We thought the food was ok, nothing spectacular. It's something new, especially the boils. We found the menu limited and needlessly confusing. It's not clear what's included in the boils. Unless you order the combo boils ($24 and up) nothing else is included. It's just your shellfish and spices in a plastic bag in a bucket. Potato and corn only come in the more expensive combos. We had a shrimp Po boy - came with some basic uninteresting thin fries but the sandwich was ok. We also had one of their boils with rock crab in garlic butter (special $14). I added a side of sausage to the boil. Expecting potato and corn to be in the boil (see confusion above) left me looking at a crab in a bag with sausage. I would have ordered potato and corn as sides if I knew they were not included. I have no issues eating with my hands. Eating from a plastic bag was not at all appealing and I'm not using their plastic gloves. Plastic utensils for digging crab meat out of a hard crab shell is wrong. To me there's a lack of attention to details. Oysters on the half shell are called out as clams on the menu board. Does anyone proof read their menu? Be clear about the boils having only the shellfish and you'll sell more sides. The decor is from the previous Uno's restaurant which is nice but there's nothing Louisiana about this place. read more

Out of all the times I've visited my sister in Boston, I haven't had mindblowingly good seafood - which is a shame, since Boston has its own harbor. And then I came to Loui Loui! My sister and I came in on a quiet Monday night, and there was barely anyone in there. So when we put in our order (king crab, mussels, oysters, shrimp, garlic noodles, cajun fries), we got it pretty quickly. Pretty much everything is self serve here. You get your own utensils, dipping sauces, bibs, gloves, etc. I especially love how they had gloves available! Some seafood joints don't, and I'm just not the type to like getting my hands dirty. The oysters came out first on an ice plate, and the rest of the seafood came in a bucket, covered in their house spicy sauce. It was SO good. Everything was so fresh too! I was expecting to love the garlic noodles (because I love everything garlic and I love everything noodles) but it was a lot more bland than I expected. There wasn't as much flavor, but if you add the sauce that collects at the bottom of your seafood bucket, it tastes SO much better. Whatever you order though, GET THE CAJUN FRIES. THEY ARE SO GOOD. There's this white tartar sauce-esque (it's probably not tartar sauce but it looks like it and has similar texture) that you can get near the utensils section - DIP YOUR FRIES INTO IT. Thank me later. HUGE shout out to the staff for letting my sister and I eat until after closing and not even saying anything about it. We didn't even realize you guys closed at 10, and we accidentally stayed until 10:30. So thank you so much for being so chill and not kicking us out! read more

I've been to quite a few seafood boils- and this one is amazing!!! I split the 4 choice seafood bag with snow crab legs, king crab legs, mussels, shrimp and got a free lobster!! Louisiana mild was absolutely delicious! The corn and potatoes were soooo good and we discovered that if you mix the garlic noodles directly in the bag it makes them even more delicious. Pleasantly surprised to find a good crawfish place in the south shore. The crawfish was fresh- it made a huge difference. The frozen stuff just doesnt compare. The sauce has a perfect balance of butter, garlic, and spices. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back. read more

This was a very fun dinning experience! The seafood was great! We ordered lobster and clams. Both were outstanding and reasonably priced. I had to go back to order more clams because the sauce they cook them in is outstanding! Their beer selection was adequate and definitely added to the experience! Great concept, totally unexpected for this lily white suburb. Friendly service, great fried oyster po'boys -- the remoulade sauce and breadwere tops in my book. Didn't try the crawfish but will come back when we're wearing a smok. Gumbo special was delicious but could have been served hotter. We just ordered some of the fried food and a half-dozen oysters. Not bad. I liked the lemon pepper french fries and the fried fish especially. I would not recommend the fried clams, which had too much flour and fry per piece. Looking forward to coming back and trying dollar oyster night on Mondays and some of the boiled offerings (although the lobster was quite expensive when we were there, so I probably will be avoiding that). If you are looking for a decent place to get your sea food fix, I'd say Cap't Loui is worth a try. read more

This place USED to be great... but just went back after a while and it's like they took away all the things that made it a great, casual place for affordable, tasty seafood into a sad shell of what it used to be. Gone are the free all-you-can-eat garlic noodles unless you choose it as your free side but it's still not all-u-can-eat; every single seafood item is now "market price" and head-on shrimps were $20+; and you are now waited on by staff which is totally unnecessary when self-serve was just fine before! I can understand the lobster being market price but every single frickin seafood item?? So surprise, you'll never know how much virtually EVERY SINGLE ITEM is from one day to the next. The portions felt smaller, too. Not only did they jack up the prices but they cut the portions as well! Our order of 2 seafood combo + garlic noodle + no drinks came out to almost $60 after taxes & tip when it was almost half that before. My corn tasted spoiled and they brought out a few which tasted slightly better but still wasn't great. They neglected to follow up and asked if the new corn was ok. We used to come here almost every week then less frequently but decided to give them a try again, and it was a total disappointment. read more

My party and I ordered: some sandwiches (chicken po' boy, calamari po' boy, shrimp po' boy), fries (lemon pepper and cajun), and drinks (Sangria and Japanese beer) as well as the cole slaw. The sandwiches were alright- they were deep fried but didn't have much/any flavor. The fries were also relatively bland. Overall, the place is clean and the staff are friendly but the food could be a lot better. The prices are very reasonable, my chicken po' boy sandwich was only $7 and came with fries. I absolutely love going to Loui Loui to fulfill my crawfish cravings. I usually order Combo C. It's 4lbs of yummy goodness. It comes with mussels, clams, shrimps, and crawfish for $43. Unique place to eat. Hubby is on a paleo diet so we ordered 4 seafood which then comes with one additional one for free. So five seafood, and the two of us ate the whole thing! Granted he did not eat any of the potatoes, corn, or pasta that came with the meal, but I did and was quite full afterwards. We had clams, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, and lobster added for free. We ordered medium sauce and it was pretty spicy. Shrimp and Lobster weren't too spicy since we took off the shells and much of the spiciness along with it. My teenagers liked their fish and chicken that came with a large portion of fries. We would definitely go back and bring out of town guests for the experience of eating the delicious food out of a plastic bag wearing plastic gloves.
