I went to Somboon after reading reading many yelp reviews on various auto service stations and calling them on the phone. I spoke with 'Junior' and he was great about making a convenient time for me to bring my car in and offered a preliminary estimate from what we discussed it needed which was a brake job. Junior was friendly, called me with a final price prior to doing any work to get my approval, called me promptly when the work was done, and showed me the replaced parts and why they needed replacing. Another point definitely worth mentioning is that he also saved me money as well and didn't try to up the sale at all. I was thinking I needed front brakes. After he looked at it, he said I actually needed back brakes(which were cheaper) and I still had about half the life left on the front. Excellent! I took my car for an oil change because the reviews from other yelpers are so positive but I'm sad to report my experience was less than stellar. About ten minutes after getting there, Junior, the owner, let me know he couldn't change my oil because my oil tank screw was rotting and I needed to have the entire tank replaced because not only was the screw no longer good, but the tank was full of rust. He quoted me almost $600 to replace it and pushed for me to leave my car there. He said I would be leaking oil and that it was "unsafe" to drive. I have a regular place I take my car for repairs so imagine my surprise when I took it there to have the oil tank changed only to find out that the only thing my car needed was a new screw for the tank not a new tank. Thank god I didn't listen to this guy, instead of paying $600 for a repair I didn't need I paid $7 for a new plug. This is one place I will most definitely NOT be going back to. read more

I tried calling the new phone number on the sign out front and the guy told me that Lert Somboon is not involved with the new "QS" Auto Service that's opening up in early January. I called around trying to find a low priced place for an oil change and this was the place. For $25 dollars they saw my car immediately, checked all the fluids, replaced the oil, and included a fill up on transmission fluid. Junior, owner of the shop, was very friendly. This place is a fantastic little gem. I am always suspicious of auto repair shops - they have a bad reputation for a good reason. This place defies that stereotype. Junior, who may own the shop - not sure but he is always there, is extremely friendly and honest. They only quote and do the work that is needed, and it is very reasonably priced. If you live in the area, please bring your business here instead of Lawrence & Ashland Repair (where they completely reinforce the shyster stereotype). A big plus if you own a Jeep Wrangler - Junior is a big fan (I think he said he owns two of them) and he knows them inside-out. read more

I live within a couple of blocks of this place and was delighted to see such good reviews on Yelp. I brought my car there yesterday morning (after stopping by on Monday to discuss it with them). I feel I got great service! Lert was all ready for me to drop off my car, listened to what I wanted done and said he would call me when he had looked at it. He called me within the hour and told me exactly what he thought needed to be done and how much it would be. I agreed and said that I would pick it up this morning.
