLD!? You're kidding, right?" They say, "No, the dealership service never gave you a new one." While you let that marinate, the tech takes me outside and shows me ONLY the wires near the F.I, not under the plate, which is where all four of the F.Is are. The tech and the guy who writes you up, Charles, were ademant that i had nothing new, so told me to go to my dealership and say to them what they had just told me. Then, told me i need to ask for my money back since the F.I was not new like I purchased. So since i figured they were "mechanics," Charles and the tech would at least talk to my dealership to let them know of their discoveries, but Charles said, "No, I would only make things worst if i talked to them." I found this quite odd being that he and the tech said to my face nothing was new under my hood, and because hell, I was going to make things worst by going in there looking crazy as I later found out, but said OK. But because I trusted this ppl, I believed what they said, and went to my dealership like a raging bull. To make a long story short and because my dealership is honest, they took apart the F.I compartment and showed me that THEY DID, IN FACT, GIVE ME A NEW F.I. THEY PROVED THESE LIARS WRONG! I called goodyear back to speak to Charles to let him know what i discovered and that they were wrong. He tells me, "Well, we did check it, we just didnt check it all the way with you. The F.I # 2 was not new." CRAZY! This shows me 1) these guys do not know what they are doing, 2) only want to collect more money to buy Corvettes, Hummers, Mercedes, BMWs, etc, and 3) LIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I will NEVER go here for anything else, not even TIRES! FYI, when I was last sitting in the waiting area, I over heard some guy come in saying, "The tires I got from you all were dangerous." That should have been a warning for me then. Oh, did i mention that this jerk did not even apologize for being WRONG? It was like he was saying, "What do you want me to do?" You jerk, I want an apology from you for misdiagnosing. I want a f***ing apology for looking crazy at my dealership. And lastly, someone needs to be fired! Obviously, two people here do not know what a FUEL INJECTOR is! Ahem, PLEASE GO TO YOUR DEALERSHIP! I know you may think it is expensive, but if you want quality service, this Goodyear is not the place. And you must know, if your dealership does something wrong, they could definitely fix it without charge. Sometimes, it pays to spend a little more rather than spend less and get cheated! At this moment, I am calling to speak to the manager because something needs to be done! Update: $2000 gone, never to return to my bank acct again! Recently when I learned that the ball joint on my car was loose, I called Goodyear Tire plus and spoke with Faisal about getting it replaced. He gave me a reasonable and competitive quote to repair it. Because I was familiar with their work and service, I left my car with them. In the last year and half I've had my brakes pads and rotors replaced as well as all four tires. As in the past, they stood behind the amount they quoted me without the last minute add-on which usually increases the bottom line. I like the fact that they are true to their word when it pertains to diagnosis and quotes. Before I dropped the car off, I had been hearing some noise like metal clinking together, so I was hoping that this would solve that issue. Faisal was very realistic about the turn-around time. First, they had all the parts ordered and delivered BEFORE they told me to bring the car in for repair. I dropped my car off before 8 am and was told that it should be ready by end of day, but in case they encountered a problem with the alignment, it could be early the next morning. I appreciated their honesty. After picking the car up and although the car was driving smoother, I could still hear the "clinking" noise. A repair technician got in the car with me and drove around the block to verify the noise and pinpoint where it was coming from on the car. He realized where it was located and had an idea of what could be causing the sound. He spoke with the manager Omar, asked if I had about 30 minutes and proceeded to take the car around to one of the stalls. I was soon driving out of the place without the clinking noise. Basically, it was the muffler component that needed to be tightened. These guys are efficient at what they do and very professional in how they treat their customers. read more

I read all the bad reviews, unfortunately AFTER my car was towed in for transmission trouble. The place was recommended by AAA so I tried to relax when Jesus told me they would take good care of my vehicle. I was called about two hours into the estimate, worried, but Jesus confirmed the trouble was my transmission, they could fix it and it would take about 3-4 days. TOO late to take my vehicle to another shop so despite my concerns I let Goodyear Tire Plus repair my vehicle. Long story short...my car repair was seamless, vehicle ran fine from day one, is running very nicely today and I'm writing this review about 3 months later, not one problem, seriously. My car was ready when they said it would be, I even checked on the vehicle once while it was there, but all was well. Basically, I'm putting in this good review because my experience was positive. I'm not sure I met Omar whom folks speak badly about, but my vehicle was well serviced at this facility. The place is clean, they have amenities if you're waiting, lots of technicians and inventory, they were polite and friendly. I was offered a rental car from the lot next door, but I got my own favorite rental place so I declined. I never once felt I was being given the sham and I'm happy to report, this review was also written for anyone who does end up taking their car to the shop. Perhaps every experience is not bad and you should judge for yourself. I believe those who wrote about terrible experiences, but perhaps the management got your point, and made some changes. I waited to write this review to give my car time to show problems, but there have been none, not one problem, I never took my vehicle back due to any problems. It will always be a battle dealing with a mechanic shop.. I have learned over the years through much experience that a lot of service writers are only good for upselling. Its such an annoying thing not knowing exactly what's wrong with your own vehicle and finding someone who can tell you that exactly is difficult enough. I moved to the south loop of Chicago where living is expensive let alone having to maintain a car in the city. Owned everything from a rundown Honda civic to my current 13' BMW 6 Series which is really my prized possession. I drive the hell out of it and Maintaining this vehicle isn't the easiest thing and I am very grateful I have found a group of guys like this. Second time dealing with them and I have to say the expertise is there and these guys don't give you the run around. No fast talking. They understand money is a factor and they don't bs. With all the things that could go wrong they are quick to solve the issue. I owe Omar Jesus and the techs this review. Honestly, thank you guys! read more

