This place was seriously impressive--honestly better than Boiling Crab and more affordable too. The seasoning was on point and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The only downside is that sides like potatoes and corn cost extra beyond the single portion included, and the potato itself was a bit small. That said, it was still absolutely worth it. The hush puppies were a standout, and the ranch? So good. I also tried the onion rings, which didn't disappoint. Next time, I'm definitely going for the clam chowder and fried pickles. Service was excellent--we were seated right away with no wait, which is always a plus. The decor added to the experience too, with crab nets hanging from the ceiling giving it a fun, coastal vibe. I'll definitely be coming back every time I'm in Sacramento.

    Two low country boils

Captain Crab on Elk Grove-Florin, celebrated their 4th Year Anniversary by offering their famous low-country boil for $24.99. I grabbed a couple to-go, one flavored with the captain's choice and the other with the Cajun garlic butter. Both were very good, but the captain's choice had more flavor because it was a combination of all the sauces. Each boil had a snow crab claw ( with four legs), approximately 10 shrimps, plenty of sausage, a potato, and a hard boiled egg. The flavors were rich in garlic and Cajun flavor, and the egg and potato was perfect in balancing spiciness of the sausage and sauce. Though purchasing to-go is a great option, I would prefer to dine in, in their large dining room, set up nicely for parties of all sizes.

This is our go to family seafood place. We can all share a boil that's affordable with none of that fancy pretense, just eat and enjoy. It's cooked perfectly and full of flavor with something for everyone. The kids even love it.

Big spot with plenty of space, and the staff was on top of it. We came early for dinner and got seated right away. Got half a pound of headless shrimp and crawfish, plus added the corn, potato, and egg trio, and threw in some sausage too. Shrimp was kinda small and not the freshest, and my boyfriend said the crawfish shells were tougher to peel than usual. That said, the Captain Mix (mild) flavor was solid, but you gotta dig to the bottom of the bag to get all the seasoning. Otherwise, it's just butter floating on top. We also tried the fried oyster + calamari combo with cajun fries. Everything came out crispy and hot, but the flavor was missing. Even the fries were bland. Ended up dipping everything in the seafood sauce for more flavor. Honestly, I prefer one of their competitors more, but I'm still glad we gave this place a shot.

Food was really good. Hit the spot today. Got volcano spice level. Not spicy at all. 1lb of crawfish and 1lb clams. Flavor was really good. Service was good as well. The reason for 3 stars only was because I was served bad raw oyster. But I did let the waiter know and he took it back. But also the corn was bad as well. So I dont know if they location save old food or not. But I almost got sick. All n all we like the seafood boil flavor and we'll be back.

This restaurant has been on my bucket list of seafood boil to try and finally made it out here. Took our seafood lover friends here to celebrate his birthday. The restaurant is pretty clean and spacious, lots of open seatings. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeting my a hostess and seated right away. We were greeted my our waiter who was friendly and attentive to our needs. Menu was a wide variety of seafood boil options, appetizers and drinks. We ordered the calamari and 12 piece raw oysters. Calamari had right amount of crunch to it and enough flavors. Can't ever go wrong with oysters! We had the family special deal which we pick the 1 lb dungeness crab legs, shrimp head on and green mussels with medium spice option. Our friends had the captain feast boil, which includes 2 lobster tails, 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb dungeness crab, 1/2 lb headless shrimp, 1/2 lb sausages, 2 eggs, 2 corn, and 2 potatoes woth spicey flavor option. The sauce was a blend of cajun spices that is rich and buttery garlic blends, with a citrus taste. I enjoyed the sauce. My friend told me the spice level was not spicy for the most spicy option but wasn't surprised. Overall, the experience was great. Friendly staff and quick service. Will definitely come back here to try other other options.

Happy birthday to our granddaughter 12th birthday!!

The service was great. The food came fast and large quantities. Very good seasons- we got the family size order- $65 you can order crab,or lobster and snow crab. Please note only one whole small crab or lobster or snow crab comes in the package. It was our granddaughter 12th birthday! The bathroom weren't clean, water on the floor like a leak. Overall the place was good. Also on the bill, they already had applied of 15%- not cool I was prepared to tip in cash. So out of out separate three order they received 45% tip total.

Wings and Cajun fries lunch special. The lemon pepper wings look burnt.

