I think about Bohl everyday. So light, refreshing, simple, yet full of flavor! Perfect for someone who is macro conscious. I come here when I don't want to think or plan what to eat. Esp the weekends when I am not cooking. I don't feel guilt when I take a bite. My fave protein has to be the tofu. Soft & moist. I don't really care for the other protein options because I feel it's quite dry. They could cut the steak pieces into smaller chunks cos it's too tough to chew the cube size. The chicken has good flavor but I depend on the dips/sauces for the main flavor, therefore why prefer the tofu. My fave toppings are the beets, chickpeas, and zucchini. For some refreshers I'll add cucumbers, tomatoes, & carrots. I die for the garlic herb cottage cheese & the spicy hummus definitely has spice! As for the sauces, the jalepeno avocado has a kick too! Green goddess is another go to. I have tried the pita chips too but it's not so much a crunchy chip situation. More like pita bread. And for the price??? $13. Yeah. I'm not mad. Make sure you sign up for their rewards program to earn points too!!! They have hopped onto DoorDash some time ago now too, so I'm happy I can get it delivered whenever I want. Can't forget they also have drinks too! Soda machine & their own refresher juices. Go have those refreshers!! Plenty of seating, indoor & outdoors. Great spot to come meet friends & enjoy a meal together. Also, Katie the manager is awesome!!!! She truly is the sweetest & so bubbly.
I was looking for something healthy and I saw this place pop up on DoorDash. I got the Feta Late Then Never bowl with Japanese steak ($24). I got it pretty quick. Food is pretty good. I like the meat and vegetables. I don't think I got the right sauce for my bowl though. I will say it's a big bowl and can definitely be good for leftovers. I like how they packed in a nice big bag for one bowl. It is kinda pricey for a salad/rice bowl. It kinda reminds me of Cava. Next time, I do want to check out the store.
Bohl focuses on customizable or signature salad or rice bowls. I appreciated there are some curated options or you can build your own bowl. I ordered from the kiosk and found it easy to use and navigate. I opted to build my own and was easily able to make selections add toppings, protein, dipping sauces and dressings. There were different protein options: chicken, steak, and even tofu. The starting price is based on the main protein. You can choose two base options from white or brown rice, romaine lettuce or spring greens. From that point you can add most toppings for no additional charge. I was able to choose so many different toppings: black beans, arugula, crispy chickpeas, roasted beets, roasted zucchini, roasted sweet potato, spicy broccoli, kimchi, fire roasted corn, pickled onions and even more options. liked that there were plenty of different texture choices too. My order was prepared after a few minutes and my name was called out. I also saw a shelf where your order may be picked up. If you prefer one may also order at the counter and have the bowl prepared. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The seating areas are a more modern sleek wood design. There was plenty of parking available outside. Just know the restaurant is in the corner lot of the shopping center. Everything I chose was fresh and delicious. I was easily able to "eat the rainbow" for dinner. There are so many combinations of meals I could make. I think I found a new favorite spot for a healthy and fast food option.
OHMYGOODNESS! What a great surprise!! We were going on a road trip and the family brought home lunch from Bohl before getting on the road. We had the Ranch Hand with double protein! ( grilled steak extra steak with additional cost ). The salad consisted of spring mix, sweet potatoes, pickled onions, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, cottage cheese, and ranch dressing. It was a refreshing surprise! We do something similar at home, but good to know we could order something and be on the healthier side. As far as the roasted sweet potatoes, it was chopped so small that I felt like I barely had any! I know it's all supposed to fit in the bowl so chopping it smaller pieces probably made sense. That's my only complaint. No biggie! Overall, a FANTASTIC concept! We will be here trying other bowl options soon!
My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try after coming back from a road trip. Interior was bright and nicely decorated. Seating available indoor and outdoor. Order at the counter or from the kiosk. Since it was our first time, we ordered at the counter. I went with build your bohl with the Japanese steak. The steak was salty. For the dressings, I went with the Japanese bbq and sriracha vinaigrette. The Japanese bbq sauce was on a salty side. Sriracha vinaigrette was tangy with a bit of heat. I asked for the dips to be on the side. Everything tasted fresh and healthy. Besides the steak was salty, the whole bowl was good overall. I will definitely ask for more toppings next time.
