First time here. I ordered the build your own with rice & salad opted for the chicken shawarma with everything & chose the Creamy Jalapeno & Tazitiki sauce. Everything was so good. Loved the salad and sauces. Staff were friendly. Very clean restaurant. Be sure to clean up after yourself. I would dine here again. This is in the same shopping plaza as Dollar tree and LaBou. plenty of parking.

My favorite spot when in town. Fresh ingredients, flavorful food. The Mediterranean nachos are my go to! A must try. Cones in an appetizer portion as well as an entree. The entree size literally just includes more pita chips. Might be cheaper to get the appetizer size and an extra side of pita chips quaint inside seating. Always a clean establishment. Service is decent.

02.10.2026 - CREST CAFE - ELK GROVE, CALIFORNIA - Sometimes a craving calls for something simple, satisfying, and nourishing. That day, it had to be vegetarian--and falafel felt like the perfect answer. When I arrived, the restaurant was quiet, almost empty, and for a brief moment I hesitated. Still, something about the menu invited trust. I decided on the build-your-own falafel, choosing a warm pita filled with crisp falafel, garlic sauce, and tzatziki, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and a request for red onions. I ordered it to go, eager to get home before the rainy afternoon turned dark. Back at home, opening the takeout box felt like a small reward. Inside were five beautifully golden falafel balls resting atop a colorful bed of vegetables, with the pita tucked neatly underneath. The aroma alone hinted at care and tradition. The vegetables--red onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers--were dressed with olive oil and gentle Mediterranean spices, bringing brightness and depth to every bite. The flavors were comforting and familiar, the kind that remind you why simple food, done well, is so memorable. Warm, hearty, and incredibly satisfying, this falafel felt like a meal made with intention. What began as a moment of uncertainty turned into a delightful discovery. If you're ever in the mood for something wholesome and flavorful, especially on a quiet, rainy day, this is a place worth stepping into. I left already looking forward to the next visit--and that says everything.

I got to try this place thru door dash and it makes me want to try it in person. I was actually surprised to see how much food was included. The salad was very fresh and the rice and chicken shawarma were flavorful. All of it together made a great medley of flavors that did not make me feel guilty or like I overate. It was very light but filling at the same time. I love the build your own option because you can customize it to your likings. I definitely would like to try more from this place.

Decided to try this place out since I was craving a salad I got the Mediterranean salad and it was good could use a little more dressing then they give you in the little container cup since I got it to go. It came with naan bread and which I thought was hummus but it was ranch... strange. I also got the fries which were good the fries were good and stuff and it basically was like feta with I forgot the white sauce. They give you lots too.

Crest Cafe has been on my list for quite some time and I'm happy I finally made the time to go! Yum yum yum. This is a modern take on Mediterranean food. As beautiful as the pics are the taste certainly meets your expectations. Inside the restaurant is impeccably clean and I love the modern design. Inviting and trendy especially with their sign that said, "Make the World a Feta Place". Didn't grab a pic because people were sitting there. Tables were quickly cleaned once parties finished their meals. The service I received was perfect as the employee was very friendly, helpful, and kind. Based off the employee's recommendation I chose the Mediterranean Nachos over the fries (sorry fries). Oh my goodness, this was amazing! Pita chips freshly made and held up extremely well as my scooping vessel. Everything tasted so fresh and the chicken shawarma...wow! I could eat just that alone! My friend got their Couscous Salad and very much enjoyed it with their garlic sauce. Wasn't quite enough what they gave so we asked for more with no issues, like an extra charge for it. Definitely Chik-Fil-A vibes here! No stinginess. :) I will happily come back here again for the Mediterranean Fries. Highly recommend you make a visit!

Holy Moly. The Mediterranean bowl at Crest Cafe is just so amazing! I ordered it without olives but the entire bowl, the chicken, marinade, the freshness - ugh! So Good! I ordered a second bowl to go because I knew I'd crave it again the next day. The wonderful lady at the front assisted me with care and great service. I love the decor here as well, the neon sign and the lemons and foliage just adds to a beautiful experience. 10/10 recommend !

I just had the chicken shawarma tacos and the nachos and both were very good and very filling. After the tacos, I could only eat about a quarter of the nachos because I was full. I've had four items now on the menu and I am eager to try the rest.

Visited during my lunchtime and order to-go. A cozy quick service cafe. Not too busy which was surprising for it being lunch. Mediterranean nachos had lots of flavor and really good. Also ordered 'build you own' and I chose a wrap w/ chicken and garlic sauce. Bigger than I expected so it was filling. Chicken was flavorful but wrap as a whole lacked flavor. Maybe I needed to choose taziki sauce next time. Other thing I didnt care for, I felt I had to eat it quickly because juices was making the wrap soggy. Next time I'll probably order and eat there. Might be a better experience.

