Came across their Instagram ad and thought their concept reminded me of Cava so I had to give them a try! There was a small line when I arrived but it went by pretty quickly. They also had kiosks for self ordering but I recommend ordering at the counter because it seemed like it was much faster. People who ordered on the kiosks waited a while for their order. I love that they have a tofu option as I'm a vegetarian and so many delicious vegetables toppings! I basically added all their topping options but regretted adding their olives as they made my bowl extremely salty. If you don't like your bowl too salty, I would recommend skipping the olives. I chose their Tzatziki and Garlic Herb Cottage Cheese and both were delicious! I've tried most of their dressings and you can't really go wrong with any of their options! When I walked in to pick up my order it was easy with a pick up shelf similar to Chipotle. The place was also very clean and well laid out with dining indoors and outdoors. Heard of this place from my girlfriend amd was described as a new spin on Chipotle. Bohl has a modern, sleek and clean vibe, mixed with a counter culture type of art work. Which is a nice touch to what you'd expect in that type of environment. I noted the Banksy'esq print that was adorned on one of the walls, with the other nicely framed graffiti style pieces. Quick story: just came back from a Cancún trip, while there's realized that I hated my "mom" swimsuit and I didn't feel comfortable in a lot of the outfits that I brought with me, due to my size. Finally checked out Bohl and thanks to their app, I was able to get a free kids meal already on my first visit! It was perfect for my kids to share. It's actually not a bad price at $7.95 since it also includes a drink! For myself, I chose to create my own bowl with romaine lettuce. If you have decision paralysis, you can pick from one of their signature bowls. I chose steak for mine so it was the priciest at $15, which seems quite high for a salad but I think that's probably pretty comparable to other similar places currently. I especially enjoyed the options for dips and dressings. I wanted to try them all! The tzatziki was my favorite part, along with the sweet potato topping. As much as I love kimchi, it just didn't go well with the combo of ingredients I picked, plus the spice blend overall has more of a Mediterranean feel and the kimchi flavor didn't have a place there. Thankfully before I left, I stopped at the tables out front and opened my bowl to try to shake the dressing around... turns out they forgot the dressing. I was wondering why my salad looked so dry. This will be my second time dining here. I got the chicken bohl this time with brown rice. Overall, the portion sizes were above average and all of the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. If you like Sweet Green, this place is similar, but with a smaller menu option. The seating is very similar to chipotle. You order on an iPad and everything is packaged to go in paper bags. All of the utensils and bowls are plastic and paper. I personally think that they should have an option for dining in or out so that all these paper bags are not wasted for those that are dining. I ordered off of their signature meal menu and decided to have the ranch bowl which was a salad. The steak cubes were not as tender as I would have liked it, but it was not bad. I chose the garlic cottage cheese for my dressing and it was very garlicky. It was a very good serving, but it is a bit more pricier than sweet green. Sweet green also has more topping choices. The drinks are soft serve you get a cup and you can go get whatever flavored iced tea you would like. I visited family here over the weekend and basically had this place everyday I was here and even took some back home- an hour away, unfortunately when I went home to eat it I found a hair in my bowl!. You can select either their signature rice or salad bowls, or you can create your own bowl. If you create your own bowl, the price will depend on your protein selected. Essentially toppings are unlimited! My partner bought Bohl to-go for my first experience, and I had the Romaine Empire. That was delicious and very fresh! It was a very generous serving, and I could not finish it in one go. I really enjoyed the chicken--it was well seasoned and not dry at all. I also really enjoyed the tzatziki, as well. This time, when we ordered in and I got Steak Me Outside. The steak had decent flavor, but I think I liked the chicken better. The steak also was cut in different sizes (some smaller, some larger) and it was a bit chewy. This was a rice bowl and I liked that they had basmati rice as their white rice option, so that it has a lower glycemic index (if you're into that). I added their spicy broccoli (it added a bit of a kick but not too spicy at all). Unfortunately they forgot to add the grape