Had the house plate which was and is a great deal more than enough for two people . Service was excellent even brought water to our table . House plate comes with everything they offer ribs tri tip and links was the star of the show and will be how i get it next time . Sides were good the best being beans and potato salad . This is a spot for some fall off the bone ribs. Had the 2 meat meal which comes with 3 sides. Got the potato salad, greens and some Mac and cheese for an extra $2 but very much worth it. Also the baked beans are fantastic. So the ribs were seasoned perfectly. They literally fall off the bone and taste amazing. Comes with a side of bbq sauce. Had the hot link and chicken. Both were smoked and excellent. Great place to sit inside or outside. The service is great. Very friendly. Ambiance has the smell of the meat being smoked which is an awesome. I tried this place out for the first time recently. I had the 2 way with Ribs and Chicken. The served a chicken thigh and a drumstick. Both were cooked perfectly. The meat literally falls off the bone. The ribs were served naked with a container of BBQ Sauce on the side. I didn't particularly like the BBQ Sauce. Perhaps it is an acquired taste? Signage: if you don't know where you're going you end up inside a bar and then walk back out to a side patio. It would have been great to skip that step and be directed to the patio to order. Very good barbecue. I waited till they opened on Saturday. The greens, beans and mac and cheese, all great sides. Ribs were very tasty, great sauce, tri-tip and hot links. Not a clinker in the bunch. After seeing all of the social media posts we gave Kaylo's BBQ a try. Service was excellent at this little casual patio dining spot. Everything we tried was delicious. We ordered a half slab of ribs which were meaty and fall off the bone tender no BBQ sauce required. And a two way combo plate with chicken and a link and our side dishes were potato salad, filthy rice and mac n cheese. Everything again was delicious but the chicken was very small and the side dishes were about a 1/2 cup serving so not very much for us to share and being that I was charged extra for the mac and rice I thought the servings would be a little bigger. So, as a rule, I'm not critical of local businesses. After Anthony Bourdain labeled Yelpers the worst kind of people, I really checked myself on what Yelp reviews should be. If you're an a-hole looking for a Michelin experience at a bargain, go somewhere else. But if you're looking for solid bbq, with solid sides, a proprietor who clearly cares about their craft, and a great deal, this is it. I got the works on a day they had run out of tri tip by an hour after opening. Doubled up on chicken, and the chicken and ribs were all done actually perfectly. Not like when people say "to perfection" and you try it and it's not your idea of perfection, but as in all of us can fully agree this is the right level of season, smoke, and moisture. Perfection. The mac and cheese is the pasta/cheddar type, not a creamy one, but not a bad one. The potato salad is a sweetish one with olives, and I enjoy that. The greens weren't salted much, so add a little of your own. But this filthy rice and doctored up beans alone will make me a regular! Will be excited to try these Saturday beef ribs a different day. Ambience would be helped simply by music playing, but, man, nothing like a personal welcome from a hard working man and knowledgeable staff. Bring your good vibes. Love, love, love their food, their attitudes and everything about them! It's rare that you find courtesy as well as delicious food. Tender ribs, and tri-tip to die for. Make sure to try their beans as one of your sides, they're one of my favorites. I can't speak of the ambience because I've never actually been inside. I really wanted to like this place. I been in the search for good BBQ in Sacramento and sadly I'm still searching. My husband and I went as soon as they opened. Although they weren't ready the customer service made us stay they are very friendly and professional so we waited. Menu was kind of confusing they do up-charge for certain sides and I guess meat but their prices are fairly reasonable especially in this market. Now to the food I have to be honest here I'm from the Bay Area and I am 100 percent convinced that people from Sacramento have completely different taste buds than people from the bay. I have been told about so many places to try to go there and be disappointed every time. The plate Ribs- They are beef I wouldn't have gotten them if I knew that. They were very fatty and lacked flavor. I was only able to eat 1 of the 2 Links- Offered Pork so that's what I got they could have been left on the grill a lot longer Baked beans- tasted like pork and beans with hamburger meat onions and bell peppers. I wasn't impressed Mac and cheese- Was good I added some salt and pepper it was the ONLY THING I COMPLETELY FINISHED. Potato salad- was ok I love olives just not in my potato salad Filthy rice- I had one spoonful and I was done with that I thought it was going to be like a dirty rice I was wrong. Greens- too many stalks no flavor at all only had a fork full of it. I gave three stars because they are a black owned family business, they were professional and very friendly. Waited in line for an hour and a half. Came right when they opened and there was a line already out the door. Ordering process seemed a tad slow, they would take a few orders and then fulfill the orders right after, making the next few people in line wait. You need to get here early so you're one of the first ones there. You can see the smoker outside cooking some of the meats as you are waiting. Ordered the 3 way plate and the tri tip plate. This place. How do I sum up my experience at this place? It's located in a depressing, almost totally empty strip mall. Right in front of the place there were 2 or 3 cars that were receiving maintenance. Not the owner of the restaurant's fault but still. The menu is printed on a banner and hangs over the service counter that doesn't look like it could actually pass a health department inspection. The dining area seems appropriate for the type of food being served. There are just 3-4 tables so best to take out if possible. It's attached to a lounge with a big bar, so you may be able to eat in there but not sure about that. We ordered the chicken for one meal and ribs for the other. $18 for 3 bones seems quite expensive. The ribs were good but felt like it wasn't a good value as they were really fatty. Chicken was dry and offered little meat. The sides were also disappointing. The baked beans almost defy description. Swimming in some kind of liquid with ground beef and what seemed like jalapeños which was strange. Potato salad had almost no flavor. However, I will say that the staff was nice and attentive. Pork Ribs were falling off the bone! We'll seasoned and came with bbq sauce. Can't go wrong with potato salad and mac n cheese, both were great sides. I did order a beef rib that I was really looking forward to, however that was definitely not tender like the pork ribs. It was on the tougher side, so I'll have to pass on that. The atmosphere was inviting, it has part the restaurant and part bar This was my first time going here. They suggested the plate that came with 2 pieces of rib 2 pieces chicken which is a leg and a thigh that I received not sure if they offer anything else as far as like a half of a breast and 1 sausage link it also came with 5 sides I will definitely say I would order the ribs again possibly the chicken, but everything seemed really dry like it had been sitting for too long, especially the tri-tip. I'm really funny about my food after it's been sitting for a very long time even the five entrées that come on the side, you could tell everything had been Sitting for a very long time . I will give it one more try and go earlier in a day when I have the availability to show up early. I was very disappointed after all the good reviews that I saw but again I'm not downing on this place because I see so many good reviews. I just think I need to go more earlier in the day and try the food again everybody there seemed really nice and the atmosphere is wonderful. This is a hole beside a hole in the wall. Don't let the ambiance fool you. This is the most delicious barbecue. We got four meats and five sides. Everything we ate was amazing. We had spare ribs, links, tri-tip and chicken. Everything was perfection. Then we had the potato salad, greens, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and dirty rice.
