Now Captain Do's know they play too much with kid portion plate I received. While I was here for school, Captain D's was one of my go to places. Things have changed over the years naturally but whenever I come in town, I make it a point to stop through. So of course when I saw that this location was close to hotel, I was excited because the original one I somewhat across town. If I recall some years ago, they had more corn meal fried fish options that came with bread (so good). My meal didn't come with bread. I got the 2 piece catfish option and my son got the fish tenders. As you can see from the picture, the 2 piece catfish option is a cat fish fillet cut in half. My son fish "tenders" was bigger than mine. Yet on their menu it shows two full fish fillets of catfish. The taste was good and the young lady that took my order was nice and patient and is solely the reason for this 3 star review. read more

Haven't eaten Captain D's for over 3 years. Decided to give them a try. Mask were required to enter the establishment and social distancing was implemented. Drive thru was busy, but I went inside to order. No cashier was present upon me entering, but a young male cook acknowledged my presence and stated someone will be with me shortly. The cashier had good customer skills, but was very nonchalant. The food was hot, but a little hard. The fried green tomatoes were not cooked all the way. Overall everything was alright. read more

Husband went in to place order for two 2 piece dinners on a Sunday when we usually got the senior special price. He was denied his order. Cashier said I had to be there as well. I was home because I had knee surgery and could not go in person. The cashier discussed this with the manager who still refused to honor the order. My husband walked out and now refuses to ever go back. Definitely not the customer service needed to keep faithful customers. I later called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. This place was craptastically bad. The fish is not cod. I don't know what it is but it was strange. The wife (Kimberly) thinks it's Chinese Catfish (Basa) but who knows? It was fishy, dry, weird texture...just a hot mess. Kimberly ordered the "Jalepeno poppers" which were also an abject failure. They are fake cheddar cheese balls with chopped peppers, deep fried. Do not trust their commercial photos, all lied. We came here after we saw their commercial photos. Lobster Rolls: there are not much lobster in the rolls (not like their commercial photo). I was surprised to find this rolls bread tasted very similar to the "nutritional sandwich" in Taiwan Night Market. To me, that was a plus to compensate these rolls. read more

I ordered the grilled white fish and shrimp and it was not good. The food was cold and I only drove 5 mins to my hotel. I asked for my fish blackened and it wasn't blackened barely had taste. The customer service was perfect!!! The green beans and the sides were delicious! I might try them again the fried fish because that might be their specialty. read more

Good food, friendly service but the shift manager at night is running a scan in their drive thru times. Nobody in line, they pulled us up to clear the timer while we waited an EXCEEDINGLY long time for our food. 10 minutes after we were pulled up, a 2nd car came in and they pulled them around to an empty parking spot. This is my second visit,I was expecting it to be better than my first, NOT!!!! Your front counter people need some classes in hospitality.just rude. Probably my favorite restaurant in town. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, without being fake like some chains I've been to. There are plenty of sauces to make the plethora of entrees (fish tenders, butterfly shrimp, lobster bites- all great) and sides (broccoli, okra, cole slaw, Mac and cheese are my favorite) as delicious as you can imagine. Most meals come with hush puppies, so you don't even have to pay for the best part. The atmosphere is great. Nice music and paintings on the wall to look at as you crunch your ice (cool feature). I've been there twice in the past week, once with my best friends and once with my parents. Each time, my party was fully impressed with how much I talked this place up. The customer service is awful!! Literally the worst I've seen in town... I went through the drive through, waited forever, while there was no one dining in... finally someone responds, then as we say our order he isn't even replying, as if I'm talking to myself. Then somehow even with the coupons we had, the total came up to so much higher than it should have been, and to top that the employee tells us that he can't print us a receipt cause the device is not working?? So you're just charging me for things without ta receipt... how convenient. That was my first and last time purchasing from Captain D's. No lights on the drive thru menu? I told the girl I could barely read anything on the menu. I appreciate her reading off the sides to me. Maybe the lights turn on after a certain time but they definitely weren't on at 7:30 pm. Also, the drive thru, like another guy said, is a complete joke. It's truly laughable. I pulled up at about 7:25 and was asked to wait before ordering, which is fine. Waited 5 minutes and almost just pulled forward to the window to place my order. Honestly, I thought the girl forgot I was there. Right as I put my car in drive, she came back. I placed my order and had 3 cars in front of me. That was about 7:32ish. I'm still sitting in line. I made it to the window at 7:56. I feel bad for the cashier because she's doing the inside orders as well as the drive thru and she's very polite. 5 star review for her politeness. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and hope it's just one of those days where maybe this captain d's is understaffed because of employees calling in or maybe it's just a rush I'm not aware of. I will say, though, when I pulled into the drive thru, there were only two cars actually parked. I just finished eating at this Captain D's restaurant call and had the best fish meal I've had in weeks. Call fish and fries we're delicious hush puppies core the best I've ever eaten. Despite their lack of employees I guarantee the few there will give you a headache. Whether it's yelling through the drive through microphone or when you're just a few feet away. Not to mention the incredibly judgmental looks they give on what you order and a need to repeat it in a questioning manner multiple times. I did not enjoy my tilapia meal, which I ordered at the drive thru. The fish came on top of rice and included two other sides, but they didn't explain that the meal would include rice by default. I went through the drive thru this evening, spent $18 on two meals. One was supposed to be grilled and the fish was so white and cold, it looked like it had been boiled, certainly not grilled. The shrimp skewer was cold and tough. I ordered the "loaded" baked potato as a side and got absolutely nothing to put on the potato, not even butter and sour cream. The potato itself was so old that it had an orange hue to it, yuck. When I called I got two different people who claimed to be managers but I seriously doubt it by the way the spoke, and if they are... they need some training in customer service. When describing the potato I was told you have to ask for butter and sour cream, where on earth does a loaded potato mean that you have to ask for butter and sour cream. I explained that it was listed on the receipt, was told they have to do that to get it through the system, you still have to ask. This is one place I will never go again and I certain caution anyone who thinks about stopping there. read more
