We just moved here to Indiana from Phoenix Arizona. Both of my boys are in the K1 leagues, and I have never been so disappointed with the wait times then ever! This is the largest track, you pay a ton of money to sit and wait around for races. We went to our first league night and we were there for almost 5hrs for 2 races. We missed a league night, so I said ok we can go on a Saturday, remembering it's a Saturday, coming from the city it's busy! But yet we waited 3 1/2 between the first race until the second race. This place needs staff, it needs organization and new cars that are not old and break all the time, also the when you have rain coming in from the ceiling, and have to block of most of the track for liability, you might want to shut down for a day to fix that. read more

Tips: -look for Groupons -check their website for deals -ask family members for gift cards to K1 when birthdays and holidays come around -sign up with your birthday for a free birthday race What I love is that they have junior races and adult races so kids can race without the competitiveness of the adults. My son is 7 but the height of an adult (5'1) so I was happy he was able to have a blast with the kids his age without feeling like the biggest kid in the group, as is the case with bounce gyms and such. I raced with the adults and again, so glad I had my son do the junior race because I got hit hard by another racer! So I say when in doubt, out the kids in junior, even if they make the height requirement. Especially because the junior cars only reach a max speed of 35 and when everyone has their helmets on adults, can't tell who is the kid and who's not. We visited K1 Speed for my son's friend's birthday party, and my kid had so much fun that we decided to come back by ourselves on my kid's birthday. Well, our visit wasn't great. In fact, it was frustrating enough that I've waited almost three months to cool down before writing this review. The thing is: They seem understaffed here. And the staff that they have seem overworked. We just wanted to ride a car and go vroom, and it literally took us about three hours of waiting to actually see the inside of a car. It was due to miscommunications and errors made. First, we paid for a ride but they didn't put our name down. Then, when our race time came and went, we were promised the next race and we missed that one because they couldn't find us on the list. What? Finally, we agreed to go on the next race, even though the next race didn't start for 45 minutes and we had been there an hour and a half. But that race? We missed that race because the system here is to call out names rapidly over the speakers, which you can barely hear due to the sounds of racing cars and people talking. My children were so over it by that time, and I told them that we could leave if they wanted to (after waiting over two hours and not racing), but they rallied and we decided to try a fourth time to race. I literally stood right next to the person calling out names for the race, to make sure our names were going to be called. Nevertheless, he asked me three times what our names were. We finally raced, after almost three hours being in the building. After the race, we got the heck out and vowed never to step inside the building again. During all of this, we spoke to the manager and he had agreed to give us our money back because of their multiple errors. We thought we were done with K1 Speed, but when I checked out my credit card a couple of days later to make sure we were reimbursed, I found out we had not been. When I called to get it straightened out, I was hung up on! I almost laughed out loud. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been hung up on, and I guess K1 Speed makes that list now. Our whole experience was a dang shame, because my kids love go karts, and this is one of the only places north of Indianapolis to ride go karts. Oh well. read more

Really fun experience if you like to go FAST! You could go slow, but why?!!! Awesome facility with cool decor and several arcade games to play. We went on a Tuesday evening and the place was fairly empty (the perk of having your date night in the middle of the week), so we didn't have to wait long for our races to be called up. The staff isn't that friendly or enthusiastic. We paid ahead through their website, but was told once we got there that we have to pay tax because the website doesn't know where you're purchasing from?! Sounded a bit fishy to me, especially since the young man that helped us didn't quite seem to know what he was doing. We showed him the confirmation email and he kept asking for the actual receipt...our credit card info was right there. I think this is the receipt, sir! The package we got came with a t-shirt and they had several to choose from, but they were out of many of them. The spill went a bit like "adult sizes are available for numbers 12-22 and 25, but we're out of 15, 16, 18, 19 and 21." I don't recall the actual #s, but it ended up being slim pickings! I would suggest not purchasing that package until you know which style of shirt you want and if it is available. My fiance said that he read somewhere about their cleanliness protocols (maybe on the website) and it said that they sanitize the helmets after each race. This isn't the case at all. We didn't observe them sanitize them at all and we had two races and stuck around to play games afterwards. We even asked one staff member if we should hand in the helmets for sanitizing and he told us to just set them back on the shelf and they would "figure it out later." The concession area has beer and wine on the menu, but we were told that they didn't have any wine. Also, still not sure about their scoring for the races.....I was lapping people AND my fiance stayed in my rearview the entire first race, but he somehow outranked me?! The math isn't mathing. The customer service was horrible and they felt dishonest . This was our first time at this establishment or any similar establishment. Upon finally arriving to the cashier after waiting in line, we were informed that we needed to complete a waiver. No signs were listed to do so prior to us getting in line. We were told by the cashier that "the wait would be 1hr, but that the group that previously had a 2 hr wait got in within 45min so it's moving fast." So we paid and waited. After 2hours we still were waiting for our turn. So we went to inquire how much longer until our turn and were first told that we were up next, then, in the same breath, were told there were 2 other groups ahead of us. To top it all off, when we first arrived, my husband politely inquired about the food menu, only to be met with a rude and dismissive "we're completely out of food" from the cashier, delivered as if we were mind readers. Honestly, this establishment seems to have a serious problem with both communication and basic customer courtesy. They wasted our time, were misleading about the wait. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear of this place. It was not a good first time experience to say the least. read more