This was my first time at their lunch time specials. Service was great. Food was timely. The food was hot. HOWEVER, what they call catfish can't be catfish. I can't explain what it tasted like, but it wasn't catfish that I'm used to. The Cajun fries were hot, but they were cooked too hard. I ordered some lemon pepper wings and Cajun fries to go. These fries look harder than the ones that were with the catfish. I wonder if the regular fries are better. A lesson, thoroughly check your food before leaving the restaurant. Don't wait until you get home. These wings look burnt. I get it that this is only $11 plus tax during the lunch special, but dang. So disappointing. I guess I should get the shrimp and rice the next time I try something because the neighboring table seemed to enjoy that combination very much. Or, stick to the two potatoes, one corn, and one cluster of crab in the boil. Ambiance was okay. A couple of songs with undesirable lyrics came on while we were there. The good food part was that my friend enjoyed her oysters and fries. I don't eat oysters, so that wasn't a win for me.

Delicious came here Mother's Day and got two family specials. Came out quick and hot super fresh. I love the steamed bbq oysters! Goes great with steam rice.

We recently visited for Christmas Day lunch! Still a great place to visit. Their seafood deals are so worth it. For $150 we got king crab, snow crab, shrimp, and mussels. Everything tasted delicious, and fresh. We enjoyed our visit. Thanks Captain crab!

Honestly, it was 10/10...even after sitting out and getting cold! They served honey walnut shrimp, egg rolls, garlic noodles, and chicken, and everything was delicious. So much so, I had to ask them where they catered from! I recently stopped in because I've been on a seafood boil kick, and I'm so glad I did. Molly was our waitress, and she was amazing...super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with questions about the menu. She even told us about their Thursday karaoke nights. We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and mussels in the Fusion sauce, mild spice level. The sauce was incredible! It had so much flavor without being overpowering. Next time, I'll definitely be trying medium spice. We also ordered the egg rolls, which were crispy, delicious, and served with lettuce wraps that made them even better. The sauce was sweet and salty. Great combo. The raw oysters were fresh, the garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and every dish we tried was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun with sports games playing on tvs in the restaurant. The calamari was standard. Cooked well. Not overly oily. Loved that it had bell peppers incorporated. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We will definitely be back!

I came across edamame under appetizers. Based on the description, I ordered it. I love me some spicy edamame, especially when it's seasoned very well. I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. I've been in contact with some very personable employees here who are amazing when it comes to customer service so I will definitely be back. And that salt and pepper shrimp has me in a chokehold LOL. I just wasn't a fan of this experience. But I do recommend this restaurant. Great food, great drinks and great staff!!

Shout out for West Sacramento…read more.. Did you know that right in West Sacramento there is a seafood stand selling fresh sustainable caught hook n line fish plucked from the Bodega Bay? Well know you do... Ferrari Fisheries has a stand that sells black cod, ling cod, red snapper which all are year round catches; and seasonal Dungeness crab and salmon. When they have a fresh caught batch; they text their customers what is available catch, and time & date. To get their text notifications; you can sign up on their website. I was fortunate enough to get to their stand early enough on a notification day to buy a couple of Dungeness crabs. The crabs were live, priced at $11/pound. Awesome price! When you get to the stand, there are two lines. The first line you want to get into is the one nearest the big containers where the fish on ice or crabs are kept. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. Keep in mind, the inventory sells quickly especially the seasonal items. Folks queue up earlier than the opening time stated in the texts. The start time was 10am; I got there at 10:20 am. They sold out as I was leaving the stand. Anthony (owner and fishing captain), his wife, and team are terrific. They all were helpful and had the best attitudes. Welcoming. I'm sure they answer the same questions over and over. But when talking with each customer, they were engaged and provided individual attention. Top notch customer service!

They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! I really wanted to try the mini dumplings, that's what drew me to this place. However, they called…read moreme after I placed my online order to say they didn't have them and would like to substitute with the pan fried ones. They didn't offer a refund or any other option so I obliged. The pan fried ones were hella burnt. I like crispy, but these were so overcooked and dry. No soup left in them. The Shanghai thick noodles were ok, but these chicken in it was firreeee! So tender and flavorful. I just wish they gave more. There was only like 10 tiny pieces. I was originally going to get garlic broccoli but didn't want to pay like $14 for broccoli, so got the broccoli beef instead. It was ok, but felt pretty small for $15. I really loved my lychee slush and would probably come back just for that. They boba was rock hard. I had to spit them out because they were literally inedible. I know cold drinks make boba hard, but these were literal rocks.. I'd be willing to try the boba in a different, non-slush drink just to give it a fair chance though. Overall, it was very hit-or-miss. Some things great and others disappointing. I still want to try the mini dumplings, so I will be back.