Love this place they have fixed all my vehicles, Excellent work!! Very affordable prices, and quality work. People that write bad reviews just need to realize everywhere you go payment is required nothing is free. These are the vehicles I had fixed here. Lexus GS300, BMW 525i, Chevy Corvette, AUDI A7. Goodyear has my business forever. OLD REVIEW-DATED FOR 2/19/16 I took my car to Goodyear I have 2006 Lexus Gs300 and it was having transmission issue I took the car to dealer and gave me really high of estimate and said I have to replace my transmission but then I went to Goodyear and the did diagnostic on my car and told me I do not have to replace the transmission and just need to install solenoid and fixed the problem for a great price and now my car is running great without any issue. I really happy with the service I highly recommend this shop to everyone and they have great staff that can help people on daily bases. read more

I ONLY recommend this mechanical shop for a couple reasons: First, their attention to detail is amazing. And not in the "I'm going to point out a bunch of stuff wrong with your car to increase this bill" kind of way. These guys were honest. I needed an Oil Change, new set of tires, and some washer fluid (this they did for FREE!!!!) Second, I needed a way to get around while my car was at their shop. They have a RENTAL place next door!!!! It sucked to pay out of pocket for it but, hey, at least they offered me the option!! I paid about 35-40 dollars a day for a nice rental. Lastly, Communication!!!!!!!! DISCLAIMER: THIS SHOP IS BUSY. So be patient with them. These guys found a way to get back to me every single time! I'm beyond impressed with their customer service and the quality of the work. It's been 2 weeks since I picked up the car and haven't had any issues yet!! read more

Very quick and friendly service. I had a tire go down in Chicago on our way from South Bend to Milwaukee with four kids under seven in the car. After a few hours spent getting the spare on I worried that the tire repair would set us back even further. From the time I arrived at Goodyear/Tire Plus to when I left with a functioning tire was less than 20 minutes. They were able to patch a pretty sizable puncture and even changed the tire in the parking lot to avoid disrupting one of the kids who was sleeping in the car. They also put my spare, jack, and wrench back into place without being asked. What was a very frustrating flat tire experience ended on a high note because of Tire Plus/Goodyear. My car overheated on the expressway and AAA towed it to Goodyear the next day. I am surprised by all the bad reviews because I had a good experience. The place is big, so it probably depends on who helps you. I was given an estimate over the phone by Tito at noon the day the car came in, and the work was done at 3pm the next day. He explained the problems with the car without being condescending (a rarity in my experience). He told me the repairs I needed to get the car running, plus he suggested some other repairs I could do to prevent more damage. When I said I didn't have the money for an additional $675 in repairs, that was the last I heard of it. There was no pushing the extra work like I am a terrible car owner for not spending more than I have to. That was a week ago and the car is running great. read more

I had a terrible experience at this Good year tire plus at 1806 S Wabash. My car was towed to this location and before anyone looked at the car the tow driver left. The tow truck driver and the Good Year manager appeared to be assisting each other in making a sale on repairs. They looked at my car and found multiple things wrong and then told me they couldn't fix it that day, and left me stranded in there lot with no car and no way to get home at 7 pm . When I went to get my car 2 days later because that's how long it took them to install a battery and a alternator , they charged me for parking in there lot. The employee's were not informative and the charges were over priced. I would never go back to this horrible place. Beware, this place is a rip off. There is no rating for this place!! read more

I had a flat tire 3 months ago over Thanksgiving and these guys were able to quickly give me a new tire. I had purchased my other tires less than a year ago. Recently I had a bubble in one of the tires I had purchased from another shop and they would not install and honor a warranty for a new tire because the Goodyear tire was a different speed rating. So, I take the 3mo old tire back to Goodyear and they bought it back without any questions or fight; only "we'd be happy to help you out!" Most importantly, they have always been very honest and EXTREMELY friendly to me and all of the customers I've been in the shop with. They really have a family atmosphere and approach. It's not always easy to choose a good shop, but these guys are doing the right thing by their customers! Thank you!! read more

I can only speak for my own experience, but I will say I am surprised to see some of the negative reviews. I had a blowout on the highway in my Chevy Trailblazer and attempted to fix the flat myself. To my surprise, the spare was rusted to the bottom of the car! I had no choice but to get it towed to a specialist and came to good year. I dealt with Jesse, and he took very good care of me, they had the spare on and running in under two hours, which I was happy with given I had no appointment. They also sold me a tire to replace the spare. I did my due diligence and checked several online tire retailers and found the tires are priced competitively here. Overall a positive experience from beginning to end, would recommend to anyone looking for a good shop downtown. read more

I was on a business trip to Chicago when I hit a nasty pothole and had two flat tires. I am from St. Louis, where I have a mechanic I know I can trust, so I was weary about taking it to local shops, but I know chains can be just as bad. Ultimately I decided to take it to the Good Year after reading the yelp reviews on the tire repair experiences. Man, am I glad I did! I told them I had an urgent meeting, and despite no advance notice, they were able to have me out the door with two new tires in under two hours. Not one to get ripped off, following my trip I looked online and called several local shops, and Good Year's prices were in line with or lower than anywhere I looked. If I lived in the area, I would definitely give them my regular business. Thanks guys! read more
