We had the smokehouse platter, which was excellent. It was our first time at Brody's certainly won't be our last. The ambience is so great. They're seating inside or outside. It's it's cute. It's inviting it's welcoming. The customer service was excellent you order at the counter and they bring your food and all of your utensils to you. The manager checked on us twice we let her know it was our first time she offered us some free cornbread, which was so not to be missed. And the food I can tell you that someone knows their way around a smoker here. While it was our first time there were already planning a return visit. 10 out of 10 recommend!
I came in yesterday for the first time and had a great experience. We ordered the $69.99 plate that had pulled pork, 2 sausage links, ribs, tri tip and 2 sides. We also added 2 additional, a chocolate chip cookie and pecan pie. Unfortunately, brisket is a weekend meat only. Everything was delicious however, the tri tip was a bit rough.
The only reason why this place is not getting a 1 star is because the ambiance there is nice and family friendly. Decent amount of parking space. But we order the platter, half the chicken, half the ribs order and the waffle fries. The only good thing we all liked was the tri-tip and the waffle fries with pulled pork and cheese. Pork ribs pretty under cooked and the chicken was severely under cooked. So we couldn't eat those 2 items. Can't say much about service because they just serve you and leave. Flavor is quite bland to us and my son eats almost anything and he did not like the bbq there. Homemade bbq sauce was very good tho but we didn't wanna drench our food with it.
I had lunch with my mom at Brody's today. We both got the tri tip omelet sans peppers. The meal came with country potatoes and toast. We both opted for the crisscross cut fries. The meal was really good. We would go here again. There's plenty of parking outside with indoor and outdoor dining. You walk in and order, pay then find yourself a table. Silverware, napkins, water, spicy and regular BBQ sauces, and salt and pepper are located in the entry way. Grab what you need then head to your seats. Food arrived within a reasonable time, fresh and hot. I really enjoyed the omelet and potatoes. Toast looked fine but didn't eat it.
Did not know that Sac county had a good bbq spot! Right off of I-5! So i'm glad a friend recommended that we try it. We decided to share the smokehouse platter that comes with a 1/2 rack of pork ribs, 1/2lbs of pulled pork and trip tip, two smoked sausages, and two sides! I would say that this can feed 3 people. I feel like the tri tip lacked flavor, but there isn't much you can do with tri tip. I would have also liked more bbq on the pork ribs, but their house sauce was a great addition. My favorite piece was the sausages! So juicy and flavorful! I would come back just for that! Overall really good service, on the pricier end pretty good bbq option in Sac!
We were looking for breakfast on our way from Lathrop to butte for a football game. This was a great pick and we will surely be adding it to our must stops when in the area. Not only was the customer service great and friendly but the atmosphere was fantastic too! I'm still dreaming about the smells and the trip tip!
Service - you order, get a number, and then find a seat. So I can't really comment on service. Food - 2 stars We arrived on a Saturday at 1pm Saturday they offer a special brisket sandwich, so we ordered two. We also got extra sides. Most of the food tasted really good. Sadly the sandwich was a disguise to serve us fat with a sliver of meat. There were about 3 slices of brisket in the sandwich, and each piece was about 85% fat. Not marble, more like pork belly. It was pretty gross. I ended up eating just the sides and picking off the 15% of meat. Mac was pretty good Cornbread also good Greens were tasty Brisket - NOPE! We will try it again, but next time I will not be getting the Saturday special.