Cute lil spot in Elk Grove. I got the fries and they were LOADED!! Great flavor and portion. The chopped veggies on top were super refreshing and the whole meal felt very light despite how much food it was. My brother got the tacos and liked them. He said they could have used spicier jalapeños but he just really likes spice. The sauce on both was amazing and not overpowering. Inside was chill, lots of seating and natural light. Parking here is a lil tight since there are so many other shops but usually you'll be able to find a spot.

    Greek salad with vinaigrette dressing
    Chris T.

My very first time ordering from Crest Cafe. It's a cute little restaurant, casual dining, bright and clean. I ordered the Shawarma beef with rice and side salad. I wanted beef shish kabobs they only served chicken kabobs, I think. The side salad was very fresh, with healthy greens, red bell peppers, diced tomatoes, diced red onions, carrots and cucumbers. The dressing was a very light Greek vinaigrette dressing that was pretty tart with a salty kick that was complementary to the taste. The beef was sliced very thin, like tiny stir fry strips, seasoned well. The white rice was a great balance for the saltiness of the beef, but it also got pretty greasy with the oil from the meat. Overall, the meal was good, and filling, but i couldn't place what I was missing. I chose the chipotle sauce and garlic sauce, but i didn't feel it helped. I should've chose the creamy Greek sauce. There was also two very small pieces of pita bread, but probably could've used another slice or two for the saltiness in the meat. The server was very nice, and patient with my order, but wasn't able to describe some of the dishes to know how it's cooked I think more photos would've helped for some of the names I didn't understand. I am willing to go back and try something else.

In short: -Decent service- not friendly but food came out pretty fast. -Food was not mind blowing but was good. -Ambiance reminded me of Nick the Greek. I was sooo excited to try this place since the reviews were so good! The food for me did not wow me but it wasn't bad. My boyfriend seemed to really enjoy the food that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 3. Now I am a foodie so I am picky. We cook a lot at home and bf makes great meals so if you don't cook homemade meals at home and just want a light and fresh meal, you will prob love this place. I got a Mediterranean bowl- it tasted fresh which was good but they must have cut the cucumbers really small because I didn't notice any. I was trying to figure out what it was missing later I didn't think it had any cuc so came back to look at the menu to check. It is suppose to. It had white rice on the bottom, along with a so called Shawarma chicken that was like no shawarma chicken I had before. It didn't have any grill on it or any Caramelized bits and was covered in a creamy sauce if some kind. Not bad but I prefer my meat to be from a rotisserie or a grill. My boyfriend ordered the beef tacos and the nachos. He gave me a taco and it was unique, same wet meat with an unidentifiable sauce, apparently it's avocado hummus with eggplant salsa and chipotle tahini sauce. It was a bit of an odd mixture for me but overall it was fun to try. Just not good enough for me to order for myself. I tried a bite of the nachos- fried pita chips were thicker than I was anticipating, topping were not memorable but not bad. We were not greeted when we came in and I got a weird vibe from the young lady at the counter like she didn't want to help us. I might come back someday to try a falafel plate but with lower expectations.

I'm so happy Crest Cafe is in Elk Grove!! I've never had a bad meal here. Rather, it's a place I always come back to!! Food is cooked fresh, and ingredients are always high quality. Thanks for existing Crest!!

We returned many times since then but today, the old memories of why Ariana was one of our favorite restaurants returned. We ordered our favorites: Chablee kabobs, Chicken kabobs, Qabuli rice, mantoos, and Bolani. Qabuli rice or Kabuli pula, is my favorite. The basmati rice is served with the tender lamb meats. It's fragrant, eye-pleasing, and a good balance of sweet and savory spices and ingredients. It surely fits to be called the national dish of Afghanistan. Mantoos (Afghan dumplings) is the must have in my family. It's filled with ground beef and onions, covered with chickpeas sauce and tzatziki sauce and sprinkled with mint. It's refreshing. Bolani (potatoes turnovers) served with my favorite chutney that's made with cilantro, vinegar and garlic. The kabobs were tender and delicious as expected. I always like the foods from this restaurant. Today, the food arrived piping hot!! We did mostly takeouts from this restaurant for years. I noticed the restaurant did a lot of takeout orders but not many eating in. We did dine-in once, a few months ago. The restaurant updated their interior. The interior felt too dark when we went there for lunch. While the restaurant looked cleaner, I wasn't sure what the theme was. The spaces didn't seem to blend together to create a feeling of comfort. It's not enticing for us to stay to enjoy our foods inside the restaurant. But we like the foods so we will return for takeouts.

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.
