Took my boys (7 and 12) here per my oldest's bday request. Had never been but we were so happy we came. Opened at noon, got there at 12:30 and it wasn't very crowded at all which was really nice for us. Had to wait like 10 mins for someone to help us at skate rentals but that was really the only hiccup. Got skate mates for my kids which they used and by the end did not need anymore. Music during the time we went was kid friendly and energetic. I brought my rollerblades bc I don't roller skate and my inner 90s preteen self was in heaven. It was sooooooo fun. The whole vibe was great and fun. Ordered garlic bread, souvenir cups (free refills day of purchase) and a slice of pizza. Not bad prices. Best part was when Bluey came out for about three songs. We took a pic. Birthday activity was a hit with both parent and kids

We came here because my daughters dance coach hosted a skating party for the girls. I'll be honest we were off to a rocky start because of the young lady checking people in. Even though one of my daughters was on the team she did not want to skate. The lady said it was $3 to enter so I was thinking my total would be about $8 at the most with tax. Well apparently if you are under the age of 18 whether you are skating or not you HAVE to pay a skating fee. Luckily for me (or them) not too sure yet (lol) we just used her paid for slot for her to get in. My youngest daughter had a GREAT time and loved when Malifiscent came out! It was such a surprise because we were not expecting it. Whomever played her stayed in character the entire time and even passed out goody bags. It was cute because she used her staff and glared at the kids while delivering them. Needless to say my 5 year old was in heaven. Whomever the skating referee (not sure their actual title name) was on duty that night was amazing!!! My 5 yr old was terrified to skate, but didn't want me out there. Everytime she came around to the space where there wasn't a wall; he always showed up, took her hand and would either take her to the middle or back to the other side so she could hold the wall. It was thoughtful and such a nice gesture im not even sure he knew the impact he was making.

The bumper cars are more like CrAzY cars, they don't always go in the direction you want them to... I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not but it made for some pretty hilarious videos! I pre purchased our tickets online, you can choose your day/time slot and it's $5 per person... when you arrive and check-in you're given a colored wrist band(every hour is a different color), then you wait in line for your turn on the ice. Once on the ice you bump and slide into other bumper cars for 5 min and then return to the end of the line... during our hour we had three turns on the ice. We did allow a few people to go ahead of us a few times so that we could all be on the ice at the same time, so if you have a smaller group you may have more turns on the ice than we did. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because during our hour random parts kept appearing on the ice: screws, brackets... they didn't pause to inspect the cars and during our last ride the motor fell off the bottom of the car my sister was in... This was something none of us had done before and was a lot fun! I'd definitely go again!!

The tickets included one draft beer, 2 hrs. of Bumper Cars and a cupcake as we left. You could buy additional beers if wanted. Hubby had two Sun King Octoberfest while I had Hot Chocolate and two chocolate chip cookies right from the oven. It was difficult at first to know where to check in but after walking around for a couple minutes it was clear. The lines were long for the Bumper Cars but it moved quickly. We had the opportunity to go several times throughout the night. The food truck, A Small Town Throw Down, folks were super friendly. They offered food and hot chocolate and more. I posted the hours but I didn't see what days they have ice skating vs. Bumper Cars. You'll need to call. The Ice Rink is in Washington Township Park. It's a gorgeous park with many recreational opportunties. The park is 160 acres plus a preserved wooded area and a great deal of open green space. This park has so many incredible amenities. There is a 24 foot Gazebo, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a splash pad, 4 covered picnic facilities, and an outdoor fitness station. If that's not enough to get your interest then let's talk about these amenities. The Pavilion Center is where the office is. It is also an Event Center that can be used for indoor weddings/events, a Paw Park with 3 separate fenced in areas for all size of dogs. 5 plus miles of trails and of course the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss Bridge. Lots of activities for any ages. It can be a quite sanctuary or a space to be very active. Stop by this gorgeous park and find your favorite activity and don't forget the Bumper Cars.

You have to pay for those too. The fee includes "all you can eat pizza" and the pizza is not that great. Their skates are disgusting, extremely old and in serious need of replacing. We took our skates back up to ask for better ones 3 times before just giving up and trying to make do. Each time, we asked them to please give us skates without broken laces, IN THE LEAST. Each time, we received another pair with broken laces, broken toe stitching, and skates that looked like they had been both barfed on and falling apart. We have skated here on 2 different Sunday afternoons, and had the same experience both times. It is utter chaos on the rink. Yes, obviously Sunday afternoons are more family friendly and a better time for small children to skate. But there isn't anyone monitoring the floor to ensure everyone's safety or to correct dangerous actions like people skating in the wrong directions or even flat out laying across the floor. We watched as a couple of teen girls flopped down on the floor, sprawled out in the path of skaters, and then passed a phone around to show someone they were facetiming how they had all "wiped out." It took a major pile up of people falling over them before they decided they should get up.