Fantastic BBQ place located on Freeport Blvd next to the river close to Consumnes River Blvd. When you first enter, there is the counter for placing your order, then you can take your choice from the plentiful indoor or outdoor seating in a rustic decor. I ordered the sausage(hot links), mac n cheese, collard greens and a Root beer, took my number and grabbed a seat (there is a nice selection of beers , but I was looking forward to the root beer ) Counter person was pleasant in taking my order. In short order my food was brought. Sausage was nicely sliced and had great flavor and just enough heat not to make me regret my choice. Collard greens were rich in flavor , with some broth and meat to accentuate the flavor. Macaroni and cheese was firm noodled, rich in creamy cheesiness. I also got some Tri Tip to bring home, it was a little on the peppery side but with the BBQ sauce, very tasty? Prices are good for this quality of BBQ, the service is excellent (staff walking by hellful in getting refills or to go boxes) Great option of your looking for BBQ in the South Sac area
Really good pulled pork and Mac and cheese. Ribs were good. Will definitely order these again if we are back in the area. Liked their original bbq sauce, sweet with a hint of smokiness. Had an awesome outdoor seating area. Great staff, there were super helpful and friendly. I definitely want to try their pulled pork fries next time. Things I would pass on next time are the tri tip. It was really dry and extremely peppery and I don't mind pepper at all, it was just a bit much. Noticed a lot of ppl like their tri tip. Maybe I just go a dry batch. Not sure, but I wasn't a huge fan. The sausage was simple with decent flavor. Everything tasted good when you added the bbq sauce to it. Cornbread was extremely crumbly. As soon as you cut into it just fell apart, but don't get me wrong it tasted really good. Overall a decent place.
A solid restaurant in Freeport catering to a very wide audience of old school diners as well as newer age modernists. The vibes are very homey and somewhat eclectic but uncluttered. Overall, the food is good but not amazing. Compared to some of our Sacramento staples, Tank House, Urban Roots, Buckhorn, this place doesn't really meet the mark. I would say the offerings are not particularly unique, but the executions are. The beans and potato salad were a bit unusual and were a bit visually unappealing, flavor-wise fine. I think of all the meats, the pork was the best. Ribs and pulled pork were cooked well. The tri tip had good flavor but tougher texture. Chicken was fine. The hot links were also fine. I think the corn bread was great, but not particularly special. The butter it came with was a bit fruity which was a nice surprise. The prices are pretty average for BBQ, which I would expect. They seem to sell out of things often, so make sure you come early to ensure you get what you want. Lots of places to sit, indoors and outdoors, and plenty of parking as well. The staff is very helpful and nice. Shout out to Samira and Jenny in particular. We had a large party that they catered. While there was a mix-up with an extra rack of ribs, they were very gracious in trying to make it up for us.
Lemon Pepper Wings (4/5): Exceptionally seasoned, crispy, and succulent. Sausage (3/5): Flavorful, but lacking the desired snap and a robust, meaty texture. Beef Dino Rib (3.8/5): Wonderfully flavorful and moist, though lacking the ultimate level of tenderness. Mac N Cheese (3.75/5): Tasty and well-made, but could benefit from a more dominant cheese profile. Drinks (4.5/5): Visually stunning and delightfully potent. Service 4/5: Attentive when restaurant was busy Ambiance 5/5: Shaded, good family vibes, great outdoor patio
My daughter and I stopped by to have a quick bite to eat before meeting up with family for some wine and games. Awesome place very friendly and such a cute setup. My family members who live in the area love coming here. Glad we stoped by to try it out. Whenever we are in the area will definitely be back.
Came here after a wedding as an intermediate stop. We had a drink and since we were going to the reception next. We didnt get to try their food, but it did smell really good. The place inside is abut small for the var, but still good for a few small groups. What is awesome about it, is the outside seating. Its great and super spacious. It seems you can play games and also be away from the main busy areas within sac. Would highly recommend going. They also have very clean restrooms with a shared sink area to wash your hands. So even if you dont need to use it, you can quickly wash your hands. Also the pricing seem fair for the drinks and food. So its a good date night, hangout night, or just catch a drink and some food alone.

