I'm a sucker for good Italian food and Capriccio was molto bene! I had a unique opportunity to get to know the restaurant well on my first visit because I ended up spending 4 hours there thanks to a particularly bad afternoon thunderstorm. Instead of braving the elements to run back to the car and then sit in traffic, we were having such a nice time, we waited it out in the restaurant. It all started with the bread. Wow! Amazing bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start. The waiter was very helpful with recommendations on what to order. For an appetizer we tried the burrata e'mortadella focaccia. It was huge for a party of four. It's basically a pizza. They cut triangle slices of bread, just like a pizza, with a generous serving of burrata, mortadella, arugula, and tomatoes. We had leftovers because we had to save room for entrees. It could easily feed a party of 6-8 people as a starter. I chose the pear and cheese fiochetti as my entree. I was excited to see it on the menu because it's a rare dish to find in restaurants. There used to be a small mom and pop Italian restaurant next to my mom's house growing up that made the best pear and cheese fiochetti, and sadly they closed years ago. So whenever I see pear and cheese fiochetti, I have to give it a try to see if it lives up to the pasta I grew up with. This one did just that! Again it was a generous portion of pasta and the flavor was amazing. We were so full that initially we declined dessert, but after hanging out in the restaurant waiting for the weather to improve, we got our appetites back and ordered a dessert. We ordered the Nutella calzone and it hit the spot. The staff was very kind and accommodating as we waited in the restaurant. They could have been annoyed that we were overstaying our welcome, but the lunch rush was over so they were hanging out with us too. I have not stopped recommending this place to my friends and will definitely be coming back. read more

Came here recently for an early dinner and fully enjoyed our experience. I recommend the calamari, pear fiochetti, fig ravioli, and this secret item which is a penne a la vodka with beef, mushrooms, and cheese. I love Capriccio at Blue Lagoon. The food is delicious, authentic, and served with so much care. The ambiance is beautiful - we had the opportunity to sit in the "cave" and we loved the experience (like if we were in Italy) I had Pasta with Salmon, and my wife had Gnocchi in Pistachio Pesto Sauce, and they were both super good. We ended dinner with an expresso and their Nutella dessert - it was out of this world. Our servers were outstanding, they took care of every detail and served us as royalty. Make sure to ask for their Italian Pinot Grigio, you will not be disappointed. We loved it! Enjoy! read more

This unassuming adorable Italian restaurant is the treasure I was looking for while in town! Casual dining atmosphere, yet elegant in its own comfortable way. Amazing service!! The servers were attentive, kind and efficient!! Food! The delicious food!!! Starting with the warm Italian bread coming out first, and olive oil and vinegar already on the table. I usually resist starting with bread, but this had a perfect small amount of marinara across the top. It was a delicious start!! The wine list was impressive! I chose Annabelle, a bold oaky Cab from Napa. My meal choice was a pesto chicken breast dish with an arugula caprese salad on the side. The chicken was incredibly moist with a light layer of their house pesto cooked into it. The server must have read my mind because when she checked in, she asked if I would like more pesto! Yes please! It's delicious!! I travel for a living and eat at restaurants all around the world! I love that this gem is right here in Miami!! It's for sure going to be a frequent return for me!! Kind of unassuming on the outside, next door to a Panda Express, but this place is WOW! Interior is modern but cozy and the food is fantastic!! Sorry for the lack of pictures, but we just couldn't wait to eat it. Pizza perfection for appetizer, crust was thin with nice spicy pepperoni and great sauce. Three of us shared the lasagna and the chicken Parmigiano. It was SO GOOD we had to come back for lunch the next day. Definitely recommend the sandwiches; the bread is incredible! I sat down At 6:10 only me. The tab started at 6:15. Other than the horrible lemon I ordered to try no one checked to see what I needed. One server greeted sat to other tables a family and a couple who came after me. The place was not busy at all. The server made eye contact with me twice 6:25 and still no one checked to see what I wanted to order. There was just no service and I was feet away from the check out. I have not had this lack of service in a long time. The place look great. Not full which why I decided to dine there. Not a very good first impression. We ate here while staying at a nearby hotel. Didn't have a car, so we walked. The menu is great! And I loved that they said it isn't fine dining it's fine eating. No lie. The eggplant parmesan was the best I've had. Done perfectly and not heavily breaded, it nearly melts in your mouth. My husband had the short rib ravioli. It was amazing!
