I normally do not write bad reviews but here, I feel a duty to warn you if you are thinking of having them do any job that involves removing or installing tires on your vehicle. On November 22, this shop put my winter tires on my vehicle. This past Friday (December 12), I got a flat. When I went to change the tire, it took all of my body weight standing on the lug wrench and rocking up and down while holding the side of the car to loosen the first four wheel bolts, and I am not a small or weak guy by any stretch. Unfortunately, the head of the last lug nut was stripped and thus impossible to get off, as the lug wrench would not grip it sufficiently to apply the 1,000 ft/lbs of torque or whatever was needed to loosen it. I thus had to have the car towed to a shop to remove the wheel bolt and put the spare tire on. In decades of driving and getting multiple flat tires over the years, I've never not been able to change one. Last Friday marked the first time. My theory is that in the interest of speed, as well as post-COVID staffing shortages, many shops, including this one, have inexperienced and untrained employees using an air wrench to tighten the wheel bolts. Wheel bolts, however, are supposed to be torqued to a specific specification - usually 80-120 lbs/ft, depending on your car. Air wrenches, when not properly used, can apply massively more torque than this. Overtightening wheel bolts may not sound like a big deal. Tight is good, yes? Well, doing this causes multiple problems. For one thing, unless you are an athlete with a lot of strength, you won't be able to change your tire if you get a flat and you will be stranded. Hopefully you are not in a remote area, it's not very late at night, or it's not freezing cold when that happens - and when else would it happen? LOL! Excessive torque from an air wrench can strip the slightly rounded heads of wheel lug nuts and bolts. See attached pictures of my stripped wheel bolt. If that occurs, then the wheel bolt isn't coming off and you will need a tow to a shop, and hopefully you are near one when you get your flat tire! Overtightening can cause stress fractures in your rim, warp your brake rotors, and crack or damage your wheel studs if you have a lug nut/stud setup. If you have wheel locks, an overtightened wheel lock bolt can break your wheel key, and you will spend hundreds of dollars getting the lock off. Thank God that did not happen to me on Friday, as my wheel lock bolt was one of the ones I was able to wrestle off, but it easily could have. My recommendation is to avoid this place and torque your own wheel bolts. If you are not in a position to do that, then find a reputable shop with good reviews and ask them if they use a torque wrench or an air wrench when they install wheels. If they use an air wrench, or you get a vague and uncertain answer, go to a different shop that will torque your wheels down to their proper factory specifications. Your life may actually depend on it! read more

These people are SCAMMERS. So I came here by referral because my tire was flat and I had a spare tire in my trunk that needed to be put on. See it's obvious that my spare tire was sitting in my trunk as soon my trunk opens; common sense. So I explained to them about 3 times that I want my spare that I had in my trunk put on my car. So checked in and waited. Upon the conclusion of service, I saw that these workers had put on my donut spare tire on my car, which I instructed them 3 times NOT to. I've explained that they didn't do the service I asked them for and still they charged me $25.39 for a service I didn't want. Additionally, they told me that I didn't specify what I wanted done, which was a LIE because I told them what I wanted 3 times when I first got there. Then they said the job I was asking for was a tire swap and wanted to charge me another $45 for the job. Hell no, after you just done a service I told you not to and still charged me for it with no alternative, no refund, no that's wrong. Even I asked for the name of manager and they declined to tell me. Note, neither one of the service men greeted me and never introduced themselves with their names. Of course, this is a SCAM and BAD BUSINESS. The term for this business and workers at this location are THIEVES. Everyone stay away from this place and don't come to this location because they will scam you out of money, time and service. Subsequently I went to Discount Tire and got everything I wanted done for FREE. I highly don't recommend this place and location to anyone. EVERYONE DO NOT COME HERE. And for them to finesse and scam me, karma will have its way. read more

I have had mixed experience with these guys. I went their for my brakes and they did a wonderful job on that. When my A/C compressor broke they fixed it within a day. They quoted a very reasonable price for the parts and labor. Next day, I had to go back to them as my belt started making noise. That was my fault as I drove my car a little bit with the broken compressor. They fixed the belt within a day too but did not replace the tensioner. So I had to go in for a third time. After that visit, everything looks/sounds good. I have a 3 month warranty on their work in case something does not work out well on the A/C, belt, tensioner, etc.. Al (the owner of the shop, I think) seems to be a very honest guy. So, give these guys a try and see if you like them.... read more