Deep fried pickles and $5.00 beers. If that doesn't get you interested in Brody's restaurant, there's so much more! They have pulled pork sandwiches, wings, smoked sausages, trip tip, chicken, brugers, salads, and more! There's live music on Friday's, corn hole, great service, a friendly vibe, and a good selection of wine and beer. It's located off Freeport Boulevard, in Freeport, right next to the river. There's plenty of parking and plenty to fill your belly, and warm your soul. read more

On the way back home, I came across this place while looking for a spot to eat. I'm glad to have been able to try this place out because it was pretty damn good. I got a Tri-Tip sandwich with mac & cheese, everything tasted great. The service was fast and friendly and the outdoor patio had a relaxing vibe. Great for people with pets. It was our first time here and had a great experience. We came here for lunch. There is indoor and outdoor seatings hiwever we sat indoors due to our allergies. The restaurant offers delicious, flavorful, and tender smoked meats, especially the tri-tip, ribs, and brisket, along with tasty sides like mac and cheese and cornbread. We ordered first before sitting down. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was welcoming and had spacious outdoor seating, which is great for families. I believe there are outdoor events. read more

We stopped by here for dinner on a weeknight. Both parking in the front and overflow parking were filled. Luckily, there was one spot for us right in the front. Counter service. Place an order at the counter and grab your own seat. There are indoor and outdoor seating. Self serve water and condiments station. I decided on tri-tip sandwich no cheese and waffle fries. Tri-tip was a bit dry and they didn't put enough bbq sauce. The waffle fries was the best of the night. Side salad was nothing special. My bf and his friends got the smokehouse platter and beef rib. Customer service was great. Parking can be packed and tight. read more

Hi there, thank you so much for the kind words! We're thrilled you…
Came by for brunch on a Sunday around 11am and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too busy yet. They do have outdoor seating, which looked nice, but it was a bit too cold for us to enjoy that option. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away by a young staff member who was super friendly and welcoming. He asked if it was our first time (it was), gave us a quick rundown of how things work, and pointed us toward grabbing a menu and finding a table. The ordering setup is more of a walk up style, which personally isn't my favorite for a sit down brunch. I usually prefer to just settle in and be served but it didn't take away from the overall experience. The food is really what made this place stand out. I ordered the Birdie Sandwich and it was packed with flavor! the egg was cooked perfectly and everything just came together so well. It came with potatoes that were crispy and well seasoned, plus a small salad with a dressing that was honestly so good. We also tried the fried pickles, which were solid, especially with their ranch (it reminded me of that dill style dip from La Bou). The French toast was definitely on the sweeter side but really delicious and my daughters loved it. My husband ordered the tri tip omelette and enjoyed it as well. I also liked that they offer a "2 sides" option, which is a great deal. I went with waffle fries (super crispy) and a Caesar salad that was light and fresh. The Vietnamese coffee was spot on too. strong and perfectly balanced. The only thing that fell short for me was the beef rib we got to go. For the price, the portion felt pretty small compared to other local spots. That said, everything else we tried was really good and the service especially from that same staff member was attentive and genuinely kind. Overall, I'd definitely come back, just probably skip the rib next time. read more

Second time here love the outdoor seating area options. There are 3 spots to choose from when you order your food at the counter. First time I came I got the pulled pork waffle fries. I could have done without the cheese on the waffle fries but the pulled pork was spot on. The other we came for breakfast and I got the breakfast omelette and it was amazing. Perfect balance of all flavors. Not too heavy not too sweet or not too salty. One of favorite places. Happy hour is 3-6pm and $5 beers and 2-3$ off certain items in the menu. read more

Second visit, and somehow it was even better than the first! That's when you know you've found a truly special place. The restaurant was absolutely packed, and Adi, Jill (with a G!), and Eric were getting their asses handed to them, but you never would have known it from the way they treated every guest. Even with the nonstop rush, the service was phenomenal, they kept smiling, and they still made us feel like family. This time we tried the candied bacon, Texas Twinkies, carnitas tacos, and the BBQ chicken sandwich with cowboy beans. Every single bite was incredible. The flavors were outstanding, the portions were generous, and it's obvious they take pride in what they serve. Amazing food, amazing people, and an atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Two visits in, and this place has officially become our favorite spot. We can't wait for visit number three! read more