Easy to use online ordering system. Ordered the spicy chicken salad. The portions are large enough for two meals. You are able to add up to 18 items in the standard salad, including vegetables. Did an order to go. The dining area inside looked clean, and the staff was friendly lots of seating inside as well as outside, including umbrellas for shade.
First time trying Bohl after hearing so much about it and I regret waiting this long! This is way above Chipotle and has a Mediterranean/a little bit of Asian twist. There are better topping options. You can taste the freshness and the chicken was super flavorful. I absolutely loved it! The portion size is deceiving because it looks small, but it became 2 meals for me. They also have the most refreshing and tasty drinks! You gotta try them all! I especially liked skipping the line and ordering from the Kiosk. Ready in 2 minutes! My only gripe are the lids. They should be dome-shaped. My sauces got stuck to the flat tops. But anyways, I will definitely visit again and again!
I got a Tofu Build-your-own bohl. My Build-Your-Own Bohl had a base of Half Spring Mix-Brown Rice, Tofu, crispy chickpeas, tomato, cucumber, carrot, zucchini, broccoli, pickled red onion, jalapeno. Sauces were spicy cottage cheese & the non-spicy one + Green goddess dressing & jalapeno ranch. My honest opinion is that it is good, but not life changing. I like seeing that there is a local competitor for other places such as Cava or Chipotle, so I would much rather support this establishment over bigger chains. The protein portion amounts were well done. I think this is a great place for those trying to eat healthier and count macros. Everything that was labeled spicy actually had a kick which I appreciate because it made it delicious. Everything was also seasoned well so that was nice. The pita chip texture could have been better. Overall, I would come here again to try a different bohl combination next time.
Located in the Laguna plaza and idk how I even pass by this place all the time and haven't been here til now!! Plenty of parking in the plaza. When you walk in, you can either stand in line or there's a couple of kiosks to the left of the door upon entrance. Service is very quick, our order was ready in under 10 minutes and we got three "build your own" style bowls. When I found out about this place, I was so elated! It reminds me of cava or like a healthier Chipotle. You select your base of greens, grains, and you can 1/2 portion them as well! Then select your protein. I got the herb chicken and it was good but I liked the spicy blackened chicken more. I tried the Japanese bbq steak and it might've been a little overcooked in my opinion, but the flavor was good. And tons of assorted veggie toppings! It also includes up to two sauces and two sides. I really enjoyed the red pepper hummus and the peri peri sauce. I also got a watermelon mint beverage and it was unsweetened but I still really enjoyed it :) There's plenty of outdoor seating as indoor seating is pretty limited, especially for large groups. It can get a little nosy, but not too bad. I love this little gem here in EG and I already know it's going to be part of my weekly lunch rotation.
I was a Bohl virgin until today. My bestie had suggested this place and we came on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed, but the line was short. It's not daunting at all for a first-timer. It's pretty easy to understand that you pick and choose what you want and the staff place it into your bowl. Staff was cool. The place is nice and clean, modern, and a place you can take someone on a lunch date. They have napkins and utensils for you to grab after you pay. There's indoor and outdoor seating. ! ALSO ! They have an app, if you add what you got, the app will generate macros for you - coolbeans! This is what I got: 1/2 Spring Mix 1/2 Chopped Romaine, 1/2 Japanese BBQ Steak (flavor is not too sweet), 1/2 Grilled Steak (a little dry because it is well done), Black Beans, Fire Roasted Corn, Crispy Chickpeas (crunchy), Roasted Sweet Potato, Diced Jalapeño, Pickled Onions, Kimchi, Roasted Beets, Diced Cucumber, Tzatziki dip (good!), Spicy Cottage Cheese dip (has a lil kick!), Sriracha sauce, and avocado jalapeno sauce. Total, the macros were ~44 grams of protein, ~20 grams of fat, and ~43 grams of carbs. Location is in the plaza of Pho Ivy and Five Guys. There may not be princess parking as this plaza can be busy at times, you may have to park further out near Fidelity and Principal. Drop off a check at Fidelity and then grab a Bohl! ;)
Heard of this place from my girlfriend amd was described as a new spin on Chipotle. Bohl has a modern, sleek and clean vibe, mixed with a counter culture type of art work. Which is a nice touch to what you'd expect in that type of environment. I noted the Banksy'esq print that was adorned on one of the walls, with the other nicely framed graffiti style pieces. My girlfriend and have been here a number of times, and our go-to's is the build your own bowl. Overall: I was pleasantly surprised with Bohl and their upgraded bowl vibe to Chipotle. The healthier and fresher ingredients, makes the Build you own bowl my go-to meal here.
