I happened upon Rumi's Oasis while walking the Trader Joe's shopping plaza. I dropped my car off at America's Tire and had an hour to kill. I wanted some real food and saw they were open. I went inside and was greeted by wonderful staff. I asked if the kitchen was open at 10:30am and they said yes. So I proceeded to order the combo Beef and Chicken plate and a cup of coffee. The food came out within 10-15 minutes, I wasn't in a rush and it was delicious. The chicken wasn't dry, the beef wasn't dry, and both were seasoned well. The basmati rice and flat bread were the stars for me. As good as the meats were, the rice and bread were better. Both were fluffy and had a real savoriness to it. It was so satisfying. The coffee was strong and dark but not bitter. It was similar to percolating coffee so the flavors were rich, deep and strong. Overall the staff, food, and service was excellent. I'd stop here for Middle Eastern food any day. read more

I was a regular customer at Rumi's Oasis for several years and genuinely loved their baked goods, especially their cakes. There used to be a young employee who was always polite, welcoming, and consistent with pricing. I ordered a mango cake for a party that cost $57, and I felt it was well worth the price because it was delicious. However, when I ordered the exact same cake just two weeks later, the employee checked with the owner and suddenly the price increased to $75. The inconsistency didn't sit well with me, especially over such a short period of time. After that employee left, I interacted with the owner more often and unfortunately my experiences became increasingly negative. On one visit, my friends and I had purchased food and were enjoying our meal when a wedding party arrived. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner sent the cashier to our table and essentially asked us to leave so there would be room for the larger party. We had already paid for our meals (as customers) and were just sitting and enjoying our food, and the experience felt very disrespectful. On another visit, we stopped by with friends for pastries. While overseeing a remodeling project, the owner approached us and asked, "Are you going to be ordering food?" The tone made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. The owner has seen us many times but behaves like she doesn't know us. This was especially disappointing considering how much money I had spent there over the years and how many friends and family members I had brought to support the business. The pastries and cakes are still very good, but customer service matters. Unfortunately, the way we were treated repeatedly made us feel unappreciated as loyal customers, and that's why I can no longer recommend the experience. read more

So I had the desire to have a lamb gyro, I walk in and there are only two customers. I order the gyro. He calls out to me, "Chicken or Lamb?" I said Lamb. He says, "10 minutes." I wait for 15 minutes. He comes up to the register and waits on someone else. I ask the man, "How much longer?" He replies, "I'm busy. I'll make it." I told him, "Forget it." Stopped in after shopping at Trader Joe's & Kohl's. This is such a cute place. Love the decor. It's quite. Tried the qaimaq chai. I had no idea what qaimaq was but I love trying new things so I ordered it then researched after I received my order. So Qaimaq chai is a rich & creamy tea made by combining strong black tea but I think this was a pink tea cuz it was pinkish. Combine it with qaimaq which is a thick clotted cream. It's A traditional drink in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. It was slightly pinkish & it was so good. Staff were friendly. Around the aisle is a seating area with many tables. There are also some tables outside too. They have a variety of snacks, drinks, etc. Everything in the bakery section looks delicious. Located near Trader Joes/Ace Hardware/Daiso, this is a convenient spot to grab a bite or take a coffee break while shopping locally in Elk Grove. Enjoyed the fried fish bites, the potato stuffed flat bread with yogurt sauce on the side. These savory snacks paired perfectly with my pink cardamom latte. They also serve shakshuka for breakfast and have kababs for lunch as well. There is a bakery where you can also get fresh flatbread and other baked delicacies - like dubai cheesecake and baklava. We've been wanting to try Rumis Oasis for a while. It's located in the same parking lot as Trader Joe's grocery store and the new Skecher's shoe store. With that being said, ample parking in this shared parking lot. As you enter the door, there's a register counter to you right. There's a few aisles of grocery items. Towards the back, there's where you can order a meal. There is a kiosk to make your order and pay. The lady behind the food counter was very nice. They have a beautiful dining area. It's very clean as well. I liked their pizza oven. It was a hot day out. The guy making pizza must have been melting! ;) Overall, a nice place for a quick bite! read more