The woman employee at the admission counter was extremely helpful with the waivers process. The admission price and skate rental was affordable and not too high considering the length of stay (as long as you want until 9 pm). The high school teen girls had fun for a few hours and that's what is most important. Lockers are available for your shoes and purses. They cost four quarters. A decent snack bar is available as well. Parking is no issue since the parking lot is huge. Not all lockers are functioning correctly but that's par for the course. I've never been to a skating rink with new or fully functioning lockers. It's no big deal in my opinion, lose four quarters and move on to the next locker as far as I'm concerned. I'm just mentioning this for the inexperienced skaters.

Arrive as early as you can on your chosen day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In the years I've gone to the Markt, the service is always friendly and the food stalls are usually pretty quick about it, or as best they can be with the given volume of foot traffic. There's tons of food, ranging from classic bratwursts to the more Americanized options like pizza and waffles and then to the more adventurous sauerkraut and mushrooms! There's plenty of vegetarian options too - I really like the hot noodles with cheese (casespaetzle) and the spiral-cut potato on a stick! Let me try to list out all the things I've tried at the Markt this past year, and just rate by a simple pick (yes, you should try it) or pitch (not really worth it if you want guaranteed flavor) - Doner kebab: PICK - Walking waffle: pitch - Belgian hot chocolate: pick (it's expensive though, $11 in 2025) - Peppermint hot chocolate: pick - Sautéed mushrooms and sauerkraut: pitch - Kielbasa: pick - Hot noodles with cheese: pick - Spiral potato on a stick: pick - Chimney cake: pitch It's all great food but can be slightly expensive. There are definitely plenty of things that are under $10 if you look, and usually the vegetarian options are around that price. The stalls/huts are all very scenic with a cabin-like design, so the market is very charming. Each hut also has a German trivia sign on it. My favorite huts are the loose leaf teas and the German candies/treats. There's also a ton of handmade stuff like beer steins that would make excellent Christmas gifts. Christkindlmarkt is hugely popular for many reasons: food, atmosphere, ice skating, and maybe even the collectible boot mugs! The design changes every year, and they're only $8 so it's also a nice souvenir.

I admit that it has been a number of years since I've been to the Stare Fair, so I was surprised by all the updates and building expansion. The remodeled swine barn could be featured in House Beautiful. The building is spacious, immaculate and super functional. It's an amazing state of the art facility. My granddaughters loved seeing the mother and baby pigs. The $2 specials on Fair food gave us a chance to taste many different Fair delectable. The Key Lime shakes at the dairy barn were a big hit with us. The girls also had the mini funnel cakes, which they loved. We tried the hand cut fries, which were delicious. I wanted to try more foods, but there was so much to do and see, that we just didn't have time. The kids enjoyed petting and feeding the sheep and goats in the FFA building. There were many educational activities for them. We rode the Sky Ride that ran over the Midway. The relaxing ride offered great views of the fair. We purchased tickets for rides for the kids. There was special pricing for all the rides for $2 Tuesday. The kids rode about six rides for $30, and we all enjoyed the Ferris Wheel as a family. The day wasn't without a couple issues. The Midway lost power for 20 minutes, just as the rides were getting started. The kids were antsy, but we weathered the wait. My granddaughter also got injured on a large slide/ride. She came down the slide and went airborne a bit, bruising both elbows on landing. I think they should shut that ride down. I also would have liked to see more shaded seating. The afternoon got hot! I never did find restrooms. We always love taking a trip on the tractor train around the grounds. I loved that the hostess on the train pointed out features of each stop. We got in one trip before the Fair got too crowded that there were no seats. Entry was only $2 on Tuesday, compared to $16 for other days. A family should expect to spend well over $100 to visit the Fair, including $10 parking. We got there very early and got a great parking space. Getting through security was fast early in the morning. Exiting the parking lot was easy as well. While we didn't get to see everything we wanted, we had a memorable visit for our granddaughters. The facilities are top notch.

Inflation has $2 Tuesday feeling like less of a deal, and more like a scam! One stall's $2 deal was one potsticker! It was truly laughable. The $19 turkey legs was tough, dry and tasteless. This was the second year that I had to go home and "doctor it up" in order for my husband to enjoy it. The mini elephant ear for $2 was the perfect size for someone like me, who just wanted a little something sweet. You can't really need to a corndog, so those were good. I couldn't get an ear of corn because I have braces currently (that was a real bummer). But the jerk chicken and beef patties from Jamaican Breeze did not disappoint. Entry prices went way up this year. It was $16/ person unless you attended on one of the discounted days. The fair closed for a bit due to lightning strikes within 8 miles, and the tram was not in service. I'm guessing the shut it down due to the crowds, but that really changes the experience if you were counting on using it. I attended annually, as it is a long-running tradition in my family, but if the process keep going up and food quality keeps declining, I feel that it is a tradition that I can let go. Sidenote: I didn't see it interact with any animals this year, not did I ride any rides. There were just too many people. I was not enjoying weaving in and out of the crowds and therefore left after satisfying my fair food cravings.
