In no rush on this beautiful morning, so I figured I'd order the biggest plate I could've ordered and just soak the vibe in, appropriately called The Feast with a glass of apple juice. So they came in with the wrong order, so what? At least they quickly got it fixed and brought out my real order, no need to throw a fit this early in the morning. Anyhow, as for the meal itself, they're not trying to reinvent the wheel and that is perfectly fine, really just came for the vibes. The meal was satisfyingly traditional overall. Is it worth going back to though? Unfortunately no, because there are better sit down breakfast spots on the island, wasn't really worth the distance, in my opinion. Some minor complaints are that coffee drinks weren't refilled and syrup cost extra by like ¢.75, but they're really minor, nothing to really fuss about, personally though I liked it but it was worth it for the one time for the vibe alone. I would recommend only if you're close to the place.

All the tables and chairs are high, so if you're short you may need to hop up.

People do not go to Captree deli the older woman with sour look on her face wearing clothes meant for a thin 18 yr old is a sloppy saggy mess with A dirty mouth. Id advise you don't get food from someone/place that has no respect for you or the food you have to put in YOUR mouth. Lets all band together to get this woman trashed out just like her mouth and food. I brought the food back because it was burnt and thrown together with carelessness and when I asked her for my money back she said that the sandwich was fine. Meanwhile the sandwich was missing the lettuce, the tomatoes were falling out some were squished, the meat was burnt and the bread was Burnt, also crumbling pieces that turned into soggy bits of crap. The paper that wrapped it was wet and re wrapped in a sec sheet folded up like a paper bag not like a sandwich. It was sloppy. would you guys eat it? No I don't think so. so do me a favor folks instead of getting reamed out by a nasty New York deli WORKER/owner, whatever, who lacks proper customer service and food handling skills let's not go to Captree deli west islip and waste nine dollars on a sandwich that isn't even edible with an eye sore and nasty attitude behind the counter. read more

On Father's Day, I ordered three egg sandwiches around 10:00 a.m. I arrived at 10:30 to pick them up and still waited another 15 minutes. After spending about $35, the order was wrong. Again, I let it go. Today was the final straw. I ordered two egg sandwiches and a small deli iced tea for delivery. The total was $33 before tip. The owner, John, delivered the order himself. He rang my Ring doorbell twice but never knocked. We completed the exchange without issue. When I opened the bag, the order was wrong--again. I called and politely asked to speak with the owner. I explained that my order had been made incorrectly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, John hung up on me. I called back three more times, and each time either he or his staff hung up on me. I drove to the deli to speak with him face-to-face. His response was simply, "That's unfortunate," and he refused to remake the sandwiches or offer any refund or solution. Everyone makes mistakes. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. I wasn't angry about an incorrect sandwich--I was shocked by the complete lack of customer service, accountability, and basic respect. After years of overlooking mistakes and trying to support a local business, this experience has guaranteed I will never return. There are plenty of delis that appreciate their customers and stand behind their service. Unfortunately, Maple St. Deli isn't one of them.