tomatoes to my bowl, so I was wondering why my bowl didn't have the acid factor for balance. I also liked that there was a large scoop of jalapeno avocado in there (I think I overheard that this is an extra charge if it's not already included in your bowl). We also got sea salted pita chips on the side. There were 4 pieces. I was expecting it to be like the bagged pita chips, like super crunchy, but they were actually more like deep fried bread and it was nice and salty, just how I'd prefer! I'd totally get the salted pita chips again. By the time we left, which was about 1 pm, the line was nearing out the door and there was no indoor or outdoor seating, so I would recommend waiting until the hype dies down or going earlier rather than later in the day. I'm hoping they will expand their hours soon, because for now they're mostly open 12-5 pm, which is unfortunate if you want to have dinner here. You can sign up for their rewards program. Recently open so the spot was super busy on a Saturday. Luckily there's ton of kiosk available to order so you don't really have to wait in line. Went to the bookstore nearby while we wait for our food. Got two different bowl but we add a bunch of extra stuff to it so it doesn't look very pretty. If you order a drink there's a cup in the bag so make sure to get your self serve drink before leaving. We thought the food was decent but wasn't wow yet. They're still new so I'm sure things will develop. I do like the customizable options they have. Will try again maybe later. I went on a Sunday morning, the line was out the door. We waited about 15 minutes before we got to order. Speedy process creating a bowl, workers work very efficiently and are very kind. All the ingredients looked so fresh, vibrant, and the cleanliness was apparent. You are able to get as many toppings as you like, I personally had four portions of corn in my bowl. They offer steak, chicken, and tofu for their protein options. I will say the steak did not look appetizing. The mushrooms looked suspicious- tasted really good and potent. Loved the variety of sauces and dips available!! I had the spicy chipotle and the Japanese bbq. They also had soft drinks, tea, and fruity juices. I mixed the mango and strawberry dragonfruit juice, so refreshing and delicious! The bowls were all consistent in size, portions were generous. And you can always ask for more while creating the bowl without any additional charge. All of the interactions I had with the workers were phenomenal. So helpful, sweet, which created warm atmosphere and a great experience. Good amount of indoor seating, however, all pretty close knit. And loud inside while there's a rush of customers. They have outdoor seating, which is perfect with the current beautiful weather. All in all, would definitely return! I only heard about this place from my friend, who used to work for the owners here. When I was told it would be potential competition for Chipotle, the place I have been loyal to since high school, I just had to give it a try. Overall, I loved my experience. I showed up about 15 minutes before they opened, and there was already a decent line. Once they opened the doors, it moved at a steady pace. I'll admit it wasn't the fastest, but it was their second day open, so I'm obligated to show nothing but grace for the staff, who were very welcoming and eager to help explain how things worked. The puns on the menu really caught my attention. I elected to build my bohl from scratch, but got a Feta late than neva for my husband. I got light rice and the rest as greens for my base, and then chicken for my protein. I was debating getting a double portion, but when I saw how much I got initially, I was immediately convinced not to (huge plus). The variety of toppings here reminded me so much of a poke place. They advertise unlimited toppings, but recommend 6 as the sweet spot so you can still put a lid on your bohl. Since it was my first time, I still asked for a little bit of everything since everything looked so fresh and delicious. I was particularly fond of the roasted sweet potato since it added a nice texture against my feta, roasted red pepper hummus, and spicy feta. You get up to 2 dips, and I ended up getting them added on top, but if you can, I'd recommend getting them on the side, especially if you're taking the bohl to-go. My husband's bohl sat for a while before he ate it, and the dips and dressing really drowned everything. I only tried the green goddess dressing this time around as well, and was hooked. Finally got a chance to try this place (came on opening weekend & line was out the door). Walked right in and no waiting during lunch on a Friday at 12:15. Bypassed the kiosks and began my ordering process identical to Chipotles. The base consisted of brown or basmati rice (no seasoning) or lettuce (spring mix or romaine). The proteins were diced chicken