    Loaded fries
    Ashley C.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find another hidden gem! This came up on my search last Saturday and it sounded so good I put my son in the car and we drove out right away to go get some. It's less than 10 mins away and I had no idea it was here! It's just a small little food cart located in the gas station parking lot off of Grant Line. Unfortunately when we arrived, it was closed!! No sign or anything saying they would be back or just closed for the day, only the sign for their regular hours (11a-7p daily, closed Sundays). I was super bummed, went to find something similar nearby and was very much let down. My husband ended up going back yesterday to surprise me with some and it sure was delicious!! He said they were so nice too. We had a chicken rice plate, spicy chicken rice plate, and loaded fries with chicken and lamb. The spicy chicken rice is my go-to, reminds us of what we used to eat all the time at Sac State during lunch breaks! It was very good here too, I would ask for more spicy sauce next time because it didn't taste too spicy to me. I also wish the chicken was chopped a bit smaller because the bigger pieces were a bit dry but the sauce definitely helps! But the winner was definitely the loaded fries!! The fries tasted like McDonald's. All the sauce does make them a bit soggy but the taste is still there. I actually enjoyed the lamb more than the chicken with these. Only downside about the fries is they're only good fresh, whereas the chicken rice plate is still good leftover and reheated. So glad we found this place nearby, will definitely be coming back for quick lunch or dinner pickups!

I found out about this place from a fellow Yelper , Shannen, who ate there last night. I went there today for a late lunch. It's a little truck parked in the lot of the Ace Hardware. It even has 2 picnic tables in the grass next to it. The son was so nice. He said Wilton is just finding out about this type of food so he gets more customers everyday. I wanted to try both meats so he said I could get both the lamb and chicken over rice. I had the white sauce. It was wonderful. I paid in cash so it was $11 bucks total. The meat was cooked perfectly. So tender and juicy. Good flavor and the rice was fresh and soft. The portion was good and it filled me up. I totally recommend this place. I know it's a bit out there but worth the drive. I should go back and ask him to do a elite event hehehe. I thought about it. I will have to try the beef kabobs next time. The baklava is made from another bakery so I didn't get it. I would have if they made it.

Randomly drove my and caught my eye, since I was already hungry I decided to stop by. Let me tell you, so glad I stopped!! This was phenomenal!! Got the chicken gyro, soooooo GOOD! It's inside the Ace hardware parking lot. Owners are super friendly and so accommodating. I highly suggest you get the chicken gyro, so much flavor! There's benches and tables on the grassy area. Come in the evening, with a cool breeze, so perfect!

delicious hot food that same out quick !! i asked for extra white sauce and she delivered. she's located in a small gas station parking lot but it's worth making the drive.

Yummy Gyro is a hidden gem in Wilton. It's a little food wagon parked by Ace Hardware and Shell gas station. It can be a bit of a drive if you don't live around here. I randomly discovered them on Yelp and decided to check it out. The service was friendly, the food portions were great and we ordered the lamb and chicken combo (it's not in the menu but they will make it if you ask them). It was $11 per rice plate and our meals were freshly prepared and tasted great. Come check them out if you are ever in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Messy photo, we dug in, couldn't wait!

Nice little hidden gem in rural Elk Grove. If driving in the area, do stop. We got lamb plates and it was good. Meat was flavorful and tender. Prices are pretty reasonable as well with the plates at $12.99.

Driving home from Lodi and saw a gyro truck, obviously had to stop (do they make a bumper sticker that's says I brake for Gyros?). Anyways, I'm so glad I did. The guy running the truck was very nice and answered all my questions. The food came out very quickly also. The lamb gyros we got were so goooood!! My husband usually dislikes sauce on his "sandwiches" but was pleasantly surprised with these. He loved it!! Highly recommend!! I can't wait for another trip out that way so we can stop again!!

Are they still open? I haven't seen their truck the last few times I've been down Grant Line.

Do the gyros come with white onions and tomatoes? Photos appear to have only lettuce for produce...

    Yes, it was lettuce only.

Took it at home and ate the entire dish. It was refreshing and nice. I'll definitely come back to this one. I find it funny that I was told the limitations on my protein. I especially wanted to see if their lamb shank was still the "star" from my last visit and to try their meat kabobs. So what did we order. 1) Lamb shank (2 orders): again, i believe this entree is one of the best items here. The shank is braised so well that the meat comes right off the bone without any efforts. The flavor is exceptional. it arrives on a bed of rice, hummus, greek salad, and pita bread. This is an item i would order without hesitation. 2) Chicken kabob skewers plate: 6 pieces of boneless white meat that is grilled once the order is placed. The chicken had a nice char and looked great. But the flavor was very mild and grilled a little too long which made the meat a tad dry...perhaps the chicken needed to be marinated longer for the spices to penetrate but the dryness was in preparation over the grill. 3) chicken and beef kabobs skewers plate: again the chicken was grilled a tad too long which made the pieces dry. the beef was moist and had a nice flavor. It also comes with rice and a salad. 4) mixed plate: sliced meat from a rotisserie spit on top of a bed of rice and topped with tzatziki sauce and hot sauce, hummus and greek salad. the sliced meat was a bit dry but more tzatziki sauce on the meat helped. The side salads were very basic. The pita bread is not as soft and fresh as the ones from Jayna Gyro on Alhambra blvd. But I would give 4 stars for the lamb shank and 2-3 stars for the grilled and chicken and beef kabob and rotisserie chicken sliced from the spit.

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The kitchen was kind enough to serve the food family style and there was plenty of spare naan and rice, but the delicious kabobs were all gone. Folks really liked the lamb, but my favorite is still the mildly spicy chapli kabobs! I took a bolani home. It is perfectly crispy after a few minutes in the toaster oven. Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.

I first encountered Afghan cuisine some 20 years ago when I was privileged to work with resettling Afghani people in St Louis, MO. I have eaten at many Afghan restaurants since then and have enjoyed the food very much. However, of all the restaurants and homes that I've eaten in, I have found that I do not enjoy the sauces offers here. There is no true "white" sauce that I've eaten elsewhere and all of the sauces are watery instead of thick. Perhaps it is a regional preference. Also, I wish they would consider adding a half naan/half rice option to the place instead of rice OR naan. The rice, by the way is absolutely DELICIOUS I also enjoy the complimentary green or milk tea but would appreciate a cooler of water to be dispensed in the same area. I enjoy both the food ambience in this casual spot. I will continue to return, as I work my way through their menu.
