We mess this place up. The best BBQ that I have had in a long time. Will be going back. And hopefully I can get a pic before it eaten all.

Great place as you can see we F *** it up. People were friendly and looked like they like working.

Craving bbq so went to MacQue's as I wasn't feeling like cleaning my grill and bbq'ing Lol I've been to MacQue's several times before. It's located in a small shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking. It is tidy and clean inside with lots of dining tables. There are a few TVs tuned to different sports channels so you can check on game and team scores while you grub. I ordered my usual three way (the meal - get your mind out of the gutter, although nevermind Lmao) This visit I got the brisket, Louisiana hot link and boneless chicken breast. For the 2 sides, I got baked beans and potato salad. Also served with a roll. Food was delicious! Baked beans and potato salad were tasty. The brisket and hot link were very good although the boneless chicken breast was kinda dry until I poured more 50/50 bbq sauce on it. I typically and should've got pork ribs. I could've used more bbq sauce though but they charge extra for it. Service was good too. Boss lady was there and noticed I did not have utensils at my table. I was gonna take it to go but decided to eat there and that's when she noticed before I could ask and was very nice to grab utensils and napkins and brought it to me. That extra effort from her earned another star to 4 stars. Not quite 5 stars due to deduction for the dry boneless chicken and charge for extra bbq sauce. In my opinion, when a customer orders the three way or four way meal, extra bbq sauce should be given by default at no cost as there is lots of meat and protein! Will be back again.

There meat plate with western beans and heavenly Mac and cheese. Brisket, pork ribs, and hot link.

Great Mac and cheese. One of the best in the area for sure. Western beans were spicy and delicious. The 50/50 sauce was the way to go. Good amount of spice that elevates the meat. For meats I had the briskets, hot link, and pork ribs. The pork was the winner. While the brisket was tasty it was a bit dry. The hot link was not too spicy but I would Duffey get that again. The pork was tender and perfectly cooked. Will be back. Highlight bbq place in our area.

    4-way with an extra side.

Food was just mid. Ordered the 4-way to split with my hubs - Tri-tip, pulled pork, brisket, chicken. Sides were Mac n cheese, green beans, and potato salad. Smelled amazing as we walked in. Seemed to be relatively busy. Best meat was the chicken. Brisket wasn't as tender as expected. Both it and the Tri-tip had a nice smoke ring. Don't feel like portions were overly large.

I'd give this place a mixed review. First, the positives--staff to customer interaction was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Easily a 5-star experience on the service side. Unfortunately, the food didn't match that level. I'd rate it around a 3. The tri-tip was chewy and lacked tenderness. The corn seemed like it was poured straight out of a can, water and all, with no real flavor or preparation. The Louisiana sausage was underwhelming--honestly, I've had better from Safeway. Even the cornbread was dry and disappointing. Considering the price and portion sizes, it just didn't feel worth it. There's definitely potential here because the service is strong, but they really need to step up the food quality if they want to keep customers coming back and stay competitive long-term.

Two way plate with brisket and tri tip with 50/50 sauce. Two sides: baked beans & mac n cheese with roll.

Update review 9/18/25 just for their Pork Ribs = 4.6: wife had a terrible day at work so I decided to get her some brisket but ended up ordering the "two-way" with brisket & pork ribs and 2 sides of their baked beans (which is solid since day one). The ribs were nice and tender and need NO sauce since the ribs were seasoned perfectly! I can't says anything about the brisket but did put a smile on my wife's face. BTW, have been back here since my last review but probably didnt move me enough to update my review until now.

Pretty good bbq spot. Family owned and located in Elk Grove. I've tried pretty much their entire menu, from the brisket, tri-tip, pulled pork, links, and chicken. Generous portion sizes and the customer service here is good. If I am having a party, this may be a spot to order from for catering.

Although Mother's Day is supposed to be all about your mom, I was secretly jumping for joy when my mom suggested that we order BBQ (one of my favorites). I was even more excited when she mentioned that she wanted BBQ from MacQue's. As a little backstory, MacQue's has always held a special place in my heart. Back when the restaurant was located on Power Inn road, I would frequent the establishment to order a hot link sandwich generally in between classes when I was going to Consumnes River College (early 2000s). Since I'm a creature of habit, I was tempted to order a hot link sandwich for good time sake. However, I decided to take a walk on the wild side and try something new. Being that it was Mother's Day and we placed our orders late into the day, they were sold out of trip-tip and a few other items. Therefore, I was forced to order something that I wouldn't normally order, but turned out to be delicious...a hot link sandwich with brisket! The sandwich with the already applied 50/50 sauce was good; however, when I applied the small cup of hot BBQ sauce to the sandwich, it truly came alive (flavorful)! Similar to my experience back in the days at the old location, the customer service was great and I treated like a cousin supporting family business. I will definitely make a return visit in the near future (early in the day to ensure that inventory is intact) to try their tri-tip sandwich!

Once I found the place, the brisket and links was heck of dried & no seasoning at all. The ribs were tender! The sauce was a little sweet for me. The potato salad was okay and the mac & cheese was good. Not someplace I will return back too. The clerk was talking with the staff & I was trying to asked questions- he just keep talking to other people. That was not cool.

Quick service and cute spot! The food was soo good. Haven't had bbq in a while and this place had everything. We ordered a little bit of everything to try the different meats. The portions were enough for 2!

Ribs were dry & overcooked. Beans were fabulous and Mac & cheese was good but ribs were bad. Won't go there again.

Is MacQue's still open in EG? They used to have a good Instagram presence, but they abruptly stopped posting after Thanksgiving. Their phone goes straight to voicemail.

Yes MacQues is still open in EG. We had lunch there last weekend.

Is this a pet-friendly place with an outdoor sitting area?

They have out door seating , I don't know if they allowed dogs.

    What days are they open?

I ordered a mini Loco Moco, Lumpia, and Spam Musubi. Little bit of my favorites to try. Loco moco has a good taste. Gravy and egg cooked to perfection. The macaroni was moist....not like clumpy and dry at other places. Spam Musubi comes fully wrapped in seaweed. Taste of it was very good. Nothing fancy on the Musubi........Very good for nothing fancy:) The service when ordering was pleasant and an easy transaction. The only downside is that the parking and general traffic can be horrible. There's a busy restaurant with a drive thru that's brings in a lot of cars and people. Be careful of other people/cars. I almost got hit! The other downside.....they have a water jug for people with small cups and water was room temp. Yes, it's free water but having a cold cup available would have been great. When we arrived, I opened the door and thought there was no seating since all I saw was the counter to order food. But there's a few tables that sit mostly two or four people, which gave that hole-in-the-wall vibe. So that was also a sign for us to stay and dine-in. We ordered the BBQ mix (w/brown rice & salad) and the Seafood & BBQ combo with all rice. The young woman working the counter was kind and brought our order to our table, even though everything was packed in "to-go" containers. All the meat was served hot and the seafood fried & crispy. The piece of fish that was in my combo was lightly battered and seasoned which did not require any sauce (the highlight of my dinner). The shrimp tasted like from a packaged product, but it was fried to perfection and not greasy. The BBQ beef was thinly sliced and overly marinated since I can still taste the saltiness from the marinade even drinking several glasses of water after dinner. Oh and the nice young woman working kept checking in on us throughout our meal. And I will need to come back and try the other food on their menu to hopefully provide a more insightful review.