thighs, grilled steak and seasoned, diced tofu; no pork offerings here. You then finished off your bowl with a variety of (unlimited) toppings, dips (choose 2) and dressings (choose 2). I feel the line may move more swiftly and less questions asked by the customer if the description signage (5x7 laminated) were placed higher on the glass versus at the bottom (perhaps font can be bigger as well). Lot of the toppings and dressings looked great, but weren't the obvious/identifiable items like at Chipotle's. I didn't know what the green, finely chopped item was (broccoli florets), nor did I identify with the roasted garbanzos, cut sweet yams, or any of the dips & sauces; fortunately the worker was extremely patient answering my multiple "what's that/is it spicy" questions. My take on my custom-made bowl... Basmati rice was bland, brown rice cooked perfect; chicken was good, and the multiple toppings I chose were great (faves were the roasted garbanzo beans and the Kim chee). Dressings were flavorful (Tzatziki and roasted red pepper hummus and the dressings were great (jalapeño avocado & green goddess). I should've asked for less of the dressings, as it somewhat drained the flavors of the toppings I had in the bowl. Overall a good lunch, will be back to try the steak next time. I was glad to try this new quick serve in Elk Grove. The process is pretty easy. For your bowl, you can pick brown rice, white rice or salad. I was able to mix white with brown rice. Protein choices are chicken, beef, or tofu. There were various toppings available and then you get to pick the dressing. You can also get two side dips. I was able to try all 4 and liked them all. Bohl is still relatively new and I waited until crowds died down to try it. It's the same concept as Chipotle or Hokipoki etc. Make a bowl with a base, protein and add ins. I had their tofu for my protein and it's marinated in a yummy sauce that adds extra flavor to the bowl. I will say, you can pick as many toppings and there are quite a few. They also have several dressing options. Everything was fresh. No complaints at all about the food. There is plenty of inside seating and a nice little patio. The staff were fast and friendly. My only complaint is that is was $20 for rice, tofu and veggies (with a drink). It is a good portion size but it just seems pretty high for what it was. I was so excited to try this place as I love salads and I'm always on the lookout for a really good salad. I stopped in on a Thursday early lunch. It wasn't busy at all. It Reminds me of a Chipotle. you can order from the kiosk, but since it was my first time I just got in line & there was no one in line. Staff were friendly. I chose the mixed greens with the Romaine as my base. I wanted a little rice but totally forgot to add it as staff didn't ask me and I was already moving onto protein, so I totally forgot. Also added corn & black beans. I opted for a little of the spicy chicken and tofu. for the toppings, I chose the beets, olives, roasted sweet potato, spicy broccoli & cucumber. For the dips, I chose the Tzatziki & Spicy cottage cheese. For the dressing, I chose jalapeno avocado & spicy chipotle. Ok so maybe I just mixed everything all wrong because when I finally tasted it, I don't know how to describe it but it was OK. I don't think I'll come back ever. I really wanted to like this place but I didn't really enjoy my salad. There was nothing on my salad that I truly thought was so amazing. The tofu was just ok. I really like beets, but I didn't think these beets tasted that good. I usually love corn and it's always sweet, but this was just corn that just didn't taste very good to me. There's plenty of seating inside and patio seating. I opted to sit outside since it was a nice day. Plenty of parking. read more

I asked my husband to pick up Bohl for me to try since I've been trying to go for a while. The wait was extremely long for a Monday at 2pm! Took over 30 minutes. My bowl does not look like the pictures depict them to be. I got the casa bohl Nita and pita chips which show what looks like at least 4 chips or more but only got 3 quarters. It's ok - nothing amazing. Not sure if I'd come back for the price point. read more

Yesterday our daughter and granddaughter brought us to try it. So we stopped there for lunch and really liked it. If you want a good salad this is the place you can make your own salad or buy what's on the menu. They also have the pita bread chips, which was really good also. Yesterday was a beautiful day so we sat outside, which was really nice. We all made our own salads. read more

Everything here is either too sweet or unseasoned for me. Things that I expect to be savory tastes sweet which is odd. A lot of the meats were tough and on the chewier side. Beware the pita chips are NOT crunchy! They do have plenty of seating-- reminiscent of a chipotle but a lot more fancy. read more
