The Unlucky Ducky was fantastic!
Anthony N.

This past October 9th, my mom decided to throw me a birthday party AND a surprise birthday party for my dad, who was turning 75 just two days later. Two birthdays, one party! My mom was clearly trying to save herself some planning. She picked this BJ's location because it was right in the middle for everyone coming, and it turned out to be a great choice! Now, let me give a HUGE shoutout to our waiter, Zach! Zach was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! He was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive to our entire party. He made sure everyone was taken care of and really helped make our celebration special. He even brought out our 49ers birthday cake, and we found out he was a fellow 49ers fan! At that point, we knew we had the right guy taking care of us. Bang Bang Niner Gang! I think my mom even sent him home with a couple slices of cake. So Zach, if you're reading this, I hope you enjoyed it! Our whole party had a wonderful time, and Zach was a big part of that. Great service really does make a difference, especially when you're celebrating something special with family. And to BJ's management, PLEASE give this man his kudos! A gold star, a raise, an extra day off, something! He earned it! Thanks again, Zach, for helping make our birthday celebration a memorable one! Until next time!

Sropped in for a Happy Hour beer and some appetizers while watching some baseball. All BJ's have a the same layout, with tables and booths for seating, and a open seating bar area. My buddy and I grabbed a couple seats at the bar. Bartender was friendly, and quick to recommend and serve up a good beer. Ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer and an order of cheeseburger sliders to split from the reasonably priced happy hour menu. Ahi was fresh, great flavored coming with some crisp fried wonton chips to scoop it up. The sliders were simple, but full flacored mini burgers on a toasted slider bun. All in all, a tasty and reasonably priced experience !

Came to bjs for happy hour and got a few personal pizzas for dinner and to pack some away for lunch at work the next day. My wife and I enjoy the bread crust on the pizzas. The fluffy chewy bread is why we enjoys bjs pizza. To each their own and also depends on the day that I would prefer thin crust or thick. Their pizzas are not very saucy so if you like a ton of sauce this might not be your thing. A second standard part of our visits here is the fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. It comes with arugula, Parmesan and a balsamic glaze that acts as the dressing and it's perfect. We love this salad and the price isn't too bad. Sub $10 as of this review. Potstickers were a random decision and they were good. Nothing to rave too much about but we did enjoy them.

Good place to eat and have some drinks. Flight of Margaritas were great. We ordered a specialty drink that comes in tub shaped mug. It was okay but too sweet for my liking. If you're into ciders, you gotta try Woodchuck Blueberry. Damn good! Service was a little off. Waiter seemed to be overwhelmed. I understand it was busy because Thursday Night Football we can do better. I might be reading it wrong. However, There was another gentleman that stepped and assisted us, I'm not gonna go hard. I still left a healthy tip.

Very hungry and was impressed by the all you can eat soup and salad special for 13.99. Includes a mini pizookie too! Service was grear. Not too busy on a late Friday afternoon. People there getting a jump on the weekend. Friday happy hour. Clam chowder was good. Warm for an empty stomach. Hot the spot.

Lots of choices- all Nicholas to make you a rusty nail. Yum.

Oh nooooo. BJs why was the Tri tip steak so tiny?!?! It's just slightly bigger than the lemon wedge. We took this order to go so we didn't notice how sad the meal looked until we got it home. It was a pricey plate too. Flavor was good, even though the steak was small but overall the meal was decently proportioned. I had the pizooki special with chicken, succotash and mashed potatoes which I've had in the restaurant. My to go had less succotash but overall was good. The salmon dish with rice and broccoli was average - the fish was good. The broccoli was super underdone and there was an odd seasoning on the rice. But the fish was GOOD! To go orders can be iffy and inconsistent but when I dine in the food is pretty good.

Great Happy Hour selection Mon-Fri. Ordered Bj's Tatonka stout. ABV 8.5% & also tried the Jeremiah Red. Loved the stout. Ordered the avocado rolls, mozzarella sticks, & chicken bacon personal pizza. Their personal pizzas are always good. All the appetizers were good. The artichoke dip is really good too but I didn't order it this time. I came to this location late night needing to eat with some friends. The staff was very patient with us. The food was still delicious and hot despite the restaurant closing in 30 minutes. Also notable, the servers were so attentive even though we saw they must have had a long day. We tried to rush and eat and make it out on time but with change being needed we were almost 10 minutes over. As a lasting comment, the location was nestled in a neighborhood and maybe it was dark but it blended in so well.

