our choice for tonight

A friend and I came for an early dinner before a show and arrived at 5 pm becoming their first dinner customers of the night. We were greeted warmly and seated at a quiet table by the window. Water was poured, menus delivered and wine was ordered first. We were delighted with the grilled octopus and roasted butternut squash crostini for appetizers. Next, we shared a Ceasar salad which was large enough for both of us. I ordered the Cortesse pasta which was loaded with vegetables and delicious pesto. My friend had the seared scallops which were perfectly cooked served over creamy mashed potatoes with garlicky spinach and a butter wine sauce. We took our time and decided to skip dessert so we could get to our next destination. We were pleased with the ambiance of the restaurant even as it filled up, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend Capuli.

Just great! 4.5-stars. Capuli is a small gem of a restaurant tucked in inconspicuously off Main Street in Westport. Featuring Mediterranean cuisine, the menu is contemporary, with beautifully prepared and presented appetizers, salads and entrees. Typical dishes are skewers, Greek salad, eggplant, salmon and a good balance of fish, poultry, pasta and steak. Service was delightful, we loved our waitress Gabi who was professional, attentive and pleasant. A couple areas of improvement could be a broader selection of whiskies from the bar, the addition of lamb on the menu, and a nicer offering of (warm) bread at the table, perhaps including olives, hummus, and EVOO. These touches would elevate Capuli to 5-star. All in, very lovely restaurant.

Came in on a Monday evening for dinner with my family and was surprised to see a fairly busy restaurant, which was promising. They've got some unique artwork on the walls and nice Spanish guitar music playing in the background. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and the food was good. Everything was visually appealing. I had the salmon roulade based on suggestion from the waitress. The highlight of the dish was the sauce which was rich, tangy and slightly sweet. The salmon was cooked well. I have to say, I enjoyed dessert most of all. The chocolate mousse was rich and not too sweet. It was less fluffy than other mousses I've tried so it felt like a substantial dessert.

Lovely artwork, for sale too

Excellent salmon roulade and tagliatelle al sugo. Kids had a nice mac n cheese and pasta. Friendly service and clean interior. Relaxed. What they do, they do very well. Hidden gem in downtown Westport. Update!!! Brought the same crew back here a few weeks later....same awesome experience. Excellent Firestone cab. Salmon roulade very tasty. Wife's eggplant polenta was great. Kids loved the mac n cheese. Again friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere (cool music). Will be back soon.

Capuli is a California-Mediterranean fusion restaurant conveniently located at 143 Post Road in downtown Westport. Capuli has 2 menus. One for lunch and one for dinner. Both offer a vibrant variety of Mediterranean classics, as well as an assortment of amazing, healthy, fresh flavorful dishes not commonly found in our community. Chef-owner Armando and his wife Andrea proud themselves on freshness and meticulous detail with their food while maintaining a fun, family friendly atmosphere. The food is presented like a work of art in state-of-art. The plating and flavors will make your 5 senses explode with excitement. It is hard to pinpoint my absolute favorite dishes because they were all so delicious. Definitely try the roasted chicken with sage and champagne butter over polenta cake. If meat is more your style, then you must have the delicious slow cooked pot roast over veggies and mashed potatoes. There is also excellent appetizers and other entrée options such as Salmon Roulade, NY Strip, Eggplant Polenta, and many others. (See pics to help fuel your appetite) Capuli is a fresh and unique "must-have" bright spot in the community. They are currently open for dine-in, takeout, and delivery via Grubhub and Uber eats. This foodie wishes Andrea and Chef Armando the best of luck and continued success. Definitely check this place out! You will not regret it! Also be sure to check out their daily specials. Last night I had a sausage tagliatelle that was divine!

What an Amazing find. We decided to venture out of Greenwich and try something new in Westport. While we were In our driveway a neighbor strikes a conversation and tells us about a place her friend just went to in Westport and we must try it. Well that place was closed and I am so glad. I turned to Yelp for help and based on several reviews and pictures I chose Capuli. What a beautiful restaurant, the husband and wife team sure know what they are doing. The sun was shining and we decided to sit outside. We ordered Bay Clam chowder 10/10 outstanding! I could have eaten a bucket of it. OMG so good!!! The grilled octopus and baby potatoes were delicious so were the Chimichurri Steak Skewers. My husband ordered the Greek bowl with flank steak and I had the grilled flank steak sandwich both were 10/10 While we were eating I was basically promoting the restaurant to those walking by telling them how good it is, and two couples came in. I will definitely return here as often as I am able to. I wish this restaurant much success!

