My daughter got the zinger's tossed and barbecue sauce, but they did not toss them. They drenched them just poured barbecue sauce over the zingers. I got the Californian chicken. It was dry. It was not even hot. The only thing that was hot. Was the Papas I won't return to this establishment anytime soon.

Never having been to Bubba's before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when my brother's girlfriend suggested it after we went to view a drive-thru Christmas light tour. The sports-themed restaurant features a full bar, loudish music, and a variety of high-top and regular tables and booths. The women's restroom was mostly clean. Our waitress was attentive and kind. My drink took a while to come. I had the BLACKBERRY SMASH (Crown Royal hand shaken with a hint of Bubba's 33 sweet & sour, DeKuyper Razzmatazz Liqueur, and fresh blackberries - $9). The Monte Cristo was pretty delicious. It entailed "Roasted turkey, ham, American and jack cheese on wheat bread, batter-dipped, deep-fried and dusted with powdered sugar served with raspberry preserves" ($13.99). The fire fries (Habanero seasoning) paired well with it. My oldest had a really delicious looking club sandwich with regular fries ($13.99). My youngest had the bacon guacamole burger with fire fries ($14.99) and a Tropical Breeze mocktail ($5). She enjoyed her food, but wasn't drinking her mocktail and I asked why, then I tried it. It didn't taste like it should have. It wasn't good at all. Overall, I'd eat here again if friends wanted to meet up.

Now... first, the bathroom was dirty...extremely bad; there was ranch dressing (or some unknown white crusty sauce) smeared all over the stall doors and the handle inside the door (so, so gross). Second, the queso was sour-- like when you reheat the velveeta and Rotel one too many times and you're left with that soured milk taste (my husband dipped one chip and said "yeah, not the best"-- that's a definite issue).... Third- got a side salad, chicken tinga tacos (asked for no cheese), and black beans.... Salad-- half icy lettuce and some brown pieces... Black beans- SO SOUR!!! Wow... my absolute favorite side and this was INEDIBLE Tacos- again- SOUR-- the chicken may have been slow-cooked in tomato and ... vinegar??? Just very frustrating to see the lack of attention... We were honestly ready to just get up and leave. Food was decent, service was just bad!! I feel like Bierhaus is a place worthy of two separate reviews, so I'm going to write it as such:…read more I. Bierhaus has the best burgers in Lubbock. I am not even going to front with you. Their buns have such a sweetness to them mixed with a sharp and well-cooked patty, American cheese (a must in a cheeseburger), and their haus sauce that is like a thousand island style sauce that all combines into a delight. It always has a hefty weight to it and a well balanced amount of tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. How do you explain the concept of a burger? It's really just something special. I like coming here for lunch. It's a bar at the end of the day, but their burgers are what make me want to come back. Many times in college, a friend would suggest Bierhaus, and I would tell them yes only if we got there before their kitchen closed because I needed a burger. They also give you a ton of fries. More fries than you'll ever need with a burger. That's awesome. Being in Texas, you see a lot of places offer a patty melt similar to the ones at Whataburger. A lot of places try to make a higher version dupe of a patty melt, and I think it always falls flat, but Bierhaus's does a pretty good job of being its own thing. Thank you for good food, Bierhaus. RIYL: Boorger II. Bierhaus is a great starter bar for a night out as a college kid in Lubbock. I don't think it's a place to end up if you're hitting multiple spots, but I find it endearing as a warm up spot or a one and done on a chill night. The two story indoor space can be loud, but there's a lot of booths for hanging around and chatting, with plenty of TVs. The outdoor patio has a different energy with swings, large tables, and a DJ. They always have a great selection of beers and good deals to go around. It was one of the few bars in Lubbock to offer cans of peebers (PBRs), which was always exciting for me. They also have their Capri Funs, which I always enjoy. Bierhaus is worth the party. RIYL: Brewskis