First time here at this location. We didn't have a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was Kiara. She was pleasant and brought our waters out, then took our order. Hubby and I shared the sampler of wings, chips and artichoke spinach dip, two sliders, and mozzarella sticks. It was just enough for the both of us. Everything was delicious. I forgot to take a picture of the sampler as we were hungry! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chunk pizookie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Perfect ending to our lunch! Restaurant was packed when we arrived. If it wasn't for the table with a loud lady talking about her life story across the way, we could have had a much more pleasant and calm dining experience LOL.

Good food and good pricing for drinks! Came here multiple times. Happy hour has $5 beers and wines Great entrees and pizza. The $13 meals are fire too! Good affordable and they put the calorie numbers for all their meals. Helps with portioning etc for those who want to. Great service! Quick and fast! Lighting is nice! Lots of tvs for the bar and dine in seating too for the World Cup and games! Parking is close by. Expect a wait of 30 mins if you go in the evening.

I love BJs food but I was honestly disappointed about the service. Came with a party of 4 late at night around 9pm but good thing about this place that it opens late. We got seated right away. We ordered the Handcrafted Orange Cream soda and the Root Beer. It was so good! My drink tasted like the actual orange cream. We ordered Ahi Tuna Poke with chips for appetizers which was delicious. The tuna tasted so fresh with the guacamole. Then I specifically ordered the Rib Eye steak but the waitress confused my friend's prime rib order with mine so she ordered two prime ribs. When the food came out she apologized for getting my order wrong but I let it go and just decided to keep the prime rib instead. All the food was really good. But when it came to the check it was a different story. We told the waitress we wanted to split the checks into two separate checks with our items that we ordered for both couples. But instead she splits all the items in half. We look at the receipt so confused then we clarify that we wanted receipts with our prospective items and then she asks who will pay for the one appetizer. For that one we decided to split it. Later she comes back with the receipts and it shows the word "split" and the items written twice. She doesn't even explain to us how it printed out before giving to us. Then we when we were talking about it she explains it later. In the end it was very confusing and she still charged me for the prime rib price. I wish she adjusted it for that item because I didn't even ask for it. Hopefully this doesn't happen next time.

Went there for the pazookie and guess what? The pazookie was MID. The wait was terrible also. I was there for a total of 3 freaken hours. Literally a whole labor session depending on the person but damn I didn't know I had to clear out my entire night for dinner. They forget to get the boxes when I asked for the check and that took 30 minutes. Didn't know they were making boxes back there. Oh also, the fries were (COLD). Maybe from all the waiting..

Family meal deals #1 with extra salmons plate and sweet potatoes
Connie L.

Let's cut to the chase and talk about the great values of BJ's meal deals. We loved it so much that we ordered that twice now in one week! BJ has 9 family meal deals. We loved the slow-roasted Tri-Tip & Chicken. It came with a big container of salads, tri-tip, chicken, roasted vegetables, and 4 gigantic baked potatoes. We also added an order of sweet potatoes. One time we added salmons and the other time burger sliders to our meal deals. The meal deals serve 4-6 people. We are a family of three. With our added items, we can make each meal deals lasted at least 3 meals by repurposing the leftover meats with home cooked carbs. We have made chicken Alfredo, steak taco, steak and eggs with potatoes, chicken salads, etc. The foods are so tasty that we can't put our forks down. The prices are unbelievably great.

Ask the Community - BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

How is the fish and chips?

They are pretty good. Nice portion & crispy

My family and I are going to have dinner at this BJ's on 12/17 for 12 people. (I already made a reservation). We will be celebrating a birthday that night. Can we bring a birthday cake from outside and do you charge for cake cutting fee? Thanks.

They will store your cake in there freezer & I possibly think they will cut it for you for free of charge !

Do they offer cauliflower pizza crust?

I think so!

What does sit down dining mean? Is it outside?

They have both outside and inside dinning !

For delivery, do you ensure safety by sealing the bags and boxes? Some driver step food and eat it which can cause some to get infected. How do you ensure they don't open the boxes and bags?

All pizza box's have tape to seal from opening & all other containers are sealed also even the bag there giving you all the food in is also taped & sealed so no delivery driver can open it '!

Jeff have you tried any of the soups if so what would you suggest?

I ordered the Clam Chowder about a year ago. The soup was presented in a small round of sour dough bread.…

Is the deep dish pan pizza real authentic Chicago style pizza? Buttery, soft yet crunchy crust?

