poor customer service, especially a female. They come up with these rules as they go. I was told since they had taken my car off the rack it was no way for me to see the work they supposed to have done. They were charging me some ridiculous price but once I said I couldn't afford that price I no longer need the work they originally charged me. There is something shady about this place. if you can help it try another shop. read more

Was looking for a shop to fix my exhaust pipe on my Nissan where I could get in and out. Found these guys and I was able to do exactly that. Came in and the guy Rick told me it would be maybe a 2 hour wait but was there only an hour he pulled me in they checked out what I was talking about which would have actually cost more to repair but once they looked at it they decided I didn't need the repair I was asking for so they saved me time and money . The repair I thought I needed was gonna cost me that day aswell as later because I had a stainless steel pipe which if they had replaced with an aftermarket one would go bad much sooner then the stainless. So these guys hooked me up that day and the repairs that they made cost half of what it was going to cost big up Rick and the guys for being honest , etc . I will definitely be going back . Fast forward a few years later and these guys under the management of George the service is still top notch . There has been numerous occasions where they could have found a reason to try to charge more and run up the bill , but George continues to be completely honest and if you don't need the service they find a way to the repair your vehicle without that extra charge . I went to William on a recommendation from a close friend and the experience has been great so far. I first had him install new headlights, fog lights and a dash kit in my 2008 Dodge Charger R/T. Everything works perfect and the work was clean. My next trip was to have some Blastin' Bob exhaust tips installed and was unsure if I wanted resonators added or not. William went out of his way to install them both with and without and took videos so I could see which sound I wanted. The install looks and sounds amazing. I am going back tomorrow to get new struts put on and expect the same going-out-of-his-way customer service and professional mechanic work. Unlike other mechanics who make you feel stupid for asking questions, he will listen to what you have to say or want done and offer his recommendations based on your requests. If you want a non-commercialized, non-chain local mechanic experience with fair pricing I highly recommend Muffler 4 Less. read more

So this place is awesome for the fact that they are very friendly and extremely reasonably priced (for a brake job, they easily quote me $100 less than my trusted mechanic). They replaced my muffler for so cheap that I thought surely the thing would fall off or something within a month -- but still holding strong almost a year later and no problems (although my husband thinks that it's smaller than the previous muffler-- not my area of expertise). They also have super fast service. On two separate occasions (muffler, then brakes), the work was completed in about half an hour. They also let me buy my own parts (brake pads) at Autozone and bring them in since they said I'd save even more money that way. Thank you! So anyway, I bought my own pads, but then the staff at Mufflers told me that one of the pads were the wrong kind (Autozone grabbed from the wrong shelf). Since my car was already up on the rack, the worker at the front desk told me to use his truck to go to Autozone and get the right pads. How cool is that that this guy trusted me with his nice truck (sittin on nice rims)! So I went and got the pads and the job was done in 15 min. However... I would have given this place 5 stars if not for a small mishap. After getting my brakes done, I noticed on my drive to work that same day that I had a brake warning light on. Coincidence? I think not. After going back the next day to talk to the staff member, Jesus, who did my brakes, he assured me that it was nothing they did. He didn't bother to check it out because he said that the blah blah blah isn't anywhere near the blah blah and therefor they couldn't have been the ones to cause the light to go on (sorry for the lack of details, I obviously don't understand car jargon).... So I went to Autozone to get some guidance and the guy was really helpful there by getting under my car and taking a pic of the problem -- they simply forgot to reconnect a sensor wire, which was causing the ABS light to go on. So I again went back to Mufflers for Less and talked to the same guy, showing him the pic. He said he still couldn't imagine how that would've happened since he never disconnected that sensor, but nontheless he got under my car and snapped it back in. Problem solved. Just wish he would've taken a look and done that the first time I came back! Other than that, this is a great place to go to if you're on a budget and want good, fast service. I will keep going here for my brakes and mufflers... Considering their outstanding prices, I wish they also performed mechanical work! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE...UNLESS YOU WANT TO REPLACE YOUR BALL JOINT!!!! My son found this place,which sounded like a good thing,seeing they worked w parts that we brought in. I had my sway bar bushings on,then my son brought his car. I even had my oil changes done,all sounds good right? BEWARE OF THIS PLACE All of a sudden my car started making same noise. My son come over n looked under the car to make sure it wad safe for me to drive..... Well my balljoint was sliced and all the lubricant was out. Ok maybe a defective piece,by the way it was ripped was definitely intentional(took it to 2 other shops for opinion) DEFINITELY SLICED!!!! Now today my son was going to put bushings or something and liw and behold his BALLJOINT was sliced as well. Sounds too suspicious that both sliced same way!!!! read more

I've brought my car here 3 times for repairs from hitting potholes. The 1st time Rick got me in right away, told me how much it would cost and got me out in an hour. So of course I went back the next two times. I've never felt better about how well I was treated. He tells you exactly what's wrong, how much it's going to cost and when it's going to be ready. Mufflers for less 10137 s. Western Ave. Chicago, IL. This place is full of crooks, I went in for brakes for my 05 ford Taurus front and rear, (drums, shoes, rotors, hardware, bleeding, pads) Upon completion of the work I test drove the vehicle and heard a knocking sound all while driving so the mechanic said he would have to adjust the back brakes, after the adjustment I had no parking brake so I brought that issue to their attention and was told I need a different set of brakes for parking brakes a lie so I asked for the owner and he was unwilling to help and just drove away with his big cowboy hat on, so I never got any parking brakes and the cars pedal was to the floor. 3 days later I took my car to Quick stop and was told my hardware was at least 5 years old and the brakes needed bleeding all 4 wheels upon further inspection the drums were for a different year ford Taurus that's why I heard the knocking noise, after getting the work done at quick stop I now have my cars full braking system working properly. I'm so furious because the bill was hefty and I was lied to and ripped off. No Stars from me, only 1 just to submit the post. read more

consumer beware!! don't get your car fixed here they don't the work. I brought my car here to have a converter put on it and got screwed. I ended having to take it some where else to get the work done properly and was told by the other mechanic that they didn't do any of the work that I paid them for and they even left parts off of the car!!! I ended up paying $2,000.00 more to have the car fixed the right way. read more

These guys have done various work for me on both our family cars. I've never had a problem. They are fast, convenient, do a good job, and are very cheap. The neighborhood garage rat recommended them to me about a year ago and they are my go to guys for everything from an oil change to the car is making a weird sound can you fix it, please.