Got an order to go.... Soooooo tasty! My partner got a steak dish and commented his had maybe half the amount of meat compared to my chicken dish. I LOVED my dish and it was super filling. The added tastiness of the pita chips was great!
Came across their Instagram ad and thought their concept reminded me of Cava so I had to give them a try! There was a small line when I arrived but it went by pretty quickly. They also had kiosks for self ordering but I recommend ordering at the counter because it seemed like it was much faster. People who ordered on the kiosks waited a while for their order. I love that they have a tofu option as I'm a vegetarian and so many delicious vegetables toppings! I basically added all their topping options but regretted adding their olives as they made my bowl extremely salty. If you don't like your bowl too salty, I would recommend skipping the olives. I chose their Tzatziki and Garlic Herb Cottage Cheese and both were delicious! I've tried most of their dressings and you can't really go wrong with any of their options! Great healthy on the go meal option in Elk Grove and extremely vegetarian friendly! I will definitely be back!! PRO TIP: sign up for their reward program and you'll earn a free bowl after your first purchase!
TLDR: Solid healthy fast casual spot with customizable bowls and helpful macro tracking. The food was decent overall, though the pita chips could have been crunchier. ------ I came here after hearing about the fresh ingredients and macro-friendly options. I ordered from the kiosks in the back, which took a little while since you are able to customize exactly what goes into your bowl. One feature I really appreciated was that the bottom left corner of the screen shows the overall macros for your bowl. It made it easy to track what I was ordering and be more mindful of what was going into my meal. The food came out fairly quickly, especially since the setup is similar to a Chipotle-style fast casual restaurant. Overall, I thought the bowl was pretty decent. The ingredients tasted fresh, and it felt like a good option if you are looking for something quick and healthier. The main downside was the pita chips that came with our bowls. They were on the softer side and did not have as much crunch as I would have liked. Overall, I thought this was a solid spot for a healthy fast casual bowl. Finally checked out Bohl and thanks to their app, I was able to get a free kids meal already on my first visit! It was perfect for my kids to share. It's actually not a bad price at $7.95 since it also includes a drink! For myself, I chose to create my own bowl with romaine lettuce. If you have decision paralysis, you can pick from one of their signature bowls. I chose steak for mine so it was the priciest at $15, which seems quite high for a salad but I think that's probably pretty comparable to other similar places currently. I especially enjoyed the options for dips and dressings. I wanted to try them all! The tzatziki was my favorite part, along with the sweet potato topping. As much as I love kimchi, it just didn't go well with the combo of ingredients I picked, plus the spice blend overall has more of a Mediterranean feel and the kimchi flavor didn't have a place there. Other than that it was a delicious healthy option to have. They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating, although parking can be a bit tricky during lunch rush in this tiny parking lot. read more
Quick story: just came back from a Cancún trip, while there's realized that I hated my "mom" swimsuit and I didn't feel comfortable in a lot of the outfits that I brought with me, due to my size. So with that being said I'm on a healthy journey. I have been focusing on more Whole healthy foods. I have been looking for a quick healthy place to go, and BOHL was it!!! It's very simple and clean inside and they had interesting options. I was going to give it a 4 because I wish they had a tad more options but I gave them a 5 because I loved the pita bread, it had a sourdough taste to it. I was so excited to try Bohl considering people were saying it's Sacramento's Cava, but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. It's basically a glorified overpriced salad. I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl for pickup, and it was my first time ordering from here so I didn't know what everything was supposed to look like. Thankfully before I left, I stopped at the tables out front and opened my bowl to try to shake the dressing around... turns out they forgot the dressing. I was wondering why my salad looked so dry. I also requested the dips to be on the side, but as you can see from the pictures, they were just placed on top IN my bowl, lol. I will say everything did taste really fresh! The corn and chickpeas are a must if you're building your own bowl. The space is overall really modern, sleek, and clean. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. They have a station for their drinks and utensils as well (similar to chipotle). The staff working the front actively preparing customers' bowls in store were also very kind and gave me my missing dressing on my the side without a problem. read more