Cajun Shrimp Pene Pasta

Idk how I lived down the street & didn't know this place existed! I am only judging based on 2 takeout orders, but upon recommendation of fellow yelpers & my brother, I chose to give this place a shot & am SO glad I did. I absolutely Love their Cajun shrimp pene pasta. I ordered it both times, with no regrets! The garlic toast that comes with it is also very tasty. Now, the caesar salad unfortunately, was a little too 'anchovy forward' for me. I am aware that you use anchovy paste or actual anchovies in making the dressing, but I am really picky about how 'fishy' my dressing is & this was too much so, for me, personally. Other than that, the chicken was good & lettuce was fresh. Both dishes were prepared/presented very well. There are a bunch of things i'd like to try here. 4.5 stars! Yumm

We Absolutly loved this Israeli Restaurant with authentic food. Staff was terrific, friendly and…read moreattentive. The restaurant is adorable, with a nice outside terrace. The portions are quite generous. Now for the food. We started with Moroccan Cigars; Merguez wrapped in phyllo, very yummy. I had the Eggs Sophie; crispy potato latkes, smoked salmon, top with sunny side eggs and a small salad. The Avocado Toast with sunny side eggs, feta cheese on a multigrain toast was delicious. Shakshuka ( regular or spicy) careful with the spicy, eggs, peppers, feta, cilantro with stewed tomatoes was equally delicious. The Schnitzel and waffles delicious, copious serving. No room for desert. They have a full bar. There a children's menu. Definitely will go back.

STAY AWAY: An Insult to Israeli Cuisine and Common Sense…read moreRating: 0/5 Stars As an Executive Chef and an Israeli citizen, I am rarely speechless, but "Blondit" managed to achieve a level of stupidity beyond comprehension. Let's start with the name. In Hebrew, blondinit is often used as a derogatory shorthand for a shallow, vacuous, or "clueless" woman. It is incredibly fitting that the owners chose this name, as it perfectly reflects the restaurant's operational philosophy: total, unadulterated ignorance. The entire experience was an exercise in deception. This isn't just a bad kitchen; it's a "fake" restaurant. They have no understanding of the ingredients they are handling or the culture they claim to represent. The menu is a work of fiction. What you order is never what arrives because the kitchen staff clearly doesn't know what they are making or selling. The "Food": A Culinary Disaster * The "Cigars": The menu promised delicate Moroccan cigars in crisp phyllo dough. What arrived were heavy, leaden, grease-soaked eggrolls. * The Lamb Burger: This was a masterclass in how not to cook. The meat was over-processed to the point of having the texture of "guppy poop" and was salted so heavily it was borderline toxic. * The Halloumi Fiasco: They topped the burger with Halloumi--a squeaky, salty cheese that does not melt. Placing a cold, rubbery slab of salt on top of an already oversalted, mushy patty shows a fundamental lack of basic culinary knowledge. The Environment: A Health Hazard If the food wasn't insulting enough, the atmosphere was stomach-turning. While I was attempting to navigate the inedible mess on my plate, there were kids vomiting in the dining area. Multiple children were getting sick, and the staff acted as if it were a routine occurrence. No one cared, no one rushed to clean it properly, and no one seemed concerned about the obvious health risks. I should have taken the vomiting children as a warning sign. I left the restaurant feeling ill and ended up getting violently sick from the few bites I actually managed to swallow. This place is an embarrassment to Israeli hospitality. It is fake food run by people with zero understanding of cooking. Save your money, save your stomach, and stay far away from this disaster. I will never return.

We found parking right in front as we walked in we were immediately greeted. Since this was our first time, we'd asked for recommendations and Marcelo, the cashier gave us some suggestions. We ordered some chicken/lamb shawarma's and chickpeas falafel. Marcelo was super helpful as we didn't expect this but he was bringing customers meals to their table. He was attentive, friendly and even asked how was meal. We were super impressed with the food, the staff, ambiance, cleanliness and parking. Back to the food, OMG so delicious!!! Wrap sizes were a nice healthy portion and the falafels with hummus were amazingly tasty. We're 1000% coming back for more. Hey this might be one of our regular eateries here in CT. Oh by the way, they were nice to offer us a pita with hummus on the way; that also was total yum. Thanks for making such clean good food. We 1000% recommend Laylas. Will/Nikki Norwalk, CT

This place is one of the smaller ones, but offers the same menu as their main location in Stamford where I first discovered them Their Babagounoush and Hummus is one of the best I have tried and introduced several folks to them My main go to dish is the lamb Shawarma which is very juicy, though the kibbe is not too far behind. As seating's are not that abundant, I usually do pick up orders there. Do try them if you are in the area.