I went to K1 speed today with a friend, and we both loved it so much. The staff were very nice and understanding and overall, the experience was amazing. The karts could use a little update, but I'm not picky at all. I'm going to try to come back to K1 maybe once a week or a couple times a month because I just found my new hobby. Such a fun time racing! I went today with my wonderful coworkers for a team bonding session. I not only bonded with my team members but discovered that the list of things I would do to get back into a go kart is very long. I cannot lie it was very hot on the track. As hot as July can be and I think the heat got to me. I did not know I was such a competitive gal! I was literally foaming at the mouth. It was like the pod racing in Star Wars and I was little farm boy Anakin Skywalker. K1 Speed was SOOO MUCH FUNNNN!!! I know this is a late review, but i wanted to express how amazing and incredibly helpful this place was for me! I was planning a surprise birthday party for my best friend and I had invited about 12 people. I highly recommend you to make a reservation. In order to rent out the entire track for your party you need to at least have 12 people. I had to put my card on file in case if someone cancels the day before the event. They will let you know if someone does cancel, you are responsible for paying their admission fee for holding that time slot. I was working with the event manager for the whole entire event and last minute five people canceled on me the day of the party. I was in tears because I was stressing out about that cancellation fee for each person that had canceled day of . Luckily the manager was so sweet and told me I just want you guys to have a good time, they took care of the rest so that I could enjoy the birthday party that I had planned with less stress. They didn't have to do that, but they did and it was so accommodating and it made the night 10 times better. Believe me I was in tears, imagine inviting 12 people and five people cancel on you the day of. That sucks. Regardless I had a great time, I rented out the party room and that ran me about $100+. You can also do a party pack where they will bring out pizza and soda for you but I didnt do that since people cancelled. The facility and restrooms are very clean and seating options both in the track and out are plentiful and comfortable. There are many modern arcade games also available. We went here for my husband's bday--what a treat! It's not cheap, but it's a fun date night. For about $20 a race (give or take depending on your package), you can take an 8-12 min lap around if you dare! I would imagine this place would be ideal for bday or work parties where you can get more bang for your buck. In a post-covid world, I would definitely do that! read more

This place is such a fun time! The staff is great, the atmosphere is awesome and the racing is a blast! My only complaint would be the wait times that we were given were about 1.5 hours off - but we had a blast anyway and the staff was very accommodating and fun! The entire staff was nice and friendly and I want to give a special shoutout to Lauren and Caymin!!!! K1 Speed has a great idea with having a indoor race car sport center. However, they only had two people working the registers on a Saturday afternoon which resulted to a bad experience. People were looking for someone to give directions on where to go how to sign in or how does this process work. No one was available to help for this reason only I gave 3 stars. My partner and his friends decided to go Go Karting after brunch. I was too full, but had fun watching them race. They each spent $50+ for the race. They were attended right away. We had to wait an hour for their turn. What I liked about this location was that there were different things to do while we waited. They have a full on snack and alcohol stand. You can order pizza, nachos, fries etc. Along with your drink. Their couches were comfortable and I noticed they had a couple of back massaging chairs. They only had a couple of arcade games, pool table, and air hockey. We did not play the games, but it was good to know there were things to do while one waited. The space is massive and quite fun to be inside. There were a couple car displays and other race car art. I highly recommend for large groups. read more

Good facility, nice decor, and all that. The staff for the most part could care less. No eye contact, single word answers, no instructions at all. The racing is downright dangerous. They didn't bother to shut the race track exit during multiple races. One other racer was allowed to enter the track without his seatbelt fastened, and everyone lost one of 12 laps of the race while they tightened his seatbelt. Crashes each lap causes the attendants to kept all the karts at limited speed for well over half the time. We returned later in the evening and had the track to ourselves. When we asked the glowering attendant if we could do a qualifying race and then a heads up race from the line he didn't even look and said, "NO!". No explanation, or anything. Just one word. This place could be great, but the staff makes it dangerous and a waste of time and money. If you want to experience racing in Indy go to Fast Times, New Castle Raceway Motorsports park, or Speedway Indoor Karting. read more