Not even close! There isn't any place here in the Sacramento area that can compare to Geno's East (my personal favorite and they ship nation-wide too!), Giordano's or Lou Malnati's, Even Chicago Fire is a poor representation of the real-deal. BJ's…

They also host events like live music, UFC fight nights, and private parties, adding even more reasons for beer and golf enthusiasts to check this place out! I didn't try the golf simulators during my visits due to back injuries, but I enjoyed watching others have a great time. I got to try all of their sushi offerings and the pizza! The sushi is unique and tasty. They use smoked salmon instead of the usual raw salmon, and honestly, it hits! The smoky flavor gives it a delicious twist. The sushi has crunchy toppings, too! Very tasty! I really like the variety of textures. The pizza hit the spot, too. Between the two, there was plenty to enjoy while sipping my current favorite beers: Breaking Bud and Gummy Worms! I really like the self-pour taps because I can try different options and pour just the amount I want. They also offer wine, which is nice when I feel like switching things up and giving my taste buds something different. The owner, Jacques, is great to talk with. I enjoyed hearing about his concept and love the idea of bringing golf, self-pour drinks, and tasty food together in one place. I hope more people come out and discover Waymaker! Whether you're interested in the golf simulators or just want to hang out with a drink and some good eats, there's plenty of reason to stop by. Me and my husband are novice golfers and thought it'd be fun for practice and with our family (took our 7yo and MIL). Pros: Very cool concept. Loved that we could practice our swings, use different clubs, and be able to see all of our specs. Loved the idea that they had sushi cause it's our kids favorite. And loved that they had not just beers, but a good variety of seltzers, ciders and even wine on tap! Cons: VERY limited food menu. What they had listed on their website was NOT what they had available for purchase. There were only maybe 10 food items to choose from, and very high priced for what it was. A couple of hand rolls (1 each for $8-$10), Poke Nachos (on tortilla chips - big no no! - use wonton chips!) for $20 (price ok since you got a few small pieces of fish per chip, but they skimped by using tortilla chips, on both price and flavor! And they had 3-4 sushi rolls. Their "special" roll being $20 alone. There wasn't really anything special about it. Definitely not worth $20!! The fish tasted fresh, but so does the local sushi place down the street with massive rolls, full of fish, for $16-18/roll. So don't expect much from the food. I went to ask the guy at the front of if it was user error on the mobile app... he said that they run out of food and when that happens, they just take it off the menu. LAME! Put a disclaimer on your website! Additionally, the guy at the front desk (upon check in) - unhelpful! He asked us if it was our first time, which it was. He set us up and told us if we had questions to just come ask. We did, and each time he seemed like it was more of an annoyance that we were taking him away from his phone time (that he was on every time I went to ask a question). And instead of explaining to us how things work, and how to maneuver through the screens and set things up, he just did what we asked/needed without showing us so we could never fix it or do it ourselves. We figured some things out on our own, but if you have newbies, it would be worth showing them how to use the system so it doesn't take a ton of our paid for time (at $50/hour) to figure things out. Such a waste and makes the cost to worth ratio deteriorate very quickly. So overall, would we go back. Maybe. Definitely not with our kid (which makes it more rare that we'd return). I like to give everything a second try. But for the cost, it would take some convincing and a MUCH better second experience for me to ever go back or recommend this place to friends.

When the waiter brought my drink, I immediately noticed it didn't look like a traditional Piña Colada, and after tasting it, I confirmed it certainly didn't taste like one either. I politely asked if I could exchange it for a different drink. The waiter returned and said the manager wouldn't allow an exchange but would offer me 50% off instead. I explained that I wasn't happy with the drink and simply wanted to order something else. The manager came over and explained that the menu includes a disclaimer stating the cocktails are made with soju instead of the traditional liquor. In my opinion, the waiter should have mentioned that when I ordered, especially since it significantly changes the flavor. I hadn't noticed the disclaimer--I simply ordered what I thought would be a classic Piña Colada. Unfortunately, I was still charged half the price for a drink I didn't enjoy and wasn't allowed to order a replacement. The manager emphasized that it was too expensive for the restaurant to remake drinks, which I found disappointing. I've never had an experience like this at any other restaurant. On a positive note, I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries, and it was delicious. That was the highlight of the meal. However, the service was also lacking. Our waiter was slow and couldn't answer several of our questions without repeatedly leaving to ask someone else. Because of the poor customer service and how the drink situation was handled, I won't be returning.
