Food was good but nothing too wow. Service per usual is just taking your order, dropping off food and water, all while having to flag them down to ask for something. SIDE NOTE-to anyone going there 5 or more party, it's automatic 15% gratuity. JUST KNOW when someone orders to-go while dining, that to-go amount will be added to your dine in bill, of course meaning the gratuity tip will be higher on your final bill due to that to-go order added. They will not make any changes for you there if you try to apply logic. Guess you have to pretend to walk in the door to order or call in while you're sitting down to place the order to-go to avoid it being part of the total bill. Hopefully they change that system because why would you charge to-go orders as part of the dine-in to rack up the gratuity tip for an under par service!? When I questioned the server how does it make sense and she said yes we can cancel the order and call it in rather than just taking the initiative to separate the orders. Make it make sense or maybe I'm just over reacting but it does seem like a way to get more money out of folks. Receipt name said nana and she had a bit of an attitude. I know she already got her tip automatically but at least display some customer service hospitality along the way. First time trying it and likely will be sticking to crab city or boiling crab instead when I crave seafood boil. read more

This place was seriously impressive--honestly better than Boiling Crab and more affordable too. The seasoning was on point and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The only downside is that sides like potatoes and corn cost extra beyond the single portion included, and the potato itself was a bit small. That said, it was still absolutely worth it. The hush puppies were a standout, and the ranch? So good. I also tried the onion rings, which didn't disappoint. Next time, I'm definitely going for the clam chowder and fried pickles. Service was excellent--we were seated right away with no wait, which is always a plus. The decor added to the experience too, with crab nets hanging from the ceiling giving it a fun, coastal vibe. Captain Crab on Elk Grove-Florin, celebrated their 4th Year Anniversary by offering their famous low-country boil for $24.99. I grabbed a couple to-go, one flavored with the captain's choice and the other with the Cajun garlic butter. Both were very good, but the captain's choice had more flavor because it was a combination of all the sauces. Each boil had a snow crab claw ( with four legs), approximately 10 shrimps, plenty of sausage, a potato, and a hard boiled egg. The flavors were rich in garlic and Cajun flavor, and the egg and potato was perfect in balancing spiciness of the sausage and sauce. Though purchasing to-go is a great option, I would prefer to dine in, in their large dining room, set up nicely for parties of all sizes. read more

Big spot with plenty of space, and the staff was on top of it. We came early for dinner and got seated right away. Got half a pound of headless shrimp and crawfish, plus added the corn, potato, and egg trio, and threw in some sausage too. Shrimp was kinda small and not the freshest, and my boyfriend said the crawfish shells were tougher to peel than usual. That said, the Captain Mix (mild) flavor was solid, but you gotta dig to the bottom of the bag to get all the seasoning. Otherwise, it's just butter floating on top. We also tried the fried oyster + calamari combo with cajun fries. Everything came out crispy and hot, but the flavor was missing. Even the fries were bland. Ended up dipping everything in the seafood sauce for more flavor. Honestly, I prefer one of their competitors more, but I'm still glad we gave this place a shot. read more

Staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, caring, patient, and very helpful! The young gentleman tonight serving us was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and we didn't feel rushed or anything. He was very attentive and friendly. I appreciate him very much! The entire staff seems to work very hard as the space was very clean, organized, and well maintained. The meal was good, but after eating I made the mistake of going to the bathroom. It was the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen in my life in a dining establishment. It is so disrespectful of customers that it made me wonder what was happening in places I couldnt see: the kitchen. I can never go back to this location. Disgusting. ETA owner tried to gaslight me saying my concern was dust on the side of the bowl. I never said that. Now you are requiring me to get specific. There was black grime all over the bathroom especially in the stalls. There was old fecal matter in and around the toilet. The bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly in a very long time. The restaurant is pretty clean and spacious, lots of open seatings. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeting my a hostess and seated right away. We were greeted my our waiter who was friendly and attentive to our needs. Menu was a wide variety of seafood boil options, appetizers and drinks. We ordered the calamari and 12 piece raw oysters. Calamari had right amount of crunch to it and enough flavors. Can't ever go wrong with oysters! We had the family special deal which we pick the 1 lb dungeness crab legs, shrimp head on and green mussels with medium spice option. Our friends had the captain feast boil, which includes 2 lobster tails, 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb dungeness crab, 1/2 lb headless shrimp, 1/2 lb sausages, 2 eggs, 2 corn, and 2 potatoes woth spicey flavor option. The sauce was a blend of cajun spices that is rich and buttery garlic blends, with a citrus taste. I enjoyed the sauce. My friend told me the spice level was not spicy for the most spicy option but wasn't surprised. Overall, the experience was great. Friendly staff and quick service. The reason for 3 stars only was because I was served bad raw oyster. But I did let the waiter know and he took it back. But also the corn was bad as well. I genuinely enjoy this place! I'm not sure why it has low ratings, because the seafood is consistently good and the prices are hard to beat. My family and I even come here on holidays, and it's always been a great experience. This was my first time at their lunch time specials. Service was great. Food was timely. The food was hot. HOWEVER, what they call catfish can't be catfish. I can't explain what it tasted like, but it wasn't catfish that I'm used to. The Cajun fries were hot, but they were cooked too hard. I ordered some lemon pepper wings and Cajun fries to go. These fries look harder than the ones that were with the catfish. I wonder if the regular fries are better. A lesson, thoroughly check your food before leaving the restaurant. Don't wait until you get home. These wings look burnt. I get it that this is only $11 plus tax during the lunch special, but dang. So disappointing. I guess I should get the shrimp and rice the next time I try something because the neighboring table seemed to enjoy that combination very much. We order 2 lbs of shrimp, fried shrimp and a chicken tender basket. One shrimp bag was lemon pepper and the other was Cajun, both cooked perfectly, no mushiness like other locations. The lemon pepper was great, but the Cajun was different from others. It had a different type of taste, I can't pin point the exact spice. Next time I'll just do lemon pepper. He listened and the food was delicious and it was a great deal after finishing eating. I decided I need to go to the restroom. I literally almost vomited because the restrooms were so disgusting! This is not just toilet paper on the floor. This is not just dirty mirrors. This is months and months of not being sanitized properly cleaning around the toilet bowls cleaning the doors. Stopped by Captain Crab with my little family since our birthday boy wanted crab for dinner. We ordered the Dungeness crab, crab cakes, clam chowder, chicken tenders, garlic noodles, & half an order of raw oysters. Everything was so delicious & well seasoned. Service was amazing, and the kiddos enjoyed every bite of their dinner. To top it off, the waiter brought out a slice of sprinkled cheesecake and sang to our 9year old. Captain crab is so delicious. I come to this location often since it is the closest one to where I live. I like the Cajun sauce here in comparison to other Cajun spots in the area. The shrimp is delicious and each boil comes with a potato and corn. I complete my seafood with some garlic noodles, sausage, and steamed rice. They have a variety of appetizers to choose from. The restaurant is clean and it's a great spot to watch sports - there are a lot of TVs. This is also located in a plaza with plenty of parking. read more
