A little "hole in the wall" seafood joint. The food is good and the service was polite, and prices…read morewere reasonable given that it's seafood (which isn't cheap to get fresh in Kentucky). I had the fried shrimp, and they clearly were NOT just frozen shrimp they'd bought somewhere and fried, these seemed homemade. . .definitely NOT typical mass-production shrimp. The food was pretty good. There's two things I would list as downsides, however. The first is that the wait for service was pretty long. It was quite a long wait from when I ordered until I got my food. That's a minor downside, given the quality. I got the picture they might not have a robust back-of-house staff. The second, and bigger downside is. . .I didn't go there expecting a seafood place! The well-worn sign out front still says "Deez Butts" BBQ, and I'd followed signs from the freeway exit thinking I was going to a barbecue joint. When I stepped inside, I pieced together as I was standing in line that the BBQ had closed and this was now a seafood place. It was good food, but I was expecting barbecue and was too hungry to bother hunting for another place to eat. I was left wondering if they couldn't afford to change the (well worn) sign out front. It just seemed a little odd that the sign out front is for a barbecue joint, but it's a seafood place inside.

It was so dang delicious that I can't wait for the next tournament to go back!! We had the crawfish dip, crab leg boil and shrimp boil. It was all so good but lemme tell you about these crab legs!!!! Insanely good! Better than the ones we get in Florida!! They were so well seasoned. The Royal Reds & fried shrimp were delicious. The sausage was perfectly cooked!! Those potatoes cut like butter. The crawfish dip was plentiful with crawfish tails!! Not a single complaint!! Prices are good. Bathrooms clean. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

First and foremost. If I could give my server, Brent, ten stars, I would. He has been the best…read moreserver I have ever had. Brent was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about the place. In the time we ate lunch, he probably came to the table 15 times to make sure everything was perfect. Second the atmosphere. The decor was great and the classic rock music was perfect. I absolutely loved the old bottles of whiskey stored in the walls. Last the food. What can I saw but heaven in your mouth. I had a Ribeye Sandwich with Fries and a Mountain Dew. Also I ordered Onion Rings and Fried Pickles. They have this special made Ranch Dressing that I bought a cup of by itself. In short, I HIGHLY recommend BJ's Steakhouse.

BJ's Steakhouse has been a local establishment for decades in Bardstown. The locals love and and it…read moreis ALWAYS busy. It is located at the entrance to the Cottage Grove neighborhood, where I live. I would describe it as your typical local establishment that probably gets their food from SYSCO or GFS. The menu is wide, but not deep. Its standard fare food that is good but nothing special. We typically order carry-out as it is easy to go around the corner and get it. I've had several menu items and they are all good, just nothing outstanding. The burgers, ribeye sandwich, and chef salad are pretty good. If you get a salad get the ranch dressing. They make their own. It's a mint green color but don't let that deter you. It's some of the best ranch dressing I've had. Don't pass on this. The steak is about Texas Roadhouse quality or just a notch under, but it is priced accordingly. It's not really seasoned in any way like TRH, which is what drops it a notch. The cod fish sandwich is good and flavorful with a thick cut piece of cod. But its only big enough to take up half of the sandwich. (See picture). It really needs two pieces of fish, or to switch to an oblong bun. I'm a big Hot Brown fan and have had them from many places. The one here is alright. The "special cheese sauce", as it is called on the menu, is ok, but it's not the creamy mornay sauce I see on most Hot Browns. I still order it from time to time if I'm in the mood for a hot brown when we are ordering from there. It's like everything else on the menu - not bad, but not great either. Order accuracy on carry-out orders can be inconsistent. For example, with the fish sandwich I recently ordered I specifically said without lettuce and tomato but said to make sure to include the tartar sauce. I ended up getting lettuce and tomato and no tarter. It's not the first time this kind of thing has happened on our carry-out orders. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and inviting. The decor is nice but starting to show its age. The exterior was just cleaned up and refreshed. When we have eaten there we've had varying qualities of service depending on who the server is, but overall I'd say it is good. If you go there with the right expectation that nothing is really going to "wow" you, but that you'll get a decent meal at a fair price, you'll be quite happy with it.

We visited here for our 21st Wedding Anniversary!…read more Great ambience and plenty of room in the different areas. Drink/wine selection is top notch- we went with the Pinot Noir. Started with the crab dip- great flavor and texture, fresh scallions and shaved cheese which helped build up the crab flavor- even got extra bread for the dip since it was a good sized portion, Baby green salad- fresh, crisp lettuces, cucumbers and tomatoes in a vinaigrette Bacon wrapped pork loin was flavorful and tender on the inside while the bacon was crispy and cooked to perfection. The highlight was the squash - almost like a veggie lasagna. Char grilled cab ribeye- cookedto perfection (medium rare) with potatoes. Balsamic fingerling potatoes- while they had agreat taste and texture- little too sweet. Finished with a key lime pie- heaven in a pie crust- great key lime flavors, meringue was to perfection!

Food: Cornbread- unexpected. This was the free bread corse for the table but it was not expected. This didn't come out until after we ordered our meal. If we had known, we wouldn't have ordered such big meals. Crab & Artichoke dip- Delicious! The dig was luscious and came out piping hot! Definitely burnt my mouth because I was impatient Hawaiian Fish- Big portions! It is true when they say that everything is bigger in the south! The fish was light and free of the fishy scent. The rice was a bit mushy from the cook and the addition of sauce. Angus Filet Mignon- standard. The filet was cooked nicely and the lobster compound butter was a nice touch. On to my next adventure...
