I stopped in on a rainy night. Sat at the bar ordered a beer and was served promptly. I got a menu and was told that burgers were $2.50 off that night. Burger it is. I got the Toman Burger. It's a big burger with a lot of toppings. Salami, cheese, etc. Got messy towards the end. I ordered it as rare as they can make it, and it was rare. Juicy good flavor. Dinner at Capps pizza & Tavern. Not a terribly busy night but not slow. Still greeted right way. Real friendly staff. Drinks ordered right as seated and came right out. My wife got the special 10oz sirloin with 2 sides (she got a baked potato & broccoli) and toast. For $13.99. Amazing price. Came out cooked perfectly, potato was good too and huge! I got the frisco burger. Patty, cheese, onion and bacon with a sauce. Good burger. Several TVs on around the place, I was able to watch the hockey game while eating. Which is always a plus. Dark wood give the place a nice comfortable feel. Really enjoyed the evening. It's worth checking out. I Will definitely go again. read more

We ordered takeout pizza and we won't be back. We were a little early and the waiting area was freezing so I waited in the car. Half the pizza was plain cheese and was sparsely covered. The sauce is bland and it tasted like frozen pizza. The other half had sausage and mushrooms and still was flavorless. The person at the register faced me while shouting back to the kitchen. The standards seem to have really gone down including the delivery driver who shot out of the snowy parking lot like a maniac. read more

Tried the smash burger for the first time and it was an EPIC fail. Both patties were dry and overcooked. No flavor whatsoever despite the mention of added seasoning. Bun was toasted but again dry and very stale. About the consistency of a dried loofah. SO disappointing. To say it was dry AND tasteless is an understatement. Thought I'd try this place again but it was another sh*tshow. "D" rang my Miller Lites up as Labatt's because they are higher priced (domestics are cheaper). Thurs night is wing night so I placed an order to go = big, big mistake. Garlic Parms were plain and the Honey Mustards were some lackluster BBQ. I don't even know if I got the right order, but the young server's asst. described it as how I ordered it. Not sure how you get a red sauce that tastes like BBQ when you order H. Food was really overdone and the server was the only one running the whole restaurant and the place needs to little clean up and more staff for all time. FF were over cooked and greasy. I had heartburn from eating the greasy food and almost went to hospital. The price is too high for three people with water meal at 70.00. It was outrageous. read more

Enjoyed their pizza for the first time. I had it delivered. I got the veggie pizza which had everything but the girl on it. I'm usually not a fan of mild yellow pepper rings, but it worked nicely with the garlic white sauce on the pie. The dough was good, not too sweet. I also ordered a "Bomb Burger" which was layered in cheese and wrapped in a deep fried dough burrito sorta thing. Really tasty and interesting. The Elephant Balls were good, too. Little balls of cinnamon and sugar dough. Pretty good. I'm just stoked that they even deliver to my area. Delivery arrived in less than an hour. Friendly service. Divey kind of place but pretty good food for the prices. We needed someplace to grab something to eat and hang out for a bit. There isn't really much in the area. Service wasn't bad, but not great. Items were dropped at the table on the fly. We had to wait on service for multiple needs. It was fairly clean. There were several televisions in the bar. We ordered two Spirit drinks each, an order of 10 wings and a burger that came with steak fries. Our bill came to about $44. The wings were cooked nicely, not too dry with a crispy skin. The honey spice sauce was similar to an Asian sweet sauce with red pepper flake. We weren't offered any dip, but got a generous cup of blue cheese when we asked. The burger was very large for the price... one of the few 1/2# advertised burgers I've ordered lately that actually seems like it's a 1/2#. The roll it came on was more of a dense kaiser. I prefer a softer bun, but t was at least fresh. There are a ton of burger creations to choose from or you can sub a chicken breast. The fries were a frozen variety. Eh, but we ate them. I read the pizza/ calzones are good, but I didn't see any going out. The burger is definitely a bang for your buck! read more

I found Capps via Google and boy did I find a gem. I needed a restaurant that could make 44 individual meals for a hungry men's college lacrosse team. I spoke with Al (one of the managers) and arranged everything over the phone. Then, when the weather turned and the game got rescheduled at the last minute to a location 30 miles away and at a different time, Al went above and beyond to come in early, make all the food and package it, and deliver it to the team's hotel. I wanted to thank him and Capps for awesome customer service...anyone visiting to play against Lake Erie college, I strongly urge you to feed your team at Capps...food is great and service better! My favorite hometown place. I have been going here since I was a kid. The owners are awesome people and are very personable. The wait staff is also very prompt and friendly. Normally I am amazed at the excellent service in the takeout area but today it was lacking. Gave me the wrong change. Forgot half my order. I had the mushroom swiss burger which was big and had great flavor, nice bun, but was overcooked. I think take-out burgers are tough b/c it may have been medium rare when it left kitchen but after resting during delivery arrived with no pink, at least I'm willing to believe that, I don't know maybe I'm being nice and cook just hammered it. Went for pizza and drinks for my birthday with 6 other family members. Ordered a Crown & gingerale, and was not only charged for the mixed drink but an extra 45 cents for gingerale. Isn't it a mixed drink??? Then came the bill with an added $6 because I didn't pay with cash! If they are that strapped for money, maybe they should close the business!