The $529 fuel pump they installed in my VW Touareg failed shortly after they installed it. I had it replaced somewhere else (that for the record cost $150 for the part at another mechanic) and when I brought in the broken pump for my money back they said they only warrantee parts if they install another one to replace the broken one. (If they already installed two parts that broke in my car, then why would I trust them again with their low quality parts?) From my experience, they are crooks and dishonorable and not able to do anything reliable beyond changing tires. I also found they installed an air filter upside down which caused engine light to come on. I took to another mechanic to fix and paid $65 to repair Goodyear Interstate Auto's incompetence. Only use these guys for tires. Avoid them for mechanical work if you want to save money and headaches. read more

Zerome and his crew always have parts for my VW in stock, and from what I can see, they treat all of their customers with respect - including busy moms, single women, and older drivers. They do charge $25 for a diagnostic - but in cases of electrical work, that's far less than paying someone by the hour to get at my voltage regulator. And see how I just dropped the phrase "voltage regulator"? That's because these guys aren't afraid to take time, explain what they're doing, and show you the broken or dirty parts being replaced. I have never had a bad experience here. Most recently, I ordered a set of tires, they arrived the next day and even though I arrived close to closing time, they waited for me and finished the job. They also identified that my front brake pads were at 10% (they had been squealing) and finished that job and my tires after the store had closed. I've had my oil changed here on several occasions. I've never found them to recommend/gouge you with maintenance if it isn't needed. I'm not discounting that others may have had different experiences, but I've always received GREAT service and the staff has been nothing short of honest and polite. The absolute worst tire shop I've dealt with. First time, three new tires took over 3 and a half hours. Today I called after having a flat on one of their tires. He said he can get me in and out right away. Over 2 hours for a tire. Run around both times about time. I was looking into a wheel alignment on the car i brought in and new tires on the other car and now i need to find a better shop because my experience was trash. Always been treated well here. I've been to this location three times for tire punctures due to nails on my box truck. They have always helped me right away, treated me with respect, and have even not charged me when they fixed a valve on one of my tires that was leaking. It's the middle of the summer (92 degrees)and my A/C was just done. This business was great. The manager showed up early and took my car immediately. In by 8am out by 9am. Very friendly staff, courteous and professional. All wearing masks to protect you and your loved ones. I've been here before and if your looking for great work at reasonable price look no further. I appreciate that they didn't try to manufacture a new problem they only addressed what was needed which I appreciate since I'm on a budget. We took a truck in for diagnostic testing, found out it was electrical and would cost $2,000 to repair. I opted to tow it back home. Once home I opened hood and to my amazement all components that were tested were not placed back in their proper location, parts left in my passenger seat and missing parts! These guys will never get my business again. I will definitely tell my family and friends not to go there. This is the type of business that gives repair shops a bad name! I went in for an Oil Change. The manager Joey tells me that it would be two hours. He tells me to come back later in the day, they should be able to get me out in an hour. (I know why would I wait and hour?) When I went beck, they now said it would be an hour and half. At the 11/2 hour mark my car was still sitting not worked on. Joey now said not to worry it would 5 or 10 minutes and they would start. If I had stayed it would have been just over 2 hours. So I ask why did I need to go and come to wait longer????? read more

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS PLACE, oh my gosh. THEY ALMOST KILLED ME! I came in to get a tire replacement and after I was finished, I got into my car and proceeded to drive away. After driving for about 2-3 minutes MY BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. I COULD NOT BRAKE. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRASH. ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. I managed to steer through traffic and drove my vehicle back to the facility. The irrational rude store manager claimed that they did nothing wrong, they didn't even touch the breaks.... Here's my story: I had a set of relatively new tires, got a flat in one, ended up finding a nail in it that caused it to go flat (probably from some crappy chicago construction debris on the road). I had pumped it up with a bike pump and used a little bit of fix-a-flat, it was just enough to get me home. The next day I removed the flat wheel and originally took it to Firestone, who said they can fix it for $22+ and it would take a few hours. But, I mentioned the fix-a-flat usage and because of that they said that they would have to put a new tire on. That's ridiculous. The tire was essentially new with a nail in it, so I took it to Morales Tire down the street. At Morales they were able to accommodate me right away. I watched them fix my tire, and no more than 15 minutes later, they had cleaned out the fix-a-flat stuff, patched up my tire and remounted it onto the rim. And the best thing is, it was $5. Morales was a great place to go to and I would go back there again for my tire needs instead of Firestone anyday. read more

