    Red Crawfish
    Ashley L.

A good price for clean and non dead crawfish. Other places I have bought from always had dead crawfish or really dirty but at Cliff's Marina, the crawfish were a good size and clean. My go to place for live red crawfish when in season.

I've been coming to Cliff's Marina for the past year or two during crawfish season. Sorry, I've been hiding this from some of you crawfish lovers. Cliff's is fairly easy to find, you can't miss it as there is a big sign out front. This hidden gem sells blue crawfish starting around the summer until when the rain hits in the fall. I love the service here, all workers are super friendly, nice, and easy to talk to. I noticed a man buying sardines at one point, so I'm assuming this can also be a bait and tackle shop? I'm not entirely sure since I don't fish. The crawfish here is much cleaner than red crawfish that come from the rice field. Cliff's also sells seasonings, boil bags, and oils for crawfish boils as well. I've also seen some snacks for those who might need some for their fishing trip. I usually call in advance to reserve a few lbs of crawfish. Please note that this is a first come first serve basis as well - though I have not had a problem with getting the amount of crawfish I have called in, with a pick up time of around 2pm the latest.

Excellent customer service! I came here for crawfish and they were very friendly and welcoming. My boyfriend called in advance to reserve the crawfish and I went and picked them up that Saturday. I needed 8lbs of crawfish for Fourth of July (Sunday) and they had the blue crawfish available for $5.50/lb. Most of the crawfish were pretty tiny but at least our cravings were satisfied. I didn't have a cooler on me so they bagged it, placed it in paper bag, iced it and I asked for another black bag to place the paper bag in for my trip home. The gentleman weighing the crawfish offered to help carry the the crawfish out to my car but I declined. He was very sweet, he gave me instructions on how to store them until the next day bc I picked up a day ahead. Basically keep them in the fridge out of the water so they don't drown.

Formerly "live" blue Crawfish and Sausage from Cliff's.

Family owned with great customer service. Purchased 20 lbs of crawfish and sausage for a "Cajun style" boil the next day and couldn't have been happier. Will most definitely be back for more before the season ends.

Saw this place advertising their crawfish on a FB page so decided to check them out and placed an order. Boy, were we not disappointed one bit!! The customer service was great! They were so sweet and knew a lot about their crawfish. They were very accommodating, offering ice if needed. We bought 30lbs and they gave us 32lbs, in case any were dead. Again, customer service was *chef's kiss*. After rinsing, we only found like 5 dead ones. They were big and juicy! Delicious! The place is a cute little shop with minimal parking in front but it works! Definitely found our go to spot for live crawfish. Will come back again!

    The Q.

My first experience with crawdads was when the husband and I were dating back in 1982. He was living up Sac at the time and I in SF. One weekend in the summer, over countless (because I lost count of how many I had) gin and tonics and outdoors overlooking a lake, we devoured 10 pounds of these yummy crawdaddies! I was a quick learner (so I thought) and got the technique down in no time on shelling these tiny crustaceans, but to find my fingers all cut up and sore the next morning! Hubs said I was doing it wrong!! The gin and tonics must've numbed all feelings cause I felt no pain at all while shelling them. Fast forward, 33 years later, every summer (actually beginning May through October when they are available), Memorial Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, goes without 10-12 pounds of crawdads as appetizers before our family BBQ! My whole family (kids and boyfriends) has grown to love these crustaceans and expect it every time we visit Sac. This morning, I called ahead to see if they had any available since I was driving a family member home from SF to Sac. The nice gentleman on the phone said they didn't, due to selling out over Father's Day. :( However, they may have some this afternoon :) and took my number down to call me if they get some. A little after noon, the same gentleman called and said they have some in and will have the 10 pounds I want. Fresh caught!! YES!!!!!! I love Cliff's Marina! I've come with hubs numerous times and a few on my own to buy the crawdads. The gentlemen that have helped us over the years are always friendly and their crawdaddies are always fresh and live! On some occasions, when we would buy and bring back to SF, they always provide ice for us to keep the crawdads alive in the cooler. Great customer service! Back in 1982, the price was around $1.25 a pound, it is now $4 but still worth it to be able to feast on these yummy little mudbugs! I hope they stay open forever cuz I will be back every summer! :)

Shout out for West Sacramento…read more.. Did you know that right in West Sacramento there is a seafood stand selling fresh sustainable caught hook n line fish plucked from the Bodega Bay? Well know you do... Ferrari Fisheries has a stand that sells black cod, ling cod, red snapper which all are year round catches; and seasonal Dungeness crab and salmon. When they have a fresh caught batch; they text their customers what is available catch, and time & date. To get their text notifications; you can sign up on their website. I was fortunate enough to get to their stand early enough on a notification day to buy a couple of Dungeness crabs. The crabs were live, priced at $11/pound. Awesome price! When you get to the stand, there are two lines. The first line you want to get into is the one nearest the big containers where the fish on ice or crabs are kept. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. Keep in mind, the inventory sells quickly especially the seasonal items. Folks queue up earlier than the opening time stated in the texts. The start time was 10am; I got there at 10:20 am. They sold out as I was leaving the stand. Anthony (owner and fishing captain), his wife, and team are terrific. They all were helpful and had the best attitudes. Welcoming. I'm sure they answer the same questions over and over. But when talking with each customer, they were engaged and provided individual attention. Top notch customer service!

But none of those reasons are the real reason I truly love Oto's,let me tell you what I really love.....Late last year I decided I was going to learn how to make my favorite food in the world and that is sushi.I went ham,I got the knives I got the kits,I got the rice maker,I got all the seasonings but what I didn't have was a spot to pick up the highest level of fish that was needed to really make homemade sushi pop and that is where Oto's came in to save the day. Their daily "sushi-grade" tuna and salmon that they sell in the back of the store is so next level-even a novice like myself cannot mess up a homemade sushi meal. They have so much to offer at Oto's,all the different levels of salmon and tuna, depending on your budget but all of it is amazing. I will forever be indebted to Oto's for helping me raise my sushi game at home and making my wife think that I'm just the best sushi maker-when it was always just the high quality fish offered at Oto's that did the work-Thank You Oto's for that. In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Land Park area and want to see what all the hype is about at this incredible spot or maybe you just want to try your hand at some home sushi making,be sure to stop by Oto's Marketplace-it truly is a gem amongst gems. PS....Parking sucks here-no way around that one unless u get lucky or have a handicap placard-don't like the parking.
