I had an unposted review with only a one star rating. I swore I was never coming back. Mom got a gift card so I figured what the heck and of course we came on Mother's Day the worst day to go out to eat. We had to wait over an hour but the food and service was excellent. The staff was super friendly from the time we walked in until we left. We arrived right at 5pm and were sat immediately. Our waitress was prompt and took our drink and appetizer order. We got our food in the right amount of time. The waitress asked if I was a rewards member and she helped me with the kiosk and rewards members were getting 20% off tonight! I thought that was nice for her to mention since she didn't have to tell us. I would have to say post-Covid this is only the second restaurant I've been to that seemed to be fully staffed and had no kitchen issues. I hope this restaurant stays this well operated. I think the Red Lobster in Etown is a great one. I have always had great food and great service. I went yesterday with my sister for lunch. We were really impressed! Portion sizes were huge and our server was terrific! First off, their biscuits are amazing! We stuffed ourselves on them. I got a bowl of clay chowder and it was so yummy. My sister tried it and fell in love. She said she is hooked now. I ordered the Pick 2 meal and got shrimp scampi and class with mashed potatoes and green beans. The portions were HUGE! I definitely got plenty of food for my money. The scampi was excellent and cooked perfectly, as were the clams. Mashed potatoes and green beans were both very good (I'm picky about green beans). My sister ordered the shrimp trio with green beans and brussel sprouts. Her portions were huge too. She said her food was excellent. We both had to get to-go boxes. Our server was perfect. I took my family out to eat. The wait was 45-50 minutes, gave our name and number, then sat down in the closest seat to the hostess. After over an hour, and several people being sat before us, ranging from smaller to larger parties than we were, we decided to leave. I let the hostess and manager (who happened to be standing right there) know that we were leaving. I was asked my name and party size, I answered and was told that I had been texted over 30 minutes earlier. Came here for my dad's birthday celebration. There was 6 of us total in our party. Our server Cassie, was nice and on point with refills and service. However, I wasn't impressed with my food. I did the 3 course meal with a garden salad and the new Hawaiian shrimp entree and the brownie dessert. My salad was decent but had some welting and browning, the Hawaiian shrimp is where it went down hill. But who give a bowl of rice dish with a side of rice!?!? I didn't ask for rice with my rice, nor did I that it came with rice or I had a choice of choosing a side. My dessert was good but the brownie looked a bit old as well. For a chain restaurant this location is one of the better ones in our area, much better than the locations in Louisville for sure. The staff take excellent care of you and the food here is always properly and freshly prepared. The food seems to be of fresher quality as well. I am not a fan of chain restaurants and rarely will go to one; however, I am always willing to go here. I am a huge fan of their Bairdi Crab during Crabfest and their endless shrimp is always a stellar choice. The fIve star rating is in comparison to other Red Lobster's this is not a gourmet restaurant but it is outstanding for what it is, an excellent location of a major US chain. At least you know what you won't get, great food. It's Red Lobster, never great and most of the time it's not bad, perfectly average. We've been there a few times over the years and it's always the same. At this point, we probably dine here once a year or if out of town guest request to come here, as they did tonight. Usually the food is 3 stars but tonight, definitely 2 stars. We started out with a crab dip, that had shredded crab and shrimp, maybe it was a crab and shrimp dip. When it's shredded instead of chunks of crab meat, it's hard to tell the difference from imitation crab and real crab. Funny, but when the server brought it out she announced "stuff mushrooms", and was puzzled when we said we ordered a dip. She responded with, "oh it looks like mushrooms". Yeah it does look similar with the gooey cheese and shredded crab covering both dishes, but there were chips on the platter which should have tipped her off that it was a dip. Just found that funny. We also got the steamed oysters. Never had oysters here, steamed or otherwise. So I was surprised (surprised they would be okay serving this dish the way it came out) and very disappointed when they came to the table with incredibly small shriveled oysters. If they know that steaming them will result in incredibly small oysters they should not offer that as an option or get larger oysters. The Caesar salads were devoid of any flavor, very little dressing, which I guess made it healthier, and I probably should be eating healthier. The rest of the meal was extremely average with some low points on the crab and lobster which were over cooked resulting in mealy crab and rubbery lobster. Even though the meal was below average tonight, the staff and service is always great. They are very friendly, talkative, and attentive. Next, I asked for corn to be switched to broccoli the kitchen staff told the waitress that I couldn't substitute, but they'd throw the broccoli in for free and leave the corn on the plate...???? This isn't my first time to this RL but they definitely deserve some kudos. Not giving them 5 stars only because I consider that for more than expected experiences. Sorry no pics on food this time around just know anytime you're buying seafood don't expect bargain pricing. Our bill for 2 (after military discount) and our usual tipping of 20+% was just short of $100.00 for 2 non-alcoholic bevs, 1 appetizer and two entrees with an extra side item as well as two side items that were upgraded. What this location gets the kudos on is timing and service! We arrived just about 630pm on a Friday night. The lobby was filled with at least 20 people waiting and when we signed in was told wait was at least 30 min. If they had said an hour we probably would've gone elsewhere. My main purpose for going to RL this time is due to keeping my effort to remain diligent with my Lenten meals ;) on top of the fact that I'm abstaining from breads, rice and pasta till Easter(lol)! Needless to say, choices can be a challenge but we had good options. The hardest was resisting the fresh made cheddar biscuits they are so well known for as I probably should've taken the pic of that one to show you how tempting they can be! Our wait was just short of 30 min and about 10 empty tables were seated in a span of about 15 minutes. The lobby continuously had about 15-20 people waiting even while we were seated. I think our longest wait on anything was for our server to bring us our check. Other than that we probably had an average of 5-8 min span between sitting and ordering. Our food came out fresh and hot in what seemed only 15 min. We were probably in and out within 75 minutes tops! Considering the factors and what originally seemed like they may had been short-staffed, they pulled it off. Even upon our departure, staff was courteous and professional. If every experience at RL is like this, I'd be willing to pay the slightly "pretty penny" on a regular basis and tell others. Great job Etown RL, keep it up! :) read more

The only time we come here is for all you can eat shrimp. They have good shrimp and there are lots of options. The rolls are good. The staff is nice and the place is clean it can be pricey but that's what you expect for seafood. It's okay for chain seafood. And it's a good deal when it's on sale. read more