Bohl came up when I was searching for somewhere to grab lunch. Parking isn't the easiest to find at times in their lot. I felt a bit deceived by the portion size. The fullness of the bowl doesn't even come close to their display photo. I read some reviews saying the portions were good, so maybe they're compensating for their previous generosity by giving smaller portions now? I hope they have some better consistency as time goes on. Taste-wise it was fine. I had the "Feta Late than Neva" Bowl and Pita Chips. The pita was a bit oily for my preference, but my meal would've felt like it was lacking something without this add-on. Overall, it felt like a relatively light and healthy meal, which is what I was going for. read more
Service was quick and staff was friendly. I like that you can create your own or select from some they have listed on the menu. I got the Roman Empire but added some rice to it. I loved the selection of different teas/lemonades. Only thing was that the chicken was a bit too salty and wasn't completely chicken breast. Overall place was clean and a great vibe. read more
This place took a while to open, but I'm glad BOHL is here. It's a great addition to the area, especially if you're looking for healthier food options. The concept is similar to Chipotle, with a build-your-own style focused on high-protein, quality ingredients served as salads or bowls. I waited for the initial rush to settle after their grand opening and stopped by this past week. The place was busy, with people dining both inside and outside but not much of a line. Ordering is flexible. You can use their app, order at a kiosk, or go straight to the counter, which is what I did. I went with a salad base with steak doubling the protein since each scoop is about 2 oz. There's a wide variety of toppings, and I added spicy feta, tomatoes, cucumber, spicy broccoli, and pickled onions. For dressing, I tried both the house ranch and jalapeño avocado. I also tried their mint watermelon drink. My total came out to $26 with the extra protein. The portion size felt fair for the price, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and the convenience. Overall, I really enjoyed the salad bowl. Everything tasted fresh, the steak was flavorful, and both the ranch and jalapeño avocado dressings were especially good. Looking forward to coming back for another meal! read more
Excited to see bohl open up! Bohl is def their own version of the Cava food chain. You can order on a tablet or stand in line to get your bowl and order chipotle style. I made my own bowl with half mixed greens & half white rice with steak. Love the unlimited toppings and all the dip and sauce choices! For protein options they have chicken, steak, or tofu. Also got their pita chips on the side - it came with 4 pieces. They actually were more like pita bread- not crunchy like chips at all. I still liked it and would get on the side again in the future - sea salt on top was a nice touch. I really liked their drink options as well, I mixed the watermelon mint with strawberry dragon fruit. Very refreshing. My friend and I both liked it and would come back! :) read more

Hmm i came here again and seen they had Japanese bbq steak and I tried with a mix of the other steak and it was pretty chalky and hard not sure ifs just been sitting there and that why didn't taste as good and not right but pretty disappointing. Also got the pita chips and those were just hard and stale not much flavor. The red pepper hummus tasted like the one they sell at trader joe. Not sure if I would want to come here again after today's experience read more
The food is unbelieva-BOHL! We came here on a Saturday just after opening and there was a line, but it wasn't too crazy yet. There are 4 tablets you can also do ordering on your own. We probably waited about 10 minutes in line. The staff were very friendly and energetic. There are so many different options. You can select either their signature rice or salad bowls, or you can create your own bowl. If you create your own bowl, the price will depend on your protein selected. Essentially toppings are unlimited! My partner bought Bohl to-go for my first experience, and I had the Romaine Empire. That was delicious and very fresh! It was a very generous serving, and I could not finish it in one go. I really enjoyed the chicken--it was well seasoned and not dry at all. I also really enjoyed the tzatziki, as well. This time, when we ordered in and I got Steak Me Outside. The steak had decent flavor, but I think I liked the chicken better. The steak also was cut in different sizes (some smaller, some larger) and it was a bit chewy. This was a rice bowl and I liked that they had basmati rice as their white rice option, so that it has a lower glycemic index (if you're into that). I added their spicy broccoli (it added a bit of a kick but not too spicy at all). Unfortunately they forgot to add the grape tomatoes to my bowl, so I was wondering why my bowl didn't have