I assume with all of the scooter competition that they are not investing in keeping up the bikes. In San Antonio they are going electric which is great. We also had to call the help center when we tried to dock the bikes and could not. The only plus is that the bikes can be taken on the bike /hike path while the scooters are prohibited.

Both bikes were fine, but the best part was the customer service from B-Cycle, now called Metrobike. Their staffers were so friendly and helpful-they legit showed interest in me as a customer and desire for me to be happy! Yay! Something that's sorely lacking right now. Plus, they had THE CLOSEST docking station to ACL (by a lot), at the corner of Sterzing and Barton Springs Road. Far closer than the mandatory scooter parking (geofencing prohibits you getting any closer-you have to take them to Toomey). I made that mistake Day 1 ACL. I will for sure use these bikes again. Happy to have them around central Austin. *The payment options are clearly stated on the app and the website. Not sure what others are bellyaching about. Each amount on the app has a drop-down with a VERY clear description of what you're buying. Jeez.

The only reason MSB has gotten two stars is because of the customer service representatives I spoke…read morewith were both sweet, understanding and just as frustrated with my situation. I now have 1012.69 cents in late charges because they "can not change the address on the billing statement unless the DMV notifies MSB of any changes." My car is not and has never been registered at the address they are billing me. I have no way of receiving the bills and have not for almost a year in a half. Second: Each late fee is over 100 dollars for 1.25 toll. Each marked saying billing issue. Third: I called, explaining my situation and paid someone 243.69 They now have no record, but my bank statement does. I avoid the toll as much as I can, but I live 290e and 130 and 183. All three different tolls owned by different companies, (I learned that today.) Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority or MSB is an evil scamming private corporation, taking advantage of Texans who can no longer afford to live in Austin, none the less drive its roads. If I can't get a bill how the hell am I supposed to pay it? You received my bills back, you knew I was not getting them. How do you have the right to charge me over 1000% per bill? Why did we let this happen Austin? It's our damn fault for not kicking them out in 2008.

From what I am reading here, this is their normal business practice. I will be reporting them and will not drive this road anymore. I cannot believe they get away with this!

Don't want to drive to Austin? This is your answer. My friends and I booked our tickets online…read more We arrived at Fuel City Taco/Carwash to catch the bus on a Saturday morning. Arrived in Austin within 3ish hours. The sucky thing is the seats are really small. You are cramped up. The charging stations at each seat is just a plug. No USB charging here. The free wifi sucks as well. The good thing is if the bus isn't full you can move to another seat. Our first bus driver was a chatty Kathy, but I had earpods in and watched nexflix on my phone. Our driver on the way home gave a Sunday sermon before we left Austin and it was awkward. All in all. Put your earbuds in and sit back, relax (if there's room) and let someone else take the stress out of your drive to and from Austin. The drive goes by so fast. PS - looking at the photos - we did not get a double decker bus to or from Austin.

You can check in with the people inside the center by showing your ticket. It is always better to arrive early than late because the buses usually leave on time. I like how there is a waiting area. There are also restrooms. (There are restrooms on the bus too and they're usually clean). Most of the time, there is no Wi-Fi on the Megabus even though they do say they have it. Sometimes the outlets don't work so you should fully charge what you need. It is a good way for an inexpensive longer ride. They can be as low as $1 if you get them early. You do have to ride with strangers though.

Gah! This is an expensive way to travel. It ain't cheap to drive this fast. But this toll road is…read morefamous- it's got some of the highest posted speed limits in the United States. You can legally go 85 mph through here. The roads are wide, with nice shoulders and clear signage, so it's easy to go 85 through here. You don't get to see much on this toll road. It kinda takes you around Austin at high speed, and there aren't too many exit, or on-ramps, and there aren't any businesses directly along the toll road, just on the frontage roads. It always kinda feels like big brother is watching you going through here. I've never seen any patrol cars enforcing the 85 mph speed limit, but they take photos of you entering and exiting the toll road, so I assume they could figure out your average speed and handle things accordingly. But they don't. They just hit you with high tolls for using this roadway. Rumor has it, the company that runs this tollway isn't doing so hot.

It's always sad having to downgrade a business, but I recently noticed that the traffic lights on…read morethe frontage roads, at least the ones in the section by La Frontera and I-35, are incandescent rather than LEDs. One of the red lights has already burned out. I'm quite surprised any road builder is still using incandescent traffic lights, LEDs have long proven to be more cost effective when you factor in the labor (and traffic) cost of replacing a bulb. Incandescence - good for desire, wit, stars, not so much for traffic lights.