I had a really great experience with these guys yesterday 10/9/13 as well as this morning. I went to these guys because they were close to my work and told me they'd have me in and out within 15 mins; I went in with multiple screws in my back, driver- side tire. It took them 15 mins, as they promised it would, to remove the screws and patch my tire. Great price too, only $20, where other places were gonna charge $25-$30. I left a happy customer. This morning, I found another nail in my passenger-side rear tire. I returned to them early this morning around 7:40. I realized when I arrived that they didn't open until 8 am, but recognizing me from yesterday through the window, Al let me in. He started on my car anyways and had me out of there before they even opened! He removed the nail, checked the rest of my tires, adjusted my tire pressure gauge/ sensor, and adjusted all my tires' pressure...free of charge! I know that this was just a tire patch, nothing serious being done, but it was the customer service and reliable work that will keep me coming back. I feel that they are not out to overcharge or take advantage especially since I'm a girl. Good price and great service! read more

One star is too much for this place. The estimate they gave me was incorrect & I ended up paying 25% more than I expected. I had a catalytic converter installed on my car & 5 months later it had to be replaced. Of course the warranty for their work was only for 3 months so I wasted my money trusting them. read more

I made an appointment online for an alignment at my nearest Firestone location. After waiting for five minutes to be helped by the rude man at the front desk, I was told that I needed some sort of diagnostic which would cost $22 because an alignment would not fix my problem. Yesterday, I managed to shred the outside of my tire by driving over some bottles in a recycle bag. Don't ask. I took my car to Goodyear/Interstate to learn the extent of the damage. I needed a new tire. Al was extremely courteous and helpful. Because my car has AWD and the tires must match, a new tire had to be ordered. Not, a problem. It was promised by 10:00 am today. So my car had an overheating issue and I took it in to get repaired. The first transaction with this place was friendly and professional. They are really good at acting like they are a professional business. My car was released to me and I was told it was fixed, after an $800 dollar repair and after Moody told me he had driven the car on the highway and tested it out. After 15 minutes of me driving it, the car broke down with the exact same issue I brought it in the first time. So i took it back in and they told me it would be another $700 dollar repair to fix it. MY CAR WAS THEN RELEASED TO ME AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED. My car broke down yet again after they told me it would be safe to drive from chicago to louisville. This was christmas eve night that I spent 4 hours on the side of the highway waiting for a tow truck. I towed the car back to Kentucky and had a master mechanic. GREG SAYS HE IS A MASTER MECHANIC. I do not believe a word he says. I paid them a total of $1500 to replace the radiator and water pump. They bought a new radiator and installed it but did not replace the BROKEN RADIATOR CAP. It was a $12 dollar part that was the initial cause of the overheating. My mechanic in louisville fixed the car for $20 dollars and I drove it safely back to chicago. This place has incredibly friendly people working there but as a business they are liars and incredibly unprofessional. I would strongly recommend anyone to NOT go to this place after being treated the way that I was. Goodyear is a good chain and i have been to some good stores. It really is sad that places and people like this exist. read more

Not a lot to say aside from: So I was getting some vibration from a rear tire or wheel; 60k mi on the tires that had a 40k mi rating. I also noticed a piece of thick wire or a nail sticking out of one of them, so I took it in, expecting to get it repaired, balanced, and rotated; and try get a little more life out of them. The local tire/mechanic franchise put me through the rounds of trying to figure out who I was, how much I make, and gauge my intelligence, then tried to tell me my rear shocks were shot, even after I said I was due for new tires and wanted to get some. He quoted and printed for me a cost of $1600 before offering any different tire options along with the parts and labor for non-oem rear-shocks, when I already knew the part number for my sort of specific, less expensive, "touring" oem shocks that look exactly the same as the four other tensions. In the end, I, elsewhere, replaced all four tires with the same ones that lasted 60k mi for $400 installed, incl tpms, and I do not need new shocks. Thanks for trying. read more