the acid factor for balance. I also liked that there was a large scoop of jalapeno avocado in there (I think I overheard that this is an extra charge if it's not already included in your bowl). We also got sea salted pita chips on the side. There were 4 pieces. I was expecting it to be like the bagged pita chips, like super crunchy, but they were actually more like deep fried bread and it was nice and salty, just how I'd prefer! I'd totally get the salted pita chips again. By the time we left, which was about 1 pm, the line was nearing out the door and there was no indoor or outdoor seating, so I would recommend waiting until the hype dies down or going earlier rather than later in the day. I'm hoping they will expand their hours soon, because for now they're mostly open 12-5 pm, which is unfortunate if you want to have dinner here. You can sign up for their rewards program. We got a free bowl on our second visit already! Restaurant was modern and clean. Yes seating was full, but there is a lot of space! I don't think I could get sick of their food if I ate here everyday. I highly recommend Bohl! read more
Saw this new place open up on social media and decided to give it a try. Ordered one of the pre selected bowls, called feta late than neva. My favorite was the tzatziki sauce and pickled onions in the bowl, it really gave it a fresh wow with everything mixed together. Like a mediterranean style chipotle where you can build your own bowl too. Staff still also newly training and figuring out the menu. New, clean aesthetic inside. Tons of tables to sit at. Would recommend coming and trying this place out. read more

If you like Sweet Green, this place is similar, but with a smaller menu option. The seating is very similar to chipotle. You order on an iPad and everything is packaged to go in paper bags. All of the utensils and bowls are plastic and paper. I personally think that they should have an option for dining in or out so that all these paper bags are not wasted for those that are dining. I ordered off of their signature meal menu and decided to have the ranch bowl which was a salad. The steak cubes were not as tender as I would have liked it, but it was not bad. I chose the garlic cottage cheese for my dressing and it was very garlicky. It was a very good serving, but it is a bit more pricier than sweet green. Sweet green also has more topping choices. The drinks are soft serve you get a cup and you can go get whatever flavored iced tea you would like. I saw an employee refill the bins with water and a concentrate box of lemonade inside of the strawberry lemonade. The unsweetened black tea was on the stronger side, which I liked. Not sure if it is a concentrate as well. It was very nice and clean inside. I would definitely come back and try other bowls when I am in Elk Grove. read more
This place rocks! It's exactly what Elk Grove needs! Think fast-casual healthy salad eatery with a Chipotle-style serving line. The menu is simple; first, choose your base: romaine, spring mix, white rice, or brown rice. Then choose your protein: chicken, steak, tofu or veggie. Finally, choose up to two dips, up to two dressings and unlimited toppings. All ingredients are super fresh and high-quality. Portions are generous: my husband felt full after eating his bowl and I couldn't even finish mine. The pita "chips" (more like bread) are delicious. Service is fast, helpful and very friendly. The dining area has cute tables and chairs and the decor has a modern vibe. Everything is immaculately clean and prices are very reasonable. ($14-18). I'm glad my husband and I decided to try this place. We didn't have high hopes for it, but we're very impressed. My salad bowl had good portions, the dressing is light but still had good flavor. The spicy broccoli wasn't spicy at all, in fact didn't taste like anything at all lol. The bowl was about $14 which isn't bad at all. Inside was really clean. They have about 5 kiosks for customers to order from. I'd come here again and try other sauces. read more

Recently open so the spot was super busy on a Saturday. Luckily there's ton of kiosk available to order so you don't really have to wait in line. Went to the bookstore nearby while we wait for our food. Got two different bowl but we add a bunch of extra stuff to it so it doesn't look very pretty. If you order a drink there's a cup in the bag so make sure to get your self serve drink before leaving. We thought the food was decent but wasn't wow yet. They're still new so I'm sure things will develop. I do like the customizable options they have. Will try again maybe later. For now their hours make it harder to catch them on a weekday since it's only like 12-5 but I think maybe that's soft opening hours. Will see! read more
Great service, but the food texture needs work. I had the Lettuce Enter the Dragon and my son had the Steak me outside. While the staff was amazing--remaking a bowl immediately when I noticed a sauce error--the vegetables were a letdown. Both the broccoli and sweet potatoes were chopped so small they felt mushy rather than fresh. The flavors are good, but I'd prefer larger vegetable cuts and the option to get sauce on the side to keep the bowl from getting soggy if you aren't eating it all at once. read more
