As a rule, my fingers will not let me type any word or phrase containing extraneous punctuation. So, henceforth, I will be writing Hendricks Live without an exclamation. I really like that they let you eat inside the theatre. I mean, I didn't eat in there, but I like that they give you the option. They have a concession stand with things like frosted cookies, popcorn, candy, wine, beer and soft drinks. The seats have cup holders. The theatre seems relatively new and well-taken-care-of. The seats were comfy, and even though my son, who is on the shorter side, sat in back of two adults, he could still see the stage. The people who scanned our digital tickets and showed us to our seats were very friendly. The whole experience was pleasant, and we had a nice time at the theatre.

Everyone was dressed up and excited for the show. Many of the little girls in attendance appeared to be wearing their Easter dresses. It was really fun to see. The door attendants that were checking our tickets were eager to help and pointed out the entrance doors and restrooms upon our arrival. Concessions were open and running smoothly. The gentleman that assisted us was kind, upbeat and helpful. When I asked about their cider offerings, he happily bounced over to the fridge and grabbed the two that they had and gave me his personal recommendation. My husband asked about the butteriness (a word I made up, apparently) of the popcorn, and he was honest with his feedback. In addition to the cider and popcorn, they also had a nice selection of beer, wine and spirits as well as candy. The volunteers were stationed outside of the theater entrances until 6pm, when the doors opened. One of the gentlemen had his picture up in the lobby as "Volunteer of the Year". I felt honored to be in his presence! There isn't a bad seat in the entire theater. If you attend a show here, I wouldn't worry too much about where you sit. The volunteers were actively walking around and offering booster seats to the children. I thought that was pretty awesome. The show itself was very community theater-esque. It was cute and whimsical and made for a fun night out, but the set design and story delivery were very amateur. For what we paid, it was a decent value. I will read more closely when booking in the future. Reading is fundamental folks, and the listing on Fever stated that the show consisted of 6 local dancers. There just wasn't enough going on to maintain my interest, but that is definitely a personal issue. My husband really enjoyed the show and athleticism displayed by the dancers. Maleficent was my favorite dancer. Her moves were, quite literally, on point!

Although, I've read that if you see a movie in the Dolby theatre, the seats are better, so your mileage may vary. One of the good things about this movie theatre is that it serves beer and wine. I didn't get any during my visit, but maybe I should have. The soft drinks are dispensed at a machine off to the side, and you can pick your flavor of soda. Another neat thing that I noticed: You can order your concessions ahead of time, and they will be ready to be picked up at a little nook off to the side. This would come in handy if you want to skip waiting in line! I don't usually order food at a movie theatre, but I had some food credits burning a hole in my pocket, so I got chicken tenders, mini chocolate chip cookies and pretzel bites for my child. My child originally wanted the Bavarian pretzel, but we were informed that the pretzel is as big as a steering wheel, so we opted for the pretzel bites instead. Who is buying soft pretzels as big as steering wheels? That seems obscene to me. Just make them a normal size? The chicken tenders were actually really good. Maybe my expectations were low for these chicken tenders, but they were fresh and crispy, and you get six big tendies in an order, with your choice of sauce (I chose honey mustard). The mini cookies were served warm, but they tasted a little weird -- almost like they were baked on a pan that had something else on it previously, like chicken tenders. As far as the movie theatre itself: We must have been in one of the smaller theatres, because it felt a little tight in there. But the sound was great, and the temperature was decent, and we generally had a good time.

I pre purchased our tickets online, you can choose your day/time slot and it's $5 per person... when you arrive and check-in you're given a colored wrist band(every hour is a different color), then you wait in line for your turn on the ice. Once on the ice you bump and slide into other bumper cars for 5 min and then return to the end of the line... during our hour we had three turns on the ice. We did allow a few people to go ahead of us a few times so that we could all be on the ice at the same time, so if you have a smaller group you may have more turns on the ice than we did. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because during our hour random parts kept appearing on the ice: screws, brackets... they didn't pause to inspect the cars and during our last ride the motor fell off the bottom of the car my sister was in... This was something none of us had done before and was a lot fun! I'd definitely go again!!

It was difficult at first to know where to check in but after walking around for a couple minutes it was clear. The lines were long for the Bumper Cars but it moved quickly. We had the opportunity to go several times throughout the night. The food truck, A Small Town Throw Down, folks were super friendly. They offered food and hot chocolate and more. I posted the hours but I didn't see what days they have ice skating vs. Bumper Cars. You'll need to call. The Ice Rink is in Washington Township Park. It's a gorgeous park with many recreational opportunties. The park is 160 acres plus a preserved wooded area and a great deal of open green space. This park has so many incredible amenities. There is a 24 foot Gazebo, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a splash pad, 4 covered picnic facilities, and an outdoor fitness station. If that's not enough to get your interest then let's talk about these amenities. The Pavilion Center is where the office is. It is also an Event Center that can be used for indoor weddings/events, a Paw Park with 3 separate fenced in areas for all size of dogs. 5 plus miles of trails and of course the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss Bridge. Lots of activities for any ages. It can be a quite sanctuary or a space to be very active. Stop by this gorgeous park and find your favorite activity and don't forget the Bumper Cars.

That's Regal Shiloh Crossing, an Avon, Indiana 18-screen cinema that has been fairly well updated. There's an IMAX screen, 4DX, and other luxury options including luxury reclining seats. While I know this is an older theater, it's for the most part kept clean and looked pretty spiffy to me (I wonder if I'm the first Yelper to use "spiffy" in a review?). The employees were all friendly. Accessibility is strong here with accessible parking, appropriate curb cuts, and accessible seating options nicely done in the auditorium-style theaters. Regal offers a rewards program and an unlimited movie subscription option (2D movies). At one point, it really seemed like Regal was declining as a chain. Theaters like this one give me some hope. It's not perfect. I wouldn't call it a destination theater, but I do think it serves this community well. There aren't a lot of options around Avon other than the screenings at Danville's Royal Theatre. It is worth noting that after 8pm anyone under the age of 17 has to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian - I think this has helped solve a lot of past complaints as the theater really used to be a gathering space for teens in the area. While my time is winding down as I get closer to resolving my father's estate, I wouldn't hesitate to return here if in the area or if friends on this side of town wanted to see a movie. While it's not Central Indiana's best theater, it's a good option for those living on the westside of Indy or in Hendricks County. Alamo Drafthouse by Lafayette Square does draw some westside folks, but for those for whom that's too long of a drive this is definitely a solid option.