Even though this place is pretty expensive at first glance, the experience is truly next level. I was in town visiting my children and they've never been. My oldest has dreams of racing nascar and wanted to get started in karts. They offer full metrics for lap time, point standings and best of week times. They offer beer and wine for the non-driving adults as well as a solid food menu and snacks for the kids. They offer junior carts for kids up to 56" and full speed adult karts. Great First time experience! Only Complaint is that their food is "wayyyy too over priced". For an example, we got a pizza for about $9, and it was the size of a microwavable personal sized pizza. How was K1? Shocking. My niece had her cart purposely slowed without notice when drivers approached, only making her slower which resulted in getting spun. The staff, knowing they forced her to go slower with their switch, then yelled at her as if she was doing something wrong. What do you expect when power is randomly cut from your cart? In the same race we had a group of 2 that drove side by side the entire time and would not let anyone through. When I did get by 1 he immediately made a dive bomb and sat right next to his friend again. The previous race had TWO people stopping on the racing line for the entire session. Nothing was said to them. The race took an extra 13 minutes. 6 people on staff but they left the gate open to the course where you get in the carts and a toddler ran through the gate and towards the track. The 6 staffers just watched from their booth by the gate. None of the staff went to get the kid until he was climbing the wall to get on track.I bet the security camera footage is shocking. There was a race where we weren't shown a white or checkered flag and shut our carts down, turns out we only did 11 laps when we paid for 12. I have my lap sheet to show it. 3 separate groups were going, including us, a group of 2 kid sized karts, and another family. NO ONE was given a briefing by the staff of what to expect, what the flags mean, and the rest of the safety conversations needed with first time visitors. After my experience and the recent reviews I would NEVER suggest going to K1 Speed. I have been going for years but the deteriorating customer service and lack of attentiveness from the staff need to be reevaluated. The staff is incapable of applying the same rules to all drivers and the soloing out of my niece (the only woman/girl racing across the 3 groups) feels very intentional, bordering sexist, as you had the other family crashing into each other and stopping on track but all the staff looked the other way. read more

This is what our son wanted to do with his buds to celebrate his 16th birthday. His last few birthday parties have been easy and relatively cheap, plus 16 is a big deal, so we obliged. They had a blast! This place was clean, didn't smell like gas or fumes or anything, and honestly wasn't too loud in the track area. We had eight teenagers and considered booking a party. However, the party came with a bunch of extras like t-shirts, trophys, and photos that they just weren't interested in at all. If they were younger, yes. But at 16, not so much. So once we figured out that we were having the guys over on a Thursday night, I decided to hedge my bets and try to do a walk-in with eight guys at around 6:30 PM. We didn't figure it would be too crowded, nor would any parties be booked. Well, as it turns out, we lucked out because of someone else's misfortune. The guy at the register next to us was trying to work something out because they apparently had a bachelor party booked that evening, but the groom was stuck at work and still over an hour away. That meant our guys got right in there on the track, though. We purchased three races for each kid, because their mid-week special was three races for $39 each. You also have to purchase "passes" for each driver at an additional $8, unless they already have one from an earlier visit. The whole evening cost us $400, but they had a blast. The results from each race are printed out for each driver in the group with all sorts of numbers and stats on them. Plus, there is a large screen inside the track area so each driver can check their status. We'd love to go back again, but will need a Groupon or a miracle to afford it. And if we have eight or more, we're definitely booking a party, because we know we surely won't be so lucky next time. read more

From the digital logging of race results, medals and prizes based on placement, electronic control of the vehicles for start/stop conditions, etc. this is a real operation. We went for a corporate event and had a lot of fun. The track is sufficiently wide and like most places you have to pick your spot to pass. The part I like is the cars are tuned so similar that the advantage is all on the driver skills (which is good). It took a race to get used to how the cars drive but after that all good. I highly recommend going to K1 Speed Center. I had the time of my life there. The place was super clean. This place is wonderful for all ages! Kids and adults will both enjoy it! One thing I didn't like about K1 is that the track wasn't as big as some other places i've been too. The staff there were also super nice. They carefully make sure you are safe before enjoying. We took our 5 and 7 year old sons here for the first time this evening. They LOVED IT. Everyone was so nice and explained everything we needed to know. Other than a power wheel, my boys haven't driven anything, so I was a little nervous. They did SO well and all the guys were so helpful. I took my son here for his 21st birthday during the COVID-19 outbreak and we had a blast! There were only 10 people in the whole place, so we were treated like royalty. The cars are faster than any other cars we've ever driven, the track is tight & curvy and they give you a print out of your times after every race. My son broke one of the records that week, so he had a great birthday. If you can't find something exciting to do - highly recommend for an hour or two!