01.24.2026 - RUMI'S OASIS, ELK GROVE, CA - I was craving Boba drinks after eating won ton soup today. I was ready to go to the nearby Boba spot here in Elk Grove but a couple of doors down was this gem. It appears middle eastern grocery store with a deli that sells gyro dishes and a bakery. I purchased their Pistachio drink and as for baked goods: Dubai Fudge Cheese cake and a simple Baklava. PISTACHIO MILKSHAKE - it has bits of pistachio on the top. It tasted very delicious and different for my palate. It was delicious. DUBAI CHEESECAKE - the first layer tasted like a fudge like chocolate cheese cake, another layer of chocolate cake and not quite sure if there's ganache. It was also delicious topped with a green type icing that tasted like pistachio. PLAIN BAKLAVA - this was very delicious topped- it had a creamy flavor to it and the flaky layers of the phyllo. Wow so good. I would buy more next time. I did browse around the store and looked as if most of their products are from Lebanon. So good! I love it here. read more

The reason for the low rating is that it took them 15 min for our drinks and pastries and they didn't even give them all I asked. Didn't even realize Rumi's was located here. Wow is it good. I only ordered chicken Sambosa's since it was an unexpected stop. But they are great. They had some baked goods. While I was there they were preparing party platters of chicken, bread, roasted vegetables and kabob. They had lots of snack items. The service was great. The you g man greeted me and as I was there many other customers came in and were quickly greeted. There was a gentleman cleaning the meat/butcher area. There was no meat. I asked why there was no meat. He said today is cleaning day. Well that is good to hear that a halal butcher takes days off to clean. Nice little bakery cafe. Locally owned and operated is the best businesses to patronize. When it is time for a meal or a quick snack. You are better off finding a local business and getting real food. OMG came to check this place out cause we saw it on social media. It's a store but a restaurant inside. Has the lamb and beef brown and the sandwich. The meat was so tender and juicy. This is the 2nd bad experience here. The 1st, we kept waiting and waiting for our food and it never came. When I went to ask, the cook said the lady forgot to tell the cooks about the order so we just had a pastry. 2nd visit, no one helped us. A woman was on the phone so we went to order at the kiosk. Nice ambience for a midday dessert or meal on the go. The place is a middle eastern grocery with an oasis-like feel. You can have a piece of a sweet treat such as baklava or chocolate cake while out shopping. The tables area is quite pleasant for enjoying with a friend or a book. This is quite a decorating/furnishing accomplishment in what would be an unremarkable strip mall space. (They definitely made it "more.") It's nice that this is local. Elk Grove getting cool places like this is a good sign. I needn't have to go to Midtown Sac for nice spots like this. read more

Since opening a few years ago, I have gone in a few times. Service is consistently a miss, the staff is not confident in the answers they give. The fix is training and that would most likely require the owner to be accountable themselves. Consistency is important, this particular time I went in for a Dubai donut at 9am and they did not have it, also stated the lady that makes them is not there yet and might be available at 11am. I can't work with a might ! I am also not willing to drive back. The store is clean and stocked pretty well. I am over this store and the not good customer service and items missing from the menu almost every visit. I believe my review is echoed by many other Yelpers. Had food here shortly after they opened. Was ok but have never been back. My husband is Turkish so we are often on the look out for Turkish grocery products. We usually go to Adam's market for items but every once an a while I walk in to look for common products we are in need of. EVERY time I have come in I have been ignored and not helped when I am clearly waiting to check out or asking for a product in a case. Thought I would Give them one last try. I was again ignored and finally found an employee to get me a meat product from the case. They then old me every single sausage product ( about 15) were expired and they couldn't sell it to me! I went to order the lamp shank, and as I was waiting for it, I was looking at the desert in display, and I noticed a lot of mold on the desert, and I looked around the place did not look clean and I was hoping before I get the food and praying that I will not get food poisoning and I hope that my food was clean. There was not a lot of people that day. It was a Saturday afternoon, there was a lot of tables that were not clean. There was only one person that I saw that was helping me. He helped me also buy some fruits, but there was no one else to help . The place was dirty, and there was not a lot of people cleaning and he was the one who took my money so I hope he washed his hand after cooking. So I won't be coming back here for a while. Hello everyone, Two days ago, I drove two hours from the Bay Area to purchase 21 lbs of fresh cow meat from this restaurant. I had called ahead, and they confirmed they had it in stock. However, when I arrived and asked for the 21 lbs of cow meat, the worker cut the meat other side of the table and started providing unclear and unhelpful responses. After much back and forth, I was given just 21 LB of meat, which was mostly bone. I was extremely disappointed with the poor customer service and the misleading experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's a waste of time, and the owner's attitude was unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. read more