Came here to get a couple of Happy Hour drinks before I head out to dinner. I want to stress it started to get busy. I was next in line at the bar. Bartender named Rebecca per the receipt directed another staff member to take my order, that person disappeared. It appeared the Rebecca was done with customer and I asked a question. She scolded me and said I will finish with them then u, while sarcastically gesturing both hands at me. I ordered two drinks to be efficient so I dont have to order again. She said I can come back when I am done with first one. She said she would bring my drink outside. Waited about 10 minutes and it did not come. I walked into bar, drink was made and sitting on back counter she handed it to me. I went outside to drink it and decided to go in to get my second drink. I asked for my drink, she seemed annoyed, made eye contact and did not acknowledge me. She made at least 10 cocktails while I was waiting. A person even walked in to bar and ordered two drinks and she made them immediately, she was so sweet to that person it was obvious she knew her. I grew impatient watching her make other drinks and I asked for a refund. She said my drink is next but willing to give me refund. I have been sitting another 10 minutes at bar. I then asked her how come there is no bacon in my Bloody Mary. She said happy hour does not get bacon. I have been here before for happy hour and there is always a big piece of bacon. Passive aggressive behavior. Obviously she was overwhelmed, but don't take it out on me. Maybe Rebecca cannot handle rush hour, have another bartender during this time I rated this place a 4 before but not today. This is my fourth time here and always had good customer service. Would rate zero if I could. read more

This is such a great place!! You immediately smell BBQ as soon as you get out of your car. So many great choices... burgers, sandwiches, salads...you can also get an order of meat, sausage or chicken and the sides, (cornbread, potato salad, beans...all the usual suspects). Good selection of drinks (alcoholic and non) and dirty sodas. There is also a huge beverage container with ice water. Employees are very kind and helpful. read more

First timer! Came with my friend to check out this place since it was both on our list to try. Place is cute with a lot of outdoors seating. Indoors is limited. Great place to come for a gathering and getting some sun. Staff were wonderful and gave us the details on how it works right when we walked in and checked in on us often too. Ordered the sample platter and it was a lot of food for 2 girls! Surprisingly, the sausage was my favorite. I did wish the ribs were more fall off the bone. The bbq sauce did make everything extra tasty! Did wish I had stomach space for cornbread. I also got a chocolate chip cookie which was perfectly soft with chocolate chunks, the way I like it. read more

Love the happy hour from 3pm to 6pm I believe with some of the food discounted and something available for everyone! I wish the seating was clean / wiped / sanitized more regularly as it felt sticky or food particles left behind on the tables and or chairs inside and outside, but other than that I did enjoy the experience! I would not recommend the dirty sodas as what we received was not how it was described, and rather than checking in to see if it's something we would still like, he made it without letting us know therefore we were not expecting what we received since that's not how it was described to us prior to ordering. The kind gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, patient, and welcoming. He provided us with menus and reminded us he can help us at the counter whenever we are ready. We tried the Mac and cheese, tri tip sandwich, and coleslaw. We look forward to coming back to try more of their food! Also plenty of parking around the corner at their overflow area. Games outside available! Next door is their secret bar SideDoor with bites, foods, games, drinks, and specials! read more

Went here after I saw Instagram reel for a toddler friendly place. It didn't disappoint. Ample amount of space for kiddos to run around, jenga, corn hole and soccer balls. Counter serve style so open seating. It was very busy Saturday but we still got space inside. I got the bbq chicken sandwhich and it was great!. Soft bun that nearly melted in my mouth. The chicken was not shredded rather like slices of bbq chicken which was a nice touch. On weekends they have brisket but were sold out by 515pm. Only complaint is that the food could be warmer. Mac n cheese felt cold. Sandwhich meat also also on the less warm side of things. I will def be back though for vibes, accessibility and ease of dining out Kids eat free Tuesday!!! read more
