I have to give them credit as they changed my oil but things went badly wrong beyond that. They informed me I had an oil leak. This was correct. My oil pressure sensor was in fact leaking. They said the sensor cost $110 and labor would would be two hours for $150ish. I had my other car have this sensor failure last year. I pointed out the auto parts store on the next block had the sensor for $26 and you literally just unscrew the sensor. They came back with a bid just over $100 with a special appointment. I drove to my usual mechanic and we got a sensor for $11 lifetime warranty and 0.6 hours labor for around $70. The lift was occupied so we attacked the problem with floor jacks with most the time getting around the oil filter. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR OIL CHANGED HERE. My partner decided to take up their offer for an oil change on our 2013 Hyundai Accent. The car, despite its age, was running perfectly fine beforehand. Not long after the service, our car was suddenly "out of oil," and a loud knocking noise started whenever we accelerated. We were quoted $3,500 to fix the damage as a new ENGINE was needed and ultimately ended up having to sell the car for only $300. This was an extremely costly and frustrating experience. Yall did forget to reattach the doohickey that holds the glove compartment in though, thank god for YouTube, saved me a trip coming back to fix it! Went here for a 50% off oil change promotion they were doing for customer appreciation. They told me the price before the promotion was $141 never been charged that in my life for a full synthetic oil change so obviously they jacked the price up for customer appreciation! I let that slide. They tried to get me to get a new filter, told them my dad can do it. Last minute, my service was done, he comes in a says I had a headlight out. Don't know where that came from, my car always notifies me if a light is out and I didn't see anything. For some reason I believed him so they fixed it without telling me the price before. Otherwise I would've said no I'll take it to autozone!!!!! My bill was $123 so much for customer appreciation! Jeez! All of this also took quite a while. Won't be returning to this location. The service is fast, and the techs are friendly, but the manager pushes small services too aggressively and gets upset when you decline them. I recommend doing a thorough check of your car beforehand--somehow, my headlight went out right after an oil change. The price is also way too high for a simple oil change. jiffy lube employees drained all my trans fluid out and sealed back the plug, thinking it was my engine oil. my car instantly couldn't move and they almost messed up my trans. My fiancé and I have a car rental business in South Loop but we always drive to get an oil change here instead of going to another location that's closer. Great service and quality employees! Everyone is so nice and friendly. They take you in quickly, and get you situated immediately. They are never pushy, like some of the other franchises, and always respect your decisions. I was disappointed a couple of days ago when a light on my dashboard informed me that my back driver's side tire was suddenly low on air. For years I'd lived with or close to my parents, so my dad usually just pulled out his air pump and fixed these minor issues for me. However, now that I live a little farther from them, this usually small task became a lot more daunting, so I did what any grown adult would do and... I called my dad to ask what to do. I WILL ADMIT THAT. He said to look for a place that'd take a look at my tires, and assured me that most places will fill a tire with low pressure at no cost. The "no cost" part was music to my ears, but I was nervous that I wouldn't be lucky to find a spot that did this task for free in my neighborhood. I simply typed "tires" into the search bar on Yelp, and this Jiffy Lube location came up. I read some glowing reviews and looked for specific tire-themed tales on the page, and knew I'd found my spot. I showed up at 2:05pm on a Tuesday afternoon, told the gentleman outside that my back tire wasn't looking so hot, and he told me to leave my keys in the ignition and head inside to grab a cup of coffee. I am not exaggerating at all when I say that I filled a cup with coffee, sat down in a chair to check my email on my phone, and began to reply to one email before the employee came back out to let me know they were done. Seriously. It was, like, 2:13pm. He said there wasn't a nail or anything, but that the cold outside probably affected the tire pressure. It was such an easy thing that I'm mad at myself for being worried about running this errand! Oh, and it was free, so most importantly... dad was right. read more

What a scam! I brought in a valid, unexpired online coupon for their specific location for $10 off. I showed the coupon when I arrived before agreeing to service and they said that it was valid. When speaking with Orlando about service, I once again reminded him about the coupon and he stated "If it's a coupon that I can scan, then I can apply it." Once at checkout, he scans the coupon and says that because of a new computer system he cannot accept it. What a classic bait and switch! He offered me a $10 off coupon for my next visit. How do you expect me to believe that you'll honor that coupon next time if you cannot even honor a valid coupon during the current visit when I was twice told it would be honored in the first place?? That's really poor customer service. I didn't even bother to argue over $10. I have driven my car in before and when the problem was out of the scope of services offered I have asked for advice (what they think it is and what to say to the mechanic) and they have been right on the money. So incredibly, genuinely helpful. To the owner of this franchise: hats off to you. To own and run a successful franchise and much more importantly, hire consistently good people, is commendable. The man at the front desk treated me like any man at a car maintenance shop does, like I know nothing, and tried to up sell me on air filters, brake pads, new tires, the whole 9 yards. Low rating mainly because of the tech that was servicing my car (second time in a row something like this has happened to me at jiffy). I requested just my usual oil change and the tech came back to me atleast 3 different times to try to sell something else to me. Disappointed in this sexist treatment because he didn't do that to any of the guys coming in for an oil change. At one point he asked me something about my coolant to which i responded "no thank you, just the oil change please" and he said " do you even know what that is". I would not recommend using this location under any circumstances. Went in today for an oil change and tire rotation. After leaving the service noticed the tire pressure light was on (that was not on before). Went back and they said "all the tire pressures were fine". Explained to them that the light was not on before, and they stated sometimes when they do the tire rotation it sets of the light and they are unable to fix it. They basically stated that it was "not their issue" and suggested I go to Firestone to rectify the issue. They did not apologize, not offer a refund even for the tire rotation that set off all of the issues (that they did not warn me about before hand). My husband ended up fixing the issue by going to a gas station to even out the tire pressures. Terrible customer service and business practices. read more

They're also first come first serve so if you're busy on the weekend it's a perfect stop and go when you need to keep your car running smoothly. Definitely the place to go. I took my car in to this place for 3 consecutive oil changes. I had been having some issues with the car making weird noises and thought an oil change might help. I would later find out from my normal mechanic in the burbs, that they hadn't even been changing the oil in the car. When they attempted to drain the old oil to change it, nothing would drain out and they had to pull out solid chunks of very very old oil. WOULD NOT EVER BRING MY CAR HERE AGAIN. read more

The worst. They messed up my brake line then rather mysteriously my a data was erased out of thier system when I let them know it was done less than a year ago and still under warranty. Tried to go there recently and waited for 20 min only for a tech to tell me to back up and go in another line. So I left. Terrible crew. I found out that they cross threaded my oil plug, didn't tell me and now my car leaks oil. It'll cost about $2,500 to fix it. Prior to that they stole my lug locks AND the lug key...which they also didn't tell me. This is the worst place to go for an oil change in the city. Avoid at all costs. read more
