We tried this place when we were in the area and the food was so good that we forgot to take any pictures. We ordered chole kulche, which had butter drizzled at the top with pickle and chutney served on the side making it really delicious. We also ordered dahi papdi chaat and we liked it. For the kids we ordered masala dosa with masala on the side. I tasted the sambar and aloo and it was delicious. Staff is friendly and they told us that dosa will take 20 mins when we placed the order. I appreciate the honesty. And my younger one was very hungry so they gave me a plain puri of pani puri, which definitely helped :) Place is clean and it had a welcoming atmosphere to dine peacefully. This place had really good reviews, so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. First thing I noticed walking in was how clean and organized everything was. It's not a huge place, but it feels welcoming and comfortable, like a small family-run business where they actually care about customers. The guy who helped me said his name was Shan (hope I got that right), and he had an Om tattoo on his hand. He was super friendly, patient, and welcoming from the start, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. Service was quick and my food came out hot and fresh always a big plus when you're on the road and hungry. I ordered pani puri and Amritsari kulcha. The pani puri had great flavor tangy, refreshing, and really satisfying. The kulcha was honestly the highlight: soft, well stuffed, cooked perfectly, and tasted fresh and authentic. You could tell it wasn't rushed or reheated. Before leaving I also grabbed some sweets to go and tried a milkcake . Everything was really good, but the milk cake especially stood out rich, soft, and perfectly sweet without being too heavy. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. The price was super reasonable as the portion size was very large. Overall, really solid experience good food, great service, clean place, and a nice vibe. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is just because I personally save that last star for places that completely blow me away but this one comes very close. We came across this place only because the restaurant next door was closed. We decided, why not check it out? I love Indian food! When we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice girl who was very helpful. She explained the different sweets and dishes since we had a few questions and were curious about what they offered. The burfee and chamcham were so delicious and I loved how many different flavors they had. If there was a minus one star, I would give it to this restaurant. My sister took me there. They gave us a seat next to the garbage can. While we were eating, the small bugs kept flying on our table. Then they charged us $4.00 for a little sambar, because the samber quantity with the dosa was so little, we had to ask for more. Then they charged us extra for the chutney. We were already frustrated because of the bugs, told the manger that we are not very pleased with your customer service. I was surprised when I opened the bag because the samosas were bigger than I thought, almost the size of a baseball!! Inside it were potatoes, peas, and paneer. It was so delicious with the chutneys as well. At the store, there were a wide variety of desserts and they even had freshly juiced oranges, carrots, and pineapple! It's hard to tell this is actually a restaurant based off of the name, but we were next door and noticed their photos of meals on their windows so we stopped in to grab some takeout. When you walk in there is a whole case of all types of really pretty Indian desserts! The menu is down at the end of the counter. We ordered two butter chicken rice bowls and naan to go. I thought it was odd that they didn't have us pay until it was done. But while we were waiting I asked to pay already, so that we could just go when the food was ready. It was hot and stuffy inside and there is barely room to wait in there unless you're going to take up a table for dine-in guests. The chef had brought it over to me when it was ready though which was nice because it was difficult for me to get over to the counter with a stroller since the aisles are very narrow. Portion was kinda small, it's best for lunch or a small meal, but at least it was under $10. I only had about 5 chunks of meat in mine. The sauce and flavor was good though and not too spicy. The naan is a very large portion and you get two pieces, but it's also on the thin side and not as fluffy as I would like. The food is awesome. It's some of the best indian food out there in the sacramento region and the fact it isn't super bust saddens me. Wow this place is such a hidden gem! While only being open for 3 months I really hope this place does really well with its future here. Such a large selection of delectable sweet treats I didn't even know where to start! The gentleman behind the counter was so sweet and helpful while helping us select some treats we've never seen or heard of before. I'm a big fan of this place because of their fish, pakora and samosas. They've got some of the best fish pakora's I've ever tasted! My kids are huge fans too. I got the tandoori malai tikka, and it was good enough that I came back a few days later and am getting it again. We've had paneer dosa, which is akin to a large crepe filled with curried paneer cheese, and the chicken Kathi roll, both excellent.
