Please please PLEASEE visit here!!! The service is phenomenal. I believe the shop is ran by a lady and she seems to be one of the few people if not, usually the only person working there. She's so kind and you can tell she has genuine care for her customers and her food. The food is delicious! Every time I mention this place to someone, they always chime in with how delicious the chili wontons are! The food is super flavorful and affordable! They also do party trays which is great! The store gives off the early 2000s boba shop style but don't be fooled. They have much more than just your trypical sweet treats. They have a great selection of hot and cold chinese desserts which I love, especially now that the only other place that offers similar desserts in the area closed down. Please come try it! I wanted something sweet & saw this place had some good reviews so stopped in. Super friendly lady I think she's the owner. I couldn't decide what to order but a customer stopped in to pick up her order and the lady said it was a very popular order. It was the grass jelly with mango & palm toddy. It was ok. We came on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy as there was a big party in front of us. There were only two employees working, but they were very fast. We even had a chance to try out their ice cream flavors. We got the sago with fresh mango and ice cream for $10.50. They even gave us a bigger scoop of ice cream as we were waiting a bit longer than usual. It came out in a 32 oz container and could feed 3-4 people. It was so delicious and fresh. You can get them by scoop, sundae and even in a egg puff cone, which looked popular. I go for the Gunthers 50/50 as it always hits the spot. They have boba milk teas, and a bunch of other drinks, cold Asian dessert like sage and grass jelly, and hot dessert like sesame balls. They also offer dumplings and wontons, I tried the spicy wontons and they were pretty standard and the actual wonton could use more seasoning as it was all hot oil flavor. Ice Dream is such a hidden gem. I'm so glad I found this spot through Yelp. It's tucked inside the Laguna Village Shopping Plaza, right between Cafe La Vies and Subway. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but that also means parking is a breeze, which I appreciated. When I walked in, I was greeted right away, and even though I took a while to decide, the girl working the counter was super patient and kind, which I really appreciated. Initially I thought I was just coming here for ice cream, but I quickly realized they offer so much more. From mango sticky rice and sago variations to dumplings and wontons, they've got a wide range of Asian-inspired desserts and savory dishes. I ended up getting: - Egg Puff Ice Cream Cone with Oreo Cookie ice cream ($10.95) The egg puff cone itself was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. I also loved that it's served as a bouquet. The presentation is fun and cute. Also the fresh-cut bananas and strawberries added the perfect touch of sweetness and balance to the cone. Without them, this probably would've felt a little too heavy for me. They get major brownie points for using Gunther's Ice Cream and fruit freezes, I loved seeing a local favorite featured here. Inside, there's plenty of seating and a few picture-worthy walls that would be perfect for an ice cream moment. There were a few tables with semi High chairs .I ordered both the chicken and the pork and century egg congee because I had food poisoning earlier this week and it was all I was craving! Right after I ordered 3 parties walked in and it got a little busy, which after I tasted everything I understood why! The Lemon tea was gifted to me while I waited for the congee ( probably 10 minutes max at that point) and it was so refreshing! She said it was her favorite and it was sweetened naturally! This is a cute little spot to grab some ice cream (Gunther's) and Asian treats and appetizers. We stopped by on a weekend afternoon, and the ladies helping us were so kind. They let us try some different flavors of ice cream. My little girl wanted boba only (no drink), and they were so kind to charge us a small amount only for the topping and not the entire drink, which would have been a waste for us. I truly appreciate it when businesses accommodate our unusual request for boba only. I selected the sago with grass jelly in coconut milk, which came in a reusable plastic container and lid, even though we were eating in. My boyfriend ordered the banana split with cookie dough, green tea, and birthday cake ice cream. I ordered the egg puff with condensed milk and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. They do have the option to order the egg puff cone with 1 scoop of ice cream + bananas/strawberry, but since I requested to have the items packed separately, I was charged separately for items. My husband ordered the black sticky rice with mango - it was great as well. The mango was fresh. They also have food such as wontons with hot oil and congee - I have yet to try these. Employees seemed like they hated working there while the manager/boss/older lady ordered them around. Gives me PTSD when I used to work at my job. I don't blame them though - I'd hate my job too if I had that type of management/micromanaging. Younger employees were nice and polite. However, they seemed very stressed. Service was quite slow. They seemed very unorganized. I ordered the red bean sago hot soup and it was very mid. Beans were very bitter and soup wasn't sweet enough. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I've tried the grass jelly mango dessert because I LOVE grass jelly, but I was not able to try it fresh because I was waiting to enjoy it with my family, so I will withhold judgement.