I went on a Sunday morning, the line was out the door. We waited about 15 minutes before we got to order. Speedy process creating a bowl, workers work very efficiently and are very kind. All the ingredients looked so fresh, vibrant, and the cleanliness was apparent. You are able to get as many toppings as you like, I personally had four portions of corn in my bowl. They offer steak, chicken, and tofu for their protein options. I will say the steak did not look appetizing. The mushrooms looked suspicious- tasted really good and potent. Loved the variety of sauces and dips available!! I had the spicy chipotle and the Japanese bbq. They also had soft drinks, tea, and fruity juices. I mixed the mango and strawberry dragonfruit juice, so refreshing and delicious! The bowls were all consistent in size, portions were generous. And you can always ask for more while creating the bowl without any additional charge. All of the interactions I had with the workers were phenomenal. So helpful, sweet, which created warm atmosphere and a great experience. Good amount of indoor seating, however, all pretty close knit. And loud inside while there's a rush of customers. They have outdoor seating, which is perfect with the current beautiful weather. All in all, would definitely return! Bowls are definitely on the pricey side however I feel like it's worth it for the portions received and the quality/freshness of ingredients. They are new, so come with patience! I only heard about this place from my friend, who used to work for the owners here. When I was told it would be potential competition for Chipotle, the place I have been loyal to since high school, I just had to give it a try. Overall, I loved my experience. I showed up about 15 minutes before they opened, and there was already a decent line. Once they opened the doors, it moved at a steady pace. I'll admit it wasn't the fastest, but it was their second day open, so I'm obligated to show nothing but grace for the staff, who were very welcoming and eager to help explain how things worked. The puns on the menu really caught my attention. I elected to build my bohl from scratch, but got a Feta late than neva for my husband. I got light rice and the rest as greens for my base, and then chicken for my protein. I was debating getting a double portion, but when I saw how much I got initially, I was immediately convinced not to (huge plus). The variety of toppings here reminded me so much of a poke place. They advertise unlimited toppings, but recommend 6 as the sweet spot so you can still put a lid on your bohl. Since it was my first time, I still asked for a little bit of everything since everything looked so fresh and delicious. I was particularly fond of the roasted sweet potato since it added a nice texture against my feta, roasted red pepper hummus, and spicy feta. You get up to 2 dips, and I ended up getting them added on top, but if you can, I'd recommend getting them on the side, especially if you're taking the bohl to-go. My husband's bohl sat for a while before he ate it, and the dips and dressing really drowned everything. I only tried the green goddess dressing this time around as well, and was hooked. I usually drink water, but decided to try their mango drink. Very refreshing. I then went back to make myself an Arnold Palmer. Highly recommend. They even have good ice here. Iykyk. The place was very clean, but they also just opened for the day, so I'm curious to see how well it stays this way throughout the day. They also have a nice patio, which is where my friend and I ate since the weather was so nice. I signed up for the rewards program since it was super easy to get started in line with just your phone number, but it may have been easier for me since it's administered through Cash App, which I already have. There might be a promo going on right now since I immediately got enough points for a free bohl. I'll definitely be coming back here, but I think this place separates itself from Chipotle enough that I wouldn't end up choosing between the two that often. Chipotle definitely shines in its simplicity, whereas here it will take me several visits to find out what my go-to combination is. Even then, I'm sure I'll still be going back to Chipotle when I'm trying to avoid decision fatigue. read more
the kiosk to order was so helpful and made things way less stressful, especially when choosing all the toppings, sauces, dips, etc. my bowl came out perfectly, except the steak was a bit too tough for our preference, leaning closer to jerky, but the chicken was delicious! our bag was sitting in the pick up area for a while i believe. maybe if there was a text saying our order was ready would have been more helpful as the workers may have called out my name, but not loud enough (or maybe i wasn't paying attention). other than that, i would definitely come back again. the food and sauces were so yum! read more