So excited that I stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant! Clearly family run with some of the nicest people working here. We put our order in, and the food came out beautifully plated and EVERYTHING was amazing and delicious. The butter chicken was heavenly. Perfectly cooked with an amazing sauce that did not break AT ALL. It stayed its lovely creamy consistency the entire time. Fries cooked and seasoned so well I proclaimed they were the best fries I've ever had in my life. We also got hummus, flatbread and mixed veggies on the house! They make everything in house right down to the butter. The restaurant and deli are beautifully decorated with soft lighting and pretty paintings and plants. The staff came and checked on us multiple times and we had nothing but rave reviews the whole time. Do yourself a favor, and start a nice afternoon of shopping at this amazing spot. Rumi's Oasis is a beautiful middle eastern shop located in the same plaza as Daiso, Happy Lemon, and Trader Joe's. You can smell the combination of warm spices just outside the door and it's very welcoming and enticing. My sister and I went to go try their viral dubai chocolate bars that they make in house. After searching long and far to find this bar everywhere in Elk Grove, we were able to find it with the helpful guidance of the staff at the front of the store. They are located at the back of the store with the pastries. There are two options: milk and dark chocolate. As a milk chocoholic, I knew I had to try the milk. For about $8, you get a pretty small bar, but I guess that's just how business is nowadays. The chocolate was great, but I felt like something in there tasted off. I think the thin packaging absorbed the other tastes and smells from the other desserts in the case. I would recommend the owners to consider a more seal proof packaging to maintain the flavors. I knocked down 2 stars specifically for the price/size and thin packaging affecting the taste. Trying the chocolate bar here was great to see what the hype was about without going too far from home! read more

It's very quiet with light music. Their seating area is very nice and separated with 4-5 tables. It isn't cold like a grocery store. I went in to buy a few things at the store. It was my first time there. I ended up buying a hot chocolate, pita, a large container of hummus, and several pastries. The pita I purchased looked completely normal from the front. I tried to have some pita the following day, but the bag was molded. The front looks normal, but whoever packaged the pita put the molded parts on the back. See the image attached. I contacted the store to get help with this because they sold me moldy pita. I have no idea if they removed the rest of the pita in the store that was molded. The bag had no exp. date and no date created on it, so it's unclear how they keep track of which bags are expired or near expiration. The store never got back to me. I wasn't rude. I didn't yell, no bad words, etc. I just reported it and they just didn't care. read more

The owner (I assume), brought us a complimentary appetizer to try while we were waiting, which more than made up for the wait. It was something I wouldn't normally order, but I definitely will now! The food is so fresh and flavorful. My husband and I order takeout every Friday from another establishment. Yesterday, he wanted to pickup food close to our house; and I said, "let's try that Rumi's again." I ordered a beef/lamb bowl with no rice and sub the pickled onion for fresh. We also ordered the Mediterranean nachos (second time) and a gyro. There was a little miscommunication and I ended up with just meat and onions in a bowl. When I called to let them know I expected a salad, the lovely lady (Linna) not only said she would re-make it how I wanted it, but also stated she was getting ready to go home and would GLADLY DROP IT OFF TO ME!!! Seriously!!! I couldn't believe it. I've not experienced such thoughtful customer service in a very long time. So we stayed in our jammies and kept sipping our adult beverages as my perfect salad bowl arrived as promised. We'll be regular customers now, for as long as they're in business. When you walk in it smells AMAZING and it made me so hungry so I decided to see what they had to offer. This little shop is basically a traditional supermarket that has all you need when it comes to snacks, spices, yogurt and more with a bakery, butcher, and a food corner with seating. Ordered at the kiosk they had by the bakery to get some half potato and half leek bolani, hummus with pita bread, and a lamb/gyro bowl. They offer drinks on the kiosk but pastries you would have to order directly from one of the staff in the bakery. The wait time for the food was long but I think it was due to limited staff and when I got my order the food was literally straight up fresh from the stove, oven, or whatever they use to make the food. I've had a lil more flavorful lamb/gyro bowls from other places but i think it came down to too much rice or just not enough pickled onions? That's just my personal preference I think and will adjust for next time and would definitely come back to try out the drinks, pastries, and for sure order the bolani again with extra extra sauces because 2 was definitely not enough for a large order.
